Opis:
Příspěvek je věnován analýze nejnovější české slovní zásoby, jejíž hybridnost vyplývá ze spojení slovotvorných prostředků českého a anglického jazykového půvo- du. Nejprve se zaměřuje na postavení hybridních útvarů v rámci přejímek a poskytuje terminologický přehled typů přejímek z angličtiny (anglicismy – pseudoanglicismy – kalky – hybridy). Na základě vzorku excerpce ze současných českých textů pak naznačuje možné klasifikace hybridů s anglickými slovotvornými prvky a ilustruje jejich různé typy.
The paper is devoted to the analysis of the latest Czech vocabulary the hybridity of which results from the combination of word-formation means of Czech and English origin. It first focuses on the position of hybrid formations among borrowings and provides a terminological overview of the types of borrowing from English (anglicisms – pseudoanglicisms – calques – hybrids). Then, drawing on a sample of excerpts from contemporary Czech texts, it suggests possible classifications of hybrids with English word-forming elements and illustrates their different types.

Neologisms indicate linguistic changes in the lexicon. Vocabulary is particularly prone to changes since language communities constantly need new words and phrases to denote new facts or circumstances or they require new expressions for concepts already established. New expressions are often borrowed from other languages. English has had a strong influence on German vocabulary in the last decades. Therefore, German has several English borrowings. These anglicisms differ in their degree of integration into the linguistic system and vary, for instance, with respect to usage, style, and diffusion in the language community. With the help of the Neologismenwörterbuch, it is possible to have an overview of neologisms of English origin in German that integrate different areas of language change.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest 435 haseł leksykalnych – anglicyzmy i derywaty od anglicyzmów (użyte łącznie 3 124 razy). Materiał pochodzi z siedmiu obszernych numerów gazety „Mladá fronta Dnes” z listopada 2009 r. Jednostki leksykalne reprezentują między innymi następujące pola znaczeniowe: sport (128 haseł), muzyka i subkultury (40 haseł), transport i budownictwo (25 haseł), ekonomia i handel (24 hasła), środki masowego przekazu (24 hasła). Około 40% wszystkich haseł stanowią hapaxlegomena.
The object of the article are 435 lexical items – anglicisms and their derivatives (used a total of 3 124 times). The material is derived from seven extensive issues of Mladá fronta Dnes published in November 2009. The lexical units represent, among others, the following semantic fields: sport (128 units), music and subcultures (40 units), transport and construction (25 units), economy and business (24 units) and mass media (24 units). Single items account for about 40% of the total.

Artykuł składa się z dwu części. W pierwszej dokonano przeglądu głosów w sprawie uchodzącego za kalkę semantyczną z języka rosyjskiego wyrazu wiodący ‛główny, naczelny, przodujący, przewodni, najlepszy’. W ostatnim czasie wyraz uznawany jest za anglosemantyzm. Zdaniem autora artykułu nie ma to uzasadnienia, gdyż semantyczny rusycyzm wiodący przyjął się w języku polskim jeszcze przed okresem wzmożonej fali anglicyzmów w polszczyźnie i stał się naturalnym odpowiednikiem angielskiego leading. W drugiej części artykułu na podstawie danych ze słowników języka rosyjskiego autor dowodzi, że rosyjskie ведущий również jest kalką semantyczną z języka angielskiego. Prowadzi go to do konkluzji, że także inne typy zapożyczeń strukturalnych i semantycznych mogły dostać się z angielskiego do polskiego za pośrednictwem języka rosyjskiego.
The article consists of two parts. The fi rst one presents an overview of a discussion upon the word ‘wiodący,’ ‘main, chief, primary, leading, supreme,’ treated as a semantic calque from the Russian language. Recently, the word has been considered an anglosemanticism. According to the author of the article, this view is unjustifi ed since the semantic Russianism ‘wiodący’ was adopted in Polish long before the massive infl ux of Anglicisms and has become a natural equivalent of the English ‘leading.’ In the second part of the article, drawing on the data from Russian dictionaries, the author proves that the Russian ‘ведущий’ is a semantic calque from English as well. This fact leads him to the conclusion that also other types of structural and semantic borrowings might have reached Polish via Russian.

The phenomenon of the language of politics, its origin and development is a very broad subject matter. This paper illustrates new tendencies and processes occurring in the system of this particular language and jargon. Nowadays English and American elements in the Polish language seem very visible especially when overused in the media, by politicians, business people and public figures. Politicians use their own language to communicate with each other and with the people. The language of politics is a type of language it should be characterized by specific features. Such characteristics are the specific terms, phraseology, adopted words and neologisms. Thus, the article presents a collection of words taken di-rectly or indirectly from English into the Polish language. That proves the fact that we all witness a constant growth in the number of English elements in the language of Polish poli-ticians, during the process of political discourse and in the field of political science.

It is clear that no language exists in isolation and through personal encounters, contact between languages results in lexical borrowings. The influence of one language on another can be perceived in a positive way - as an enrichment of the lexical language of the recipient, or a negative way - for example, as an attempt to replace native lexical units with those of foreign origin. In this article we have made an attempt to analyze three individual personal designations (Celebrity, Star, VIP) borrowed by German from English. This article aims to discuss examples of lexemes, taking into account such aspects of their adaptation and integration into the German language as semantics, frequency of occurrence and formative productivity.

In contemporary Italian, just like in other languages, numerous English words are used. They are particularly frequent in the terminology of some branches of science, such as computer science, as well as in the language of young people. In this article, we discuss the issue of an appropriate policy to adopt towards these foreign lexical items. Different approaches to the problem are presented: the liberal approach, in which linguists should only describe linguistic realities rather than prescribe the “right” choices; the conscious approach, in which every speaker of Italian should reflect on his or her lexical choices; and the most radical approach, in which some official solutions are to be introduced. One of these solutions is the project of the Consiglio Superiore della Lingua Italiana, whose task would be to protect the Italian language against loanwords of English origin.
Nell’italiano contemporaneo, come in altre lingue, si usano numerosi anglicismi. Essi sono particolarmente frequenti nella terminologia di alcuni rami della scienza quali l’informatica, ma anche nel linguaggio giovanile. Nell’articolo viene discussa la questione della politica adeguata da adottare verso gli elementi lessicali stranieri. Si presentano diversi approcci al problema: l’approccio liberale in cui i linguisti si limitano a descrivere la realtà linguistica invece di prescrivere soluzioni corrette, l’approccio cosciente in cui ogni parlante d’italiano riflette sulle proprie scelte lessicali e l’approccio più radicale in cui si introducono alcune soluzioni ufficiali. Una di quelle soluzioni è il progetto della fondazione del Consiglio superiore della lingua italiana il cui compito sarebbe la protezione della lingua italiana dai forestierismi di origine inglese.

Dieser Artikel konzentriert sich darauf, den Trend des Auftretens von Anglizismen zu skizzieren und die Erwünschtheit und Notwendigkeit ihrer Verwendung in der aktuellen Sprache der deutschen Stellenanzeigen zu bestimmen. Der Beitrag umfasst den theoretischen Aspekt der beschriebenen Problematik und deren empirische Analyse, die in einer tabellarischen Form englische Bezeichnungen mit ihren deutschen Äquivalenten zusammenstellt. Das Phänomen der Entlehnung wird im Hinblick auf seine Normativität in der Sprache des Empfängers untersucht. In der Studie werden zwei Berufsgruppen einander gegenübergestellt: diejenigen, für die die Kenntnis einer zweiten Sprache als Vorteil angesehen wird, und eine zweite Gruppe, die in einem internationalen Umfeld arbeitet und daher mehrsprachig ist. Das untersuchte Material ist eine Auswahl von Stellenangeboten aus dem letzten Quartal 2022, die dem deutschen Online-Portal Indeed entnommen wurden. Bei der tabellarischen Darstellung zielt die Autorin darauf ab, den Inhalt des englischen Vokabulars in deutsche Zielbegriffe zu übertragen, wobei die ursprüngliche Bedeutung erhalten bleibt und die Äquivalente in der Sprache des Empfängers verwendet werden.
This article focuses on outlining the trend of the appearance of Anglicisms and determining the desirability and necessity of their use in the current language of German job advertisements. The study covers the theoretical aspect of the issue described and its empirical analysis, presented in the form of a tabular layout of German-language equivalents to foreign-English terms. The phenomenon of borrowing will be examined in terms of its normativity in the language of the recipient. The study juxtaposes two professional groups – those for whom knowledge of a second language is regarded as an asset, and a second group – those working in an international environment – and thus having plurilingual status. The material studied is a selection of job offers from the last quarter of 2022 sourced from the German online portal Indeed. In the tabular summary, the author aims to translate the content of the English vocabulary into German target terms preserving their original meaning, being their equivalents in the language of the recipient.

The article is devoted to the names of music stars in Russian youth slang. The number of English borrowings, which appear in the Russian youth’s language,  is growing rapidly.  Russian youngsters are open for western music. The paper presents the processes of implementation of English names into Russian slang. The studied material shows how English words are transformed to adjust to Russian phonetics. The author of this paper proves that young people do not copy foreign words and phrases, but treat them as a basis for further modifications. They play with foreign words in order to adjust them to Russian phonetics and add humour which is a characteristic feature of youth slang.

The study was designed to describe and classify Anglicisms in modern medical Latin used for description of medical diagnosis and procedures in medical records. Obligatory use of Latin for that purpose in Poland until 2007 resulted in formation of a number of the English-derived medical terms. On the base of analysis of 250 medical records, Anglicisms were classified into six classes [(1) English terms that have no Latin equivalents; (2) English terms that are commonly used in Latin also they have proper Latin equivalents; (3) mixed English-Latin phrases; (4) syntactic calques; (5) semantic or phraseological calques; (6) English spelling of Latin words]. Mechanisms of development of Anglicisms were discussed. Anglicisms in Latin represent a unique phenomenon, the effect of modern English on the dead language.

Blogs are continuously gaining on popularity and social influence in Poland. In this paper we analyze the use of newest English loan words on corpus of texts from most influential Polish blogs. To present complex picture of the loan words, we describe them among others according to their current status as loan words and semantic fields they belong to. The results show some tendencies in the newest English loan words in Polish.

This article discusses a survey about the knowledge of neologisms related to social networks conducted among speakers of the Polish language. The goal of the survey was to show the degree of assimilation of English lexemes in the Polish language among speakers of different age, education and social level. The results from the inquiry show the situation of English words that are integrated into the Polish language. By asking about words, concerning the popular social network Facebook, such as like, post, featuring, haste, check, fake we are able to draw interesting conclusions not only regarding the integration of English neologisms in Polish but also regarding their common use by different types of speakers.
Ce travail est basé sur une enquête menée auprès des locuteurs de la langue polonaise, portant sur la connaissance des néologismes liés aux réseaux sociaux. Cette enquête avait pour but de montrer le degré d'assimilation des lexèmes anglais dans la langue polonaise chez des locuteurs d’âges, d’éducations et de niveaux sociaux différents. Les résultats fournis par l'enquête illustrent la situation des mots anglais qui s'intègrent dans la langue polonaise. Par le biais de mots connus du réseau social populaire Facebook, tels: like, post, featuring, hate, check, fake, nous avons pu fournir des conclusions intéressantes sur l'intégration des néologismes anglais dans la langue courante polonaise et sur leur utilisation par différents types de locuteurs.

This piece of research presents an analysis of the use of anglicisms in the Spanish press at the beginning of the 21st century. Specifi cally, it concentrates on their distribution in texts belonging to different thematic domains. Thus, the purpose of this study is to establish a ranking of specialised fi elds in terms of the frequency with which anglicisms are employed in them. In order to do so, the Corpus de Referencia del Español Actual (CREA), compiled by the Real Academia Española, is used as the source for texts, which supports the reliability and representativeness of the present work.
