    Opis:
    The article presents selected objective and subjective methods to assess the quality of voice services in telephone communication. The authors described the impact of the line and acoustic echo phenomena and ambient noise on the functions of telephone communication systems with respect to the speakerphone mode. Additionally, they discussed the possibilities to apply digital technology to improve the quality of voice services in telephone communication and alarm systems.
    Przedstawiono wybrane metody oceny jakości usług głosowych w telefonii z uwzględnieniem metod subiektywnych i obiektywnych. Opisano wpływ zjawiska echa akustycznego i liniowego oraz hałasu otoczenia na funkcjonowanie systemów łączności telefonicznej z uwzględnieniem trybu głośnomówiącego. Omówiono możliwości zastosowania techniki cyfrowej dla poprawy jakości usług głosowych w kopalnianych systemach łączności telefonicznej i alarmowej.

    Omówiono budowę systemu łączności telefonicznej i alarmowo-rozgłoszeniowej dla Kopalni Gipsu i Anhydrytu (KGiA) Nowy Ląd. Jest to przykład systemu łączności w wersji sieciowej dla małych kopalń zrealizowany na bazie systemu HETMAN/Z. Cechą charakterystyczną systemu jest wspólny redundantny serwer dyspozytorsko alarmowy SDA) dla obsługi łączności telefonicznej i alarmowo-rozgłoszeniowej. Dla zwiększenia niezawodności działania systemu telekomunikacyjnego kopalni, na wypadek awarii urządzeń stacyjnych zostały opracowane odpowiednie procedury postępowania (z zastosowaniem lokalnych środków łączności) w wypadku uszkodzenia elementów stacyjnych systemu. Opisywane rozwiązanie uzyskało indywidualne dopuszczenie do stosowania w zakładach górniczych.
    A structure of the telephone and alarm-broadcasting communication system for the Gypsum and Anhydrite Mine (KGiA) "Nowy Ląd" has been discussed. This is an example of a communication system in a network version designed for small mines and made on the basis of the HETMAN/Z system. A characteristic feature of the system is a shared redundant mine-control/alarm server SDA for telephone-communication and alarm-broadcasting handling. To improve reliability of a telecommunication system of a mine, in case of failure in station equipment there have been developed appropriate proceeding procedures with using local communication devices. The system presented in the paper has an individual Approval for use in mines.

    System łączności alarmowo-rozłoszeniowej jest ważny z punktu widzenia bezpiecznego funkcjonowania podziemnych zakładów górniczych i z tego względu istotna jest znajomość jego niezawodności. Referat jest próbą oceny niezawodności systemu łączności alarmowo-rozgłoszeniowej na podstawie rejestracji zdarzeń w komputerach będących składnikiem takiego systemu. W referacie przedstawiono strukturę niezawodnościową systemu SAT oraz wybrane parametry niezawodnościowe takie jak intensywność uszkodzeń [lambda], intensywność odnowy [mi], współczynnik gotowości poszczególnych elementów systemu SAT, obliczone w dwóch różnych kopalniach i w różnych okresach eksploatacji systemu.
    An alarm and communication system is important for the safety of underground mines and that is why it is necessary to get familiar with its reliability. The article is an attempt to assess the reliability of an alarm and communication system based on the registration of events in the computers which are part of such a system. The article features the reliability structure of the SAT system along with selected reliability parameters, such as the intensity of damages [lambda], intensity of recovery [mi], readiness coefficient of particular elements of the SAT system - calculated in two separate mines and in two different periods of the system exploitation.

    Opis:
    The most important function of a maritime radio communication system called the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) is the distress alerting function. Distress alerting is the rapid and successful reporting of a distress incident to a unit, which can provide or co-ordinate assistance. This would be a rescue co-ordination centre (RCC) or another ship in the vicinity. The article presents and evaluates the technical and operational possibilities of the maritime radio systems for a distress alerting. Especially the basic functional requirements and regulations for GMDSS referring to the maritime radio systems for distress alerting, resulting from the provisions of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) and Radio Regulations have been described. The article presents the role of the maritime radio systems for a distress alerting in the shipping and GMDSS as well. A current status and analysis of the systems responsible for distress alerting has been made. In this context, the operation, methods and ranges of transmitting and receiving the distress alerts by the INMARSAT system, COSPAS-SARSAT system and Digital Selective Calling (DSC) system have been described. The article also outlines the future of the maritime radio systems for a distress alerting. In this context, the two projects under the name of „E-navigation” and „The modernization of the GMDSS”, currently being implemented in the framework of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) by the Sub-Committee on Navigation, Communications and Search and Rescue (NCSR), have been presented as well.

    W artykule przestawiono koncepcję systemu PAS, będącego połączeniem układu hamulca bezpieczeństwa pasażera z układem zapewniającym możliwość komunikacji głosowej maszynisty z osobą zgłaszającą niebezpieczeństwo. Podano wymagania funkcjonalne dla systemu, opisano architekturę proponowanych rozwiązań oraz obszary ich współpracy z innymi pokładowymi systemami pojazdu takimi jak układ komunikacji głosowej CFA. W rozważaniach uwzględniono kompatybilność rozwiązania zarówno z hamulcem pneumatycznym UIC jak i innymi nowoczesnymi typami hamulców z elektryczną pętlą bezpieczeństwa.
    The article presents the concept of the PAS system, which is a combination of the passenger emergency brake system with the system ensuring the possibility of driver’s voice communication with the person submitting the danger. The functional requirements for the system are given, the architecture of the proposed solutions and areas of their cooperation with other vehicle on-board systems such as the voice communication system CFA are described. The compatibility of solutions both with the pneumatic brake UIC and other modern types of brakes with an safety electric loop are taken into account in considerations.
