Opracowanie poświęcone jest twórczości ilustratorskiej do utworów literackich Janusza Korczaka oraz książkom obrazkowym związanym z życiem J. Korczaka. Zaprezentowano wybór polskich, reprezentatywnych, najpopularniejszych ilustracji dla młodego czytelnika, Dokonując ich syntetycznej analizy formalnej, uwzględniono publikacje ukazujące się od lat międzywojennych aż po czasy współczesne, w których obecna jest książka obrazkowa. Zastosowano opis charakterystyczny dla naukowych badań jakościowych.
The study highlights the illustrator’s creativity in the literary works of Janusz Korczak and picture books related to the life of J. Korczak. A selection of Polish most popular illustrations for young readers has been presented as well as synthetic formal analysis has been carried out. The selection of books ranges from the publications from early afterwar period until the present day, when there appears a picture book. A description characteristic of scientific qualitative research has been used.

The development of civilization and technology promotes access to visual culture. The complete formation of human personality includes introduction to understanding of cultural communications, requires preparation from the earliest years of life. In the visual education of children the key assumption is the usage of picture books and books with illustrations of artistic character. They constitute the first artistic medium, the primary carrier of aesthetic values. Due to the ubiquity of visual culture in the 21st century, it has a vital significance in the contemporary aesthetic education of a child. Activities of a teacher are often the only chance for a child to learn to draw from cultural heritage of fine arts.
Rozwój cywilizacyjny i techniczny sprzyja dostępowi do kultury wizualnej. Kształtowanie pełnej osobowości człowieka obejmuje wprowadzenie do rozumienia przekazów kulturowych, wymaga przygotowania od najwcześniejszych lat życia. W edukacji wizualnej dzieci kluczowym założeniem jest korzystanie z książek obrazkowych (picturebook) oraz książek z ilustracjami o charakterze artystycznym. Stanowią one pierwsze medium artystyczne, podstawowy nośnik wartości estetycznych. Ze względu na wszechobecność kultury wizualnej w XXI wieku, ma to elementarne znaczenie we współczesnym wychowaniu estetycznym dziecka. Działania nauczyciela często stanowią jedyną szansę dla dziecka, aby nauczyło się czerpać z dziedzictwa kulturowego sztuk plastycznych.

Opis:
The article offers a reflection on the possible causes of a disregarding attitude to the value of landscape and spatial order in contemporary Poland. Neglecting aesthetic values, usually interpreted as an effect of the communist past, is considered in the paper as a symptom of a specific spatial culture correlated with the social and cultural grounds of the present Polish society. Although it is possible to point out several viable determinants of the present landscape quality in Poland, they all seem to have the same origin. To fea- ture it, the author refers to P. Bourdieu’s habitus concept as well as to the socio-historical perspective in which the Polish society was shaped (peasant culture). The problem of the lack of adequate aesthetic education also stems from the same cultural context. The enhancement of pro-landscape thinking requires resolute actions in many fields. Nonetheless, a proper understanding of the aesthetic education seems to be crucial here.
Artykuł poświęcony jest przyczynom lekceważącego stosunku do krajobrazu i ładu przestrzennego we współczesnej Polsce. Zaniedbywanie wartości estetycznych, zwykle interpretowane jako pokłosie komunistycznej przeszłości, interpretowane jest tu jako przejaw specyficznej kultury przestrzennej  ukształtowanej w lokalnym kontekście kulturowym. Wiele bezpośrednich uwarunkowań estetycznej kondycji polskiego krajobrazu wyrasta ze wspólnego socjo-kulturowego podłoża. Do jego rekonstrukcji i opisu wykorzystano koncepcję habitusu P. Bourdieu oraz perspektywę historyczną (kultura chłopska), w której kształtowało się polskie społeczeństwo. Wzmocnienie myślenia pro-krajobrazowego wymaga zdecydowanych działań w wielu dziedzinach, jednak właściwie rozumiana edukacja estetyczna (o której mowa w końcowej części artykułu) jest tutaj kwestią kluczową.

According to Étienne Gilson, an endless reproduction of the technical aspects of a work of art can modify not only the aesthetic experience of which it is an object, but also the culture it is embedded in. Since industrialization of a cultural product in the form of the internet is a means of generating mass culture, questions could be raised regarding its sources and effects. this article offers three assumptions: 1) the internet, together with its content and actions taken by internet users, is a source of fear of experiencing cybercrime; 2) experiencing cybercrime is a result of using the internet; 3) in mass culture, the aesthetic experience has been replaced by the experience of fear. in order to address the titular question, i performed comparative analyses of eU citizens’ opinions on the basis of the eurobarometer study conducted in eU countries (2013–2020) relating to the social perception of cybercrime, treated as a source of experiencing fear, and the level of their personal experience. A secondary quantitative and qualitative analysis of the collected data were performed, and a comparative method was used.

Zamiast wyprawy do salonów kosmetycznych panie miały do dyspozycji poradniki medyczne i zawarte w nich liczne wskazówki dotyczące tego, jak samodzielnie w domu przygotować różnego rodzaju medykamenty. Przeanalizowanie zaproponowanych w poradnikach medycznych przepisów pozwoli więc na odkrycie osiemnastowiecznej ,,medycyny estetycznej”.
Smooth complexion, shining hair and a shapely figure it is a dream not only of modern woman. In the 18th century women also wanted to take care of their appearance. Instead of going to cosmetic salons, they could use medical guides and tips concerning preparation of different medicines: ointments, brews, tinctures which help keep the young and healthy look. Analysis of prescriptions from medical guides gives a glimpse of secrets of aesthetic medicine in the 18th century and shows how important a thing it was for every woman - irrespective of her social rank - to be attractive.

The situation after the fire of 1758, which destroyed the church including the organ, was bleak: the repairs took decades. The temporary solution was a small positive organ on a provisional choir in the presbytery. The commission for a new organ was given to František Horčička from Frýdek in 1781, who built a large two-manual instrument with 34 registers for 2800 florins. A copy of the contract informs us well about this instrument, about František Horčička’s method of work and about other circumstances of his commission. E. Kreuzinger’s statement that Karl Kuttler built the organ here in 1836 is probably wrong. The new instrument was not built until 1894 as opus 418 by Gebrüder Rieger. This Krnov workshop rebuilt the organ in 1924 (pneumatisation of the action), 1957 (extension of the register specification and tonal range) and 1991 (further enlargement and installation of the electric action).

The concept of the language as an instrument for children, that leads to their mutual understanding in the classes 1–3, depends on the comprehensive educators approach to the relations between linguistics and the philosophy of language, developmental psychology, sociology of culture, and the history of the Polish society. The child’s undertaking of the school education imposes on the teacher the obligation to accompany it not only in mastering the elementary knowledge of the native language’s grammar system, but also in creating situations that overcome students fear of making difficult decisions when solving interesting tasks. When using the functions of the language: fatic, communicative, informational, expressive or meta-linguistic, pupils go through the several stages from the incorrect speech to correct speech, and they master the elementary structure of the reading texts intended for the little recipients. The described process would be strengthened depending on the pupil’s social background, and conditioned culturally and environmentally. This in turn affects the perception of the poetic language function and aesthetic attitude towards art.

My paper deals with the significance of introducing the cultural component in foreign language teaching as well as the necessity of developing young people’s sensitivity to culture, especially to art and literature. In the article, the basic definitions and relevant terms connected with culture are discussed, according to the current status of glottodidactic knowledge. The question of how and to what extent should the cultural component be introduced in the school is also raised. Moreover, the aims of teaching cultural elements as well as their role and importance in foreign language learning are presented. In the final part of the text I describe an example of a practical pedagogical application of the cultural component, which can be used during English classes. This crosscultural studies project consists of three lessons, focused on a chosen aspect of British culture, namely the creation of two representatives of the 18thcentury art and literature. The presentation of this project supports the thesis that the combination of teaching language together with cultural elements is possible. It also serves as an example of how to achieve this aim and, simultaneously, how to make lessons both educational and untypical, which means more entertaining for the students. All in all, the aim of the article is to emphasise the need for aesthetic education as well as to raise teachers’ and educators’ awareness of the aforementioned problem.

Na skutek głębokich przemian społecznych, kulturowych i edukacyjnych, dokonanych na przełomie XIX i XX w., wychowanie estetyczne na stałe weszło w zakres ogólnego wykształcenia humanistycznego. Demokratyczne założenia polskiego szkolnictwa powszechnego uwzględniały potrzebę wprowadzenia uczniów objętych obowiązkiem szkolnym w krąg szeroko rozumianej kultury estetycznej. Wychowanie estetyczne przebiegało w dwóch wymiarach: indywidualnym (koncentrującym się wokół rozwoju osobowego ucznia) oraz społecznym (sprowadzającym się do podnoszenia poziomu kulturalnego członków społeczeństwa), a odpowiedzialność za jego realizację spoczęła przede wszystkim na nauczycielach. W celu poznania opinii nauczycieli na temat ich roli w procesie krzewienia kultury estetycznej w społeczeństwie autorka przeprowadziła kwerendę biblioteczną kilku czasopism, m.in. „Rysunek i Zajęcia Praktyczne”, „Śpiew w Szkole” i „Praca Ręczna w Szkole”, a także odwołuje się do wystąpień i publikacji uznanych pedagogów – ówczesnych autorytetów w zakresie rysunku, śpiewu i robót ręcznych, czyli zajęć zaliczanych do grupy tzw. przedmiotów artystycznych czy też artystyczno-technicznych, nauczanych w szkołach powszechnych w okresie dwudziestolecia międzywojennego.
As a result of the deep social, cultural and educational changes, made at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, aesthetic education has permanently entered the scope of general humanistic education. The assumptions of Polish general education – made in harmony with the spirit of democratization – took into account the introduction of students into the aesthetic culture. Aesthetic education was taking place in two dimensions: individual (focusing on the personal development of the student) and social (boiling down to the increase cultural level in society). In order to know teachers opinions about their role in the process of promotion of aesthetic culture in society, the author conducted a library query of several magazines, including “Rysunek i Zajęcia Praktyczne” (“Drawing and Practical Classes”), “Śpiew w Szkole” (“Singing at School”) and “Praca Ręczna w Szkole” (“Handwork at School”), and also refers to the speeches and publications of recognized educators – the authorities in the field of drawings, singing and handwork, activities belonging to the group named artistic or artistic and technical classes, taught in general schools during the interwar period.

In this essay, I will attempt to present a model of aesthetics based on a distinctive way of understanding artistic participation, relying on examples from the conceptions of Michel Maffesoli and Nicolas Bourriaud. My characterization does not claim to provide a complete description of the phenomenon in art and in contemporary theoretical approaches. Instead,I will attempt to show that the model, despite its narrow formula, provides a good opportunity to showcase certain shifts that have occurred in contemporary aesthetics due to late modern (especially characteristic of the post-industrial age) processes of de-autonomization. These shifts can be traced in the space of tension between two categories: distance and engagement. I will also show that the shifts open a new way of defining the subject of artistic creation. The subject no longer has an individual or intentional nature, nor yields to a substantialising characterization. The creative force is the self-articulating social life converged in human practices (and, among others – in artistic practices). In a way, Bourriaud and Maffesoli reuse a well-known philosophical template: one in which the poietic power of creation is alternately bestowed upon Nietzsche’s life, Heidegger’s or late Merleau-Ponty’s Being, Dufrenne’s self-creating Nature etc. Bourriaud and Maffesoli, in their conceptions of artistic and aesthetic participation, fall within – and this is my overall conclusion which serves as the guideline for the present analysis – in such a generally understood poietic model.
W niniejszym eseju ukazuję model estetyki oparty na swoistym sposobie rozumienia partycypacji artystycznej opierając się na przykładach dwóch koncepcji: Michela Maffesolego i Nicolasa Bourriauda. Moja charakterystyka nie rości sobie prawa do wyczerpania opisu zjawiska, jakim jest powodzenie kategorii partycypacji w sztuce i we współczesnych ujęciach teoretycznych. Postaram się pokazać, iż opisywany model jest mimo swojej dość wąskiej formuły, dobrą okazją do pokazania pewnych przesunięć, jakie dokonywane są w estetyce współczesnej wskutek późnonowoczesnych (zwłaszcza charakterystycznych dla doby postindustrialnej) procesów jej dezautonomizacji. Przesunięcia te rysują się w polu napięć między dwiema kategoriami: dystansu i zaangażowania. Pokażę również, że przesunięcia te prowadzą do nowego sposobu definiowania podmiotu artystycznej kreacji. Nie ma on charakteru jednostkowego, intencjonalnego, ani tym bardziej nie podlega charakterystyce substancjalizującej. Siłą tworzącą jest samoartykułujące się życie społeczne, ogniskowane w ludzkich praktykach (m.in. w praktyce artystycznej). Bourriaud i Maffesoli powielają w pewien sposób matrycę dobrze znaną filozofii: poietyczną siłą kreacji obdarzane w niej bywa samo życie (Nietzsche), Bycie (Heidegger), Byt (późny Merleau-Ponty), samostwarzajaca się Natura (Dufrenne) itp. The article presents an analysis of selected functions carried out by the popular cultural references in Żulczyk’s novel Zrób mi jakąś krzywdę, czyli wszystkie gry wideo są o miłości. The first section of the article considers some methodological problems related to the subject matter of the article and discusses the book in view of Shusterman’s aesthetic experience model in the aesthetic legitimization of popular art. The next section includes the analysis of the text and focuses on such issues as references to popular culture in the protagonist’s characteristics. In the conclusion of the article, the author sums up that the popular culture threads are not included in the novel purely for decorative reasons but constitute it at a multi-tiered level and cannot be removed from the novel otherwise it would disrupt, or even destroy, its structure and thus, without some knowledge of the basic elements of pop culture, the reading and understanding of the book can be substantially impaired and incomplete.

Opis:
Aim. The purpose of the study is to analyse the structural aspects of expansion, which find expression in cultural metaphors and philosophical concepts, the transformation of the content of which is evidence of the emergence of new aesthetic practices. Methods. The research methodology involves the use of a systemic approach and such methods as analytical, comparative, axiological, and hermeneutic to understand the patterns of formation of paradigms of visual culture and contexts of expansion in postmodern culture. Results. The metaphor of glass during the 20th century loses its meaning as a source of the effects of refraction of reality in perception, the excessive complexity of which forms a tendency for simplifying and zeroing. The expansion becomes an important principle of cultural dynamics, extends to space and time, communication and identity in the world of the rapid circulation of information and its instant obsolescence. The patterns of expansion are observed in the processes of aestheticisation and aesthetic experience as the breaking out of form, perspective, perception and inclusion of the Self in the profound contexts of collective practices. Conclusions. Through mastering new sensual modalities in the photo, film reality, and the latest Internet technologies, there is an expansion of perception as an expansion of media. Therefore, at the level of identity the practices of focus, concentration, and slow contemplation gain importance. In the cultural aspect, the expansion enables a return to tradition in a new capacity.
