The text deals with teachers’ attitudes and opinions of the transformation of the Czech schools. It answers the following question: Which are the risky factors for current teachers to be able to adopt the concept of the integrated teaching process and to be able to get rid of residue of the encyclopaedic approach to the teaching process in Czech schools. Teachers’ attitudes and their connection with reflection of their work and their self-reflection are defined briefly. The author describes research problems, questions, hypotheses and aims of the research realised in 20 schools in the city of Ostrava and its neighbourhood within the Research Project of our organisation named New Opportunities in Education of Teachers, Educators and Pupils for the Learning Society of the 21st Century (VZO CEZ: JOB/98: 174500001) during the years 2000– 2003. She interprets results of this research and conclusions following from it for the pedagogical practice.

Most previous analyses of Poland’s planned accession to the euro zone focused on the macroeconomic aspects of the move, while overlooking its microeconomic significance. The authors of this paper are concerned with the impact of euro adoption on the competitiveness and internationalization of enterprises. The basic question that they attempt to answer is how euro-zone entry will change the conditions in which Polish businesses operate, and how it will change the range of instruments companies use in the process of building a competitive advantage and in shaping their competitive strategies. Gorynia, Jankowska, Pietrzykowski and Tarka conducted empirical research among 50 enterprises in the western Polish region of Wielkopolska. They divided the companies into four groups by employment. Most of the companies supported Polish euro-zone entry, but the level of acceptance depended on the strategic potential of an enterprise. According to respondents, lower currency risk would be the most important benefit of the move, while the main threat is that soaring prices could harm domestic demand. The results of the research contribute to a nationwide debate on the implications of Polish entry into the common currency area. According to the paper’s authors, research in this area should be continued to cover not just individual regions but the whole country.

Opis:
The vocation to parenthood is one of the basic tasks of the spouses. In the modern world marital infertility is one of the ever more common problems affecting married couples. On the other hand, ever more often we encounter situations, in which parents, especially single mothers, do not want to raise their children. The meeting of the needs of people in both these situations makes the so-called unwanted or rejected children get a chance to find parental love and a family home by means of adoption. The article tackles the issue of adoption present in the teaching of the Magisterium of the Church. It indicates that accepting a born child to the family through adoption is a requirement of the spouses' fertile love, but also a Christian fulfillment of the commandment of love, the service to life and a way to preach the “Gospel of life” by means of acts of love given to the most needy child. Adoption is not an easy thing, an event that happens once, but it amounts to saying “yes” to love; it is accepting a certain way of life, in which serving another man and Christ present in the “least” man is the first and supreme aim of adoptive parents' life. It is also worth stressing that the necessity to shape and create mentality serves a man not as something exceptional, but exactly as the style of life of Christian spouses.

Opieka nad dzieckiem wychowywanym poza rodziną organizowana jest w formach instytucjonalnych (placówki opiekuńczo‑wychowawcze typu socjalizacyjnego, interwencyjnego i wielofunkcyjne) oraz w formach rodzinnych (rodziny zastępcze, placówki opiekuńczo‑wychowawcze typu rodzinnego i rodziny adopcyjne). We współczesnym systemie opieki nad dzieckiem osieroconym podkreśla się prymat rodzinnych form wsparcia oraz pracy socjalnej z rodzicami dziecka, w celu umożliwienia mu jak najszybszego powrotu do domu. Rodzinna opieka zastępcza daje szansę dzieciom osieroconym na rekompensatę negatywnych skutków sieroctwa, gdyż zapewnia lepsze, niż w formach instytucjonalnych, warunki dla rozwoju psychofizycznego dziecka.
Child care deprived of the family is being organized in institutional forms (institutions of care and education of socialization type, emergency and multifunctional) and in family forms (foster families, institutions of care and education of family type, adoptive families). In the contemporary care system of the orphaned child the primacy of family forms of the support and the social work with parents is being underlined, to enable him the fastest return home. A concern for integral bringing up a child and compensating for experienced earlier traumatic effects are the basic task of a foster family. Family children’s homes and Children’s Villages perform the major part, because they provide care for they siblings. Adoptive families compensate for adverse effects, for they accepted the child forever. The family foster care gives the chance to orphaned children for the compensation of adverse effects of the orphanage, as it assures better than, in institutional forms, conditions for the development of the psychophysical child. The child can carry its essential needs out not only physiological, but also the need of safety, membership and love.

Learning Activity Management System (LAMS) has been trialled and used by users from many countries around the globe, but despite the positive attitude towards its potential benefits to pedagogical processes its adoption in practice has been uneven, reflecting how difficult it is to make a new technology based concept an integral part of the education system. In order to investigate and determine the elements that block the adoption of learning design tools in general, the study will review research papers that have been published in recent years on this subject, especially LAMS. The study will discuss patterns of critical aspects related to adoption of learning design tools and derive a framework that can be used in follow-up studies aimed at collecting relevant empirical data from practitioners to identify key progress measures of the adoption process. These measures may be used later to devise strategies that will see increased adoption of online learning design tools such as LAMS in school systems and higher education institutions.

In the public debate, it is argued that Poland avoided a massive drop in output during the 2008/2009 economic crisis in part thanks to substantial nominal zloty’s depreciation against the euro. The Polish case is often contrasted with Slovakia that adopted the euro in January 2009 and, since the Ecofin Council decision in summer 2008, exhibited virtually no nominal exchange rate volatility while facing deep losses in output. In this paper we attempt to validate this contrast by reversing the roles, i.e. checking if Poland really would have faced the same drop – and Slovakia would have remained relatively resilient – if it had been Poland, not Slovakia, that adopted the euro at that point. Our counterfactual simulations based on a New Keynesian DSGE model indicate that, indeed, the Polish tradable output could have been 10-15 percent lower than actually observed in 2009, while the Slovak one – approximately 20 percent higher. This asymmetry results mainly from structural differences between the two economies, such as size, openness, share of nontradable sector and foreign trade elasticities. The difference of this size would have been short-lived (3-4 quarters), and the difference of the nontradable output would have been of much lower magnitude.

John Paul II during his pontificate always reminded of the standing value of human life, of a complete need of respecting it. The man, despite of the stage of his life, has got the right to live longer, to develop, and to satisfy his needs. Today, however, we can notice that family situation has reached crisis point. This is true also about the Polish family. The statement saying that the recall to accept the abortion law is a regress on the way to democracy, and it is one of the biggest absurdities, which can be told by the thinking man. What makes sense for the country which is going to exist, is to serve- without exceptions- and to protect the lifethe fundamental thing of the world. This is why the attempt to kill the unborn people made under the majesty of the law is the democracy suicide, the stroke imposed into its heart. The catholic church has become alarmed with the lack of respect for the natural laws and for the disappearance of the life value. It is confirmed by the huge amount of the Church Documents devoted to this question. The catholic church is definitely against the abortion. To support this point many different pastoral forms of protection the unborn were worked out and introduced to the church life. The pastoral aims taken up for that are the following: the prayers, intensifying the knowledge, starting the Holly Life Days or Weeks, the Prayer Crusade to Protect the Conceived Children, the Spiritual Adoption of the Conceived Child, the Lonely Mothers’ Houses, the Window to the Life.

Adoption guidance is a special form of family guidance whose aim is to support people involved in adoption. They include the biological family, the child and the candidates for adoptive parents. Each of them needs specific kind of aid. It is difficult to unequivocally classify adoption guidance in one of the standard counselling categories (i.e. as directive, liberal or dialogical guidance) since it displays traits of them all. Influencing the advice-seekers strongly, the counsellor is crucial to the process. S/he fosters the clients’ maturation, builds trust and creates possibilities to accompany them in the post-adoption follow-up even for a period of several years.
Poradnictwo adopcyjne to szczególna forma poradnictwa rodzinnego, stawiająca sobie za cel udzielanie wsparcia podmiotom uczestniczącym w procesie przysposobienia dziecka. Należą do nich: rodzina biologiczna, dziecko oraz kandydaci na rodziców adopcyjnych. Każdy z wymienionych podmiotów potrzebuje specyficznej pomocy. Poradnictwo adopcyjne trudno jednoznacznie przypisać do jednego z klasycznych rodzajów: dyrektywnego, liberalnego czy dialogowego. Posiada bowiem cechy każdego z nich. Szczególna jest tu rola doradców, którzy wywierają silny wpływ na radzących się, a którym równocześnie zależy na procesie dojrzewania podmiotów, budowania zaufania oraz możliwości towarzyszenia im w formach pomocy postadopcyjnej, nawet, przez okres wielu lat.

The article takes the problem up concerning the adoption of norms of the Code of Canon Law of 1983 concerning the competences of the pastors of the Church for instruments of social communication in directory Apostolorum Successores. In the first part, on the basis of the Code of John Paul II, there were presented following duties and rights of the pastors of the Church: teaching the Christian faithful about the duty to cooperate in using the media, watching over the faith and morals, preparing the norms concerning transfer Christian doctrine by the instruments of social communication and the application of administrative or penal sanctions. In the second part there was indicated that Congregation for Bishops includes in directory 17 norms on the pastoral office of bishops in the field of the instruments of social communication. In 6 of them i.e. 30, 100a, 139, 140, 141 and 142 the adoption of norms of the Code is visible. The authors of the document were founded on can.: 772 § 2, 747 § 1, 822 § 1, 823, 824-827, 830, 831 § 2.

On the one hand, adoptive family is an alternative for married couples who are not able to have progeny, on the other hand, it is an alternative for social orphans to have proper family. So as well as fulfilling a lot of functions of biological families, adoptive families also compensate for social orphanhood. Only a healthy family can face such a responsible task. According to modern psychology, pedagogics and sociology, family is a small social group, a community which follows certain rules. A healthy family is a functional family, which makes every one of its members happy and gives them possibility to fulfill their needs. There are all sorts of difficulties, failures and arguments in such a family, however, mutual relationships and the potential of its particular members motivates to look for satisfying solutions for every one of them. So, what should characterize a healthy adoptive family, what inner-family factors and outer conditions might disturb its functioning. These questions need to be tried and answered already in the diagnosing and preparation period for the adoptive parents candidates. It is also important to prepare a child (depending on age), because both the child and its future parents bring to the newly created adoptive family their genetic heritage, health condition, previous experiences and life plans, hopes, value, skills, mutual relations, ways to communicate and deal with difficulties and so on. Final court decision on adoption should not be the end, but the beginning of post-adoptive work with the new family, in order to strengthen its proper and healthy functioning.

The paper contains an overview of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) implemented in food and agricultural enterprises. The description of the sector summarizes some unique features compared to numbers describing food production aspects in Europe. For better understanding of the whole phenomenon the paper describes an innovative processes and technology progress in general and in the sector as well. Important aspects and potential problematic areas such as factors that infl uence ICT deployment are shown and analyzed. Main focus is directed on the technologies of e-business and its impact on organizational aspect of the sector. Also the role of ICT in the innovation process and product has been reviewed and certain areas of improved activities compared and summarized. Very forward-looking technology in the agri-food sector is SOA. With a common data exchange standards, it is possible to transfer information between different units.
Artykuł zawiera przegląd technologii informacyjnych i komunikacyjnych (ICT) realizowanych w sektorze przetwórstwa żywności i przedsiębiorstw rolnych. Opis sektora zawiera podsumowanie kilku unikalnych cech oraz liczb opisujących aspekty produkcji żywności w Europie. Dla lepszego zrozumienia całego zjawiska ICT w tym sektorze artykuł opisuje procesy innowacyjne i postęp w technologii ogólnie, jak również w sektorze. Ważne aspekty i potencjalne obszary problemowe, takie jak czynniki, które wpływają na wdrożenia ICT są przeanalizowane i przedstawione w syntetyczny sposób. Główny nacisk skierowany jest na technologie e-biznesu i jej wpływ na organizacyjny aspekt sektora. Również rola ICT w innowacji procesowej oraz produktowej zostały przeanalizowane a pewne obszary poprawy działalności porównane i podsumowane. Bardzo przyszłościową technologią w sektorze rolno-spożywczym jest SOA. Wspólne standardy wymiany danych umożliwiają przesyłanie informacji pomiędzy różnymi jednostkami.

New Tech-nologies play a special role in developing countries, where their in-country adoption lies in the centre of development strategies. ICT are treated as tools which bring people access to information, education and knowledge, offering unlimited possibilities for wealth-creation. The paper, purely empirical in nature, reports on the pace of adoption of new Information and Communication Technologies in developing countries, and – additionally – investigates country-specific ICT diffusion patterns. We expect to uncover the S-shape curve in the diffusion process in most of developing countries, as well as in the whole country sample. For the analysis purposes, we apply all counties which – according to the World Bank nomenclature – are classified as low-income and lower-middle-income econ-omies. Our sample covers 46 countries (upper-middle-income and high-income economies are excluded from the study purposefully) which are classified as devel-oping economies. The time framework is set for the period of 2000-2011. All data necessary for the analysis are derived from World Telecommunication/ICT Indica-tors Database 2012 (16th edition).
