Opis:
The ability to analyse the traffic and urban mobility pattern with the help of video analytics, which occur in massive volumes of surveillance video will lead us to provide a knowledge based for the urban planners and policy makers to come up with better construction planning. This will soothe the needs of urban commuters and thereby saving unnecessary spillage of money on the construction projects. In this research project, we present an artificial intelligence framework for transport video analytic; which autonomously models behavioural patterns of commuters and flow of traffic, wherein it taxonomically classifies essential patterns based on geometrical feature points of interest to facilitate reality mining. This behavioural pattern of commuter and traffic flow can later be queried and fetched through the newly mathematically programmed ontological data warehousing module, where such reality mined contextual data could be used for sharing essential data.

Opis:
Highly efficient CdO-SiO2 nanomaterial was synthesized by Sol-gel method and sonication technique. The nanomaterial was characterized by Field-emission Scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) with elementary dispersive X-ray (EDX), High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL) and Ultraviolet-Visible diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS). The photocatalytic activity of CdO-SiO2 nanomaterial was studied from the photodegradation of Rh B as it has maximum efficiency at pH = 7 under UV-light irradiation at 365 nm. The photodegradation of dye various Catalyst loading and dye concentration is parameters have been studied. The hydroxyl radical formation in the mechanism was confirmed by fluorescence quenching technique. The mineralization of dye is confirmed by chemical oxygen demand measurements. An achievable mechanism is proposed for higher activity of CdO-SiO2 under UV-light at 365 nm. This catalyst was found to be stable and reusable.

In 2019, the Polish–Slovak Archaeological Mission in Tell el-Retaba continued the excavation of a Third Intermediate Period settlement in Area 9. The paper presents two houses, {1095} and {3111}, in detail. Activity-area analysis is employed to determine the main occupations of the inhabitants in successive phases. The analysis is based on the archaeological assemblage recorded from these features, including small finds, pottery, and installationse.

The paper is an account of the events ending the jubilee year of the University of Lodz and the Department of Social Pedagogy, entitled Social Pedagogy at the University of Lodz: Past – Present – Future, which included two parts: a panel discussion around the issues contained in the book by J.-M. Barbier Vocabulaire d’analyse des activités. Penser les conceptualisations (Lexicon of the activity analysis. Conceptualizations of customary terms) and an exhibition devoted to the history of social pedagogy at the University of Lodz. The event was also a celebration of the centenary of the birth of Professor Irena Lepalczyk occurring on 1 October 2016. The discussion focused on key terms for the author’s own concept of activity analysis, presented in the Lexicon. The emphasized elements included the proposal of unobvious meanings as well as the original structure of the book.
Tekst stanowi relację z wydarzenia kończącego rok jubileuszowy Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego jak i Katedry Pedagogiki Społecznej, zatytułowanego Pedagogika społeczna w Uniwersytecie Łódzkim: przeszłość – teraźniejszość – przyszłość, które objęło dwie części: dyskusję panelową wokół problematyki zawartej w książce J.-M. Barbiera Leksykon analizy aktywności. Konceptualizacje zwyczajowych pojęć oraz wystawę poświęconą dziejom pedagogiki społecznej w UŁ. Wydarzenie było również uczczeniem setnej rocznicy urodzin profesor Ireny Lepalczyk przypadającej 1 października 2016 r. Dyskusja dotyczyła pojęć kluczowych dla autorskiej koncepcji analizy aktywności, zaprezentowanej w Leksykonie. Podkreślano przy tym zarówno propozycję znaczeń nieoczywistych zaproponowanych przez J.-M. Barbiera, jak i oryginalną strukturę książki. Zastanawiano się również m.in. nad uniwersalnością koncepcji i samego Leksykonu.

The latest National Population Census in Poland, like in many EU countries, was conducted in 2021. In Ukraine, during the entire period of independence, a national census was conducted only once, in 2001, while the following rounds kept being postponed. In 2019, a trial census was conducted in several regions of central Ukraine. The working hypothesis is that for the organisation and conduct of the All-Ukrainian Population Census in Ukraine, it is important to use the experience of EU countries in this field (and Poland’s experience in particular). The purpose of the article is to substantiate the theoretical foundations and comparative analysis of the processes of conducting censuses in Poland and Ukraine and to study the factors of increasing the level of respondent participation. The article reviews a number of socio-economic factors in the light of the comparison of data census organisation in Poland and Ukraine. Several international indicators were investigated that could have an impact on respondent participation in statistical surveys and censuses. By applying factor analysis, it was possible to identify the factors that could increase the level of respondent participation. To solve these demographic challenges, the following activity should be considered: financial support for the successful functioning of economic entities, improvement of social infrastructure, friendly environment for innovation and investment, and peace and political stability in Ukraine.

QSAR analysis of a set of previously synthesized 2,5,6-trisubstituted benzoxazole, benzimidazole and 2-substituted oxazolo(4,5-b)pyridine derivatives tested for growth inhibitory activity against Candida albicans, was performed by using the computer-assisted multiple regression procedure. The activity contributions for either heterocyclic ring systems or substituent effects of these compounds were determined from the correlation equation and the predictions for the lead optimization were described. The resulting QSAR revealed that the oxazolo(4,5-b)pyridine ring system with the substitution of a benzyl moiety at position 2 was the most favourable structure among the heterocyclic nuclei. Moreover, the fifth position in the fused ring system is found more significant than the other positions in improving the activity.

The enterprise assessment is used to verify its activity and is a point of departure to make future decisions. The assessment quality depends on its executor’s knowledge, experience and capabilities. Enterprises have adopted an assessment performance method based on their needs and activity specifics. In the ever changing environment the applied enterprise assessment algorithm should be progressively improved. The present enterprise assessment satisfies its basic needs but is not sufficient. The assessment should be enriched by a number of elements that will consider the enterprise logistic system multidimensionality. Numerous factors and their mutual relations should be taken into account in the assessment. This makes it necessary to form a pattern of the enterprise assessment algorithm that would function as a guide.

The aim of the present study was the analysis of match activities of full-backs from selected European national soccer leagues. The study sample comprised 30 full-backs playing in the autumn round of the 2014/15 season from five European national top-tier leagues: English Premier League, Spanish Primera Division, German Bundesliga, Russian Priemjer Liga and Italian Serie A. The performance of full-backs (left-back and right-back) from each selected team was analyzed using a professional match analysis system OptaPro which tracks every possible type of ball touch and on the ball action in match covered by a rigid set of definitions. The data for analysis included the total number of passes, total number of crosses, and total number of ball touches performed by the fullbacks in three zones of the pitch: attack, midfield and defense. The study results showed that the full-backs from the Spanish Primera Division executed the highest number of passes and crosses as well as ball touches in the attack zone. They also performed the lowest number of passes in the midfield and defense zones, in which the highest percentage of passes was achieved by the full-backs from the German league teams. The study indicates that in modern soccer defenders must possess a high level of offensive skills that can be necessary in the last stage of a team’s attack.

Education is a metaprocess focused on causing changes in individual and social resources of experience, knowledge, skills, attitudes, beliefs and aspirations, as well as in the state of health and physical fitness. This system of processes consists of many diverse interrelated interactions, actions, acts, deeds and activities, with many related elements and components, and among them control and evaluation activities. The purpose of the article is to present the results of analyzes and thoughts related to the determination of the role of these activities among other educational acts, related in particular to cooperation and mutual interaction. It goes well beyond the commonly accepted so-called school and colloquial understanding of these terms. They are treated primarily as cognitive and research activities, as well as valuing activities, as subject-making, person-forming and sociogenic tools. The basis of the research was a diachronic-synchronous model of the full, broadly understood act of educational activity. The resulting conclusions indicate their fundamental role in education.

Opis:
The study characterizes specific therapeutic waters in Polish health resorts, which contain iodide, fluoride, silicon, sulphides, iron(II), carbon dioxide and radon in concentrations that ensure the therapeutic status of water and specify how it can be used for medical treatment. Based on the physicochemical analysis, it has been verified that among 160 waters from 39 health resorts, 37 contain Fe(II) in concentrations > 10 mg dm–3, which means that they can be classified as ferruginous. Twelve waters containing fluoride in concentrations > 2 mg dm–3 were recognized as therapeutic fluoride waters. Five waters were classified as siliceous ones owing to the content of silicon compounds above 70 mg dm–3 (H2SiO3). Twenty-eight of the analysed waters contain sulphides (H2S+HS–) in concentrations > 1 mg dm–3 and 64 waters contain iodide in concentrations > 1 mg dm–3. Carbon dioxide, which occurs in 72 waters in concentrations above 1 g dm–3 (acidulous waters), proved to be the most widespread component. Waters which contain radon in an amount corresponding to the radiation of 74 Bq (2 nCi) in 1 dm3 are classified as radon waters. Ten of the analysed waters were found to contain this element. The waters were highly varied in chemical composition and type of specific components. Sulphurous waters are mainly used for mineral baths; ferruginous waters are drunk; fluoride and silicon-rich waters are taken for mineral baths and iodide waters are used for mineral baths and inhalations. Using these waters in balneotherapy is an important part of spa treatment and defines different healing profiles of Polish health resorts.
W pracy przedstawiono charakterystykę leczniczych wód swoistych polskich uzdrowisk. Są to wody zawierające jodki, fluorki, związki krzemu, związki siarki (II), żelazo (II), dwutlenek węgla i radon w stężeniach decydujących o statusie leczniczym wody i sposobie jej wykorzystania do zabiegów kuracyjnych. Na podstawie wyników analiz fizykochemicznych stwierdzono, że spośród 160 wód pochodzących z 39 miejscowości uzdrowiskowych 37 wód zawiera żelazo (II) w stężeniu > 10 mg dm–3 wymaganym dla uznania wody za żelazistą 12 wód zawierających fluorki w stężeniu > 2 mg dm–3 uznano za lecznicze wody fluorkowe; 5 wód ze względu na zawartość związków krzemu w stężeniu > 70 mg dm–3 (H2SiO3) zaliczono do wód krzemowych; 28 wód zawiera związki siarki (II) w stężeniu > 1 mg dm–3 (HS– + H2S), a 64 wody zawierają jodki w stężeniu > 1 mg dm–3. Najczęściej występującym składnikiem swoistym wód leczniczych jest dwutlenek węgla, którego stężenie w 72 wodach przekracza 1 g dm–3 (szczawy). Wody zawierające radon w ilości, której odpowiada aktywność promieniotwórcza co najmniej 74 Bq dm–3 (2 nCi), są zaliczane do wód radonowych. Pierwiastek ten występuje w 10 badanych wodach. Omawiane wody charakteryzują się dużym zróżnicowaniem podstawowego składu chemicznego oraz zawartością ww. składników swoistych. Wody swoiste siarczkowe są wykorzystywane głównie do kąpieli, wody żelaziste do kuracji pitnych, wody fluorkowe i krzemowe do kąpieli, a jodkowe do kąpieli i inhalacji. Stosowanie tych wód w balneoterapii stanowi ważną część działalności uzdrowiskowej i uzasadnia różne profile lecznicze polskich uzdrowisk.

Opis:
The fruiting bodies of Hericium erinaceus have been widely used for the treatment of dyspepsia, chronic gastric ulcers, and enervation. There remains a lack of data on the role of an ethanol extract from H. erinaceus (EEH) on ethanol-induced gastric ulcers. The ethanol-induced experimental gastric injury model was used to evaluate the gastroprotective activity of extracts. Ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole-time of flight tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-Triple-TOF-MS) analysis was used to identify the possible compounds present in EEH. Transcriptome sequencing(RNA-seq) and bioinformatics analyses were conducted to reveal the characteristics and molecular mechanism underlying EEH’s protective effect of on gastric tissue injury. Administration of EEH at doses of 0.625, 1.25, and 2.5 g/kg body weight prior to ethanol ingestion dose-dependently inhibited gastric ulcers. EEH also significantly increased superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and decreased malondialdehyde (MDA) content in the gastric tissue. Twelve compounds from EEH were identified including three diterpene compounds, two heteroterpene compounds, three isoindolinone compounds, one aromatic compound, N-(1-deoxy-D-fructos-1-yl)-L-valine, adenosine, and lumichrome. These compounds promote the inhibition of pathways involved in gastric ulcer formation. The RNA-seq results suggest that EEH indirectly protects the gastric tissue from injury by regulating the cell cycle and biological functions, up-regulating several signal molecules, or activating several proteasome functions. It was concluded that EEH represents a potential therapeutic option to reduce the risk of gastric ulceration.

Opis:
Celem pracy było określenie wpływu aktywności wody na sensoryczna ocenę tekstury krakersów. Zakres pracy obejmował analizę sensoryczną tekstury ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem jej mechanicznych i akustycznych wyróżników. Niezależnie oceniono wpływ aktywności wody na jakość ogólną produktu. Do opisu wpływu aktywności wody produktu na jakość ogólną użyto zmodyfikowanego równania Fermiego i obliczono krytyczną aktywność wody. Wykazano że akustyczne wyróżniki tekstury są wysoko skorelowane z jakością ogólną i są lepszymi wskaźnikami niekorzystnych zmian zachodzących w produkcie pod wpływem sorpcji wody niż wyróżniki mechaniczne.
The aim of the paper is to define the influence of water activity on sensory assessment of the texture of crackers. The scope of the study included a sensory analysis of texture with particular attention to its mechanical and acoustic discriminants. Influence of water activity on general quality of the product was assessed independently. A modified Fermie's equation was used to describe the influence of product water quality on general quality and critical water activity was calculated. It was proved that acoustic discriminants of texture are highly correlated to general quality and are better indicators of unfavourable changes taking place in the product under the influence of water sorption than mechanical discriminants.
