    Opis:
    This article describes changes in student–teacher relations in the context of academic institutions and variation in methods of teaching. On the basis of empirical research (interviews conducted currently among employees of Polish institutions of higher learning and analysis of source materials concerning the past) the authors advance the thesis that the figure of the mentor—which was once associated with scholarship and academic institutions—has ceased to have meaning for contemporary scholars. Instead of mentors, persons who are called “quasi-mentors” have appeared; they act temporarily as guides for young scholars and most often perform only one of the functions formerly fulfilled by mentors (for instance, organizers of academic life, seekers for research funds, promoters of doctoral theses, etc.). The authors consider that these alterations have been caused by general processes of economic, technological, political, and axiological change.

    Opis:
    In this article the author deals with the problems of moral and communication attitudes of teachers, which has a significant influence on the personality of students. This is extremely important because there is a close connection between education and the message. Education enables a message that positively or negatively affects the development and formation of young people. Although education – according to Pope Francis – has been universally degrading, and any attempt to achieve unity is thwarted because of the interests, which, in most cases, do not have much in common with education, as well as the fact that it is difficult to make contradictory attitudes complement each other, this teaching will always be an expression of social love. This is because it includes paradoxes: the more attention is paid to details and individual affairs of each student, the more their actions become associated with what is common, what is great, with what builds the nation and the country.
    W artykule autor zajmuje się problematyką moralnej i komunikacyjnej postawy nauczycieli akademickich, która ma istotny wpływ na kształtowanie osobowości studentów. Jest to niezwykle istotne, gdyż między wychowaniem a przekazem zachodzi ścisły związek. Wychowanie umożliwia przekaz, który pozytywnie lub negatywnie wpływa na rozwój i formację młodych ludzi. Choć edukacja – według Franciszka – ulega powszechnej degradacji, a każda próba osiągnięcia jedności jest udaremniana ze względu na interesy, które w większości przypadków z edukacją nie mają wiele wspólnego i trudno jest doprowadzić do uzupełniania się postaw przeciwstawnych; to jednak nauczanie zawsze pozostanie wyrazem miłości społecznej. W niej bowiem istnieją paradoksy: im więcej zwraca się uwagi na detale i poszczególne sprawy każdego studenta, tym bardziej „jego działanie wiąże się z tym, co wspólne, co wielkie, z tym, co buduje naród i państwo”.

    Opis:
    In the course of the evolution of state liability for damages caused in the exercise of public authority the phenomenon of constitutionalisation can be observed, dating from Polish Constitution of March 1921, which guaranteed the citizens a compensation for damages caused by the wrongful act of state authority. Not until the Polish act of state liability for damages caused by public officials entered into force in 1956, was this constitutional guarantee explicitly expressed in a legal act. The legislator partially took into consideration then the solutions propounded by Witold Czachórski, especially in the draft of a decree, which was published in 1946 in the pages of the academic journal “Państwo i Prawo” as a part of his contribution concentrating on the unification of regulations concerning state liability for damages. One of the most important postulates of Witold Czachórski, which is reflected also in contemporary constitutional and statutory legislation, was implementing a method of regulation based on the civil law system, in which a citizen is an equal party to a legal relation and has a claim against the state being a citizen’s equal before a dispute settlement body.

    Celem opracowania jest wykazanie, że podporządkowanie nauczycieli akademickich zatrudnionych na podstawie stosunku pracy nie jest wcale autonomiczne, mimo że powszechnie przyjmuje się, że ich praca charakteryzuje się dużym poziomem niezależności oraz trudno znaleźć tam elementy klasycznego podporządkowania. Okazuje się, że tradycyjny paradygmat pracy podporządkowanej sprawdza się także w odniesieniu do wykonawców twórczych, do których zalicza się również nauczycieli akademickich. Autor artykułu na przykładzie nauczycieli akademickich próbuje udowodnić, że pomimo dokonujących się zmian warunków społeczno-gospodarczych, postępującego rozwoju technologicznego oraz nowych form świadczenia pracy, nadal rola podporządkowania jako zasadniczej cechy odróżniającej stosunek pracy od innych prawnych stosunków zatrudnienia jest kluczowa, a kryterium to stanowi konieczną, najważniejszą konstrukcyjną cechę stosunku pracy i nie należy z niego w żadnym razie rezygnować.
    The aim of the foregoing study is to show that the subordination of academic teachers employed on the basis of an employment relationship is not at all autonomous, although it is generally accepted that their work is characterized by a high level of independence and does not display elements of classical subordination. It turns out that the traditional paradigm of subordinate work also works well in relation to those pursuing creative careers, including academic teachers. Using the example of academic teachers, the author tries to prove that despite the changes in socio-economic conditions, progressive technological development and new forms of work, the role of subordination as an essential feature distinguishing the employment relationship from other legal employment relationships is still crucial, making this criterion a necessary, most important structural feature of the employment relationship which should not be abandoned in any case.

    Opis:
    Reflecting on the question of the contemporary condition of historical thinking, focusing on the case study of Poland, I consider the causes of the crisis of authority of the professional historian in the modern information society, in particular the lack of interaction between academic historiography and society. Against this backdrop, I propose a reflection on a possible modification of the understanding of the historian's profession for the sake of dialogue with the "ordinary" recipient of history.
