Analiza bibliometryczna publikacji członków Koła Naukowego Bibliotekoznawców przy Instytucie Bibliotekoznawstwa i Informacji Naukowej Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w Katowicach (2007–2016) Abstrakt: W artykule zanalizowano publikacje członków Koła Naukowego Bibliotekoznawców działającego przy Instytucie Bibliotekoznawstwa i Informacji Naukowej Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w Katowicach, opublikowane w latach 2007–20161. W analizie zwrócono uwagę na liczbę ogłoszonych przez studentów tekstów wydanych w poszczególnych latach, ujawniając tendencje wzrostowe i spadkowe. Wyszczególniono typy publikacji naukowych członków Koła (elektroniczne i tradycyjne; redakcja książek, autorstwo rozdziałów w książkach oraz artykułów w czasopismach i przestrzeni internetowej). Zbadano zjawisko autorstwa i wieloautorstwa występującego w analizowanych materiałach. Ponadto dokonano podziału tematyki tekstów według Uniwersalnej Klasyfikacji Dziesiętnej.
The article analyses the publications of the members of the Student’s Circle of Library Scientists which operates at the Institute of Library Science and Scholarly Information of the University of Silesia in Katowice, published in the years 2007–20166. The analysis indicates the number of texts which were published by students in the particular years, manifesting upward and downward trends. One enumerated the types of the scholarly publications of the members of the Circle (electronic and traditional ones; editorship of books, authorship of chapters in books and articles in periodicals and on the internet). One examined the phenomenon of the authorship and the multi-authorship which is manifested in the materials which were analysed. One also presented a division of the subject matter of the texts according to the Universal Decimal Classification.

Opis:
The aim of this article is to present the spatial arrangement chosen by teachers of integrated classes in Poland and to define their motivation to make a specific choice with a view to meeting the special needs of their pupils. At the stage of early school education, the space described in the article plays the role of a place that favors the first processes, such as: communication between students, education and upbringing, shaping their mutual relations, transferring messages, shaping skills, creating attitudes and identities. To satisfy the special educational needs of students with disabilities means to adapt the conditions of the – space in terms of architecture, information, communication, and society. About the goal of such processes is to counteract isolation and stigma. The article consists of three parts. The first part contains an introduction and theoretical foundations of the selected topic. The second part shows the results of the author`s own research. The final part presents conclusions.
Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie układu przestrzennego wybranego przez nauczycieli klas integracyjnych w Polsce oraz określenie ich motywacji do dokonania konkretnego wyboru pod kątem zaspokojenia specjalnych potrzeb uczniów. Na etapie edukacji wczesnoszkolnej opisana w artykule przestrzeń pełni rolę miejsca sprzyjającego pierwszym procesom, takim jak: komunikacja między uczniami, edukacja i wychowanie, kształtowanie ich wzajemnych relacji, przekazywanie komunikatów, kształtowanie umiejętności, kreowanie postaw i tożsamości. Zaspokojenie specjalnych potrzeb edukacyjnych uczniów z niepełnosprawnościami polega na dostosowaniu warunków przestrzeni pod względem architektonicznym, informacyjnym, komunikacyjnym i społecznym. Celem takich procesów jest przeciwdziałanie izolacji i stygmatyzacji. Artykuł składa się z trzech części. Pierwsza część zawiera wprowadzenie i teoretyczne podstawy wybranego tematu. W drugiej części przedstawiono wyniki badań własnych autora. Ostatnia część przedstawia wnioski.

The article raises the issue of disruption which may arise in communication between students and teacher of Polish as a foreign language. In the text are presented and discussed examples of linguistic and non-linguistic defects in the utterance of teachers that have influenced the lack of understanding by learning of content, and consequently influenced the effectiveness of the teaching process.

W tekście podjęto jedno z ważnych zagadnień dydaktycznych, jakim jest rozbudzanie motywacji czytelniczych uczniów. Problem ten omówiono, odwołując się do ekstensywnej strategii czytania ujmowanej w perspektywie aksjologicznej, która – w przekonaniu autora – odgrywa ważną roli w procesie edukacji polonistycznej. Założono, że w procesie kształcenia tego rodzaju czy-tania znaczącą rolę mogą odegrać lektury szkolne z kręgu polskiej i obcej literatury pięknej dla młodych czytelników. Zwrócono uwagę na rolę szkolnego polonisty, powszechnie postrzeganego, jako osobę bezradną wobec niechęci uczniów do czytania, motywowania do lektury – zarówno, jako szkolnego obowiązku, jak i czytania własnego.
The text deals with one of important didactic questions, which is evoking the motivation to read in students. This problem is discussed by appealing to the extensive strategy seen from the axiological point of view, which – in author’s opinion – plays a crucial role in the process of education in Polish philology. It was assurred that Polish and foreign fiction set books for young readers can play a vital role in the process of teaching this kind of reading. The author would like to point to the role of a school teacher of Polish, who is commonly perceived as helpless towards students‘unwillingness to read and unable to motivate them to do so – both as a school chore, as well as for their own development.

The study investigates the linguistic and cultural experiences of Erasmus+ students from Portugal at the University of Ostrava in the Czech Republic. Special attention is paid to the chal- lenges encountered by the students in both communication and coping with cultural differences, as well as to their language needs, ways of communicating, attitudes towards the Czech culture, and the role of English in communication. The research tool was a questionnaire covering a number of questions related to the purpose of the study. As the results show, while the intercultural experience was generally enriching and the participants appreciated some interesting aspects of the Czech culture, they were particularly disappointed by the limited number of Czechs able to speak English and some of the academic teachers’ low levels of language proficiency in English. In fact, this is not limited to the lack of language skills, as communication problems can also lead to the perception of the interlocutor as unpleasant and unhelpful.

This article concerns the issue of emotional and social competences of a teacher in the face of the needs of contemporary education, in relation to the global situation caused by the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The state of emergency introduced today is a new context for the changes taking place, challenging every sphere of life, including education. The publication presents reports from selected international and national reports, showing the state of the introduced remote education, which highlighted a multitude of problems for representatives of the school environment. The most important educational problems concern the deteriorating mental condition of pupils and teachers and the crisis in interpersonal relations. Attention was drawn to a neglected area in pedagogy, which is the sphere of emotional and social competences of the student and the teacher, as well as to the necessity of their compulsory inclusion in the problems of research. The article presents the position that school can be an environment for conscious learning of emotions, therefore it is important that teachers have emotional and social competences at an optimal level in order to provide effective support. It is assumed that only emotionally and socially competent teachers can stimulate the development of these competences in pupils. It has been recognised as a new task, challenge and educational need.

Opis:
In this article the author discusses the image of a non-public university in the context of the imageof the local government which functions on the territory where the university is located. The author discusses the mutual influence of both entities and the resulting benefits. In order to illustrate the subject the example has been taken of one of the richest and best-developing local governments in Poland – the Community of Polkowice - which in 2002 decided to establish its own university together with the District (poviat) of Polkowice. The university is financed to a large extent, which is probably an exception in all Poland1 - with funds from the budget of local government. The Lower Silesian University of Entrepreneurship and Technology in Polkowice (DWSPiT) has been functioning on the higher education market for a decade. It has made a significant contribution to the building of a positive image of local authorities and unified the identity of the local community. Even though people from outside Polkowice also study at the university, it is often called a „local government university” or „local university”, alongside the division into public and non-public universities, according to which it was categorized2, according to the law. One of the important things for potential students is the fact that the university is located in the region of Polkowice, which is developing fast and offers the possibility of studying, potential jobs and in the longer perspective also attractive living conditions. The goal of the article is to try to show, on the example of Polkowice and the Lower Silesian University of Entrepreneurship, the impact that a non-public university may have on strengthening the positive image of local government and to present the scope of cooperation between a university and local go- vernment and its image value for the university itself. The subject, due to the limitations imposed by the form of this article, will be limited to only the most important issues.
Celem artykułu jest próba ukazania w zarysie na przykładzie Polkowic i działającej na ich terenie Dolnośląskiej Wyższej Szkoły Przedsiębiorczości i Techniki znaczenia, jakie może mieć niepubliczna uczelnia dla wzmacniania pozytywnego wizerunku samorządu lokalnego oraz zaprezentowanie zakresu współpracy między szkołą wyższą a samorządem i jej wartości wizerunkowej dla samej uczelni. Temat ze względu na ramy artykułu zostanie ograniczony do najistotniejszych, zdaniem autora, kwestii. Autor porusza zagadnienie wizerunku niepublicznej szkoły wyższej w kontekście wizerunku samorządu lokalnego, w obrębie którego uczelni przychodzi funkcjonować oraz wzajemnego wpływu wizerunkowego obu podmiotów na siebie i wynikających z tego korzyści. Dla zobrazowania tematu przywołany zostanie szczególny przykład jednego z najzamożniejszych i najlepiej rozwijających się samorządów w Polsce – Gminy Polkowice, którego władze zdecydowały się w 2002 r., we współpracy z „młodym” powiatem polkowickim, na powołanie własnej uczelni, współfinansowanej w dużej mierze - co stanowi prawdopodobnie ewenement na skalę ogólnopolską1 - z budżetu samorządu. Dolnośląska Wyższa Szkoła Przedsiębiorczości i Techniki w Polkowicach funkcjonuje na rynku edukacyjnym szkolnictwa wyższego od dekady. Nie pozostaje bez znaczenia dla budowy pozytywnego wizerunku samorządu i dla spajania tożsamości społeczności lokalnej. Pomimo, że naukę w niej podejmują także studenci spoza Polkowic, określa się ją mianem „uczelni samorządowej” czy też „lokalnej”, obok podziału na uczelnie publiczne i niepubliczne, w ramach którego została zgodnie z obowiązującym prawem skategoryzowana2. Dla kandydatów na studia zapewne nie jest bez znaczenia pozycja w regionie rozwijających się w szyb-kim tempie Polkowic, oferujących możliwość studiowania, ale i potencjalne miejsca pracy oraz w dalszej perspektywie atrakcyjne warunki do życia.

Surgical internship as a medical student of the sixth year
Opis:
Teaching in surgery, one of the classical big clinical and main disciplines beside internal medicine, needs to be also associated with great attention in regard to a valuable final result at the end of the study of human medicine. In particular, surgery is not only the subject to a large number of lectures it also represents one third (four months) of the compulsory internship (practical year – in German, “Praktisches Jahr”) at the end of the study of medicine. Therefore, medical teaching of students should be always part of serious and steady attempts to optimize course und contents as a component of guiding activities focussing onto the substantial improvement of the study of medicine. In detail, the classical and traditionally established type of teaching, the (oral) lecture, has to be further developed and reasonably completed by numerous interactive and practice-oriented teaching, learning and examining modalities (obligatory or facultative seminars / courses, training in [very] small groups of students, bed-side teaching, individual practical exercises within the SkillsLab, groups of young researchers, research projects in teaching, scientific publications on topics and recommendable experiences ot teaching including students, ”Teach-the-teacher“ projects etc.). Although many novel concepts have been inaugurated and considerable advances have been achieved, there is a steady need for further improvement. In the presented representative but medical school-specific overview, the current complex surgical teaching concept, which has been continuously optimized over the last couple of years, at the Otto-von-Guericke University Medical School with University Hospital of Magdeburg (Germany) is described as a scientific and systematizing document as well as a manuscript associated with the ongoing preparation of an institutional “Teaching Manual” on surgical teaching and training for medical students. It should – last but not least – provide the basis for a public discussion, which vice versa might hopefully and possibly result in further structural reforms of (surgical) teaching in the near future.

The article's main objective was to identify the propensity of students to participate in foreign exchange programmes and the expectations they formulate towards the HEI (Higher Education Institution) in creating conditions conducive to foreign mobility. The article presents a broader context of this mobility, presenting in the first part considerations concerning the essence of the process of internationalisation of HEIs and the strategies created for this process. The research used a multi-method approach (survey method and desk research method), with data triangulation. The assessment of the models of the range of internationalisation of these universities indicated the use of elements of the 'import' and 'export' models. An important aspect of internationalisation is the foreign mobility of both employees and students. Although students perceive the importance of international exchange, their level of knowledge about exchange programmes and interest in foreign mobility is low.
Głównym celem badań zaprezentowanych w artykule była identyfikacja przejawów internacjonalizacji publicznych uczelni ekonomicznych w Polsce oraz rozpoznanie skłonności studentów do uczestnictwa w programach wymiany zagranicznej, a także ich oczekiwań formułowanych pod adresem uczelni w kontekście tworzenia warunków sprzyjających wyjazdom. W badaniach zastosowano podejście multimetodyczne (metodę ankietową i metodę desk research) z triangulacją danych. Ocena modeli zasięgu internacjonalizacji badanych szkół wyższych wskazała na stosowanie elementów modelu „importu” i „eksportu”. Istotnym aspektem umiędzynarodowienia jest mobilność zagraniczna – zarówno pracowników, jak i studentów. Choć studenci dostrzegają istotność wymiany międzynarodowej, to poziom ich wiedzy o programach wymiany i zainteresowanie mobilnością zagraniczną są niskie.

Aim: The aim of my article is to present Piotr Skarga’s Lives of the Saints in a parenetic and pedagogical context. This context includes showing the pedagogical value of the paper, describing the master-student relationship in the Lives of the Saints, which illustrates the examples of pedagogical methods, and presenting the paper from a historical perspective, including motives of its creation. Conclusions: Lives of the Saints is a multifunctional text, but most of all a moralizing one. The text was written mainly to promote Catholicism and to deplore Protestants. This fact was important for a historical context. The scientific value of Lives is small, but it’s extremely valuable in terms of moralizing, parenetic and pedagogical. The paper has features that make it a part of the system of parenetic pedagogy. Authority and references made to the authority constitute the basic pedagogical tool used by the author to show the human ideal. An extremely important thread in the paper, especially from the pedagogical perspective, is the master-student relationship. It shows the importance of the teacher/ master role in: a human life, development of faith and motivation in the pursuit of sacredness. Within Catholicism, Life of the Saints showed various ways to approach sacredness, which was a parenetic and pedagogical ideal. The paper promoted an individual approach to each person. Lives of the Saints had to inspire people to lead a better life.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the educational system in Poland, especially in the field of teaching the Polish language to migrant children. The aim of this article is to present the results of a review of available scientific studies and other research reports on the situation of this group during the pandemic. The summary of the article contains conclusions on the potential long-term consequences of the pandemic period for the functioning of migrant children in Polish schools, their educational progress, including learning the Polish language, as well as the process of social and cultural integration, taking into account the whole family.

W niniejszym artykule podjęto próbę wyszczególnienia i opisania tych kompetencji, którymi powinien dysponować nauczyciel języków obcych, pracujący z uczniem uzdolnionym językowo na lekcji języka obcego. Punktem wyjścia dla podejmowanych rozważań jest omówienie zapisów prawnych, dotyczących kształcenia uczniów uzdolnionych, przedstawienie zakresu kompetencji nauczyciela języków obcych oraz scharakteryzowanie modelu kształcenia w szkole uczniów uzdolnionych językowo. Zasadniczą część artykułu stanowi analiza kompetencji w zakresie identyfikowania oraz rozwijania tychże zdolności na lekcji języka obcego.
This paper attempts to list and describe competences that a foreign language teacher working with linguistically talented students should apply during foreign language classes. A discussion of the current legal regulations concerning the education of linguistically talented students, presentation of a range of competences of foreign language teachers and characteristics of a school education model for linguistically talented students will serve as a departure point for the said considerations. A substantial part of the paper deals with an analysis of competences in the area of identifying and developing those skills during foreign language lessons.

Wstęp. Wybór kierunku studiów przez kandydata można analizować w odniesieniu do jego statusu ekonomicznego. Celem artykułu było zbadanie wpływu sytuacji społeczno-ekonomicznej studenta na wybór kierunku studiów. Materiał i metody. Ankietą objęto 514 studentów pierwszego roku PSW im. Papieża Jana Pawła II w Białej Podlaskiej. Wyniki. W wyniku analiz stwierdzono, iż najkorzystniejszą sytuację materialną posiadali studenci kierunku ratownictwo medyczne, najmniej korzystną zaś na filologii, specjalność filologia rosyjska. U blisko 70,0% badanych oboje rodzice pracują i osiągają stałe dochody. Średni poziom dochodu netto na jedną osobę wyniósł 810,00 zł. Gospodarstwo domowe studenta liczyło średnio 3,9 osoby. Wnioski. Student PSW posiada dochody na 1 osobę w gospodarstwie domowym na poziomie do 1000 zł (blisko o 30% niższe niż przeciętny miesięczny dochód rozporządzalny na osobę w 2015 r. – GUS, 2016 w Polsce), z 3-4 osobami w gospodarstwie domowym, w którym oboje rodziców są aktywni zawodowo, głównie jako zatrudnieni u kogoś.
Introduction. The moment students choose their degree course allows for analysing their economic situation. The aim of the article was to research the impact of socio-economic conditions on students’ selection of the degree course. Material and methods. The survey involved 514 first-year students of Pope John Paul II State School of Higher Education in Biała Podlaska. Results. In the research process, it was found that Emergency Medicine Department conducted the best analysis of the financial situation of students, whereas the students of Russian Philology Department were the least tested ones. In nearly 70.0% of the respondents, both parents work, having a steady income. The average level of net income amounted to PLN 810,00 per capita. The student’s household consisted of, on average, 3.9 persons. Conclusions. The average PSW student’s income per capita in the household falls in the range of up to PLN 1000, i.e. nearly 30% lower than the disposible monthly income per capita in 2015 (the Polish Central Statistical Office, 2016), with 3-4 persons in the household, in which both parents are professionally active.

Aim: The article discusses selected problems related to the functioning of universities at the turn of the century, with particular emphasis on the world of values and the master-student relationship. Methods: An analysis of selected scientific studies dedicated to the subject of higher education and education. Results: Based on the above analysis, there is anxiety about the status quo of this institution and anxiety about the master-student relationship. In the face of constant reforms of the university, the quality of these relations is also changing, while these relations are the foundation favoring or inhibiting creative work. Conclusions: Reforms are necessary and inevitable, but they should be accompanied by care for the world of universal values that should always be present in places such as universities. Therefore, it is worth initiating and conducting discussions on the values and relationships that build a modern university.
