In 1945, the area of the present parish in Sadlinki was mostly inhabited by Protestants. After the end of World War II, their place was taken by Poles, mostly Catholics. There was a post-Evangelical temple here, built in the interwar period. It was taken over by Catholics as early as 1945. The church became a branch of the parish in Nebrowo Wielkie. In 1958 the ruler of the Warmia Diocese appointed a priest. Formally, he was the vicar of the parish in Nebrowo Wielkie. The Warmia Docese was not allowed to rebuild the pastorʼs house, which was to become a presbytery. The priest lived in a private building, which was part of a farm. The priest could buy them because he had the required agricultural education. Despite the efforts of the rulers of the Warmia Diocese and the faithful, the state authorities did not agree to the erection of a parish in Sadlinki until 1973. After its establishment, the current chaplain did not obtain the approval of these authorities to take the office of the parish priest. The obstacles only ceased in 1982, with the change of the chaplain.

A parish is a certain community of the Christian faithful constituted in a particular church, whose pastoral care is entrusted to a pastor (parochus) as its proper pastor (pastor) under the authority of the diocesan bishop. This article takes up the idea of entrusting the parish to an institute or society. The entrusting of a parish can be made either perpetually or for a specific, predetermined time. In either case, it is to be made by means of a written agreement between the diocesan bishop and the competent superior of the institute or society, which expressly and accurately defines, among other things, the work to be accomplished, the persons to be assigned to the parish, and the financial arrangements.

Liber beneficiorum by Jan Długosz is one of the basic sources enabling researchers to learn about the Catholic Church in the diocese of Cracow in the second half of the 15th century. The author's intention was to create a work which could help to defend the rights of various ecclesiastical institutions to retain different elements of endowments. The source, therefore, contains descriptions of various types of income and their origins. Among the important groups of benefices described by Długosz were parish churches. One of the three essential parts of the work was devoted to them. The previously written description allowed the author to gather comparable information on the diocese of Cracow, concerning, among others, the dedication of churches, the material of which they were built and the properties of the place in which the churches were located. Above all, however, Liber beneficiorum enables researchers to familiarize themselves with the sources of income, such as tithes, rents or others. The undoubted advantage of Jan Długosz’s work is the precise distinction between the payers of particular services. Jan Długosz in many cases not only presented priests’ sources of income but also included its estimated value. Another important thing is a presentation of rural population’s payments made in kind and income from priests’ own farmstead. In addition, Liber beneficiorum allows researchers to learn about the parish districts of the described churches, although it was not the main reason for the creation of this work. Such a wide variety of information included in Jan Dlugosz's work provides tremendous research opportunities. Unfortunately, this is not the ideal source. The main disadvantages of Liber beneficiorum are numerous omissions. The work in many cases does not give any information about a number of parish churches. In other cases, where the description is included, it contains a lot of gaps. In this situation, it is necessary to supplement the information provided by Jan Długosz. The aforementioned wealth of information in Liber beneficiorum requires that supplements should be sought in a very diverse source material. Moreover, these are not the sources contemporary with Jan Dlugosz’s work. In most cases, they come from later periods, mainly from the 16th century. These are primarily church visitations and sources of fiscal character - both church and secular. They sometimes fill in the gaps in the number of parishes, their income, the size of parish districts etc. Unfortunately, using sources quite distant chronologically does not allow researchers to refer the obtained information directly to the times of Jan Dlugosz. This, in turn, requires tedious verification of the obtained data.

The parish in Abramowice was mentioned for the first time in 1398, when the heir of the village, Sieciech, gave about 50 ha of unsettled land to the newly built church dedicated to The Holy Trinity, the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. James. In the Middle Ages, the parish also included neighbouring villages: Dominów, Skrzynice, Śmiłów (present Ćmiłów) and Wilczopole. In addition, the town of Głusk, after its foundation in 1687, became a part of the parish of Abramowice. In the 19th century, the following villages, from the Lublin parish, were incorporated into the Abramowice parish: Dziesiąta, Żabia Wola as well as settlements created about half of the 19th century: Kalinówka, Kliny and Kaleń. In the 20th century new parishes were established in some of these places. At present the Abramovice parish, apart from the districts of Lublin-Abramowice and Głusk, includes: Dominów and Wólka Abramowicka, located in the district of Głusk. Analysing the canonical visitations of the 18th century, it was possible to determine that the parish church in Abramowice dedicated to St. James the Greater Apostle had been built in 1674, and consecrated by the Bishop of Krakow Mikołaj Oborski the following year. It is also mentioned that originally the church was dedicated only to St. James the Great, but later other dedications were added: the Transfiguration, the Assumption and St. Adalbert. The church which have survived until today was built between 1786 and 1790 on the initiative of Rev. Wincenty Jezierski. It was consecrated in 1796 by the bishop of Chełm and Lublin Wojciech Skarszewski. The church was expanded in 1906 in accordance with the design of the famous Warsaw architect Stefan Szyller. Among other buildings which have survived are the neo-gothic bell tower and morgue, dating back to the end of the 19th century, and the presbytery of the years 1727-1728, expanded at the end of the 18th century, with a monumental six-column portico.

The text contains information on the socio-religious role of a parish working in a migrant comunity. On the example of parishioners’ involvement in various forms of parish activities, the potential of the parish is presented as a center of life not only in a religious terms, but also in social, cultural or economic issues connected based on ethnic background. The mentioned information are illustrated with data from publicly available sociological research on religiosity, social activities in parishes and forecasts for the future direction of changes in these areas.

Opis:
Each year an increasing interest in university studies leading to a degree in church music can be observed. Students of both Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes demonstrate profound knowledge and skills. Their music profile is characterized by four dispositions: an organist, a conductor, a cantor and a music animator. A question arises, however, whether these studies face up to the expectations of both the students themselves and their future employers. A survey carried out among seventeen graduates of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław aims to provide an answer to questions concerning their professional paths. A few aspects have been analysed: terms of employment, working hours and working conditions, the graduates’ contribution into the cultural activity of the parish and, last but not least, the relevance of various elements of their education in their professional life. As well as that, the article also presents some observations regarding the solutions to the problems disclosed by the survey, focusing on broadly defined education, on promoting good standards and the necessity of cooperation between the Church and the laity. The Author of the article – inspired by the words of Pope John Paul II – is trying to outline a perspective which even individual musicians need to attempt to work towards. She proceeds to conclude that the “world we live in needs beauty so as not to slip into hopelessness. Beauty, just like truth, pours joy into human hearts.” (John Paul II “A Letter to Artists”)

The post-war picture of damage to parish churches of the Lublin diocese presented in the paper was based on the material gathered primarily in the Archdiocesan Archive of Lublin. The sources for the tabular study are derived from the forms containing information on damage to churches. These forms were sent by the administrators of the parishes to the Curia in Lublin in 1948. Their analysis reveals that a great number of churches in the Lublin diocese were affected by war. The deaneries which suffered the most serious damage were as follows: Zamość, Hrubieszów, Tarnogród, Tomaszów (south-east and east ones) as well as Puławy and Opole (west deaneries). Due to the shortage of material, it was impossible to present the whole damage done to all the churches in the Lublin diocese. The fragmentary presentation of the losses the parish churches in the Lublin diocese sustained during World War II shows that in most cases the external elements of the churches were damaged: roofs, towers, window panes, walls, fences; moreover, several churches were converted into granaries or Orthodox churches, while others were burnt down. The commitment of the faithful engaged in rebuilding the churches, as well as the Committee for the Reconstruction of the Churches in the Lublin Diocese set up by the Ordinary Bishop of Lublin, Stefan Wyszyński,  played the major role in the restoration of the ruined churches.
Przedstawiony w tekście powojenny obraz zniszczeń kościołów parafialnych diecezji lubelskiej, został oparty na materiale zgromadzonym przede wszystkim w lubelskim Archiwum Archidiecezjalnym. Podstawą do jego tabelarycznego opracowania stały się formularze zawierające informacje o zniszczeniach kościołów, nadsyłane w 1948 roku przez administratorów poszczególnych parafii do kurii biskupiej w Lublinie. Z ich zestawienia wynika, że znaczna liczba świątyń diecezji lubelskiej została dotknięta skutkami wojny. Największych zniszczeń doznały dekanaty południowo-wschodnie i wschodnie jak dekanat: zamojski, hrubieszowski, tarnogrodzki, tomaszowski, ale także dekanaty zachodnie jak: puławski i opolski. Z uwagi na braki w materiale archiwalnym nie było możliwe ukazanie w tekście pełnej skali zniszczeń, z uwzględnieniem wszystkich kościołów diecezji lubelskiej. Z przedstawionego przeze mnie cząstkowego obrazu strat w świątyniach parafialnych diecezji lubelskiej po II wojnie światowej wynika, że na skutek działań wojennych przeważająca liczba kościołów doznała uszkodzeń zewnętrznych w postaci zniszczonych pokryć i wież, wybitych szyb, uszkodzonych ścian, parkanów; ponadto kilka świątyń zamieniono na magazyny zbożowe, na cerkwie prawosławne lub też zostało spalonych. Ofiarność wiernych, zaangażowanych w odbudowę miejsc kultu, a także powołany przez biskupa ordynariusza lubelskiego – Stefana Wyszyńskiego – Komitet Odbudowy Kościołów Diecezji Lubelskiej odegrały największą rolę w reparacji uszkodzonych i odbudowie zrujnowanych świątyń.

The article presents the effects of research conducted in the years 2012-2015 in 60 archives of the Roman Catholic parishes in the Lublin region. Its aim was, among others, to catalogue all the preserved register books whose entries started before December 1900. Similar attempts were made at the beginning of the 20th century, and Henryk Wiercieński was one of the precursors in this field. In the region under investigation, register books were based on three types of forms in the period from the 16th to the 19th centuries. In the Old Polish period, a Tridentine form was used, in the years 1797-1810 – an Austrian form, and from August 1810 onwards – so-called Polish form. An annexe to the following study includes the list of the preserved register books of seven parishes.
Artykuł prezentuje efekty kwerendy prowadzonej w latach 2012-2015 w 60 archiwach parafii rzymskokatolickich Lubelszczyzny. Jej celem było m.in. skatalogowanie wszystkich zachowanych ksiąg metrykalnych, w których wpisy rozpoczynają się przed grudniem 1900 r. Podobne próby podejmowano już na początku XX w., a do prekursorów w tym zakresie należał Henryk Wiercieński. Na omawianym terenie w okresie od XVI do XIX w. metryki sporządzano według trzech rodzajów formularzy. W okresie staropolskim posługiwano się formularzem trydenckim, w latach 1797-1810 formularzem austriackim, a od sierpnia 1810 r. tzw. formularzem polskim. W aneksie niniejszego studium umieszczono wykaz zachowanych ksiąg metrykalnych 7 parafii. Pozostała część materiałów zostanie opublikowana na łamach kolejnych tomów czasopisma „Archiwa Biblioteki i Muzea Kościelne”.

This article presents the general and theoretical problem concerning the agreement (conventio) entrusting a parish to a clerical religious institute or to a clerical society of apostolic life (canon 520 of the 1983 Code of Canon Law). The author distinguishes contractus from conventio in the Latin Code now in force, considering the agreement specified in canon 520 of the 1983 Code as a public law contract. He then analyzes the parties to this agreement and rejects the opinion that canon 520 of the 1983 Code could be applied directly to religious entities other than those specified in the above canon. Finally, the author analyzes the essentialia conventionis, i.e. the essential and sufficient elements of the commented agreement: quae actum ipsum essentialiter constituunt (canons 124 § 1 and 520 § 1 of the 1983 Code). According to the author three elements are necessary to reach the consensus between parties to the agreement: (1) the designation of the parties in accordance with canon 520 of the 1983 Code; (2) the essence of the agreement: the commitment of a parish, consisting in the pastoral care of the Christian faithful who form the community; (3) the specification of the entrusted parish as an object of the commitment. Lastly, the author criticizes the legal technicalities adopted in the commented canon.

Until the middle of the 19th century, the Catholic population of Olsztynek and its surrounding areas belonged to the Culm diocese. As a result of the decree of the Holy See of 1859, this area was incorporated into the Warmia diocese. The development of ministry was initiated in 1866 by the rector of Gryźliny. A ministry institution was established in Olsztynek in 1868. The first priest responsible for the religious life of the Catholics in this area was Julius Albrecht. After his death in 1878, there was no Catholic priest in Olsztynek for more than 5 years, due to the Kulturkampf. Olsztynek was given the rights of a mission parish in 1870. One of the main problems of the local community was the venue. The services were held in a chapel whose size did not correspond to the increasing number of Catholics. Therefore, in 1885 it was decided that a church should be built. Thanks to the initiative and consistent attitude of the priest Paul Jedzink, sufficient funds were collected to start the building works. The foundation stone of the new temple was laid on 10th November 1886, and the consecration took place on 26th September 1888. For a few years, building debts were paid. Olsztynek was given the rights of an ordinary parish in 1895. During the World War I, the church bells were requisitioned. The church was also damaged as a result of an artillery attack, but necessary repairs were made after the war. The roof was covered with copper sheet and new bells were cast. The number of parishioners increased constantly, from 520 in 1868 to 1637 in 1938. In the area of the parish, numerous associations and religious organisations were active. In order to carry out the building investments, there were endeavours to obtain funds from outside the parish, most of all from the Saint Boniface and Adalbert Association.

The present parish church in Włodzimierz Wołyński was founded in the mid-18th century by a person who was born there, Bishop Adam Woyna Orański, a suffragan of Kamieniec, who also consecrated it. This church was given to the Carmelites from the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary, called the Carmelites of the Ancient Observance. In the 19th century alone, the church burnt down twice (1800, 1833). Thanks to the commitments of the local shepherds of the diocese, parish priests and the faithful, not only was it rebuilt, but it was also renovated and modernized (1856). The above description of the parish church in Włodzimierz gives un information about its history, reconstruction, liturgical implements, the interior and parish priests. It also presents the property of the parish, the number as well as the condition of the chapels in the parish.
Fundatorem obecnego kościoła farnego we Włodzimierzu Wołyńskim był w połowie XVIII wieku tamtejszy rodak, biskup Adam Woyna Orański, sufragan kamieniecki, który konsekrował świątynię. W kościele tym zostali osadzeni karmelici z Zakonu Braci Najświętszej Maryi Panny, popularnie nazywani karmelitami trzewiczkowymi. W samym tylko XIX wieku kościół ten ulegał dwukrotnie (1800, 1833) pożarowi. Dzięki zaangażowaniu tamtejszych pasterzy diecezji, proboszczów i wiernych nie tylko każdorazowo był odbudowywany, lecz także remontowany i modernizowany (1856). Na podstawie powyższego opisu kościoła parafialnego we Włodzimierzu dowiadujemy się o jego historii, odbudowach, wyposażeniu w sprzęt liturgiczny, wystroju oraz o proboszczach. Zamieszcza opis dóbr materialnych przynależnych do parafii, ilość i stan kaplic na terenie parafii.

Artykuł ukazuje zarys zarządzania ryzykiem w zakresie doboru środków bezpieczeństwa. Postuluje procedury w zakresie ograniczania ryzyka względem bezpieczeństwa ochrony danych osobowych w parafii, a w szczególności określa metodykę i zasady zarządzania ryzykiem związanym z przetwarzaniem danych i ich przechowywaniem. Analiza skutków zagrożeń i prawdopodobieństwa ich wystąpienia ocenia skalę tychże skutków, wskazuje na przykładowe zagrożenia na płaszczyźnie bezpieczeństwa informacji oraz dobór środków bezpieczeństwa, czyli sposobów postępowania w konkretnych sytuacjach zapobiegających ich utracie. Sugerowane działania zmniejszające ryzyko mogą przyczynić się do organizacji systemu ochrony danych osobowych w parafii, zwłaszcza przez ściśle określony i przestrzegany system zabezpieczeń danych.
The article shows the profile of risk management in the range of selection of security solutions.It presents procedures for limiting the risk related to the security of personal data protection in a parish, and in particular defines the methodology and principles of risk management connected with data processing and storage. The analysis of the effects of threats and the likelihood of their occurrence assesses the scale of these effects, indicates examples of threats in the area of information security and selection of security measures, i.e. ways to act in specific situations to prevent their loss. Suggested risk reduction measures can contribute to the organization of a personal data protection system in a parish, especially through a clearly-defined and observed data security system.

The first Catholic Mass in Morąg was celebrated on 17th October 1869 by the priest Anton Gerigk. Since then, he celebrated religious services in that place four times a year. One of the places of worship was an inn called “Gasthof zur Ostbahn”. The priest August Blank from Miłakowo made efforts to buy real property that would be the basis for the building of a mission station in the town. Catholic services in Morąg were resumed in 1884 (after a 4 years’ break) by the priest Anton Malies from Pasłęk. The permission to build a chapel and a presbytery was obtained on 29th October 1888. The investment was launched in 1892, but, due to the lack of funds, the plans to build the presbytery were temporarily abandoned. The architectural plans were created by Otto, head of the planning and building office from Chojnice. The foundation stone of the new temple in Morąg was laid on 3rd August 1892, and the dedication of the church to Saint Joseph took place on 4th October 1893. In 1899, the building of a presbytery was commenced in the town. Stephan von Lipinski was appointed as the first priest in Morąg. The parish was founded on 25th November 1903. The said pastoral institution was supported financially by, among others, the Boniface Association in Paderborn.

Dziewiętnastowieczne, zachodniopruskie Gowidlino, należące do parafii w Sierakowicach, było usytuowane na zachodnim krańcu powiatu kartuskiego. Władze diecezji chełmińskiej, obawiając się wpływów protestantyzmu, postanowiły erygować gowidlińską parafię, co nastąpiło 13 stycznia 1866 r. Podporządkowano jej także graniczne miejscowości leżące w prowincji pomorskiej, a zatem stanowiące diasporę Kościoła katolickiego. Dzięki temu placówka duszpasterska otrzymywała pomoc ze strony organizacji i stowarzyszeń kościelnych, które wspierały działalność misyjną. Wśród nich warto wymienić Stowarzyszenie św. Bonifacego i Wojciecha w Pelplinie. Gowidliński kościół pw. Niepokalanego Poczęcia Najświętszej Maryi Panny został wzniesiony w latach 1866–1868.
The nineteenth‑century, West Prussian Gowidlino, belonging to the Sierakowice parish, was situated in the western part of the Kartuzy county. The authorities of the Bishopric of Culm, fearing Protestant influences, founded a parish in Gowidlino on 13 January 1866. Villages near the border, located in the Province of Pomerania and belonging to the diaspora of the Bishopric of Culm, were subordinate to it. The pastoral institution received help from organisations and Church associations which supported missionary activity, including the Boniface and Adalbert Association in Pelplin. The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary church in Gowidlino was built in the years 1866‒1868. The elements of the interior decoration were mostly ordered in artists’ workshops located in western German provinces. Johannes Nepomuk von der Marwitz, who gave considerable support for the building investments of the church, was the protector of the parish. For more than 20 years, the institution was financially supported by the Diocese of Passau. Since 1876, every six weeks, the priest of Gowidlino celebrated Masses in Karwno, which was located in the Province of Pomerania. There was a Catholic elementary school with two teachers, one of whom also gave religion lessons in the Evangelical school in Mydlita.

The Evangelicals of Bralin had to wait very long for their own place of prayer - until mid 19th century. Initially they could use a schoolroom and later a room in the town hall. It was only in the years 1866-1867 that a church dedicated to St. John the Evangelist, which today, was built in the market square. It was erected as a brick structure, unplastered (Rohbau), in the so-called arcaded style (Rundbogenstil) according to a unique government design created by Berlin architects with the participation of Friedrich August Stiiler. The polychromy of the interior, which has survived till the present day, comes from 1917 and commemorates the jubilee of the church's 50th anniversary as well as the solemnly celebrated 400th anniversary of the Reformation. Pastor Zenon Bessert was the last permanent administrator of the Evangelical parish in Bralin, after 1920 it passed in the care of ministers from Kępno. The church is an exceptional example of well preserved Evangelical buildings that deserves to be placed under the special care of the conservator of historical architecture.
