Opis:
In the paper the risks to which the patient is exposed while receiving a medical service have been analyzed. All treatments related to blood collection from the patient deserve much attention. It consists of a number of principles and procedures regarding the patient's health safety as well as safety of a person providing this service. Prevention and preventive actions in the aspect of patient safety in the face of threats resulting from the nature of medical services provided are a priority. Due to preventive action it is possible to avoid the effects of exposure to biological hazards, including the possibility of becoming infected with HIV, HCV and HBV. In the paper the results of a questionnaire survey carried out in selected blood stations of the Śląskie Voivodeship have been presented. The questionnaire is able to collect the information about patient awareness on the risks of the medical service (blood collection).

Paper discussed the principles of implementing the system of technical management of workplace safety in a manufacturing plant. The employer's obligations as regards health and safety, the rights and obligations of the employee are described. One of the decisive elements of the work safety system is the technical condition of machines and devices. The principles and actions that have to be taken in this field are briefly described. The assumptions of the company management system developed for the safety of work are given.

Artykuł zajmuje się problemem dotyczącym wpływu rozpuszczalników organicznych na organizm ludzki. Przedstawiono w nim analizę, a także identyfikację podstawowych zagrożeń, niebezpieczeństw, chorób przez nie powodowanych i uciążliwości, jakie mogą wystąpić w zakładzie chemicznym, zajmującym się produkcją rozpuszczalników organicznych. Zaprezentowano metody, jakie mogą zostać zastosowane celem zapobiegania negatywnym skutkom oddziaływania rozpuszczalników na pracowników.
The article deals with the problem concerning the effect of organic solvents on human body. It shows the analysis of the effect of organic solvents on the body of the people, as well as the identification of the main risks, dangers and nuisances caused by diseases that can occur in a chemical involved in production of organic solvents. The article indicates what methods may be applied in order to prevent the negative effects of the impact on employees.

The article addressed issues related to the safety culture. Desirable and undesirable safety culture elements were presented. Such elements of safety culture as the environment and the working conditions and behavior and attitudes of employees were examined in the empirical part of the study.

Opis:
As a signatory to the UN Declaration on road safety and member of the EU, Poland has an obligation to comply with relevant EU policies and in particular to halve the overall number of road deaths by 2020. To monitor the progress in reaching the targets, the road safety situation must be evaluated and its processes understood. For this purpose regional and national road safety observatories were launched in Poland, which triggered the need to develop special methods and tools to assess trends and how different factors affect risk, particularly in the short and mid-term perspective. One of these tools can be structural time-series models to explain how trends change and forecast realistic scenarios of change. We can also use models to simulate the effects of sources of risk on selected road accident consequences on sections of Poland’s road network.

Opis:
The paper presents an algorithm of recommended waterway parameters determination based on relationships derived from actual empirical research (a combination of PIANC and Canadian methods). These relationships are mostly discontinuous functions (e.g.: of ship type variable, speed, method of determining the position, etc.), which can be approximated by continuous spline functions. Application built in the C# allows determining the recommended minimum width of the waterway, width increase due to the accuracy of the vessel positioning method, and the radius of waterway bends for the five input variables of the ship and from ten to sixteen input variables of the area.
W artykule przedstawiono algorytm wyznaczenia zalecanych parametrów toru wodnego oparty o pozyskane z badań rzeczywistych zależności empiryczne (kombinacja metody PIANC i kanadyjskiej). Zależności te są przeważnie funkcjami nieciągłymi (np. zmiennej typu statku, prędkości, metody określenia pozycji itd.), które można aproksymować ciągłymi funkcjami sklejanymi. Zbudowana aplikacja w środowisku C# umożliwia wyznaczenie zalecanej minimalnej szerokości toru, powiększenia szerokości ze względu na dokładność okre-ślenia pozycji statku oraz promienia łuku zakola dla pięciu zmiennych wejściowych statku i od dziesięciu do szesnastu zmiennych wejściowych akwenu.

W artykule zaprezentowano przesłanki wdrażania zintegrowanego systemu zarządzania (ZSZ), charakterystykę najczęściej integrowanych systemów zarządzania, wady i zalety integracji oraz trudności podczas wdrażania ZSZ i rekomendacje dotyczące skuteczności integracji ZSZ.
Nowadays, organisations are constantly looking for methods to improve their efficiency and to guarantee them a competitive advantage, sustainable profitable growth and ability to survive in a turbulent environment. An increasing popularity of implementation of certified management systems has been noticed. The most often integrated management system are eg. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001. The paper presents the conditions for the implementation of an integrated management system (IMS), the characteristics of the most integrated management systems, the advantages and disadvantages of integration and the difficulties in the implementation of IMS and recommendations regarding the effectiveness of the integration of IMS.

Opis:
The article presents a case study; an analysis and a proposal concerning the improvement of the conditions of occupational health and safety in a reloading terminal of a logistics company. The specificity of the workplace means that employees are exposed to a permanent overload of the musculoskeletal system, which is determined in the process of transporting loads of significant mass. After the analysis, the introduction of changes in the conditions of safe and hygienic work at selected positions was suggested. Qualitative research using the observation method, as well as a quantitative approach after introducing changes in working conditions show a change in employees' attitudes to their work, as well as their higher performance. After a year of operation of the proposed and introduced changes, it was decided to introduce them for new employees and external companies working at the transshipment terminal.

Purpose: The purpose of this publication is to investigate the linear correlation relationship between the deployment of five certified management systems (ISO 9001:2015; ISO 14001:2015; ISO 27001:2013 and ISO 45001:2018) in organizations operating within the European Union. Design/methodology/approach: Critical literature analysis. Analysis of secondary sources - data about number of certifications (ISO 9001; ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 22000, ISO 27001) in EU countries in 2018. Findings: The publication focuses on the analysis of quantitative relations between the industry standards that make up the integrated management system. The focus was on the three most common systems: quality management system (ISO 9001:2015), environmental management system (ISO 14001:2015) and occupational health and safety management system (ISO 45001:2018). In addition, the analysis took into account two systems often occurring as a component of integrated systems: ISO 27001:2013 information security management system and ISO 22000:2018 food safety management system, which are industry standards that make up the integrated management system. Originality/value: Detailed analysis of relations between numbers of main ISO certificates in EU countries.

Purpose: The aim of the paper is to analyze relations between the implementation of industry management systems in European Union countries. Design/methodology/approach: Critical literature analysis. Analysis of statistic data about: quality management system (ISO 9001:2015), environmental management system (ISO 14001:2015) and occupational health and safety management system (ISO 45001:2018) in European Union countries. Findings: The publication focuses on the analysis of quantitative relations between the industry standards that make up the integrated management system. The analysis of data concerning the number of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 27001:2013, ISO 22000:2018 and ISO 45001:2018 certificates implemented in the European Union countries allows to conclude that there are correlations between the number of implemented particular standards. In particular, the presence of a standard concerning the quality management system ISO 9001 is positively correlated with all other analyzed certified management systems. The results of the analysis support the H1 hypothesis, which says: the presence of other industry management systems is positively correlated with the presence of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system in organizations. Originality/value: In the paper we found that in most European Union countries, implementation of particular standards, especially ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, is strongly correlated.

Zarządzanie bezpieczeństwem jest specyficznym rodzajem zarządzania, ze względu na złożoność i wieloaspektowość ujmowania bezpieczeństwa. Obejmuje szereg działań wymagających planowania, organizowania, motywowania (w tym przewodzenia) oraz kontrolowania procesów zarządczych realizowanych w poszczególnych podsystemach. Znaczącą rolę w sprawnym funkcjonowaniu tychże podsystemów odgrywa administracja publiczna pełniąca rolę służebną, a przy tym pierwszoplanową z perspektywy kontaktów z odbiorcą – obywatelem. A artykule przedstawiono korzyści płynące z efektywnego komunikowania się administracji publicznej z otoczeniem poprzez wykorzystanie public relations. Wykazano, że idealnym narzędziem wspomagającym jest koncepcja marketingu relacji, będąca również idealną płaszczyzną kształtowania kultury bezpieczeństwa poprzez lojalność i otwartość władzy na potrzeby indywidualnego odbiorcy (obywatela).
Security management is a specific type of management, due to the complexity and multifaceted nature of the security recognition. It includes a number of activities that require planning, organizing, motivating (including conducting) and controlling management processes implemented in each subsystem. A significant role in the efficient functioning of these subsystems is played by the public administration, which plays a serving role, and at the same time a priority from the perspective of contacts with the recipient – a citizen. Considering above, the aim of the study was to present the benefits of effective communication of the public administration with the environment through the use of public relations. It has been shown that the ideal tool for assisting is the concept of relationship marketing, which is also an ideal platform for shaping the security culture through loyalty and openness of power to the needs of the individual recipient (citizen).
