A Haar wavelet operational matrix is applied to fractional integration, which has not been undertaken before. The Haar wavelet approximating method is used to reduce the fractional Volterra and Abel integral equations to a system of algebraic equations. A global error bound is estimated and some numerical examples with smooth, nonsmooth, and singular solutions are considered to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the developed method.

Opis:
We study the existence and uniqueness of the solution of a fractional boundary value problem with conformable fractional derivation of the Caputo type, which increases the interest of this study. In order to study this problem we have introduced a new definition of fractional integral as an inverse of the conformable fractional derivative of Caputo, therefore, the proofs are based upon the reduction of the problem to a equivalent linear Volterra-Fredholm integral equations of the second kind, and we have built the minimum conditions to obtain the existence and uniqueness of this solution. The analytical study is followed by a complete numerical study.

Opis:
A one dimensional heat equation in a semi-infinite medium controlled through a heat source depending on the delayed heat flux at the extremum is studied. By reducing the problem to a delayed Volterra integral equation with a weakly singular kernel, we find conditions on the initial datum and on the source term of the equation to control the asymptotic behaviour of the mean temperatures.

In this paper we study the dynamical behavior of linear discrete-time fractional systems. The first main result is that the norm of the difference of two different solutions of a time-varying discrete-time Caputo equation tends to zero not faster than polynomially. The second main result is a complete description of the decay to zero of the trajectories of one-dimensional time-invariant stable Caputo and Riemann-Liouville equations. Moreover, we present Volterra convolution equations, that are equivalent to Caputo and Riemann-Liouvile equations and we also show an explicit formula for the solution of systems of time-invariant Caputo equations.

Let A be a closed linear operator in a Banach space E. In the study of the nth-order abstract Cauchy problem $u^{(n)}(t) = Au(t)$, t ∈ ℝ, one is led to considering the linear Volterra equation (AVE) $u(t) = p(t) + A ʃ_{0}^{t} a(t-s)u(s)ds$, t ∈ ℝ, where $a(·) ∈ L_{loc}^{1}(ℝ)$ and p(·) is a vector-valued polynomial of the form $p(t) = ∑_{j=0}^n 1/(j!) x_j t^j$ for some elements $x_j ∈ E$. We describe the spectral properties of the operator A through the existence of slowly growing solutions of the (AVE). The main tool is the notion of Carleman spectrum of a vector-valued function. Moreover, an extension of a theorem of Pólya in complex analysis is obtained and applied to the individual "Ax = 0" and "Tx = x" problem.

In the paper we consider a nonlinear control system governed by the Volterra integral operator. Using a version of the global implicit function theorem we prove that the control system under consideration is well-posed and robust, i.e. for any admissible control u there exists a uniquely defined trajectory xu which continuously depends on control u and the operator [formula] is continuously differentiable. The novelty of this paper is, among others, the application of the Bielecki norm in the space of solutions which allows us to weaken standard assumptions.

In this article, homotopy analysis method is successfully applied to find the approximate solution of Caputo fractional Volterra integro-differential equation. The reliability of the method and reduction in the size of the computational work give this method a wider applicability. Also, the behavior of the solution can be formally determined by analytical approximate. Moreover, we proved the existence and convergence of the solution. Finally, an example is included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed technique.

W artykule poszukuje  sie funkcji produkcji pojedynczego produktu w przedsiebiorstwie finansującym szkolenia ze środków uzyskanych ze sprzedazy tego produktu.  Funkcja produkcji ma zalozona forme  równania całkowego Volterry a kryterium optymalizacji jest krótkoterminowa  maksymalizacja zysku, w którym praca jest jedynym czynnikiem produkcji.  W badaniu wykorzystano funkcję Cobba-Douglasa z ustalona iloscia kapitału. Wyniki wskazują, że otrzymana funkcja produkcji firmy jest funkcją analityczną, a wymagana część zysku potrzebna do sfinansowania szkolenia leży w przedziale z określoną górną granicą.
This paper is concerned with deriving, using the Volterra integral equation, a production function for a single product firm financing off-the-job training from its revenue from output. The short-run scenario where labour is the only variable factor of production is studied within the ambit of the law of diminishing returns and the condition for profit-maximization. The study utilizes the Cobb-Douglas production function wherein capital is fixed as a theoretical underpinning. The results indicate that the production function of the firm is a transcendental function and that the proportion of output required to finance the training lies within an interval with a definite upper bound.

In this paper we prove existence theorems for integro - differential equations
$x^Δ (t) = f(t,x(t),∫₀^t k(t,s,x(s))Δs)$,
t ∈ Iₐ = [0,a] ∩ T, a ∈ R₊,
x(0) = x₀
where T denotes a time scale (nonempty closed subset of real numbers R), Iₐ is a time scale interval. Functions f,k are Carathéodory functions with values in a Banach space E and the integral is taken in the sense of Henstock-Kurzweil delta integral, which generalizes the Henstock-Kurzweil integral.
Additionally, functions f and k satisfy some boundary conditions and conditions expressed in terms of measures of noncompactness. Moreover, we prove an Ambrosetti type lemma on a time scale.
