    There is presented the practical application example of the theory of constraints, in the paper. In all enterprises from engineering industry, the main problem connected with realization of production orders are the constraint existing in every production system. Searching and increasing of the bottleneck (constraint) should be the first step in situation, when exist necessity to increase production. There are described principles and stages of the production system improvement, which are based on the mentioned above theory. In the paper, there is demonstrated that the computer simulation is very useful aiding tool for finding constraints and facilitating the analysis of different proposed changes in production systems.

    According to the Theory of Constraints by Goldratt system bottlenecks are key to improving productivity and profitability of the entire production system. An important issue in the practical application of this theory is to identify bottlenecks in the system. The aim of this paper is to develop practical steps to identify bottlenecks in the production system characterised by a homogeneous flow. The paper includes a case study which shows six steps that allowing to specify not only the first bottleneck of the system but to develop a comprehensive plan for removing bottlenecks.

    The article is a literature review in the scope of theory of constraints in manufacturing companies developed by E. Goldratt. Particular emphasis is placed on the economic sphere of such companies as opposed to the literature dedicated to solving production control problem by using DBR technique advocated by developers and active users of theory of constraints. The article aims to show the approach to the presentation of measurements developed by theory of constraints in the context of corporate net profit and return on invested money in productive activities in the real industrial plants. This is called throughput accounting that indicates the effectiveness of money processing in the production system. In addition, literature analysis aims to show the degree of utilization of theory of constraints in scientific environments in the context of efficiency measures in achieving the goal objective of making money or achieving degree of operational expenses savings in production systems.

    In the face of challenges faced by today’s managers, such as unreliability of processes conducted within the company, low quality of materials, too long time of fulfilling the customer orders and missing the deadlines of their implementation, the role of dynamic parameters of the warehousing as the source of competitive advantage of a modern enterprise is growing. The aim of the study is to identify and analyze the factors determining the effective implementation of the warehousing in the Distribution Center. In the research there has been adopted the following hypothesis: with the increase in the number of customer orders, which is characterized by an increasingly smaller number of assortment items, the importance of managing constraints limiting the material flow within the warehousing is increasing. The above-mentioned hypothesis is verified in accordance with the test procedure including literature research and a case study. The research results show that the Theory of Constraints is an excellent tool supporting the transformation of the warehouse management method. With the help of the Theory of Constraints it is possible to determine precisely the places in the material flow, where the adaptation actions undertaken bring down the greatest effects.

    The large variability of internal and external factors is a serious problem hampering production management. To meet the standards and at the same time ensure the viability of production it is necessary to quickly respond to problems that arise during production processes, and to adequately correct plans. Measures taken in the management of madetoorder production are frequently single and unique, and therefore resemble the features of project management. The paper discusses the project management method derived from the theory of constraints – CCPM. The paper describes an original algorithm for CCPM implementation and presents the results of success CCPM implementation in a company from the Wielkopolska region. The implementation of CCPM resulted in improved timeliness of order delivery, improved communication and standardization of processes related to order delivery.

    The manufacturing industry has evolved over the past several decades in response to changing customer needs. Customers have become more demanding and want products that can meet their specific individual requirements. The standard products previously produced in large batches are not sufficient to meet this variety demanded. Given the increased competition, both locally and globally, companies must also now respond faster to get and keep customers. Enterprises were forced to unit and small-batch production. Currently, advanced planning systems are coming into use, however their cost exceeds the possibilities of small and medium enterprises and algorithms used often require great customization to industries' needs and conditions of unit and small-batch production. The paper has been drawn on the basis of research on overloads of moving bottlenecks in conditions of unit and small batch production in real conditions having a big number of resources and tasks. The methods used so far are not capable of finding the global optimum of such big data ranges. The author took on building a heuristic algorithm, which could find solution good enough and based on TOC (Theory of Constraints) assumptions and verification of assumptions using tests in real production systems. The above method found application to the industrial scale, as extension of the ERP class system.

Jest to interesująca propozycja pracy z dzieckiem, grupą i rodzicami w zakresie samopoznania dzieci oraz kształtowania konstruktywnych relacji rówieśniczych i społecznych w edukacji przedszkolnej.
    At the outset, the author presents reflections on the contemporary challenges facing education and its importance in shaping the foundation of positive relationships, communication and dialogue. The purpose of this article is to show the benefits of using an educational package “Kit Box of Secrets” in the process of teaching and educating in kindergarten, with particular emphasis on building the foundations of communication, dialogue and forming positive relations. This is an interesting way of working with a child, a group of children as well as parents in terms of children selfknowledge and the development of constructive peer and social relations in preschool education.

    This article shows step by step process of creating general algorithm saying how to implement continuous flow in production companies. Article is based on real environment of medium Polish production company, which produces steel halls. After presenting basic information about TOC and LEAN tools it shows and algorithm showing activities and sequence made in real company. Authors proposed solutions referred to both the material flow changing's and the information flow changing's. Main goal was adapt production process to unchangeable work of bottleneck. After all, results of production flow simulation after implementation of above solutions were presented. Finally, authors created algorithm based on techniques and tools implemented in mentioned company. It shows in general what production engineers should do step by step while implementing continuous flow in production.

    The article deals with the analysis and assessment of lean strategy as well as of Six Sigma and the Theory of Constraints applied in effective supply chain management. These concepts were found mutually complementary. Agile strategy, as well as its comparative assessment with lean strategy, were analyzed. Agile strategy's aspects of development in reactive supply chain management were discussed. Three kinds of supply chain processes and the corresponding strategies such as lean, agile and lean-agile were singled out. The article established that effective and efficient supply chain management based on agile strategy is conditioned by the preceding both geographically and chronologically lean processes implementation.

    Artykuł dotyczy wpływu metod sterowania produkcją na efektywność przepływu produkcji. Przedstawione rozwiązanie dotyczy opracowanego i wdrożonego w przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym systemu, uwzględniającego specyfikę produkcyjną firmy związaną ze strukturą zamówień i uwarunkowaniami wewnętrznymi. Podstawą opracowania rozwiązań tworzących system było wykorzystanie różnych dostępnych metod sterowania produkcją. Niniejszy artykuł jest związany z realizacją projektu celowego dotyczącego opracowania i wdrożenia do praktyki przemysłowej sytemu sterowania produkcją. W wyniku przyjętych rozwiązań uzyskano wzrost efektywności przepływu produkcji poprzez zmniejszenie czasu przejścia materiału oraz zapasów międzyoperacyjnych w procesach wytwórczych.
    The article concerns the impact of methods of production flow control to the efficiency of production flow. Described solution shows developed and implemented system taking into account the specificity of the system of production orders related to the structure and internal circumstances.The basis for the development of solutions to create the system was to use different available methods to control production. Paper shown material related to the implementation of a project of development and implementation production control system dedicated to DOMEX Ltd. The main result of presented solutions is an increase the efficiency of the production flow by reducing lead time and work in progress in manufacturing processes.

    Currently, we live in a culture of being overly busy, but this does not translate into efficiency, speed of implementation of the actions taken. Enterprises are constantly looking for methods and tools to make them more efficient. The most popular method of production management is Lean Manufacturing, less known is Theory of Constraints. This work is a continuation of the research on the comparison of these methods with apply a computer simulation, which the analyzed production process in the selected enterprise, after 24 hours and week. An attempt was made to simplify the comparison of the methods based on the obtained simulation in terms of costs. In analyzed case, more advantageous solution is to use the DBR method. To produce various orders that do not require 100% production on the bottleneck position, the use of Kanban is a frequent practice as it provides greater flexibility in order execution.

    In the introductory section the author discusses the latest challenges preschool education faces nowadays. The author of the article emphasizes the importance of applying the TOC tools in the early childhood education as pre-paring the child for the role of being a pupil at school. The main body of the article outlines the theoretical assumptions behind the TOC Programme (Theory of Constraints). The author focuses on the presentation of the TOC tools: the Logical Branch, the Cloud, the Ambitious Target Tree. Each of these tools is characterized with a focus on the expected results in the process of education of young children. With an emphasis on the educational value of the TOC tools in early childhood education the author seeks to share her professional experience as a teacher and a coach.
    Na wstępie autor przedstawia rozważania nad współczesnymi wyzwa-niami stojącymi przed edukacją przedszkolną. Podkreśla znaczenie stosowania na-rzędzi TOC .w przedszkolu, które zapewniają dobre przygotowanie dziecka do roli ucznia w szkole. W rozwinięciu prezentuje założenia teoretyczne programu TOC (Theory of Constraints). Autor skupia się także na przedstawieniu narzędzi TOC, ta-kich jak: gałąź logiczna, chmurka, drzewko ambitnego celu. Każde z narzędzi opi-sane jest pod kątem efektów, jakie daje w pracy edukacyjnej z dzieckiem. Podkre-ślając walory edukacyjne narzędzi TOC w edukacji przedszkolnej, autor dzieli się własnym doświadczeniem pedagogicznym jako nauczyciel praktyk i trener.

    For TOC (Theory of Constraints) implementation in a production system, the determination of the system’s bottleneck is a crucial step. Effective bottleneck identification allows setting priorities for the improvement of a production system. The article deals with a significant problem for the manufacturing industry related to the location of a bottleneck. The article aims for a detailed analysis of methods for bottleneck identification based on a comprehensive literature review and the design of a generalised methodology for bottleneck identification in the production system. The article uses two research methods, first, the combination of a narrative and scoping literature review, and second, the logical design. Several methods for bottleneck identification are reviewed and compared, finding some being similar, and others giving new insights into the evaluated production system. A methodology for bottleneck identification is proposed. It contains several detailed methods arranged in coherent steps, which are suggested to be followed when aiming for the recognition of a production system’s bottleneck. The proposed methodology is expected to be helpful in the practical TOC implementation. The presented methodology for the identification of bottlenecks in a production system is a practical tool for managers and experts dealing with TOC. However, it is still a conceptual proposal that needs to be tested empirically. The proposed methodology for bottleneck identification is an original concept based on the current literature output. It contributes to the production management theory as a practical managerial tool.

In the article the assumptions of this method has been presented as well as iterative approach concerning how to launch it in practice. Main indicators for organizational effectiveness assessment have also been presented. The maximization of production assets utilization is a key issue for competitive organization in the changing market conditions. An appropriate usage of the theory of constraints enables efficient allocation of financial assets among particular plants within a capital group. An application of a method has been presented based on throughput analyses and its influence to improve financial results of one plant organization and synergy effect in multiplants organization. The theory of constraints can be used in almost every kind of business sectors, among them are metal and foundry industries. It allows to be implemented in production organizations as well as in any other company’s profiles. Everywhere the constraint has been defined there is a chance to achieve an improvement following the presented method. The examples have been taken from the casting plants which use continuous and mold casting technologies. The examples show that TOC approach can be successfully employed as the improvement tool of foundries’ performances.

Poprzez zsynchronizowanie projektów względem terminów zadań wykorzystujących zasób ograniczający pozwala na maksymalne jego wyeksploatowanie. Bufor ograniczenia chroni termin wykonania zadania przez zasób ograniczający w kolejnym projekcie. W artykule przedstawiono schemat postępowania w procesie planowania realizacji projektów w środowisku wieloprojektowym zgodnie z metodą CCMPM. Przedstawiony przykład ilustruje realizację tych zasad.
    Critical Chain Multi Project Management method allows to manage projects in accordance with the Theory of Constraints TOC. CCMPM allows for maximum exploitation of the constraining resource identified from the multi project perspective. It synchronizes projects against time of tasks performed by the constraining resource. The paper presents rules of conduct in the process of project planning in multi-project environment according to the CCMPM method. An example illustrates the implementation of these principles.

    Production structure problem, also known as product mix problem (PMP) has been in the area of interest of many researchers. Among many different ways to solve this problem, theory of constraints (TOC) is one of the more frequently chosen ones. However this solution is not universal and in some cases does not generate an optimal solution. In this paper a multi-criteria integer model has been introduced to enhance the concept. Thanks to a thorough analysis of the problem, model can be used both in the companies that have identified the one and only constraint as well as companies that characterize with multi-constraint environment.

    Opis:
    Support of planning heat treatment processes in small batch production is very complex. In the analysed case, the bottlenecks of the processes were located on heat treatment. The difficulty in planning is due to necessity of adapting available resources to changing demand requirements. In the conditions of unit production crucial role plays changeovers time, availability of resources and cost of processing. Due to NP- difficult nature of optimization a simplified method was used. It was a complex of theory of constraints and dynamic task grouping. This is one of the attempts to solve the supporting process production problem with a method enabling its practical use.

    Opis:
    Purpose: The paper presents an application of the Theory of Constraints (TOC) aimed at defining and maximising the potential of hyperbaric chamber as a key resource in a specialist hospital. Design/methodology/approach: The authors developed their own TOC based method of process improvement, supported by tools of Lean Management. Various constraints including an external one were taken into consideration. As a follow-up a project using the method was carried out in a hospital’s Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy laboratory. Findings: The developed and implemented practical solution has improved patients’ access to the service at about 40% per day, shortened patients’ waiting time at about 90% and helped to overcome the threat of financial underperformance. Moreover, in combination with strict safety rules, the solution has proven its high resistance against difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Research limitations/implications: A hyperbaric therapy is a narrow branch of medicine, therefore application of the method in other healthcare domains will require an appropriate adaptation. Practical implications: Despite the narrow subject of the study, the described approach is universal and can be used to maximise the capacity utilisation of various critical resources in hospitals and other healthcare providers. Originality/value: This is the first known to the authors application of a TOC/Lean based systematic hybrid approach to improve performance of a healthcare provider, which is taking into account several constraints including an external one. Additionally, this is the first paper on TOC in healthcare published in Poland.
