Globalization challenges the state-centric realist view of space and authority within International Relations. Using multifaceted concepts of territoriality and non-territoriality, this article goes into three versions of current territorial fragmentation or connectivity – deterritorialization, extraterritorialization and reterritorialization. They are to enable us to reveal the proliferation of globally relevant social and power dynamics above, below and within the state domain. At the same time, they are to illuminate the ambivalent role of states played in an era of global interconnectedness.

The paper proposes new approaches to the implementation of regional strategies of border regions and territories of Ukraine. There were the following areas in which it is advisable to use and develop the conception and conceptual apparatus of the border area within the framework of the regional economy: an approach in which the border area is viewed as an area adjacent to a fixed front line that has a significant socio-economic impact on this territory; an approach in which the border is viewed not as a fixed line, but as a “frontal limit” of the influence of the state border on the adjacent territory. The following are proposed as possible approaches to the analysis and evaluation of regional competitive regions and territories: an approach based on the theory of regional reproduction, concepts of value chains, regional capital, and capitalization of the territory; approach based on categories of human capital, demographic potential, level of socio-economic development of the territory, level and quality of life of the population of the region; an approach based on the theory of bioregionalism, the concept of sustainable (environmentally balanced) development, the concepts of natural resource and ecological potential of the territory; an integrated approach based on the concept of “ecogeotrions”, which allows to assess the degree of balance between the three main components of regional competitiveness (economic, social and environmental).

The concepts of territory, territorial sovereignty and territorial autonomy play an important role in geopolitics, political science or international relations. The article examines the formation of the city brand as a tool of public administration for increased competitiveness. The authors present a definition of ‘city branding’ and marketing features of territorial branding, scientific tools developed for diagnostics, as well as development of the territorial brand, and directions of promotion of the city brand as a factor of increasing its competitiveness. The purpose was a theoretical and practical justification for the formation of the city’s brand as a way to increase its competitiveness. The methodological basis of the study was a set of theoretical and empirical methods of scientific knowledge: theoretical generalization in order to clarify the basic theoretical and methodological foundations of the concept of branding the city; analysis and synthesis in determining the strategic directions and target audiences of the city brand; the formation of directions for the promotion of the city brand; visual of the results of the study.
W artykule omówiono kształtowanie marki miasta jako narzędzia administracji publicznej służącego podnoszeniu konkurencyjności. Scharakteryzowano definicję „brandingu miasta” i cechy marketingowe brandingu terytorialnego; opracowane narzędzia naukowe do diagnostyki i rozwoju marki terytorialnej; rozwijane są kierunki promocji marki miasta jako czynnika wzrostu jego konkurencyjności. Celem jest teoretyczne i praktyczne uzasadnienie kształtowania marki miasta jako sposobu na zwiększenie jego konkurencyjności. Podstawę metodologiczną opracowania stanowi zespół teoretycznych i empirycznych metod poznania naukowego: uogólnienie teoretyczne – w celu wyjaśnienia podstaw teoretycznych i metodologicznych koncepcji brandingu miasta; analiza i synteza – w określaniu kierunków strategicznych i docelowych odbiorców marki miasta, kształtowanie kierunków promocji marki miasta; obraz graficzny z wizualnym przedstawieniem wyników badania.

Opis:
Problematika návrhu vysokorychlostních tratí je velmi aktuálním tématem, zejména z důvodu napojení ČR na evropský systém VRT. Problematika návrhu se však netýká jenom přípravy technologických částí stavby. Nejdůležitější je příprava území aby navržená stavba mohla být naplánována, tzn. je nutno uvést do souladu navrženou trasu s dotčenými územními plány, posoudit vliv na životní prostředí a další faktory. Součástí článku je uplatnění těchto hledisek při posouzení návrhu modelové trasy VRT v úseku Praha – Drážďany, což ve výsledku bude znamenat propojení letiště Václava Havla Praha a letiště v Drážďanech.
The issue of the design of high-speed rails becomes very current theme, especially because of the connection of the Czech Republic to the European system of HSR. The issue of the design is not only about the preparation of technological parts of the construction. The most important thing is the preparation of the site to enable planning of the design of the construction. It is necessary to bring the designed route into line with land use plans, to assess the impact on the environment and other factors. The article includes the application of these aspects when assessing the design of the HSR route model between Prague – Dresden. This will mean linking the Vaclav Havel Airport Prague and airport in Dresden.

L’objectif de l’article est de questionner, dans une approche comparative, le lien entre la mémoire et l’espace dans les récits autobiographiques et testimoniaux d’Anna Langfus, Bruno Durocher et Piotr Rawicz. Dans leurs textes, l’espace s’érige en un des moyens de faire travailler la mémoire et aborder le passé. Il s’agit d’un côté d’une dimension extérieure, dépendante des décisions épistémiques du sujet parlant. Avec ses frontières bien délimitées, l’espace prend soit la forme d’un refuge, d’un « chez moi », soit, au contraire, il devient hostile et menaçant. La deuxième dimension n’opère ni frontières, ni topologies, mais résulte de la découverte de l’animalité de l’homme. Poussée à l’extrême, elle aboutit à une symbiose parfaite ou à une « indiscernabilité » entre le sujet et le lieu. Ainsi, combinant les approches autobiographiques/testimoniales et les perspectives spatiales/territoriales, l’article démontre-t-il le caractère spatial de l’expérience humaine et de la mémoire.
The paper aims at describing and interpreting in comparative approach the works of three Polish‐French writers: Anna Langfus, Bruno Durocher et Piotr Rawicz. I follow the authors of What Is Philosophy in believing that “thinking takes place in the relationship of territory and the earth”. Therefore, my analysis is structured with the Deleuzian notion of territory and demonstrates how memory of wartime is anchored in the geographical and imaginary spaces. On the one hand, it is an external dimension which depends on the epistemic decisions of the subject. With its well-defined borders, the space is represented as a refuge, an “at home”, or, on the contrary, it becomes hostile and threatening. On the other hand, the space is represented as a territory and results from the discovery of the animal nature of man. Combining autobiographical/testimonial approaches and spatial/territorial perspectives, the article demonstrates the spatial character of human experience and memory.

Notre contribution consiste à analyser les pratiques discursives des trois textes constitutionnels algériens (1996, 2002 et 2016) dédiés à la à la constitutionnalisation de la langue amazighe. Il s’agit de montrer et de dégager, à travers une analyse textuelle et pragmatique de ces textes, le statut et la définition qui lui a été réservée en tant que langue qui se présente sous forme de plusieurs variétés dispersées sur le territoire national.   Pour mener à bien notre analyse, nous ferons appel principalement au domaine de la jurilinguistique.  Par ailleurs, la langue amazighe est définie dans la constitution prise comme un ensemble de variétés attestées dans le territoire national.
Przedmiotem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza praktyk dyskursywnych w trzech algierskich tekstach konstytucyjnych (1996, 2002 oraz 2016) w zakresie konstytucjonalizacji języka tamazight. Analiza tekstowa i pragmatyczna tych tekstów ma na celu przybliżenie statusu oraz definicji tego języka jako języka wernakularnego, używanego pod postacią różnych narzeczy występujących na terytorium narodowym. Główny punkt odniesienia dla analizy stanowią prace z dziedziny juryslingwistyki. Także w konstytucji język tamazight jest definiowany jako narzeczy, których istnienie zostało odnotowane na terytorium narodowym.
Our contribution consists in analyzing the discursive practices of the three Algerian constitutional texts (1996, 2002, and 2016) dedicated to the constititionalisation of the Amazigh language. It is about showing and putting in evidence, through a textual and pragmatic analysis of these texts, the status and the definition that has been scattered over the national territory. To carry out our analysis, we will mainly appeal to the field of jurilinguistics. Moreover, the Amazigh language is defined in the constitution as a set of certified varieties throughout the national territory.

The pledging policy by the grand dukes of Lithuania in the sixteenth century has not been practically under research; historians have not given the geographical and cartographical aspects of this problem any attention. This article aims to research the geography of the pledges of the grand-ducal demesne from the 1500s to mid-1520s. This article discusses the concept of the demesne of Lithuanian sovereigns, its size and limits, and we analyse the geographical and statistical information about its composition. We have created a map of pledged estates and properties using the data collected and characterised the most important pledge deeds and pledgees.
Problematyka zastawu dóbr wielkiego księcia litewskiego w XVI w. jest praktycznie nieobecna w historiografii, a aspekty geograficzne i kartograficzne w ogóle nie były przedmiotem zainteresowania historyków. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza geografii zastawów domeny wielkiego księcia litewskiego w pierwszych trzech dziesięcioleciach XVI w. W badaniach omówiono pojęcie domeny władcy Litwy, jej wielkość i granice, a także zarejestrowano i zanalizowano dane geograficzne i statystyczne. Na podstawie zebranych dla potrzeb badań danych sporządzono mapę zastawionych dóbr, a także krótko scharakteryzowano umowy na zastaw oraz zawierające je strony.

The way we experience our cities is not neutral: women and men experience it differently, depending on factors such as where they live, the social group which they belong to, the gender roles assigned, and intersectionality. Urbanismo Mujeres y Ciudad en Latinoamérica is a platform that works with qualitative methodologies with gender and feminist perspective.This article presents a methodological proposal to answer the central question: How is the urban experience of women in two Latin American cities: Mexico City and Santiago de Chile. As a way of answering it, the following were developed: the Multidimensional Model of Gender-Conscious Urbanism, the My Walk Travel Log, the Immobility Log and the Neighbourhood Satisfaction Survey. These are the tools of the urban analysis methodology proposed in order to understand the experience of women in the above-mentioned territory, including quantitative and qualitative variables, making perception the central element of the analysis.

This essay focuses on the processes of territorialization, deterritorialization and reterritorialization through which Euro-Canadian society extended its control along the valley of the St. Maurice River between 1850 and 1930. That territory had been settled by the Atikamekw people where they had established their hunting and fishing grounds for centuries. However, the Atikamekw people were confronted by environmental and technological transformations around the St. Maurice River with the implementation of sociotechnical systems during that time period, as two successive phases of industrialization based on specific water use brought along a proliferation of urban centers and the arrival of the large-scale industry. This was particularly the case when the proliferation of hydroelectric dams along the St. Maurice River and its tributaries followed the construction of fluvial infrastructure to facilitate the floating of wood pulp harvested in the upper basin of the river. Not only did the technical activities surrounding the construction of hydroelectric facilities materially transform the St. Maurice River watershed, they also allowed a symbolic appropriation of the land by the production of maps and surveys that ‘erased’ the presence of the Atikamekw. Physical and symbolic boundaries resulting from these new forms of organization and configuration of the territory restricted the spatial practices and representations of the Atikamekw. Logging confined these people within isolated enclaves (the so-called “Indian reserves”), while dams bypassed their networks of exchange and communication. The aim of this essay is to understand the conflicts between the territorialities of the Atikamekw and that of the Euro-Canadians by focusing on the place of water uses within the geographical imaginations and the land use patterns of these populations.

W odróżnieniu od Generalnego Gubernatorstwa niewiele zostało opublikowanych dzienników opisujących życie codzienne Polaków, którzy okupację niemiecką przeżyli na terenach wcielonych do Rzeszy już w 1939 r. Głównie na tym polega wartość naukowa Dziennika toruńskiego malarza i bibliofila Eugeniusz Przybyła. Dziennik pozwala spojrzeć na życie codzienne Polaków nie tylko z perspektywy Warszawy czy Krakowa, ale też miejscowości wcielonej do Rzeszy i elementów niemieckiej polityki okupacyjnej, charakterystycznych jedynie dla tego obszaru.
Contrary to the General Government, few diaries have been published describing Poles’ everyday lives who survived the German occupation on territories incorporated into the Reich already in 1939. This is mainly the scientific value of the Diary of Toruń painter and bibliophile Eugeniusz Przybył. The Diary makes it possible to look at the everyday life of Poles not only from the perspective of Warsaw or Cracow, but also of the towns incorporated into the Reich and the elements of the German occupation policy characteristic only for this area.
