In modern language teaching institutions and schools, the proficient language teachers apply different kinds of tasks to teach some skills and sub-skills. In the current study, the researcher investigated the effect of two different tasks, namely Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL)-based tasks and written questions tasks on students’ English grammar learning. The researcher in the control group asked the participants to answer the written questions in their workbooks and the participants in the experimental group do their assignments using the computers. Based on the post-test results, both CALL-based and written question tasks had positive effects on the participants. The study supports the idea that motivating tasks can have positive results toward language learning.

Opis:
Tasks with content are one of the means to achieve the goals of mathematical education. They can be a bridge between “school Mathematics” and the student’s daily experience. The analysis of strategy and effectiveness of solving tasks with content shows specific difficulties associated with heuristics, especially among students with low family capital. The results of the researches mentioned in the article indicate the small experience of students with self-drafting tasks. Positive conclusions provide the analysis of the factors responsible for engaging students to undertake text tasks.
Zadania z treścią są jednym ze środków służących realizacji celów kształcenia matematycznego. Mogą stanowić pomost między „szkolną matematyką” a codziennym doświadczeniem ucznia. Analiza strategii i skuteczności rozwiązywania zadań z treścią pokazuje specyficzne trudności, związane z heurezą, w szczególności wśród uczniów o niskim kapitale rodzinnym. Wyniki omawianych badań wskazują na niewielkie doświadczenia uczniów związane z samodzielnym układaniem zadań. Pozytywnych wniosków dostarcza analiza czynników odpowiedzialnych za zaangażowanie uczniów do podjęcia zadań testowych.

The subject matter of this article is the optimization of delivery problems (Vehicle Routing Problems – VRP) with regard to distribution systems. These issues belong to the class of NP-hard problems. Current solutions to various delivery problems (VRP, TSP, MTSP, VRPTW, RDPTW) were analysed. Two examples were presented. In a transport and production task, a marginal cost equalling (MCE) algorithm was used. In the case of a Multi Depot Vehicle Routing Problem (MDVRP), an evolutionary algorithm was used.

By the Act of 8 March 1990 on Municipal Self-Government, the legislator imposed a wide range of tasks to be performed by the municipality, including meeting the community’s needs in the area of municipal housing. The aim of the study is to present a legal entity that is autonomous from the commune and managed as a limited liability company, namely the Towarzystwo Budownictwa Społecznego (TBS) [Social Housing Society]. It operates under the Commercial Companies Code of 15 September 2000 within the scope resulting from Article 27(1) and (2) of the Act of 26 October 1995 on Certain Forms of Housing Promotion, thus performing the municipality’s housing tasks. TBS companies have been equipped with a legal personality primarily to become a more effective guarantor of the proper implementation of public tasks. The availability and standard of housing play a key role in meeting the housing needs of households. For those social groups that are unable to finance the purchase of a dwelling at market prices on their own, rental housing is a beneficial solution to meet their housing needs. The operations of the TBS are not subject to the principles of the market economy. The specificity of the company’s activity is that the primary and principal statutory objective cannot be profit-making, i.e. to seek to generate and maximise profits, but that any income must be allocated to statutory objectives. However, nothing stands in the way of such companies performing secondary and accessory activities at the same time, the income from which will support their non-commercial statutory objectives.

The problem at work that is being focused on the adolescent’s developmental tasks in families with alcohol problems, especially in families with treated alcoholics. In present work was hypothesised that treatment of alcoholic fathers would be the one of the important protective factors in families with alcoholism. The first question addressed was whether children of treated alcoholics have been differed from children of drinking alcoholics according to the developmental tasks. The next question addressed was whether the specific family context was associated with the adolescent’s development. Participants included 91 children age 17-18. The research sample comprised three groups: 31 children of drinking alcoholics, 30 children of treated alcoholics, and 30 children of non-alcoholic parents. In general, the results of the present study suggest that the process treatment of the alcoholic parents was found to be a significant protective factor in alcoholic families.

The modern world needs people who think, those who think critically, who can function well in a rapidly changing reality. In order to educate such people, their education should be started as early as possible, preferably at the early school education stage. Are the pupils at this stage capable of critical thinking? The article presents the results of research on the development of critical thinking of pupils of third grade of primary school. Children from the experimental class during the preliminary tests did not show high mathematical competences related to the ability to solve unusual tasks and thus did not demonstrate the ability to think critically. During the experimental classes, the experimenter constantly provoked pupils to think using atypical tasks with a deficit or contradiction of data, with an ambiguous solution or with an unrealistic content (senseless in life). As a result of these exercises, in final tests children critically analysed the content of the tasks and data and were reflective at the same time: they perceived the data shortage, they saw the contradiction of data, they noticed the ambiguity and looked for any possible solution, they saw the lack of realism, they completed the missing data and corrected contradictory data and they changed the unreal data to the real ones. Therefore, critical thinking is available to pupils of early school education. Only we have to allow them do it.
Współczesny świat potrzebuje ludzi myślących i to myślących krytycznie, potrafiących dobrze funkcjonować w szybko zmieniającej się rzeczywistości. By wykształcić takich ludzi, należy ich edukację rozpocząć jak najwcześniej, najlepiej już na etapie wczesnoszkolnym. Czy uczniowie tego etapu zdolni są do myślenia krytycznego? W artykule zaprezentowane są wyniki badań nad rozwijaniem krytycznego myślenia uczniów III klasy szkoły podstawowej. Uczniowie z klasy eksperymentalnej podczas badań wstępnych nie wykazali się wysokimi kompetencjami matematycznymi związanymi z umiejętnością rozwiązywania zadań nietypowych, a tym samym nie wykazali się umiejętnością krytycznego myślenia. W trakcie zajęć eksperymentalnych eksperymentator cały czas prowokował uczniów do myślenia, wykorzystując przy tym zadania nietypowe z deficytem lub sprzecznością danych, z niejednoznacznym rozwiązaniem lub o treści nierealistycznej (bezsensowne życiowo). W efekcie tych zabiegów w badaniach końcowych uczniowie krytycznie analizowali treść zadań oraz dane i byli przy tym refleksyjni: dostrzegali niedobór danych, dostrzegali sprzeczność danych, dostrzegali niejednoznaczność i poszukiwali wszelkich możliwości rozwiązania, dostrzegali brak realizmu, uzupełniali brakujące, korygowali sprzeczne i urealniali nierzeczywiste dane. Myślenie krytyczne jest zatem dostępne uczniom edukacji wczesnoszkolnej. Jedynie trzeba im na nie pozwolić.

The article presents research on the frequently observed problem of aggression and violence in relationship. The authors point out the role of represented attachment style for the quality of relationships of young adults and the appearance of aggressive behaviors. At the same time they suggest that the role overload that occurs during early adulthood may lead to lower satisfaction with the implementation of the developmental tasks of this period – which in turn may result in a tendency to aggressive behavior. The aim of this study was to investigate the specific needs of young adults in partnership given their attachment style, satisfaction with the developmental tasks associated with family life and the expression of aggressive behavior. The main research problem was therefore the relationship between attachment style and the level of aggression and the relationship between the level of aggression and satisfaction with the implementation of developmental tasks. The study was conducted with the use of Kwestionariusz Stylów Przywiązaniowych (KSP) Mieczyslawa Plopy, Kwestionariusz Agresji (BPAQ) A. Buss and M. Perry and Skala Satysfakcji z Realizacji Zadań Rozwojowych (prepared by the authors). The study involved 45 pairs in different forms of relationship. The study confirmed the relationship between represented attachment style and the level of aggression and the relationship between satisfaction with the developmental tasks and the level of partners aggression towards each other.

The problem of scheduling n tasks in a multiprocessor system with m processors to minimize the makespan is studied. Tasks are malleable, which means that a task can be executed by several processors at a time, its processing speed depends on the number of allocated processors, and a set of processors allocated to the same task can change over time. The processing speed of a task is a strictly increasing function of the number of processors allocated to this task. The earlier studies considered the case n ≤ m. This paper presents results for arbitrary n and m including characterizations of a feasible domain and an optimal solution, polynomial time algorithms for strictly increasing convex and concave processing speed functions, and a combinatorial exponential algorithm for arbitrary strictly increasing functions.

The study concerns the subjective limits of the public subjective right to public information. It attempts to answer the question of the addressee of the claim characterizing this right in the Polish legal order from the perspective of constitutional regulations and the provisions of the Act on Access to Public Information. The analysis focuses on the interpretation of the statutory concepts of “public tasks” and “entity performing public tasks” using the method of doctrinal interpretation as necessary in this respect. At the same time, such an understanding of doctrinal interpretation was adopted, according to which it is an interpretation carried out  in the process of implementing the law, i.e. in specific circumstances, by the entity implementing this law and made from the point of view of the science of law, i.e. when referring to scientific arguments in the justification of the position and proposed solutions presented. For this reason, the results of the doctrinal interpretation of the terms “public task” and “entity performing public tasks” were also referred to the views presented in the jurisprudence of administrative courts. The analysis led to the conclusion that an “entity performing public tasks” within the meaning of the Act on Access to Public Information can be spoken of when the obligation to act    of a specific entity corresponding to the content of the public task is anchored in     a legal norm addressed to this entity, and the responsibility for its implementation is borne by the public-law community (state, self-government communities), of which this entity becomes a body in the functional sense. At the same time, this analysis justifies the conclusion that the theoretical constructions of administrative law, apart from their obvious scientific value, also have operational significance, and the need or even necessity to use the method of doctrinal interpretation in the area of this law seems obvious.
