The vibration signal is one of the most essential diagnostic signals, the analysis of which allows for determining the dynamic state of the monitored machine set. In the era of cyber-physical industrial systems, making diagnostic decisions involves the study of large databases from previous registers and data downloaded from machines in real-time. However, the recorded signals mainly concern the operational status of the monitored object. Insufficient training data regarding failure states hinders the operation of classification algorithms. Progress in machine learning has created a new avenue for the advancement of diagnostic methods based on models. These methods now have the capability to produce signals through random sampling from a hidden space or generate fresh instances of input data from noise. The article suggests the use of a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) model as a tool to create synthetic measurement observations for vibration monitoring. The effectiveness of the synthetic data generation algorithm was verified on the example of the vibration signal recorded during tests of the drive system of a motor vehicle.

The current reality is saturated with intelligent telecommunications solutions, and automatic speaker recognition systems are an integral part of many of them. They are widely used in sectors such as banking, telecommunications and forensics. The ease of performing automatic analysis and efficient extraction of the distinctive characteristics of the human voice makes it possible to identify, verify, as well as authorize the speaker under investigation. Currently, the vast majority of solutions in the field of speaker recognition systems are based on the distinctive features resulting from the structure of the speaker's vocal tract (laryngeal sound analysis), called physical features of the voice. Despite the high efficiency of such systems - oscillating at more than 95% - their further development is already very difficult, due to the fact that the possibilities of distinctive physical features have been exhausted. Further opportunities to increase the effectiveness of ASR systems based on physical features appear after additional consideration of the behavioral features of the speech signal in the system, which is the subject of this article.

Opis:
Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a prevalent, expensive to treat, and dangerous disease inwhich the pumping capacity of the heart muscle is reduced due to injury or stress. It causesmajor medical problems in humans and contribute to many diseases, thus increasing themortality rate. In a world with a growing population, there is a need for more precise andsimpler approaches to detect such conditions, which can prevent many diseases and lead toa lower mortality rate. The main goal here is to use electrocardiomatrix (ECM) approachto perform the task of detecting CHF. It is detected quickly and accurately with thisapproach, as ECM converts 2D electrocardiogram (ECG) data into a 3D-colored matrix.The approach is tested using ECG readings from the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center(BIDMC) CHF Database on the Internet (Physionet.org). The ECM outcomes of are thencompared to manual readings of ECG data. The ECM results achieved the accuracy of96.89%, the sensitivity of 97.53%, the precision of 99.1%, the F1-score of 97.76%, and thespecificity of 96.02% for CHF. This research shows that the ECM approach is a good wayfor machines and practitioners to interpret long-term ECG readings while maintainingaccuracy.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a long-term sleep disorder that causes temporary disruption in breathing while sleeping. Polysomnography (PSG) is the technique for monitoring different signals during the patient’s sleep cycle, including electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyography (EMG), electrocardiogram (ECG), and oxygen saturation (SpO2). Due to the high cost and inconvenience of polysomnography, the usefulness of ECG signals in detecting OSA is explored in this work, which proposes a two-dimensional convolutional neural network (2D-CNN) model for detecting OSA using ECG signals. A publicly available apnea ECG database from PhysioNet is used for experimentation. Further, a constant Q-transform (CQT) is applied for segmentation, filtering, and conversion of ECG beats into images. The proposed CNN model demonstrates an average accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of 91.34%, 90.68% and 90.70%, respectively. The findings obtained using the proposed approach are comparable to those of many other existing methods for automatic detection of OSA.

This work presents an analysis of vibration signals for bearing defects using a proposed approach that includes several methods of signal processing. The goal of the approach is to efficiently divide the signal into two distinct components: a meticulously organized segment that contains relatively straightforward information, and an inherently disorganized segment that contains a wealth of intricately complex data. The separation of the two component is achieved by utilizing the weighted entropy index (WEI) and the SVMD algorithm. Information about the defects was extracted from the envelope spectrum of the ordered and disordered parts of the vibration signal. Upon applying the proposed approach to the bearing fault signals available in the Paderborn university database, a high amplitude peak can be observed in the outer ring fault frequency (45.9 Hz). Likewise, for the signals available in XJTU-SY, a peak is observed at the fault frequency (108.6 Hz).

This work presents the analysis of vibration signals by an approach consists of several mathematical tools more elaborate such as the Hilbert transform, kurtogram, which allows the detection of vibration defects in a simple and accurate way. The steps or methods inserted in the process one complementary to the other as scalar indicators generally used in monitoring to follow the evolution of the functioning of a machine when an abnormal functioning it must make a diagnosis to detect the failing element through the use of a process. The determination of the defective organs at an optimal time is a very important operation in the industrial maintenance, which keeps the equipment in a good condition and ensures the assiduity of work. To see the effectiveness of fault detection by the proposed approach by analyzing the real vibration signals of a bearing type 6025-SKF available on the Case Western Reserve University platform.

Opis:
The Lombard effect is an involuntary increase in the speaker’s pitch, intensity, and duration in the presence of noise. It makes it possible to communicate in noisy environments more effectively. This study aims to investigate an efficient method for detecting the Lombard effect in uttered speech. The influence of interfering noise, room type, and the gender of the person on the detection process is examined. First, acoustic parameters related to speech changes produced by the Lombard effect are extracted. Mid-term statistics are built upon the parameters and used for the self-similarity matrix construction. They constitute input data for a convolutional neural network (CNN). The self-similarity-based approach is then compared with two other methods, i.e., spectrograms used as input to the CNN and speech acoustic parameters combined with the k-nearest neighbors algorithm. The experimental investigations show the superiority of the self-similarity approach applied to Lombard effect detection over the other two methods utilized. Moreover, small standard deviation values for the self-similarity approach prove the resulting high accuracies.

This article presents the problem of forecasting the length of machine assembly cycles in make-to-order production (Make-to-Order). The model of Make-to-Order production and the technological process of manufacturing the finished product are presented. The possibility of developing a novel method, using artificial intelligence solutions, to estimate machine assembly times based on historical company data on manufacturing times for structurally similar components, is described. It is assumed that the result of the developed method will be an intelligent system supporting efficient and accurate estimation of machine assembly time, ready for implementation in production conditions. Such data as part availability, human resource availability and novelty factor will be used as input data for learning the neural network, while the output variable during learning the neural network will be the actual machine assembly time.
W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono problem prognozowania długości cyklu montażu maszyn w produkcji na zamówienie (Make-to-Order). Przedstawiony został model produkcji na zamówienie oraz proces technologiczny wytwarzania wyrobu gotowego. Opisana została możliwość opracowania nowatorskiej metody, wykorzystującej rozwiązania z zakresu sztucznej inteligencji, umożliwiającej szacowanie czasu montażu maszyn w oparciu o dane historyczne przedsiębiorstw, dotyczące czasów wytwarzania podobnych konstrukcyjnie elementów. Zakłada się, iż rezultatem opracowanej metody będzie inteligentny system wspomagający skuteczne i dokładne szacowanie czasu montażu maszyn, gotowy do implementacji w warunkach produkcyjnych. Jako dane wejściowe do uczenia sieci neuronowej wykorzystane zostaną takie dane jak: dostępność części, dostępność zasobów ludzkich oraz czynnik nowości, zaś zmienną wyjściową podczas uczenia sieci neuronowej będzie rzeczywisty czas montażu maszyny.

This paper considers the issue of developing an application for vibration diagnostics of bearings of functional pairs of critical structures, this application should help in monitoring and diagnosing bearings, using vibration signals, without disassembling the functional unit itself. It is known that vibration diagnostics is effective and there is a tendency to reduce the cost of its implementation. Monitoring and diagnostics based on vibration parameters can be applied at any time, even after several years of equipment operation, when the costs of preventive maintenance and repair will exceed the economically justified value. Also, in the work, the basics of the subject area for the development of mobile applications are considered, and a review of existing solutions is made. Requirements for the application for performing vibration diagnostics are formulated. The architecture is designed and the data description for the application of vibration diagnostics is carried out.
W artykule poruszono problematykę opracowania aplikacji do diagnostyki wibracyjnej łożysk par funkcjonalnych konstrukcji krytycznych, która to aplikacja powinna pomóc w monitorowaniu i diagnozowaniu łożysk z wykorzystaniem sygnałów wibracyjnych, bez demontażu samego zespołu funkcjonalnego. Wiadomo, że diagnostyka wibracyjna jest skuteczna i istnieje tendencja do obniżania kosztów jej wykonania. Monitoring i diagnostyka na podstawie parametrów drgań może być stosowana w dowolnym momencie, nawet po kilku latach eksploatacji urządzeń, gdy koszty obsługi prewencyjnej i napraw przekroczą ekonomicznie uzasadnioną wartość. W pracy rozważane są również podstawy tematyki tworzenia aplikacji mobilnych oraz dokonywany jest przegląd istniejących rozwiązań. Sformułowano wymagania dla aplikacji do wykonywania diagnostyki wibracyjnej. Zaprojektowano architekturę i wykonano opis danych dla aplikacji diagnostyki wibracyjnej.

The issue of managing the risk associated with introducing changes to the railway system is very important from the point of view of safety management, as any change can significantly reduce the level of safety of a railway system. For this reason, such changes are regulated at the European Union (EU) level through a dedicated legal act known as the Common Safety Method for risk assessment (CSM). The example presented in this paper is a portion of the analysis carried out for an Estonian freight carrier with a bowtie method, which we improved so that it fully complies with the CSM requirements. This analysis concerns a change consisting of allowing the possibility of a freight train being driven by one person (with no assistant driver). The case study presented in the paper, although limited due to confidentially issues, allows a full description of how to use the proposed method in real-world applications.

Opis:
Fault location, isolation and self-restoration (FLISR) automation is an essential component of smart grids concept. It consists of a high level of comprehensive automation and monitoring of the distribution grid improving the quality of energy supplied to customers. This paper presents an algorithm for decentralized FLISR architecture with peer-to-peer communication using IEC 61860 GOOSE messages. An analysis of short circuit detection was presented due to the method of the grid earthing system. The proposed automation model was built based on communication logic between configured intelligent electronic devices (IED) from ABB and Siemens. The laboratory tests were conducted in a half-loop grid model with a bilateral power supply (typical urban grid). The laboratory research concerned three locations of short circuits: between substation and section point, between two section points and between section point and normally open point (NOP). The logic implementation was developed using State Sequencer software offered by Test Universe.

Transport infrastructure objects are exposed to a large number of loads, which cause the formation of displacements, bends, wear, cracks, breakdowns, corrosion, and other defects. It is shown that at the moment of initiation of malfunctions in objects, the noise of the noisy signals coming from the corresponding sensor takes critical values that correlate with useful signals. Therefore, algorithms are developed for calculating the probability of random noise accepting critical values, a coefficient of correlation between the critical values of the noise and the useful component, and a relay cross-correlation function. Technologies for monitoring the technical condition of transport infrastructure objects are proposed based on the estimates of the developed noise characteristics. Computational experiments are conducted, and the reliability of the developed algorithms and technologies is confirmed.

Multilevel inverters have been widely used in various occasions due to their advantages such as low harmonic content of the output waveform. However, because multilevel inverters use a large number of devices, the possibility of circuit failure is also higher than that of traditional inverters. A T-type three-level inverter is taken as the research object, anda diagnostic study is performed on the open-circuit fault of insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) devices in the inverter. Firstly, the change of the current path in the inverter when anopen-circuit fault of the device occurred, and the effect on the circuit switching states andthe bridge voltages were analyzed. Then comprehensively considered the bridge voltages,and proposed a fault diagnosis method for a T-type three-level inverter based on specificfault diagnosis signals. Finally, the simulation verification was performed. The simulation results prove that the proposed method can accurately locate the open-circuit fault of theinverter device, and has the advantage of being easy to implement.

It is shown that modern geometry cars, flaw detector cars and other track test cars provide reliable control of the technical condition of all hauls of the railroad track at “certain intervals of time”. Their number is limited and therefore “continuous monitoring” of all hauls is almost impossible. At the same time, in real life, due to the impact of various factors, such as seismic processes, certain changes take place even a day after control. The authors consider one option for continuous monitoring of the beginning of changes in the technical condition of the track using intelligent tools, which allow one, by analyzing the useful signal and the noise from the soil vibrations caused by the rolling stock, to create informative attributes for identifying the technical condition of the track. The application of traditional technologies of correlation and spectral analysis and other methods for this purpose does not allow ensuring adequacy of the control results. This paper proposes a technology for extracting and analyzing useful vibration signals, the noise of vibration signals and the relationship between them. The estimates of both correlation and spectral characteristics of the useful signal and the noise are used as the main carriers of diagnostic information. Due to the simplicity and the reliability of implementation of the proposed technical tools, they can be easily installed in one of the cars of all rolling stocks, providing control of the beginning of changes in the technical condition of the track during their movement in all hauls

Opis:
The article presents new tools for investigating the statistical properties of the harmonic signal autocorrelation function (ACF). These tools enable identification of the ACF estimator errors in measurements in which the triggering of the measurements is non-synchronized. This is important because in many measurement situations the initial phase of the measured signal is random. The developed tools enable testing the ACF estimator of a harmonic signal in the presence of Gaussian noise. These are the formulas on the basis of which the statistical properties of the estimator can be determined, including the bias, the variance and the mean squared error (MSE). For comparison, the article also presents the ACF statistical analysis tools used in the conditions of synchronized measurement triggering, known from the literature. Operation of the new tools is verified by simulation and experimental studies. The conducted research shows that differences between the MSE results obtained with the use of the developed formulas and those attained from simulations and experimental tests are not greater than 1 dB.
