The current study validates the structural model of cause-effect relationship in light of organizational citizenship behaviour as a consequence and its determinants as causes, which ultimately generates a generalizable public service model for the countries that need substantial organizational transformation in public service delivery. The determinants of organizational citizenship behavior by taking a look into the social and personal factors that either drive an individual’s behavior drawing from the social circumstances at the moment of time, or personal motivation and inner characteristics that force an individual to act in favor or against good citizenship. To test the proposed research framework, post-community Azerbaijan’s ASAN Service is considered as the case. For the identification and validation of potential factors affecting organizational citizenship behaviour, the selected variables are employed as constructs of the conceptual framework, through which survey is designed and administered to collect data from the country citizens with regards of gauging the impact of the determinants. A quantitative methodological approach is selected, where data is collected through convenient sampling technique, while it is analysed using the structural equation modelling technique, with emphasis on AMOS v.24 software to test the structural model. The results of the hypothesized relations reveal that behavioural intention and organizational identification are strongly related to organizational citizenship behaviour, followed by distributive justice, public service motivation, selfconcept and goal clarity being secondary major determinants. However, procedural justice is not significant in predicting organizational citizenship behaviour, while subjective norm and task interdependence are weakly related to it.

This paper proposes a novel approach that integrates the capability of empirical validation of structural equation modelling (SEM) and the prediction ability of Bayesian networks (BN). The Hybrid SEM–BN approach was used as a decision support framework to examine the interplay between salient organisational constructs and their ability to influence engineers’ career satisfaction in the Australian Public Service (APS). The results emphasise that the ambidextrous culture for innovation was the most important factor that needed to be implemented in their organisation. Managerial implications are recommended for senior managers on how they can implement innovation culture to increase workplace innovation, which could, in turn, help reduce the turnover rate of engineers employed in the APS.

The increased focus on the logistics function has potential to increase competitiveness. This is especially true for globally aimed production companies. In any company, logistics functions cooperate with various related functions such as production, marketing, procurement, engineering or developing new products as well as with financial functions. Each of the aforementioned connections or cooperation among logistics and its complementary functions can have a decisive effect on the company's competitiveness. Using a survey, we determined which activities in the surveyed companies are performed by the logistical function together with the marketing function and which activities they suggest should be performed together but are currently not, meaning they are co-dependent. Since interfunctional integration between logistics and marketing increases the success of a company, we also examined the connection between the current joint performance of activities and the suggested joint performance of activities among the before mentioned sectors, connected to the effectiveness of the company. To examine the mentioned connections among the logistical and marketing functions, Explanatory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) were performed.

This paper discusses the approaches of Polish construction managers in terms of their preferences for the use of the two most popular project management (PM) standards and methodologies, namely PMBoK and PRINCE2. Our empirical survey was carried out in a group of managers and construction experts and involved 192 Polish SME companies from the Polish construction sector. The answers to the questionnaire were carefully analysed and interpreted with the use of the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Method. The results show what can affect the choice of management methodology, with a particular focus on such latent variables as PM flexibility, rigidity, knowledge and control. Our study provides empirical evidence which contributes to more effective management of investment projects undertaken by construction companies. The most important conclusions from our study are that PMBoK is more likely tied to flexibility and knowledge and PRINCE2 to rigidity and control. However, it does not necessarily mean that PMBoK has an advantage over PRINCE2. Simply put, the choice of the right methodology may depend on a number of other additional factors, such as: project size, its specific environmental conditions, size of a company implementing specific project, etc. Therefore, under certain conditions (e.g. for larger and more complex projects, etc.) it may be advisable to rely on the PRINCE2 methodology.
W artykule omówiono różnice pomiędzy dwiema najczęściej stosowanymi metodykami zarządzania projektami, a mianowicie standardem PMBoK i metodyką PRINCE2. Po pierwsze, dokonano dogłębnego przeglądu literatury dotyczącej zastosowania obu tych metodyk w zarządzaniu projektami budowlanymi. Po drugie, artykuł odpowiada na pytanie, co może decydować o specyficznych preferencjach menedżerów budowlanych w zakresie wyboru konkretnej metodyki zarządzania projektami. W tym celu przeprowadziliśmy badanie ankietowe wśród 192 przedstawicieli kadry kierowniczej małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw (MSP) działających w sektorze budowlanym w Polsce. W badaniu uwzględniamy szereg zmiennych latentnych, takich jak elastyczność, sztywność, wiedza i kontrola, z których każda składa się z 3-4 zmiennych obserwowalnych. Po dokonaniu przeglądu literatury doszliśmy do wniosku, że choć istnieje kilka prac porównujących obie metodologie, to według naszej najlepszej wiedzy nikt do tej pory nie przeprowadził kompleksowego badania empirycznego opartego na metodologii takiej jak modelowanie równań strukturalnych (SEM), uwzględniającego standardy i metodologie zarządzania oraz biorącego pod uwagę przeprowadzone w tym zakresie badania ankietowe, odwołujące się do opinii samych menedżerów budownictwa. Wcześniejsze badania dotyczyły zmiennych, które niekoniecznie są związane ze specyfiką metodyk zarządzania projektami. My wprowadzamy zestaw zmiennych, które są wykorzystywane do pomiaru efektywności zarządzania projektami. Sama ankieta miała bardziej rozbudowany charakter i zawierała wiele pytań, a tylko część z nich dotyczyła samych metodyk zarządzania projektami (tj. PMBoK i PRINCE2) i zmiennych, które teoretycznie można z nimi powiązać. Tak więc ankieta składa się z 4 obszernych grup pytań obejmujących szereg bardziej szczegółowych pytań; w sumie ankieta obejmuje 4 zmienne ukryte i 14 pytań, a za nimi aż 14 zmiennych obserwowalnych i kilka pytań metryczkowych. Wyniki ankiety zostały zweryfikowane z wykorzystaniem metodologii SEM, a dokładniej z wykorzystaniem modelu ścieżki oraz modelu konfirmacyjnej analizy czynnikowej, który pozwalaja na analizę wzajemnych zależności pomiędzy zmiennymi latentnymi. Każda ze zmiennych latentnych, na których opieramy nasze badanie, jest w pewnym stopniu uzasadniona na poziomie teoretycznym w kontekście każdej z badanych metodyk zarządzania projektami budowlanymi. Ponadto staramy się w sposób bardzo rzetelny i szczegółowy przedstawić samą metodę badawczą SEM w aspekcie badań budowlanych, zwracając uwagę, że metoda ta jest jedną z najczęściej stosowanych w badaniach naukowych i może być wykorzystywana do badania wielu różnych zagadnień naukowych, w tym również tych związanych z budownictwem. Ujmując to bardziej szczegółowo, zastosowana metoda badawcza pozwala zarówno na tworzenie modeli regresji, modeli ścieżek (path analysis), jak i na zastosowanie konfirmacyjnej analizy czynnikowej (confirmatory factor analysis).

The relationship between TQM practices and organizational commitment has been widely discussed in the industrial domain, particularly in developed countries. Less attention has been given to the educational field such as higher education institutions, particularly in less developed countries. This study aims to fill this gap by investigating the relationship between the implementation of TQM practices and organizational commitment in higher educational institutions of Qatar. The data have been collected using a self-reported questionnaire distributed to all academic and administrative staff. 170 useable questionnaires were collected with a response rate of 43%. Exploratory factor analysis was applied and resulted in four dimensions of TQM and two dimensions of organizational commitment. These dimensions were confirmed using confirmatory factor analysis using AMOS. SEM was applied to the data. The results show that the implementation of TQM practices will improve the dimensions of organizational commitment. However, not all TQM practices are positive contributors to organizational commitment. Leadership, vision and stakeholders focus do not contribute positively to the organizational commitment. The limitations and recommendation for future studies were also discussed.
Związek między praktykami TQM a zaangażowaniem organizacyjnym był szeroko dyskutowany w dziedzinie przemysłu, szczególnie w krajach rozwiniętych. Mniej uwagi poświęcono dziedzinie edukacji, takiej jak instytucje szkolnictwa wyższego, zwłaszcza w krajach słabiej rozwiniętych. Niniejsze badanie ma na celu wypełnienie tej luki poprzez zbadanie związku między wdrażaniem praktyk TQM a zaangażowaniem organizacyjnym w instytucjach szkolnictwa wyższego w Katarze. Dane zostały zebrane za pomocą kwestionariusza, który został przesłany do wszystkich pracowników naukowych i administracyjnych. Zebrano 170 użytecznych kwestionariuszy z odsetkiem odpowiedzi 43%. Zastosowano eksploracyjną analizę czynnikową, która zaowocowała czterema wymiarami TQM i dwoma wymiarami zaangażowania organizacyjnego. Te wymiary zostały potwierdzone przy użyciu potwierdzającej analizy czynnikowej przy użyciu AMOS. SEM zastosowano do danych. Wyniki pokazują, że wdrożenie praktyk TQM poprawi wymiary zaangażowania organizacyjnego. Jednak nie wszystkie praktyki TQM mają pozytywny wpływ na zaangażowanie organizacyjne. Koncentracja na kierownictwie, wizji i interesariuszach nie wpływa pozytywnie na zaangażowanie organizacyjne. Omówiono również ograniczenia i zalecenia dotyczące przyszłych badań.

Although customer satisfaction surveys are widely utilized by transit agencies, there are limited analyses in the literature on the perception of passengers as a result of service improvements. A before-after study can help to evaluate the effect of changes from customer’s points of view and thus guarantee a continuous improvement in the service. In this paper, customer satisfaction was directly observed through a Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS) before and after certain changes. Furthermore, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is utilized to evaluate passenger’s perception of the service attribute importance. Finally, an Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) is adapted to analyze the changes in satisfaction and importance from the passenger’s perspective on each service attribute. In both before and after cases, a consistent SEM structure is used. The follow-up IPA provides transit agencies with priorities to improve service attributes and helps managers to devote their resources to key attributes that matter to the riders. Metro line 3 in Tehran was selected as the case study which is 33.7 km long with 25 stations. Two surveys were performed one before (with the sample size of 300), and one after (with the sample size of 384) a set of changes the most important of which was a headway reduction. The SEM was developed with five latent variables of main service, comfort, information, protection, and physical appearance. This structure was assessed on both the before and after data collections and showed to be valid. Security at the station and security on board were the most important service attributes in both waves according to their factor loadings, while ethics and behavioral messages had the smallest factor loading and the least importance. Comparing the attributes in both surveys suggested that reducing the headway was effective, although it did not seem to be sufficient for enhancing the overall customer satisfaction and improvements need to be continued.

This research provides a tool to select and prioritize new comers to work based on their preentry organizational commitment propensity through examining links between the big five personality factors: extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, openness; and three component model of organizational commitment: affective commitment, continues commitment, normative commitment. Findings show that extroversion and openness respectively have positive and negative effects on all three components of organizational commitment. Results gained by Structured Equation Modelling (SEM) indicate neuroticism is negatively related to affective and continues commitment and positively to conscientiousness effects on continues commitment. In the second part of the study, the received results are applied to extract the general equations that enables to estimate new comer’s pre-entry organizational commitment and to rank them using TOPSIS and AHP. The AHP is used to determine the relative weights of commitment criteria and TOPSIS is employed for the final ranking of new comers based on these criteria’s.

This study was aimed to identify the relationship between problem solving skills, metacognitive awareness, and mathematics achievement as well as to identify the role of metacognitive awareness as a mediator. This study involved a total of 333 Form Four students from ten secondary schools in Malaysia. Data were collected using questionnaires, while information about mathematics achievement was provided by the school management. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique. Results indicated that all variables correlated significantly with each other, while path analysis revealed the mediation effect of metacognitive awareness between problem solving skills and mathematics achievement. The findings suggest the importance of problem solving skills in influencing secondary school students’ mathematics achievement through the development of metacognitive awareness.

Research background: Many authors emphasize that successful human resource management (HRM) practices align with employees’ needs associated with the construct of employees’ interests. In particular, the importance of considering employees’ interests is emphasized in the process of shaping the architecture of Socially Responsible Human Resource Management (SR-HRM) systems. Purpose of the article: The aim of the article is to contribute to understanding employees’ interests by designing and validating a measure to recognize these interests. Methods: Through the use of literature sources and expert opinions, the authors developed a list of employee interests. Empirical data collected via the survey method in Poland was used to statistically verify the measurement scale. In particular, exploratory factor analysis and exploratory structural equation modelling were applied. Findings & value added: This article shows that it is important to create a comprehensive list of interests, as well as validate the research tool used. The newly developed scale has 22 items and five dimensions: support and development at the level of the enterprise, employee participation, support and development at the departmental level, employment security, working conditions and remuneration. It may be used in a variety of companies, as well as in complex research models, and developed further taking into consideration the context of other countries.

Research background: The conditions of globalization lead to a situation where consumers are overloaded with commercial information. Moreover, abundance of various promotional techniques makes consumers indifferent to many companies' efforts. On the other hand, organizations are allocating tremendous parts of their budgets to create advertisements which sometimes remain unnoticed or do not stimulate consumer purchase intentions. Therefore, a wide body of scientific re-search on advertising effectiveness has emerged in recent years. Many aspects of advertising have been analysed, e.g. the effectiveness of advertising spokesperson, appeal, layout, etc. However, the research on advertising colour temperature and its impact on advertising effectiveness is still scarce. Purpose of the article: Considering the intensifying competition in the retail sector, creating attractive and stimulating advertisements becomes an important task for many organizations. The aim of this research is to determine the impact of the colour temperature used in advertisements on consumer purchase intentions. Methods: In order to determine the impact of advertising colour temperature on consumer purchase intentions, a questionnaire survey was provided. The questionnaire was elaborated based on the analysis and synthesis of scientific literature. Findings & Value added: The theoretical analysis substantiated the different influence of colours and colour temperature on consumer perception. Therefore, the assumption was made: all other parameters being constant, the colour temperature of an advertisement might have a different impact on consumer perception. The results of empiric research revealed the differences of the impact of colour temperature on consumer purchase decisions in terms of an attitude toward advertising and the brand, reported brand-related behaviour. The colour temperature related to insights for the enhancement of advertising effectiveness and guidelines for future research are provided.

The last decade has seen a distinct increase in the frequency of the appearance of virtual teams within contemporary organizations. As knowledge sharing within the virtual team leads to better team performance, a deeper understanding of enabling organizational capabilities is highly relevant to both researchers and managers. Therefore, in this paper we focus on the concept of "internal change agent support". More specifically, we use a qualitative research design to study the role of internal agent support within the relationship between knowledge sharing and virtual team performance. A theoretical model was built and verified by means of structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The authors found that internal change agent support has a moderating effect on relationship between knowledge sharing and the virtual team performance and the knowledge sharing within the virtual team influences positively virtual team performance. These results add to the emerging academic discussion on continuous change management within dispersed teams. Our findings are also relevant to managerial practice as they suggest how to facilitate the process of knowledge sharing in a team, thus improving its efficiency.

Time Perspective is the process by which people categorize, archive and recover personal and social experiences through temporal frames (past, present, and future), influencing various aspects of human behaviour and cognition. It was proposed that it is related to selfesteem, though until now the main approach when exploring this relation was correlational. In this study, we explore a structural equation model of Time Perspective’s association with Self-Esteem. The sample was composed of 474 undergraduate students with a mean age of 19 years. The final model presented a high predictive power of Self-Esteem (R2 =.39, p < .001) and good fit indices (x2/df = 2.1, CFI = .94, GFI = .91, RMSEA = .05) with two temporal dimensions entering the model: Past Negative (βSelf-Esteem.PastNegative = -.52, p < .001) and Future-Negative (βSelf-Esteem.FutureNegative = -.17, p < .001) showing that negative affects of time dimensions (rather than positive ones) are more related to Self-Esteem. Results are discussed in relation to Self-Esteem and TP literature.

The study is an attempt to verify a model of the relations between motivation, quality of attraction, benefits, satisfaction and the behavioural intentions of visitors to tourism attractions. The data for the analysis was collected from 582 visitors during the 10th Archaeological Festival at Biskupin. It was noted that the effect of the quality of the attraction on behavioural intentions leads to the benefits gained by the visitors. Benefits have a stronger total effect on behavioural intentions than visitor satisfaction.

Opis:
Predictive analysis is a vital element to operations management as it facilitates real-time decision making and advanced planning on both strategy and performance. This paper identifies predictors to measure distribution performance in the dairy industry and to establish their importance. Methods: A distribution model is developed through exploratory structural equation modelling (SEM) techniques. The key performance predictors are marketing and distribution management, quality management, supply chain coordination, and brand management, which account for 71.5% of the variability in distribution performance. Results and conclusion: The predictors help improving the distribution performance, specifically in quality, order fill rate, and food safety. The outcomes of this research can help dairy professionals in managing their distribution channels, improving traceability, on-time delivery, and shipment accuracy. Consequently, these factors can improve distribution performance. Four predictors are elicited from the data to estimate the distribution performance and the relative importance of predictors is also established.
