Current priorities of improving the activities of government and public structures, associated sectors of economy on optimizing the principles and forms of social inclusion of this category of population are determined.

This research examined teachers’ opinions on the forms, causes, and consequences of deviant behavior among senior school students in Ilorin South Local Government Area in Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive form of survey research. The study population consisted of teachers of public senior secondary schools in Ilorin South; the study group was comprised of 322 teachers selected from 23 schools in the area using the purposive sampling technique. A questionnaire designed by the researcher with 28 items using a four-point Likert scale was used to elicit the necessary data from the respondents. The tool was checked for content validity and the split-half method revealed a reliability index of 0.68. A descriptive statistical method of percentages was used to answer the research question. The findings revealed that lateness, truancy, disrespect of the school authority, and examination malpractice were some of the forms of deviant behavior prevalent among the students. Also, access to illicit drugs and over- or under-pampering of children were considered some of the causes of deviant behavior, while academic failure, increased dropout rates, increased social vices, and an inconducive teaching and learning environment were thought to be the consequences of deviant behavior. Therefore, the provision of adequate facilities, monitoring of students’ activities at all times, and professional counselling are possible solutions to the problem of deviant behavior among the students.

The aim of the article is to present the importance of social security and to show the role it plays in shaping the national security of the Republic of Poland. The publication also shows the social and psychosocial risks posed by modern pathologies. This also addresses the threat posed by demographic problems. The data of the Central Statistical Office and materials published in this matter were analyzed. Social threats and their impact on state security have been shown. In addition, the most important challenges facing Poland are discussed in order to ensure the safe existence of citizens. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie znaczenia bezpieczeństwa społecznego oraz pokazanie roli, jaką odgrywa ono w kształtowaniu bezpieczeństwa narodowego Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej. Publikacja pokazuje również zagrożenia społeczne i psychospołeczne wywoływane przez współczesne patologie. Omówiono tu także zagrożenie powstałe w wyniku problemów demograficznych. Przeanalizowano dane Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego i materiały opublikowane w tej sprawie. Ukazano zagrożenia społeczne i ich wpływ na bezpieczeństwo państwa. Ponadto omówiono najważ- niejsze wyzwania stojące przed Polską w celu zapewnienia bezpiecznej egzystencji obywateli. Autor wskazuje na możliwe konsekwencje i ryzyko przedstawionych tu zagrożeń dla kraju.

The subject of the homeless is rarely raised by the media. In the press and on television there is information about them mostly when it comes to their death or substantial bodily injury. Homelessness is a social problem of an extreme, and the consequences – pathological. Therefore, you should write about it and talk to ex-plain to the public the causes, consequences and the risks associated with it. Many ways lead to knowledge and understanding of the causes of this problem. This social phenomenon of a global nature requires effective programs out of homelessness. They should be designed to help the unit in awareness of their own powerlessness and lack of skills, understanding the need to ask for help, winning trust and confidence, experience a sense of security resulting from their own actions and restoring hope.

Podlegający obowiązkowej edukacji młody człowiek potrzebuje obecnie spójnych narzędzi i elementów do budowy osobistego modelu moralnego. W dokumentach ministerstwa właściwego do spraw oświaty i wychowania zawarte są wiodące treści i cele nauczania etyki w szkole, wyeksponowane na bazie zmian w prawie oświatowym. Szczególnie Podstawa programowa ukazuje wytyczne organizacyjne oraz ideowe dla nauczania etyki na wszystkich etapach edukacyjnych. Zaproponowane treści na zajęcia dotyczą zagadnień etycznych i filozoficznych. Uczniowie mają szansę poznawania prawa moralnego, imperatywu moralnego, prawa naturalnego, dobra moralnego. Propozycja ministerialna nakazuje ćwiczyć umiejętność rozpoznawania wartości i kierowania się sumieniem w życiu oraz rozwiązywania dylematów moralnych w dobie kryzysu moralnego. Warto jednak pamiętać, że etyka jako przedmiot alternatywny dla religii w szkole ma zdecydowanie mniejszą liczbę uczniów. Jest to rezultatem zakorzenienia w tradycji chrześcijańskiej polskiej społeczności edukacyjnej. Popierając lekcje z etyki dla tych. którzy nic zdecydują się na uczestniczenie w wyznaniowych lekcjach religii rzymskokatolickiej, należy dołożyć starań, aby uczniowie nie rezygnowali pochopnie z dotychczasowych lekcji religii. Można to uczynić poprzez podniesienie jakości kształcenia religijnego i kompetencji nauczycieli.
In recent years the number of Polish schools, in which the subject “ethics” is taught, has been dynamically growing. Since the number of recipients of ethical contents has been growing as well, the demand is ever greater for the abilities to redirect children and young people to religion classes, and if - for whatever reason - they cannot attend them, it is necessary to lead them to ethics lessons. A young man subject to obligatory education at present needs coherent tools and elements to build his personal moral model. In the documents issued by the ministry responsible for education and upbringing leading contents and aims of teaching ethics at school are contained and they are exposed on the basis of changes in the law concerning education. Especially Podstawa programowa (Program basis) shows organizational and ideological directives for teaching ethics on all the education stages. The proposed contents of the classes are concerned with ethical and philosophical issues. Pupils have a chance to acquaint themselves with the moral law, the moral imperative, the natural law, and the moral good. The ministerial proposition orders one to exercise the ability to discern values and to be guided by the conscience in one’s life, as well as to solve moral dilemmas at the age of moral crisis. However, it is worth remembering that ethics as a subject alternative to religion at school has a decidedly smaller number of students. This is a result of Polish educational community being rooted in the Christian tradition. Supporting ethics lessons for those who will not make the decision to participate in denominational lessons of the Roman-Catholic religion, efforts should be made so that students will not rashly give up religion lessons they attended formerly. This can be done by raising the quality of religious education and of the teachers’ competences.

The aim of our study was to examine adolescent personality in relation to the adolescent school-related self-concept, in particular to its cognitive aspect according to W.U. Meyer’s conception. In addition to selected personality dimensions, our paper focuses also on gender relations of the adolescent school-related self-concept. The research sample was made up of grammar school and university students (N = 100). The five-factor model of personality NEO-FFI (P.T. Costa, R.R. McCrae) and SCEA-M questionnaire (U. Engler, W.U. Meyer) were used as research tools. The results show a statistically significant relationship between neuroticism and fear of social consequences. There is also a statistically significant relationship between conscientiousness and the self-concept of ability. Statistically significant gender differences in favour of women appear in the dimension of fear of social consequences.

W artykule przedstawiono zmiany podstawowych elementów ruchu naturalnego w Polsce na początku XXI w. oraz ich przewidywany przebieg do 2035 r. w wybranych dużych miastach. Efektem spadku liczby urodzeń oraz umieralności jest postępujące starzenie się społeczeństwa polskiego. Zmniejsza się nie tylko liczebność populacji Polaków, ale następują również niepokojące, z punktu widzenia odnawialności pokoleń, zmiany. Stawiają one nowe wyzwania polityce społecznej. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań pokazały, że w perspektywie 2025 r. w obszarze edukacji na poziomie szkół podstawowych i gimnazjów utrzymanie wartości wskaźników charakteryzujących dostępność uczniów do nauczycieli i bazy materialnej na poziomie 2012 r. będzie wymagać znacznego poszerzenia zasobów kadrowych i rzeczowych. W 2035 r. tak duże zasoby nie będą już potrzebne. W całym rozważanym horyzoncie czasowym, czyli do 2035 r., utrzymanie dostępności ludzi starszych do świadczeń szpitalnych oraz instytucjonalnej pomocy społecznej wymaga natomiast znacznej rozbudowy jednostek przeznaczonych do realizacji takich świadczeń.
The paper presents the changes in the basic elements of natural movement in Poland in selected large cities in the early XXI century and their predictable course until 2035. The result of the fall in the number of births and the mortality rate is progressive aging of Polish society. This reduces not only the population of Poles but also leads to disturbing changes in demographic renewal and pose new challenges of social policy. Study results showed that in the year 2025 in the field of education at elementary and secondary level, maintaining the value of indicators characterizing the availability of students to teachers and the material base level of the year 2012 will require a significant enlargement of resources in staff and equipment. However, already in 2035 as large means will no longer be needed. As regards to the entire considered time horizon, that is, by 2035 to maintain the availability of elderly people to hospital services and institutional social assistance requires a substantial expansion of units designed to provide such benefits.

Zjawiskiem, które zagraża poczuciu bezpieczeństwa pracowników w procesie pracy, a także ich zdrowiu, jest molestowanie seksualne. Autorka omawia to zjawisko z perspektywy pedagogiki społecznej, a dokładniej - pedagogiki społecznej uwrażliwionej na płeć (inspirowanej feminizmem); stąd jej zainteresowanie molestowaniem seksualnym kobiet. A phenomenon, which threatens employees feeling of security, as well as their health, is sexual harassment. The authoress discusses the phenomenon from the perspective of social pedagogy, to be precise - gender sensitive social pedagogy (inspired by feminism); that's why her interest in sexual harassment of women. In the first part of the text the authoress outlines the perspective of analysis accepted by her. Then she characterises the phenomenon of sexual harassment: its types (Quid pro quo form and Hostile environmental type), range and factors of risk. Talking about consequences of harassment she indicates threaten of physical, psychical and also sexual health of a woman, and violation of her sexual rights. In the last part of the text we find out how the law helps to protect employees, as well as what activities should be taken to prevent sexual attack and harassment.

This article sheds light on the unintended consequences of temporary migration from Poland by combining Merton’s functional analysis with Levitt’s work on social remittances. In addition to economic remittances, Polish migrants have been bringing norms, values, practices and social capital to their communities of origin since the end of the nineteenth century. The article presents a juxtaposition of the non-material effects of earlier migration from Poland, dating from the turn of the twentieth century, with those of the contemporary era of migration from Poland since the 1990s. The analysis shows that some aspects, such as negotiating gender roles, the changing division of household labour, individualistic lifestyles, new skills and sources of social capital, and changing economic rationalities are constantly being transferred by migrants from destination to origin communities. Contemporary digital tools facilitate these transfers and contribute to changing norms and practices in Polish society. The article demonstrates that migration fulfils specific functions for particular sections of Polish society by replacing some functions of the communist state (e.g., cash assistance and loans from communist factories, factory and post-coop cultures) and by facilitating their adaptation to changing conditions (e.g., changing gender relations, new models of family, job aspirations and social mobility).

Social support is essential for mental and physical health and plays an important role in reducing the risk of returning to prison. The main sources of prisoners’ social support are relatives with whom they have the right to communicate using a variety of forms. The frequency of contact depends on the type of prison. However, little research examines prisoners’ communication with their relatives. The study was conducted on 478 men between the ages of 16 and 68 (M = 35,2; SD = 9,7), who were serving a prison sentence in one of five penitentiary facilities. The analysis revealed that the majority of incarcerated men had contact with their relatives, usually in a form of phone calls. The majority of them had contact with a mother. The study also demonstrated that the percentage of contacts with relatives decreased with age and time spent in prison.

Artykuł prezentuje projekt badawczy oparty na procesie zbierania danych przy wykorzystaniu metody pamiętnikarskiej oraz indywidualnego studium przypadku. Projekt był skoncentrowany na eksploracji doświadczeń bezrobocia we współczesnej Polsce. Autorzy wskazują tradycje badań pamiętnikarskich w Polsce oraz podstawowe założenia konkursu i badań z lat 2017–2018. Autorzy dokonują przeglądu współczesnych badań nad problematyką bezrobocia i na tle dominujących perspektyw oraz ich ustaleń zarysowują nowy wymiar kwestii społecznej bezrobocia. Sięgając do treści pamiętników portretują wyłączenia z rynku pracy z powodu naruszeń godności pamiętnikarzy i niezgody na podejmowanie pracy poniżej kwalifikacji. Autorzy pamiętników powszechnie wskazują na doświadczaną w przeszłości eksploatację w miejscu pracy i jednoczesne aspirowanie do podejmowania pracy na miarę potrzeb, potencjału i przypisywanych sobie kompetencji. Autorzy wskazują szereg wymiarów doświadczeń bezrobocia przez młodych, wykształconych Polaków, odwołując się w tym względzie do „jakości” dostępnej pracy, doświadczeń w poszukiwaniu pracy, kontaktów z administracją pracy, problemów w zakresie zdrowia psychicznego czy kryzysów w relacjach.
The authors root their text in the traditions of memoir/diary research in Poland. They present the basic assumptions of collecting diaries through a competition in 2017–2018 and of research on this material. The authors review contemporary studies of unemployment. At the backdrop of the dominant perspective looming from these studies, they outline a new dimension of unemployment as a social issue stemming from the research of the diaries’ content. They focus on the authors’ of diaries exclusion from the labor market and their resistance against taking up jobs below qualifications. The authors of diaries commonly point to the past exploitation in the workplace and simultaneous aspiration to take up work tailored to their self-estimated needs, potential and competences. In the article, several dimensions of the unemployment experience among young educated Poles are outlined with the reference to the ‘quality’ of available work, experience in looking for a job, contacts with labor administration, mental health problems or relationship crises.

The goal of the article is to describes the impact of parental behaviour on children’s lives. The main body discusses the neglect of parental duties and the misguided attitude towards raising children exhibited by some parents. Additionally, the article describes the phenomenon of orphanhood and its connection with the problems that some parents are unable to cope with. The second part focuses on the most harmful consequences of certain negative behaviours exhibited by some parents. The final part of the article is a list of personality disorders and the other problems that children suffering from social orphanhood may experience.

Opis:
Article deals with the problem of termination of pregnancy when the prenatal diagnosis proves the genetically impaired development of foetus. Author focuses on the solution of this issue within ethics of social consequences which represents a form of non-utilitarian consequentialism. Analysis of given issue is addressed especially through the value of human dignity and humanity which function as an axiological fundaments of this ethical theory. Article includes the consideration of circumstances which can happen in this conflicting situation, particularly it addresses the fact that impaired fetal development may lead into various levels of intellectual disability of newborn child and it also discusses whether it would be in accordance with humanity and human dignity to bring such a child into existence.

The article addresses the problem of urban mass tourism in the context of its consequences, with emphasis on phenomena that have an adverse effect on the quality of life for local communities. The aspects of analysis described by the authors are an example of operationalizing the indicator-based approach to the assessment of mass urban tourism to identify its economic and social consequences for the cities of Poznań and Wrocław. Drawing on the analysis of statistical data and in-depth interviews with local tourism experts, the authors conclude that focus on tourism in urban management can contribute to positive economic effects, while the awareness of how tourism can affect various aspects of social life can help to create sustainable solutions.
