Opis:
Permanent magnet motor drive is a widely used technology, offering many advantages, such as exceptional speed, torque control and greater flexibility. Improvement of reliability and efficiency has become a great research interest. Towards this direction and taking into account the major developments in permanent machine technology over the recent years, the use of energy recovery converters has been introduced in various industrial applications. In this paper, the effects of harmonics on a three-phase motor controlled by a drive are analysed, and the behaviours of the filter topology after adopting regenerative drives are studied. The main contribution of this study is a methodology to foresee the standards that can be achieved with the use of an active front end system topology with filters. Moreover, the use of an optimum filter that eases the power system distortion is presented. The analysis presented in this paper is validated experimentally.

Critical infrastructure risks pose a special problem for all countries. The companies that own these infrastructures operate in competitive and regulated environments. However, it is neither practical nor possible to protect critical infrastructures from all hazards. For the government, the continuity of these infrastructures is critical to many of its fundamental missions: economic stability and growth, national security, public safety, and quality of life. In that context resilience has become an important factor to fulfil the task of the critical infrastructure protection. Thus, the development of a framework to establish resilience goals could be helpful.

Opis:
The fractional order proportional, integral, derivative and acceleration (PIλDµA) controller is an extension of the classical PIDA controller with real rather than integer integration action order λ and differentiation action order µ. Because the orders λ and µ are real numbers, they will provide more flexibility in the feedback control design for a large range of control systems. The Bode’s ideal transfer function is largely adopted function in fractional control systems because of its iso-damping property which is an essential robustness factor. In this paper an analytical design technique of a fractional order PIλDµA controller is presented to achieve a desired closed loop system whose transfer function is the Bode’s ideal function. In this design method, the values of the six parameters of the fractional order PIλDµA controllers are calculated using only the measured step response of the process to be controlled. Some simulation examples for different third order motor models are presented to illustrate the benefits, the effectiveness and the usefulness of the proposed fractional order PIλDµA controller tuning technique. The simulation results of the closed loop system obtained by the fractional order PIλDµA controller are compared to those obtained by the classical PIDA controller with different design methods found in the literature. The simulation results also show a significant improvement in the closed loop system performances and robustness using the proposed fractional order PIλDµA controller design.

Opis:
One of the greatest challenges facing official statistics in the 21st century is the use of alternative sources of data about prices (scanned and scraped data) in the analysis of price dynamics, which also involves selecting the appropriate formula of the price index at the elementary group (5-digit) level. When consumer price indices of goods and services are constructed, a number of subjective decisions are made at different stages, e.g. regarding the choice of data sources and types of indices used for the purpose of estimation. All of these decisions can affect the bias of consumer price indices, i.e. the extent to which they contribute to the overall uncertainty about the resulting index values. By measuring how robust consumer price indices are, one can assess the impact that the decisions made at the different stages of index construction have on the index values. This assessment involves analysing uncertainty and sensitivity. The purpose of the study described in the article was to determine how much and in which direction the consumer price index changes when including scanner and scraped data in the analysis, in addition to the data on prices collected by enumerators. The impact of these new data sources was assessed by analysing uncertainty and sensitivity under the deterministic approach. To the best of the authors' knowledge, it is a novel application of robustness analysis to measure inflation using new data sources. The empirical study was based on data for February and March 2021, while scanner and scraped data about selected categories of food products were obtained from one retail chain operating hundreds of points of sale in Poland and selling products online. It was found that the choice of a data source has the most significant impact on the final value of the index at the elementary group level, while the choice of the aggregation formula used to consolidate different data sources is of secondary importance.

Dynamiczny rozwój infrastruktury komunikacji miejskiej obejmującej linie autobusowe, trolejbusowe, tramwajowe, linie metra, kolei podmiejskiej, itp. składające się na tzw. Multimodalne Sieci Transportowe (MST) rodzi wiele nowych problemów.
This paper describes a declarative approach to modeling a multimodal transportation network (MTN) composed of multiple connecting transport modes, such as bus, tram, light rail, subway and commuter rail, where within each mode, service is provided on separate lines or routes. The considered model of a network of multimodal transportation processes (MTPN) provides a framework to address the needs for transportation networks robustness while taking into account their capacity and demand requirements. Therefore the work focuses on evaluation of the network robustness allowing distinguished multimodal processes to continue in order to accomplish trips following an assumed set of multimodal chains connecting transport modes between origins and destinations. Consequently, a solution to the problem of prototyping robust transits on a given multimodal network is implemented and tested. The conditions that guarantee the network robustness, taking into account disruptions of supply and demand as well as operational control, are provided. The aim of investigations is to provide a tool for evaluating the robustness of a network of multimodal transportation processes as well as different travel modes through a transportation network.

Solutions obtained using the model of a constraint satisfaction problem developed in this study are validated in series quantitative and qualitative experiments. With a view to future implementation in a Decision Support Systems dedicated to prototyping of proactive personnel allocation, a methodology employing the concept of a competency framework-based robustness measure is proposed. Implemented in a declarative framework, the proposed approach allows one to find a redundant competency framework robust to a given set of disruptions.

A product is referred to as robust when its performance is consistent. In current product robustness paradigms, robustness is the responsibility of engineering design. Drawings and 3D models should be released to manufacturing after applying all the possible robust design principles. But there are no methods referred for manufacturing to carry and improve product robustness after the design freeze. This paper proposes a process of inducing product robustness at all stages of product development from design release to the start of mass production. A manufacturing strategy of absorbing all obvious variations and an approach of turning variations to cancel one another are defined. Verified the application feasibility and established the robustness quantification method at each stage. The theoretical and actual sensitivity of different parameters is identified as indicators. Theoretical and actual performance variation and accuracy of estimation are established as robustness metric. Manufacturing plan alignment to design, complimenting the design and process sensitivities, countering process mean shifts with tool deviations, higher adjustable assembly tools are enablers to achieve product robustness.

In robust Bayesian analysis a prior is assumed to belong to a family instead of being specified exactly. The multiplicity of priors leads to a collection of Bayes actions. It is clearly essential to be able to recommend one action (estimate, predictor) from this set. We consider the problem of robust Bayesian prediction of a Poisson random variable under LINEX loss. Some uncertainty about the prior is assumed by introducing three classes of conjugate priors. The conditional Г-minimax predictors and posterior regret Г-minimax predictors are constructed. The application to the collective risk model is presented.
Wyznaczamy predyktor warunkowo Г-minimaksowy i predyktor o Г-minimaksowej utracie a posteriori. Podajemy zastosowania w kolektywnym modelu ryzyka.

Direct torque control (DTC) allows for very high quality torque control without a need for current controllers tuning or using coordinate transformation. However, barge torque ripples arise as well as inconstant inverter switching frequency due to the hysteresis of comparators. This paper present a backstepping/DTC control based on the space vector modulation (SVPWM) for double star synchronous machine (DSSM) to reduce the torque, flux, current and speed pulsations during steady state. By the coordinate transformation the DSSM models are presented in view of control. Then a conventional DTC is developed to get a decoupled system and a PI controller is designed to control the speed. To improve the static and dynamic control performance of the DSSM, the speed controller is designed using a backstepping/DTC procedure in conjunction with SVPWM. Simulation results with the conventional DTC and proposed backstepping/DTC are presented and compared. Results show the effectiveness and the robustness of the approach proposed.

Envelope constrained filter design is concerned with the time domain synthesis of a filter whose response to a specified input signal stays within prescribed upper and lowe bounds and in addition has minimal noise enhancement. In many practical applications, a "soft" approach, such as least mean square, is not the most suitable and it becomes necessary to use "hard" constraints such as the ones considered in the paper. We present an overview of key ideas related to robust continuous time envelope constrained filter design.
