The increase in socio-pathological phenomena in adults in Slovakia during the transformation period manifested itself also in the increase in problem behaviour in children and youth thus creating a social need for increased effectiveness of prevention and its professionalisation in schools. In the current school practice, pupils’ aggressive behaviour, even against teachers, is not sporadic. Despite the severity of this problem it is paid little attention.

Opis:
The analysis of stories written by pupils from sixth and seventh grades proves that they evaluate the depicted world mainly by means of stylistic word formation devices, especially hypocoristic forms and epithets, most frequently of positive markedness. They are also willing to apply exclamations, e.g. łał! and colloquial words such as spoko and goœciu. Their application of phraseological expressions and the creation of metaphors does not seem to be very frequent. Metaphors serve mainly as means to describe abstract concepts, e.g. Rozkwitająca miłość przypomina wschód słońca (The thriving love resembles a sunrise). The analysis of the stories proves that pupils evaluate positively what brings them satisfaction, provides a feeling of safety and what is beautiful, which means that moral, aesthetic and hedonistic values are important to them. Negative valuation, in turn, concerns, first of all, what is related to pain, fear, violence, i.e. with vital and moral anti-values.

There are no studies based on a comparative analysis of the responses of parents, their children and teachers of physical culture. The locality of complete and accurate information makes the right choice of the means and forms of physical education of pupils rather complicated. Aim of research − to identify the forms of physical education, which are popular among students and are appropriate according to the opinion of parents and physical culture teachers. Over 150 works of native scientists have been processed. A questionnaire of 182 physical culture teachers from 102 secondary schools in the Ukraine; 1017 pupils of middle school age and their parents has been conducted. We have used nonparametric methods. The forms of sports-oriented physical education are significantly ahead of short physical exercising and motile breaks by popularity. In the rating of parents, short physical exercise leads, and the results in this group are only slightly inferior to advocating sports sections. Teachers of physical culture also pay great attention to sports sections, sports competitions and short physical exercise. The results for pupils of the special medical group are definitely more interesting than for other children. The decline of interest in "aging" pupils is observed within all forms of physical education, but the highest reduction of interest is in the attitude of pupils to "little" forms. Sports sections, sports competitions, short physical exercise and motile breaks are the favorites among middle school age pupils. Although participation in sports competitions and advocating sports sections are more preferred by boys than girls.

Opis:
The Internet and cyber-space create a platform where a new form has emerged, i.e., bullying, so far occurring mainly within school premises. The study presents results of empirical research conducted at selected elementary and secondary schools in Slovakia in 2017. The aim of the study was to elucidate the most frequent current cyber-bullying platforms and occurrence of individual forms of cyber-bullying with regard to cyber-victims. The research sample consisted of 1004 respondents, aged 10–20 (AM 14.9). Empirical data were collected using the method of questioning in the form of a written questionnaire. We focused on cyber-bullies, electronic platforms and identification of cyber-bullying forms from the point of view of cyber-victims and pupils’ gender and age. It was found out that 24.50% of pupils reported to have been cyber-victimized, girls more often than boys. The most frequent form of cyber-bullying from the point of view of cyber-victims was abusive or offensive language on the Internet and spreading rumours on the Internet.

Opis:
Obok dorosłych obywateli Ukrainy, coraz liczniejsza grupa to dzieci i młodzież, którzy, mieszkając w Polsce, zobowiązani są do uczestniczenia w systemie edukacji. Zagadnienie to zostało opisane w niniejszym artykule.
The rise in the number of immigrants from Ukraine in Poland is clearly visible in years 2003–2014. The main part of it is economic immigration, caused by a worsening economic situation of Ukraine and political instability, including military conflict connected with Russian aggression. More and more numerous group, beyond adult citiziens, are children and pupils, who are obliged to continue their education in our country. For example, students from Ukraine (their number, universities where they study, majors of education) it seems that the analysis of the stay in Poland of pupils – citizens of Ukraine in Polish schools has not been carried yet. The aim of the article is to analize this issue. Legal, financial and territorial (divided into types of schools and educational institutions) issues as well as the numbers of students have been discussed. Also the issue of learning mother tongue by pupils has been discussed.

The study encompassed a group of 63 blind pupils and 63 seeing pupils. The study used the twelve series B matrices from the Progressive Matrices of John C. Raven. A detailed analysis of the dependencies between the variables permitted the determination of differences between groups of pupils in terms of reasoning using geometric analogies.

The study builds on the article published by the authors in No. 3/20201.Its aim is to present further results of the international comparative analysis. The study deals with the revealed social context influencing younger pupils’ reading. Respondents’ statements were obtained through a questionnaire of own design. Items related to the social context arose from a qualitative analysis of focus interviews in the previous research phase. The research sample consisted of 693 Slovak, 254 Czech and 248 Polish pupils 9-10 years old. Findings showed differences between national groups. Pupils prefer reading with someone; mothers are the most important partners for sharing, fathers read slightly more often only to Polish pupils. Polish pupils prefer reading aloud in front of an audience the most. Teachers as partners for reading interests are the most prominent in the Polish group. The study presents findings and differences in international comparisons of the social context of younger pupils’ reading.

The arrival of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) has brought about intense methodological restructuring in the participating countries. These changes, along with the development of ICT, are reshaping the Higher Education system. The emergence of advanced technological tools like the Moodle platform has altered the teaching-learning process at every educational cycle. This paper springs from the work undertaken as part of the ongoing project for Educational Excellence in collaboration with three Andalusia universities: Seville, Cadiz and Huelva. The study was entitled Tele-education Platforms for Virtual Instruction. Since work at the University of Huelva has taken into consideration the students at some point, and the University of Córdoba lacks research on this area, we decided to examine the role of the student at the University of Cordoba as side-work to the original project. To this purpose, we designed an instrument to determine the students’ rate of use, level of satisfaction and level of knowledge of the Moodle platform. Thus, with this paper we would like to emphasize the relevance of students as key elements in the education system, as recipients of the teaching process.
