Traditionally Poland is a immigrant import country. Since Poland joined EU, Poland has attracted more and more immigrants from other countries. Chinese people started to come to Poland in the beginning of 90s. Recently, since the 21st century, more and more Chinese come to Poland. Currently, Chinese has become the largest number of people from Asian countries coming to Poland. Chinese people have a variety of occupations in Poland. The skilled, and high educated Chinese people have relatively high position in Poland, while there are also labor forces coming from China. This article will discuss the overview of Chinese people in Poland, occupations, and living conditions of Chinese in Poland, and some cases of Chinese people in Poland after the deep depth interview.

Article presents condition of Polish creamery industry and degree of its fitting for requirements of common markets of European Union.
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki analizy stanu polskiego przemysłu mleczarskiego pod kątem jego przystosowania do wymogów prowadzenia działalności na rynku Unii Europejskiej. Scharakteryzowano relację produkcji mleka i podstawowych produktów mleczarskich w Polsce i w UE. Dokonano charakterystyki struktury towarowej i geograficznej zagranicznych obrotów handlowych Polski wyrobami z mleka. Przedstawiono liczbę i rozmieszczenie mleczarń posiadających uprawnienia do wprowadzania swoich produktów na obszar innych państw Unii Europejskiej oraz scharakteryzowano te uprawnienia w ujęciu przedmiotowym.

This paper analyses Polish foreign trade in dairy products in the aspect of the European integration. At present, the EU countries are the main recipients of Polish dairy products. Poland?s accession to the EU caused a significant growth of Polish dairy trade. The biggest (fourfold) growth in export value applied to butter, while cheese import value doubled. The clear convergence of Polish dairy products prices was noticed after Poland?s accession to the EU. 
Zmiana warunków prowadzenia wymiany handlowej, związana z włączeniem Polski w obszar Jednolitego Rynku Europejskiego i dostosowaniem polskiego sektora rolno-spożywczego do standardów UE, wywarła duży wpływ na rynek mleka i produktów mleczarskich. Celem artykułu było przeprowadzenie analizy polskiego handlu zagranicznego artykułami mleczarskimi w warunkach integracji z UE. Największymi odbiorcami polskich produktów mleczarskich są obecnie kraje UE. Przystąpienie Polski do UE spowodowało dynamiczny rozwój handlu artykułami mleczarskimi. Wartość eksportu najbardziej (czterokrotnie) zwiększyła się w przypadku masła, a importu (dwukrotnie) - w przypadku sera. Po akcesji Polski do UE nastąpiła wyraźna konwergencja cen polskich produktów mleczarskich z cenami unijnymi.

W artykule dokonano oceny stanu zaawansowania procesu integracji rynków finansowych Polski i strefy euro. W pierwszej części przeprowadzono teoretyczną analizę wpływu procesu integracji rynków finansowych na tempo wzrostu gospodarczczego. W części drugiej przeprowadzono badania empiryczne stopnia integracji rynków finansowych Polski i strefy euro. W części trzeciej zawarto rozważania dotyczące wpływu procesu integracji Polski ze strefą euro na kierunki rozwoju i efektywność polskiego rynku finansowego.
The aim of this article is to asses the stage of integration of financial markets of Poland and euro area. The first part presents a theoretical analysis of the effects of integration of financial markets on economic growth. In the analysis, the issue of the functioning of the currency unions was taken into consideration. The second part contains an empirical analysis of the degree of integration of financial markets. The third part contains a discussion of the impact of the integration with the euro area on the efficiency of financial markets.

Celem artykułu jest zbadanie wagi uczestnictwa Polski i Meksyku, a więc państw średniej wielkości w instytucjach mostu atlantyckiego z ich perspektywy. Prowadzimy interdyscyplinarne badanie relacji regionalnych i transregionalnych ugrupowań integracyjnych i sojuszu obronnego. Szukamy odpowiedzi na pytanie o możliwą sytuację geopolityczną i geoekonomiczną Polski i Meksyku w przypadku osłabienia bądź rozpadu UE, NAFTA i NATO. Przedstawiamy dwa skrajne scenariusze skutków Brexitu i wyborczego zwycięstwa D. Trumpa. Według pierwszego UE i NAFTA nie przetrwają. Dla Polski i Meksyku oznaczać to będzie brak zewnętrznego wsparcia dla reform społeczno‑polityczno‑gospodarczych i barier przed destrukcją państwa demokratycznego i wartości liberalnych. W drugim scenariuszu zarówno Brexit, jak i trumpizm są jedynie turbulencjami, po których układ odzyska stabilność. Będzie następować dalsze zmniejszanie różnic rozwojowych między Polską i Meksykiem z jednej strony a państwami UE i NAFTA z drugiej.
The aim of this paper is to examine the importance of the participation of Poland and Mexico, as medium‑sized countries, in institutions of the Atlantic Bridge, viewed from their perspective. We conduct an interdisciplinary study into relationships of regional and transregional integration groupings and defence alliances. We analyse the possible geopolitical and geo‑economic situation of Poland and Mexico in the event of weakening or disintegration of the EU, NAFTA, or NATO. We present two extreme scenarios as possible results of Brexit and the electoral victory of Donald Trump. According to the first scenario, the EU and NAFTA will not survive. For Poland and Mexico this would mean a lack of external support for reforms and of the barriers protecting them from disintegration of their democratic states and liberal values. In the second scenario, both Brexit and Trumpism are seen as only turbulences, after which the systems will regain their stability. In this scenario, there would be a further decrease in the developmental differences between Poland and Mexico on one hand, and the EU and NAFTA on the other.

The article is devoted to the opportunities and the constraints of the quantitative approach in studying migrant integration in Poland. It is argued that taking into account the specific character of the inflow of foreigners to Poland, the small number of migrants and temporariness of mobility, some special methodological solutions are needed, regarding mainly the sampling procedures. At the same time, it is claimed that the representativeness of the results should be targeted. Taking into account the existing limitations, the article recommends first of all quantitative studies of selected groups of migrants and areas where they are present. The methodological reflections demonstrated in the article are based on two quantitative research projects conducted by the Centre of Migration Research, University of Warsaw.

Uwaga autorki została skoncentrowana na szansach i zagrożeniach, jakie mogą czekać polskie przedsiębiorstwa w funkcjonowaniu na jednolitym rynku europejskim, warunkując w ten sposób specyficzne drogi ich rozwoju.
The article shows the problem of integration of Poland into the European Union in the context of Polish companies. It was taken into consideration here that to come into being effectively onto the European Market, Polish companies already have to make the effort to adapt to the Union requirements. The process of adaptation is unquestionably extremely difficult and expensive, but we should be aware of the fact that apart from the threats it may also stand a chance (hopefully better and better), and when the Polish companies properly take the chance, it may determine their development.

In terms of immigration flows, Poland is not only a transit country but also a place where increasing numbers of immigrants from the European Union and outside of it decide to settle down. At the same time our knowledge of the immigrants’ integration processes is very scarce. This article, based on the recent research data from the Lesser Poland region, sheds new light on the adaptation processes within the largest immigrant communities in this part of the country. It employees the ethnosizer (Constant et al. 2009) – an index which enables a quantitative assessment of the ethnic identity of immigrants – adapting it to the Polish migration realities. The authors critically evaluate the ethnosizer’s utility for future in-depth research on the integration of immigrants in Poland pointing out its weak and strong sides. The study analyzes four largest immigrant groups which reside in the region of Lesser Poland, namely: Armenians, Ukrainians, Vietnamese, and immigrants from MENA countries. The results indicate inter alia that Armenians and Ukrainians are the most integrated immigrant groups, while the Vietnamese are the most likely to opt for the separation strategy.

The aim of the article is to present the position of the Muslim League in Poland on the issue of citizenship. The paper focuses on the aspect of citizenship in the institutional and legal area stressing civic duties associated with civil loyalty, participation and identification. Additionally, the analysis is supplemented with the issue of Muslim integration into the Polish society. Moreover, the article highlights the role of Islam as a factor determining the civic attitudes presented by the Muslim League in Poland. The manner in which the problem of citizenship is presented in the paper indicates that it is referred to the declared positions, which characterize the particular religious association, rather than the communities of the Polish Muslims of immigrant origin. The analyzed concept of citizenship created by the League is religiously conditioned. The catchphrase: to be a good Muslim means to be a good citizen, which the League refers to, seems to be of the highest significance in his context. This example shows that a religion in this case can be an important factor determining the civil attitudes in the process of integration of the Muslim communities of immigrant origin with the Polish society, and in the broadest perspective, with the European communities.

Artykuł poświęcono prawnym aspektom sprzedaży internetowej. Uwzględniono współczesne przeobrażenia w systemach komunikacji (spowodowane przede wszystkim powstaniem Internetu) i prowadzeniu działalności gospodarczej oraz większego i bardziej dostępnego zestawu możliwości oferowanych przez globalną sieć. Podkreślono, że tym wszystkim problemom powinno sprostać prawo, poprzez dostosowanie ustawodawstwa do zmieniających się warunków ekonomicznych.
The subject of this paper deals with on-line selling in consumer turnover, which is one of the oldest and most commonly concluded contracts, carried out however with the use of modern and more and more common medium which is the Internet. The paper shows specific legal consequences resulting from such contracting in consumer turnover, presented against the legally binding regulations applied by the European Union and most updated Polish regulations, particularly the ones applied in the field of different ways and techniques of concluding contracts via the Internet, legal qualification of the form in which the contract has been concluded, the use of electronic signature while concluding contracts via the Internet, special protection of customers who conclude contracts "at a distance", including the use of the Internet, and legal forms of payment for the Internet transactions

The causes and circumstances of making a Polish-Czechoslovak declaration by immigrant representatives of the three enslaved nations of East-Central Europe in 1986 are discussed. The declaration pointed to an interest in a detailed form of cooperation in the future. The basis for signing it was the agreement between Sikorski's and Beneš's governments of 1942, in which the will to form a confederation within a post-totalitarian order in the region was expressed. History has shown that the political scenario realized later had not been written with considerable participation of the emigration circles. Analyzing the issue from the historical and politological-legal points of view the author makes an attempt at answering the question concerning the place of this document in the process of the systemic transformation that took place in the region at the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s.

Punktem wyjścia prowadzonego w tym artykule wywodu jest teza o istniejących między Polską a Portugalią podobieństwach z zakresu zagadnień migracyjnych. W pierwszym rzędzie, celem wykazania owych podobieństw, autorka prześledziła historię Portugalii z perspektywy migracyjnej od czasów wielkich odkryć geograficznych. Jednocześnie wybrane portugalskie doświadczenia odniesiono do sytuacji Polski w omawianym zakresie. Następnie przybliżono wdrożone w Portugalii określone rozwiązania o charakterze politycznym, które wpisują się w ramy – wysuwanych przez Rafała Matyję, Annę Siewierską-Chmaj i Konrada Pędziwiatra – poszczególnych postulatów zasadniczych wytycznych polskiej doktryny imigracyjnej. A wspomnianymi postulatami są: po pierwsze, udzielanie ochrony uchodźcom; po drugie, działanie na rzecz szeroko pojmowanej repatriacji; po trzecie, otwarcie na migrantów z Europy, a także z innych zbliżonych do niej pod względem kulturowym obszarów i dostrzeżenie w nich potencjalnych współobywateli oraz po czwarte, przedsiębranie działań mających na celu sprowadzenie do Polski wysoko wykwalifikowanych obcokrajowców.
The thesis that there is a resemblance between Poland and Portugal in the field of migration issues is serving as a starting point for this article. First of all, the author looks at the history of Portugal since the Age of Exploration from a migration perspective. At the same time, the chosen events of Portuguese history refer to the situation of Poland within the scope of this article. Then, the author describes specific political solutions implemented in Portugal, which are compatible with a suggestion for the fundamental guidelines on the Polish immigration doctrine put forward by Rafał Matyja, Anna Siewierska-Chmaj, and Konrad Pędziwiatr. Those guideposts are: firstly; protection for refugees, secondly; working for broadly understood repatriation, thirdly; being open to migrants from Europe, as well as from other culturally similar areas and identifying them as potential fellow citizens, fourthly; undertaking a task aimed at bringing highly qualified foreigners to Poland.

Niniejszy artykuł składa się z dwóch części. Pierwsza jest poświęcona opisowi mechanizmów wewnątrz- i międzysystemowej reprodukcji nieufności, na przykładzie empirycznych danych dotyczących procesu (re)dystrybucji funduszy unijnych, jakie napłynęły do Polski w tzw. pierwszym okresie programowania. Część druga to analiza systemowych uwarunkowań braku zaufania, koncentrująca się przede wszystkim na problemach funkcjonalnego różnicowania się zasadniczych subsystemów (schyłkowego) państwa bezpieczeństwa socjalnego, ich autonomii i wzajemnej komunikacji. Poniższy tekst nawiązuje do koncepcji systemu autopojetycznego autorstwa Niklasa Luhmanna oraz zawiera wstępną propozycję rozwinięcia koncepcji zaufania w ramach teorii systemu autopojetycznego. Autor stawia tezę, że przyczyną systemowych trudności dotyczących alokacji funduszy unijnych jest nierównomierne różnicowanie się subsystemów administracyjnego, politycznego i społecznego na najistotniejszym dla rozdziału funduszy poziomie regionalnym. W konsekwencji „funkcjonalnego zapóźnienia” systemu społecznego pojawia się reprodukowanie nieufności (albo niedobór tzw. uogólnionego, systemowego zaufania), które prowadzi zarówno do perturbacji w reprodukcji wewnątrzsystemowej administracji i polityki, jak i do zakłóceń komunikacyjnych w ich relacjach wzajemnych oraz w komunikacji obydwu z subsystemem społecznym. Zaufanie to dla każdego systemu niezbędny „tryb działania” przede wszystkim w momentach zwiększonego ryzyka reprodukcyjnego (wzrastającej kontyngencji), w rodzimym systemie administracyjnym taka sytuacja powstała niewątpliwie w związku z integracją z UE i niemającym precedensu w swej skali transferem środków. Tekst zawiera opis reprodukcji i ewolucji systemu, odnosi się do wykorzystywania środków przyznanych Polsce na lata 2004–2006, a także do fazy przygotowawczej do okresu programowania 2007–2013. Opis został oparty na wynikach jakościowych badań terenowych przeprowadzonych przez zespół pod kierownictwem Grażyny Skąpskiej w gminach południowej Polski, które skonfrontowano z danymi statystycznymi oraz wynikami kontroli NIK.
The article deals with the issues of structural and cohesion funding by the European Union in Poland and with the problem of trust as a missing factor in all the process of EU fund’s distribution. Although all funds earmarked for the first programming period 2004-2006 were allocated, the process posed certain problems. In his paper the Author points to the weaknesses of the system and some of the hindrances to efficient fund allocation: faulty institutional and legal framework, bureaucracy, corruption and personnel deficits. Reffering to Niklas Luhmann’s theory of autopoietic systems, he presents a sketch of an unevenly differentiated political system, in which administration and politics prevail over the underprivileged public, incapable of counteracting trends of politicization and bureaucratization. Due to its low level of differentiation, social system is unable to produce so called abstract trust which could serve as instrument for reducing the growing complexity of administrative system. By showing the evolution and reproduction of the system, the Author relates to its deficits and their impact on the future use of the EU fund inflow. The Author bases his findings on a research incorporating 150 in-depth interviews carried out in four regions of Poland.

The aim of this article is to examine the specific nature of the mobility patterns and labor market integration of the Turkish community in Poland, and to situate those phenomena in the broader context of migration from Turkey to northern Europe. Migration from Turkey to Poland is much newer than migration from Turkey to Western European states but has grown dynamically in the past decade. These migration flows are distinct from those inside the EU or from post-Soviet European countries such as Ukraine or Belarus to Poland. The article distinguishes three occupational trajectories that are typical for Turkish migrants in Poland. These paths are characterized by the various social environments in which they develop: the host society, the ethnic community, and the international (expat) community. Analysis reveals the great importance of co-ethnic networks, which play an even more crucial role because Turkish mobility to Poland is not supported by the state policies of either the sending or receiving country. The article refers to data from an original qualitative study (in-depth interviews) as well as to official statistical data from various sources.

Opis:
Chairing the Council of the European Union underlines the importance of the state in integrated Europe. However, the recent amendments to the Treaty have given rise to significant changes in the functioning of this institution. Our understanding of this concept as well as of its functions and methods has changed. This is particularly important for Poland, which in July 2011 will take over the half year presidency. The new conditions of operation pose both opportunities and challenges. This article presents the model of the Presidency and its role both before the Treaty of Lisbon and immediately after it. It also discusses the ability of countries holding presidency, especially Poland, to handle these changes. The author examines the conditions, strengths and weaknesses of Poland with respect to exercising this function.
Prezydencja w Unii Europejskiej podkreśla i wyróżnia znaczenie państwa w zintegrowanej Europie. Niemniej, ostatnie zmiany traktatowe pociągnęły za sobą dość istotne zmiany w funkcjonowaniu tej instytucji. Zmianie uległo samo rozumienie tego pojęcia, jej funkcje i metody działania, a to także wpłynęło bezpośrednio na kształt modeli. Jest to szczególnie ważne dla Polski, która w lipcu 2011 roku przejmie na pół roku przewodnictwo w Radzie. Nowe warunki działania stanowią zarówno szansę, jak i wyzwanie. Artykuł przybliża oblicze prezydencji i jej roli zarówno przed Traktatem z Lizbony, jak i bezpośrednio po nim oraz bada możliwości działania, jakie po tych zmianach stoją przed państwami sprawującymi prezydencję, w tym przede wszystkim Polską. Autorka analizuje uwarunkowania, mocne i słabe strony tego państwa oraz ocenia proces przygotowań do sprawowania tej funkcji.
