Opis:
Freedom as a subject of academic research in psychology has always been confined to a space regarded as difficult to explore. Since the beginning of psychology as a branch of science the discussion of freedom has been largely absent or fragmented. This is mainly due to the lack of agreement on the most appropriate method of examination of different phenomena. The adoption of a specific repertoire of methodological and philosophical assumptions has ignited interest in the topic and issues of freedom. The history of freedom being present in psychology is an ongoing struggle between different paradigms regarding the nature of this subject and its associated methods of examination.

Pre-school education, as the first level of general human education, has been an important area in the 40-year work of the Department of Early Childhood Education and Media Pedagogy. During these years, the reality of pre-school education has undergone (and is still undergoing) a peculiar transition from the technological paradigm to the humanistic paradigm. In the technological approach, based on positive philosophy and behaviorism, the axis of education was the curriculum, and its central figure was the teacher. The role of the child consisted in adapting to the curriculum and the requirements of the kindergarten. Children’s needs and their capabilities were not exhibited in the process of education. In the education based on a humanistic approach, derived from anti-intellectual naturalism, pedagogical progressivism and humanistic psychology, the central figure is the child, and the main purpose of education is to support his/her development. The teacher is to be a helper, a guide and is to allow the child to grow according to his/her own developmental potential. Thus, the curriculum no longer plays the most important role, but the child does – the entity. Parents have also been involved in the process of pre-school education, and they have also gained a sense of subjectivity. Due to the fact that changes in education do not take place quickly, and the pre-school education system has been firmly fixed for several decades, it can be said that currently pre-school education is in the stage of searching for its (new) path. Some elements of the technological system are still present, but we also observe many changes towards humanistic, subjective education.

The question about how religious pluralism should properly be understood from the Catholic point of view has been asked since the outset of Christianity. It was also formulated in the context of A Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together signed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad Al-Tayyeb. The present article gives a theological interpretation of the sentence included in the Abu Dhabi document: “The pluralism and the diversity of religions, color, sex, race and language are willed by God in His wisdom, through which He created human beings.” It argues that this passage should be understood correctly within the inclusivist paradigm that recognizes and confers to non-Christian religions and to religious pluralism a status de iure without jeopardizing the foundations of Catholic faith: the unicity and salvific universality of Jesus Christ and the Church. In conclusion, the question concerning the application of the assertion to the case of Islam has been explored.

The objective of this article is an analysis of the perceptive consequences of the neo-evolutionary paradigm in social studies from the point of view of human resource management in its decisional rationality aspect. The results of socio-biological, cognitive, evolutionary psychology, and behavioral economics studies have, to date, been largely ignored in management. Today, however, is seeing the laying of the structure of a new neo-evolutionary paradigm in social studies that will most probably lead to an enlightening of the field of study of human behavior, including in the realm of organization and management. Such a far-reaching change in the cognitive perspective shall also usher in significant consequences in human resource management.

Indagacja naukowa dotyczy oceny nałożenia na podmioty niepubliczne prowadzące młodzieżowe ośrodki socjoterapii obowiązku utworzenia szkoły w ramach ich struktury organizacyjnej, w wyniku zmian wprowadzonych przepisami ustawy z dnia 20 lutego 2015 roku o zmianie ustawy o systemie oświaty oraz niektórych innych ustaw. Podstawę prawną określenia, w jakim stopniu oddziaływania socjoterapeutyczne przynoszą pożądane efekty w odniesieniu do młodzieży i instytucji socjalizacyjnych, stanowią aktualnie obowiązujące przepisy ustawy z dnia 7 września 1991 roku o systemie oświaty oraz rozporządzenie Ministra Edukacji Narodowej z dnia 2 listopada 2015 roku w sprawie rodzajów i szczegółowych zasad działania placówek publicznych, warunków pobytu dzieci i młodzieży w tych placówkach oraz wysokości i zasad odpłatności wnoszonej przez rodziców za pobyt ich dzieci w tych placówkach. Generalnym celem postępowania pedagogicznego winna być zakończona sukcesem socjalizacja nieletnich, która przyczynia się nie tylko do ich uspołecznienia i integracji ze wspólnotą ale również, na nieco ogólniejszym poziomie, do jednolitości norm i wartości koniecznych dla spójności całego społeczeństwa.
The scientific research concerns the evaluation of imposing on non-public persons running of socio-therapeutic youth centers, the duty of establishing a school within the scope of their organizational structure, as a result of changes introduced according to the act of law of 20.02.2015 about the change of the law of school system and some other laws. The legal basis of determining in to what extend the socio-therapeutic actions result in desired effects with regard to the youth and social institutions, constitute the now in force legal rules of the act of law of 07.09.1994 about the Education System and the legal rules of the decree of the Ministry of National Education of 02.11.2015 about the types and the detailed rules of the public institutions, conditions of residence of the children and the youth in such places and the rules and the amount of the payment made by the parents for the stay of their children in those centers. The general aim of the pedagogical behavior should be a successful socialization of the youth, which results not only in their socialization and integrationwith the community, but also, on a more general level, in homogeneity of norms and values necessary for the unity of the whole society.

The aim of the article is to show the correlation between the subject-participatory paradigm and the basic features of qualitative pedagogical research in practical terms. The choice of this research topic can be justified by the insufficient range of literature in the field. Therefore, the subject-participatory paradigm will be explored from the personalistic perspective, with reference to the constitutive features of pedagogical qualitative research in order to address the research problem while taking into account the above-mentioned correlation. The starting point is the concept of the subject-participatory paradigm grounded in the thought of Karol Wojtyła. Then, in conducting a hermeneutic analysis, the author refers to the concepts of scientists such as Dariusz Kubinowski, Krzysztof Szmidt, Marcella Kelly, Maura Dowling, Michelle Millar, Matthew de Carlo, and others. Also, references are made to the research stages, mainly embedded in the creative methodology, which can facilitate the emergence of the correlation between the aforementioned paradigm and the constitutive features of pedagogical qualitative research.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The goal of the article is to identify the most significant factors that influence the general trends towards the new dimension of university-business partnerships. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The authors state that modernization processes are essential for social development based on two paradigms: the new paradigm of development policy and the knowledge-based economy paradigm. Authors based their assumptions on the rational choice theory, as well as network institutionalism. The preliminary results of the research were based on 23 individual in-depth interviews with representatives of research institutions, universities and entrepreneurs’ associations, in four cities in Poland (Cracow, Poznan, Warsaw, Wroclaw). THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The new goal of development policy is not only the growth of GDP per capita, but also the raise of living standards. Many of the premises are planted in the modern understanding of global economy, based on knowledge-based economy paradigm, according to which the key ability is to implement research into service and production processes (Błaszczyk et al., p. 70), and university-business partnerships might be the right instrument to achieve that to a greater extent. RESEARCH RESULTS: On the basis of the preliminary research results presented in the article the authors have come to the conclusions that there are three specific levels, within which processes of social change take place, in case of university-business partnerships: 1. culture/customs, 2. legal regulations, 3. access to financial support. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The processes of social change in the context of the new paradigm of development policy have already started – there is a significant need of each of the actors to undertake cooperation, as it is a prerequisite of innovative growth. However, the conditions to start it are not yet sufficiently developed. Hence, there is a strong recommendation that the course of development policy was strongly based on the creation of improved conditions for cooperation.

The author states that there are in our vocabulary three, and only three, classes of semantic units: a) predicates, i.e. generic concepts – the result of our conceptualization of the world; they represent more than 90% of the vocabulary; b) operators of reference – a small, almost closed set bounding predicates to their concrete denotates; c) proper names, which are by definition referentially bound and are object of research of a specialized linguistic discipline. Thus, the main tasks of our grammar are (1) to define and to describe the scope of the grammaticalization in the language in question and (2) to present the semantic classification of predicates, the description of their – bound and/or free – functioning in the text included.

In this paper, we examine the meta-ontology of AI systems with human-level intelligence, with us denoting such AI systems as AIE. Meta-ontology in philosophy is a discourse centered on ontology, ontological commitment, and the truth condition of ontological theories. We therefore discuss how meta-ontology is conceptualized for AIE systems. We posit that the meta-ontology of AIE systems is not concerned with computational representations of reality in the form of structures, data constructs, or computational concepts, while the ontological commitment of AIE systems is directed toward what exists in the outside world. Furthermore, the truth condition of the ontology (which is meta-ontological assumption) of AIE systems does not require consistency with closed conceptual schema or ontological theories but rather with reality, or in other words, “what is the world” (Smith, 2019, p.57). In addition, the truth condition of AIE systems is verified through operational success rather than by coherence with theories. This work builds on ontological postulates about AI systems that were formulated by Brian Cantwell Smith (2019).

The article discusses the problem of objectivity in humanistic (literary) research methodology. A starting point is Thomas Khun’s question concerning conditions that would initiate a paradigm. The author of the article refers to considerations on the influence of bodily integrity (attributes and modes of ‘the matter’) and on human thinking (on what can be logically thought). The author follows the path of logic investigations that lead to the concept of experimental literary criticism (three‑dimensional reading of the texts), which is closely connected with the recently forgotten idea of truth, as defined by Charles Sanders Peirce.

This article attempts to demonstrate the potential of semiotics for translation studies. Even though semiotic paradigms can be observed across certain theories advocated by translation scholars, it seems that a clear and integrated semiotics-based model of translation has not been developed yet. The hypotheses developed in the article may help to answer the question whether it is feasible to draw a relevant model of translation that would include categories for the most significant variables influencing the process of translation. To this end the article offers an analysis of various research models and discusses the potential of a semiotic framework of reference.

T.S. Kuhn’s concept of paradigm differentiates between mature sciences and pre-paradigm sciences. In the case of the latter, it is possible for various approaches to compete with one another. Polish security sciences are currently occupied with seeking paradigms. On the one hand, this search may lead to a homogenisation of opinions within the discipline, or to opposing views on the other. This search is a consequence of evolving opinions within the field, which has a relatively short history in Poland, and constitutes an attempt at determining its defining features. This paper presents various approaches to the concept of paradigm posited by researchers of broadly-defined security, which, as a consequence, constitute evidence of security’s multi-paradigmaticality. The research problem is to answer the question of whether the approaches presented in this paper actually constitute the basis necessary to formulate a set of coherent scientific foundations of the discipline, as analysed from a paradigmatic point of view.
