Contemporary times pose many threats to life and health. The type of changes in many areas of human life, e.g. changes in the economy, value loss, consumerism causes unexpected intensification of extreme social problems, e.g. suicides. Suicide is an extremely complex phenomenon in its aetiology, which is a problem not only of individual but also of social pathology. Due to their size, structure and dynamics, and above all the social consequences of suicidal behaviour, suicidal behaviour is an important social problem that cannot remain unnoticed.

During the study authors stated that the main determinant of demoralisation of youth, joining scarfers subcultures, where they act with aggression and brutal violence, are disturbances in the process of their education and socialization. They have presented, in their opinion, the most important factors determining the processes leading to deviant and pathological behaviour of youth, whose negative final is criminal activity. These determinants, in their opinion, are: family environment, school, peer group and negative social background. According to the researchers, occurrence of dysfunction in these areas results in criminalisation of the youth, which takes place in an informal group, which are the scarfers. The authors conclude that it is necessary to start comprehensive programs aimed at improving situation in family, schools, which in addition to implementation of educational process, should focus their attention on pedagogical work. Without taking into account, in a comprehensive way, all of the indicated factors, we cannot achieve the goal of normalisation of environments associated with fans.

This article provides an empirical study on the cancer patients’ quality of life undergoing surgery with the formation of intestinal stoma. The study involved 311 people aged from 32 to 63 years tested using the method of SF -36. The study reached the following conclusions. Individuals suffering from cancer pathology undergoing surgery with the formation of intestinal stoma, showed signs of lowering the overall quality of life. Indicators of physical health component of cancer patients reach low values in all components: role functioning due to physical condition, the intensity of pain, and general health. Scale defining mental health component of patients lead to the conclusion that cancer has a negative impact on the emotional state of the patient: the presence of depressive, anxiety tendencies, impaired social functioning, vitality and general psychological disadvantage.

Any organizational activity is constantly accompanied by side effects which contribute to the fact that organizational goals are not fully achieved. These phenomena and mechanisms are commonly defined as Using terms such as dysfunctions, pathologies, errors or malfunctions. Management pathology is a long-lasting significant malfunction in organizational management processes. For example, mobbing can be treated as a pathological condition, but also a dysfunctional mechanism leading to organizational malpractice. The aim of this article is to present the latest methods of counteracting organizational pathologies, including mobbing. The main research method was unstructured in-depth interviews. The solution describes specific cases of companies and the reasons for such and not other actions. The author of the legal part will be many years of practice and the creator of similar solutions.
Wszelkiej działalności organizacyjnej nieustannie towarzyszą zjawiska niepożądane, które przyczyniają się do tego, że cele organizacyjne nie są w pełni osiągane. Te zjawiska i mechanizmy potocznie określa się m.in. przy użyciu takich pojęć, jak: dysfunkcje, patologie, błędy czy niesprawności. Patologią zarządzania jest długotrwała istotna niesprawność w procesach zarządzania organizacją. Przykładowo mobbing może być traktowany jako stan patologiczny, ale również dysfunkcjonalny mechanizm prowadzący do nieprawności organizacji. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie najnowszych sposobów przeciwdziałania patologiom organizacyjnym, w tym mobbingowi. Główną metodą badawczą były nieustrukturalizowane wywiady pogłębione. Przedstawione rozwiązanie opisują konkretne przypadki firm i powody podjęcia takich, a nie innych działań. Autorem części prawnej będzie wieloletni praktyk i twórca podobnych rozwiązań.

This article summarizes current knowledge on the genetics and possible molecular mechanisms of human pathologies resulted from mutations within the genes encoding several myosin isoforms. Mutations within the genes encoding some myosin isoforms have been found to be responsible for blindness (myosins III and VIIA), deafness (myosins I, IIA, IIIA, VI, VIIA and XV) and familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (β cardiac myosin heavy chain and both the regulatory and essential light chains). Myosin III localizes predominantly to photoreceptor cells and is proved to be engaged in the vision process in Drosophila. In the inner ear, myosin I is postulated to play a role as an adaptive motor in the tip links of stereocilia of hair cells, myosin IIA seems to be responsible for stabilizing the contacts between adjacent inner ear hair cells, myosin VI plays a role as an intracellular motor transporting membrane structures within the hair cells while myosin VIIA most probably participates in forming links between neighbouring stereocilia and myosin XV probably stabilizes the stereocilia structure. About 30% of patients with familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy have mutations within the genes encoding the β cardiac myosin heavy chain and both light chains that are grouped within the regions of myosin head crucial for its functions. The alterations lead to the destabilization of sarcomeres and to a decrease of the myosin ATPase activity and its ability to move actin filaments.

Opis:
Indexing methods are very popular in terms of determining the degree of disability associated with motor dysfunctions. Currently, indexing methods dedicated to the upper limbs are not very popular, probably due to difficulties in their interpretation. This work presents the calculation algorithm of new SDDI index and the attempt is made to determine the level of physical dysfunction along with description of its kind, based on the interpretation of the calculation results of SDDI and PULMI indices. Methods: 23 healthy people (10 women and 13 men), which constituted a reference group, and a group of 3 people with mobility impairments participated in the tests. In order to examine possibilities of the utilization of the SDDI index the participants had to repetitively perform two selected rehabilitation movements of upper extremities. During the tests the kinematic value was registered using inertial motion analysis system MVN BIOMECH. Results: The results of the test were collected in waveforms of 9 anatomical angles in 4 joints of upper extremities. Then, SDDI and PULMI indices were calculated for each person with mobility impairments. Next, the analysis was performed to check which abnormalities in upper extremity motion can influence the value of both indexes and interpretation of those indexes was shown. Conclusion: Joint analysis of the both indices provides information on whether the patient has correctly performed the set sequence of movement and enables the determination of possible irregularities in the performance of movement given.

The middle Euphrates valley (Syria) is a very interesting and important region for the history of Mesopotamia. The excavations are currently carried out at Tell Ashara and Tell Masaikh. The first site is primarily the remains of a Bronze Age (ca. 2700–1500 BC). At Tell Masaikh were discovered the remains of settlement from the Chalcolithic (c. 4500 BC), and the middle Bronze Age, as well as a huge governor’s palace from the times of the Assyrian empire’s days of glory (c. 800–650 BC). The paper is a summary of anthropological research conducted in 2009.We have been excavated 80 human skeletons (50 individuals from Tell Masikh, and 30 from Tell Ashara).

In this document, the authors present the results of the long-term monitoring of the condition of the eyes of victims of the Chernobyl catastrophe. The patient examinations were conducted using our system of standard inspection and description of the condition of the eye. We have summarized the development of this system in another paper. Ocular effects in patients as a result of the Chernobyl accident have been classified either as specific irradiation injuries, attributable only to radiation exposure, or ophthalmopathology that is observed under normal conditions, but for which radiation exposure is an important risk factor. This division is particularly apparent when examining the clean-up workers in Chernobyl.

Mobbing is one of the examples of pathology in organization management. In the article, we presented the problem in the perspective of organizational games using the technique of participant observation. The article is not intended to stigmatize the help facility, but to show mobbing as a significant and difficult problem for the victim. It has destructive effects and is difficult to identify and prevent. The authors believe that the article will help to pay attention to the essence of the problem and to notice negative effect.

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is a professional association that supports professionals that provide services across a broad range of communication sciences and disorders including speech-language pathologists, audiologists, speech, language and hearing scientists and support personnel including speech-language pathology assistants and audiology assistants. ASHA’s key areas of focus for the future of speech-language pathology includes educating members and faculty to prepare graduate students for practice in these changed arenas. The purpose of the article is to show how ASHA is actively involved globally and locally in establishing standards and providing services in several domains including prevention and wellness, screening, assessment, treatment, collaboration with other professionals, counselling and modalities, technology and instrumentation as well as population and systems.
American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Amerykańskie Stowarzyszenie Mowy i Słuchu – ASHA) jest stowarzyszeniem, które wspiera specjalistów świadczących usługi w szerokim zakresie nauk o komunikacji i jej zaburzeniach oraz logopedów, audiologów, naukowców i pracowników personelu pomocniczego, zajmujących się problematyką głosu, mowy i słuchu, w tym asystentów logopedów i asystentów audiologów. Kluczowe obszary działalności ASHA, skupiające się na przyszłości logopedii, obejmują edukację członków oraz jednostek kształcących logopedów w celu przygotowania absolwentów do praktyki w wymienionych obszarach. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie, jak ASHA jest aktywnie zaangażowana (globalnie i lokalnie) w tworzenie standardów i świadczenie usług w wielu dziedzinach, jak profilaktyka i odnowa biologiczna, badania przesiewowe, diagnozy, leczenie, współpraca z innymi specjalistami, poradnictwo i sposoby wykorzystania technologii oraz oprzyrządowania specjalistycznego zarówno dla społeczeństwa, jak i organizacji.

In the Middle Euphrates Valley, excavations are currently carried out at Tell Hariri (ancient Mari) and several sites near Tell Ashara. Our research area is Terqa and its surroundings. Terqa lies on the right bank of the Euphrates, about 60 km to the north-west from the ancient city of Mari. In 1996, excavation work was extended beyond ancient Terqa onto the area 6 km away to the north, to Tell Masaikh. Initially, it was rescue excavation, but with time it became regular archeological work. The paper is a summary of anthropological research conducted in 2008.We have been excavated 82 human skeletons (58 individuals from Tell Masikh, and 24 from Tell Ashara).

The manuscript presents the results of anthropological work in Tell Masiakh, conducted in 2010 season. Unfortunately the 15th season of excavation was conducted only in Tell Masaikh. The second site (Terqa) was closed for the excavation. The human remains were studied in an excavation house in Tell Ashara, and some samples were prepared for further analyses in specialist laboratories (histological, radiological and molecular examination). In sum, the remains of 70 individuals were examined: 18 (2 males, 2 females, the sex of the rest is unknown) come from Tell Masaikh from this season, 52 were found at Tell Masaikh and Tell Ashara in the previous seasons (2008, 2009).

The picturesque landscape and tourist assets make Warmia and Masuria one of the most attractive regions in Poland. The area is commonly referred to as the “green lungs of Poland” and the “land of a thousand lakes”. Nonetheless, Warmia and Masuria rank among the poorest regions of Poland. The unemployment rate is the highest in Poland. Transport infrastructure (road and rail) is poorly developed. The tourism-oriented profile contributes to poor development of industry and commerce. Social and demographic problems to a considerable extent impact and determine the level of security of local communities. As demonstrated by research, safety and unemployment link with other social pathologies.

Opis:
The histopathological examination provides information about the spatial assessment of pathological changes in the tissue. The authors present a method of extending this histopathological spatial assessment with a 3D view consisting of images of microscopic layers. The proposed solution creates 3D models based on images obtained from the database of the Medical University of Gdańsk (Digital Pathology). First, a series of medical images related to the study of a specific pathological tissue undergoes a process of background detection and removal through an algorithm. Next, images aligned with each other. Then, two types of 3D models are created: 1) classical model with Marching Cubes algorithm and 2) the use Cloud of Points.

In every society, there is socially constructed dominant, highly valued, and eagerly gratified model of sexuality of men and women which could be named gender grata. Gender non grata means all that stays in opposition to the main stream, widely legitimized sexual behaviour. The extremum of gender non grata seems to change. It depends on complex social dynamics rooted in religion, science, various groups of interests, and engagement of moral crusaders. Some time ago, this extremum was represented by masturbation; currently, pathological epicenter is occupied by pedophilia. This phenomenon can be placed and analyzed within various frames of reference. The one used in this article is labeled as moral panic.

The International Conference "Nursing Diagnosis & Midwifery 2018" held on 10-11 September 2018 in Prague (Czech Republic) was important for the international environment of midwives and nurses. The Event gathered representatives of medical professions from almost all continents. Over 26 lectures on various medical and nursing topics and poster sessions were presented. This allowed for the deepening of knowledge in field ofmidwifery, nursing and medical related sciences. It was a great opportunity to discussissuesthat are omitted in the framework of midwiferyand nursing programs, where such topicsare very important in the face of the threat of terrorism not only in the European Union.

Introduction and aim. The purpose of the article is to analyze the peculiarities of suicidal behavior as a result of maladjustment of servicemen to the conditions of military service in Ukraine. The tasks of the article are to identify among militaries: 1) the most significant risk factors for autoregressive and suicidal behavior; 2) the psychological peculiarities of adaptive disorders that may lead to suicide; 3) protective factors against autoregressive and suicidal behavior. Material and methods. To solve the problem of our research, a set of methods was used: theoretical methods – theoretical and methodological analysis of scientific sources, their systematization, classification, generalization; empirical methods – the observation, the interview, a questionnaire, testing, the method of expert assessments. In general 420 militaries were participated in our research. The participants of the 1st stage of the study were 240 militaries in the age 18-25 years old with suicidal and auto-aggressive behavior in anamnesis and one or more attempts of suicide. These militaries were treated in the psychiatric hospital № 1 in Kyiv (Ukraine). At the 2nd stage of the study 180 militaries were participated. They were treated in the Main Military Clinical Hospital (the Center), Kyiv, Ukraine. The research was organized during May–November, 2021. Results. We investigated that 120 militaries had various forms of post-suicidal encephalopathy, such as acute affective, non-psychotic state. The number of patients with residual psychoorganic pathology was 41 people (34.16%); after poisoning there were 37 people, the number of patients with toxic encephalopathy – 33 people (27.5%); after self-arson – 9 people, there were 4 patients (3.33%) with burn encephalopathy. We identified the following clinical variants of depressive reactions as a result of maladjustment and suicidal attempts: 1) the reaction of disadaptation in combination with neurosis-like disorders (48.9%); 2) the reaction of maladjustment including hypochondriacal inclusions (in 23.4% of cases of respondents); 3) maladaptive reactions with an anxious component were observed in 28.6% of cases. Conclusion. It was shown that the suicidal behavior of soldiers depended on many external and internal risk factors. We showed protective factors against autoregressive and suicidal behavior.
