 The Unification Church, or the Unificationism, also known as HAS-UWC (Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity) or ‘Moonies’ (the term deemed now as disrespectful) but originating from the name of the founder Sun Myung Moon, who set up this Christian religious movement in Northern Korea in 1954 has approximately 3 million followers worldwide. Its existence and popularity are a global phenomenon, interesting not only for sociologists of religion but for politicians, philosophers and people of faith. The impact of this movement and the two-way social change remain a rare subject of study and this paper aims to fill the gaps and to discuss contemporary situation in regards to its followers.

This causes, what houses from lunar timber are a most ecological approach to the construction of timber houses, are first of all the utilization of the property of timber which properly cut, dried up and prepared, does not need chemistry, to give the high comfort of used and suitable microclimate in interiors.

Przedmiotem mojego zainteresowania jest przedstawienie najważniejszych uwarunkowań i implikacji charakteryzujących relacje chińsko- -południowokoreańskie za rządów Xi Jinpinga na płaszczyźnie politycznej i ekonomicznej. Celem moich rozważań będzie opisanie aktualnego stanu rzeczy we wzajemnych stosunkach oraz próba przeanalizowania, jak relacje obu podmiotów będą wpływać na konfigurację międzynarodową systemu bezpieczeństwa na terenie Azji Wschodniej. Na wstępie niniejszego studium prześledzę historię wzajemnych relacji za czasów zimnej wojny i proces normalizacji stosunków. Następnie przeanalizuję kontakty na linii Chiny–Republika Korei od 2013 r. i objęcia przez Xi Jinpinga oraz Parka Geun-hye sterów władzy w swoich krajach, skupiając się na najistotniejszym wówczas dla obustronnych związków problemie programu nuklearnego Korei Północnej. Niezwykle ważnym zagadnieniem w niniejszym tekście jest poruszenie kwestii zainstalowania na terenie Korei Południowej amerykańskiego systemu przeciwrakietowego THAAD w lipcu 2016 r., co doprowadziło do pogorszenia się relacji między Chinami a Republiką Korei, gdyż chiński rząd potraktował ten krok jako zagrożenia dla bezpieczeństwa ChRL. Istotnym punktem moich rozważań będzie także znaczenie rywalizacji amerykańsko-chińskiej dla kontaktów między rządami obu omawianych w tekście krajów azjatyckich. W dalszej części opisuję kontakty Pekin–Seul po wybuchu epidemii koronawirusa na przełomie 2019 i 2020 r. Dodatkowo poruszam także problem powiązań ekonomicznych obu państw. W podsumowaniu chciałbym odpowiedzieć na pytanie, czy w przyszłości należy spodziewać się intensyfikacji stosunków Pekin–Seul. Zamierzam stwierdzić, jak przybierająca na sile rywalizacja na linii Stany Zjednoczone–Chiny może przyczynić się do modyfikacji priorytetów dyplomacji południowokoreańskiej.
The subject of my interest is the presentation of the most important determinants and implications that characterize Sino-South Korean relations under Xi Jinping. The aim of my considerations will be to describe the current state of affairs in mutual relations and an attempt to analyse how the relations of both entities will affect the international configuration of the security system in East Asia. At the beginning of this study, I follow the history of mutual relations during the Cold War and the process of normalization of relations. Then I analyse the contacts between China and the Republic of Korea since 2013 and the assumption of power by Xi Jinping and Park Geun-hye in their respective countries, focusing on the problem of the North Korean nuclear program, which was most important at that time for bilateral unions. An extremely important issue mentioned in this text mention is the installation of the United States system THAAD in July 2016, which caused deterioration of relations between China and the Republic of Korea, because the Chinese government treated this step as a threat to the security of the PRC. An important point in my considerations will also be the problem of USChinese rivalry in contacts between the governments of the two Asian countries discussed in the text. Later, I describe the contacts between Beijing and Seoul after the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic at the turn 2020. In addition, I also mention the problem of economic ties between the two countries. In conclusion, I would like to answer the question of whether Beijing-Seoul relations should be intensified in the future. I am going to conclude how the escalating US-China rivalry could contribute to modifying the priorities of South Korean diplomacy.

Opis:
Extracting raw materials from extraterrestrial sources is a prerequisite for the expansion of our civilization into space. It will be necessary to acquire there practically all commonly used elements – including lithium. The most valuable source of this element currently appears to be lunar soil and rocks, especially K-rich rocks and breccias (>10 ppm of Li). Among the meteorites, the highest content of lithium is characterized by lunar mare basalts and gabbro, eucrites, Martian polymict breccia, nakhlites, howardites (>5 ppm), shergottites, chassignites, lunar anorthosites breccias, mesosiderites, ureilites (>2.5 ppm), diogenites, LL, angrites, H (>2 ppm), L, CM, CO, CV, EH, CI (>1.5 ppm), brachinites, aubrites, EL, CR (>1 ppm), CK and main-group pallasites (<1 ppm). This means that a potential extraterrestrial source of lithium can be the Moon, Mars, and the 4 Vesta minor planet considered as the probable parent body of HED meteorites.

The influence of the moon on human behavior has been featured in many, not only scientific publications. This paper tests the hypothesis that the one-session rates of return of index WIG20 (Warsaw Stock Exchange) in the period of 14.04.1994–30.06.2015, mWIG40 in the period 31.12.1997–30.06.2015 and sWIG80 in the period of 29.12.1994–30.06.2015, calculated for each of the following phases: full moon, new moon, first and third quarter, are statistically higher than zero (at the significance level of 95%) for WIG20 and sWIG20 when the moon was in the new phase and also for sWIG80 when the moon was in the full phase. In the second, third and the fourth part were tested null hypothesis regarding equality of one session average rates of return in two populations, for analyzed moon phases and when the moon phases falls on a specified day of the week or in the specified months. In case of testing equality of average rates of return in two populations, the outcomes proved that the moon phases are irrelevant for one session average rates of return in two analyzed populations, but in case regarding equality of one-session average rates of return, computed for each day of the week, the result permit to reject the null hypothesis for full moon falling on Fridays (sWIG80) and for 1st quarter falling on Tuesdays (WIG20 and mWIG40). The average rates of return of the Fridays session for sWIG80 (full moon) resulted to be statistically higher than zero, while for Tuesday sessions calculated for WIG20 and mWIG40 (1st quarter) – negative. Calculations of one-session average rates of return, regarding moon phases falling in a specified month, displayed that they are statistically higher than zero for: mWIG40 in March (full moon), WIG20 in June and mWIG40 in July (for indices both – moon in the first quarter phase) and lower than zero for: WIG20 and mWIG40 for full moon sessions in June, mWIG40 in July (new moon), WIG20 for November and sWIG80 for October sessions (for both indices – moon in the first quarter phase). Thus, the influence of moon phases on investors operating on the Warsaw Stock Exchange has been proved.
Wpływ księżyca na ludzkie oddziaływania został przedstawiony w wielu publikacjach naukowych. W artykule tym zweryfikowana została hipoteza statystyczna, że średnia jednosesyjna stopa zwrotu następujących indeksów giełdowych (w nawiasie podany został okres analityczny): WIG20 (14.04.1994–30.06.2015), mWIG40 (31.12.1998–30.06.2015) i sWIG80 (29.12.1994–30.062015) obliczona w czasie sesji, kiedy księżyc znajdował się w jednej z czterech faz (nów, 1. kwadra, pełnia i 3. kwadra) jest statystycznie różna od zera (dla α = 0,05). W drugiej, trzeciej i czwartej części artykułu testowana była hipoteza równości średnich dziennych stóp zwrotu w dwu populacjach, wtedy gdy księżyc znajdował się w jednej ze swoich faz z uwzględnieniem sytuacji, kiedy faza księżyca przypadała w określonym dniu tygodnia lub określonym miesiącu. Otrzymane wyniki wskazują, że jednosesyjna średnia stopa zwrotu obliczona dla sesji, kiedy księżyc znajdował się w fazie nowiu i indeksów WIG20 i sWIG80, a także dla fazy pełni księżyca i indeksu sWIG80, okazała się być statystycznie większa od zera. Z kolei w przypadku testowania równości średniej jednosesyjnej stopy zwrotu w dwu populacjach stóp zwrotu, oddziaływanie księżyca nie zostało wykazane, jednak analiza jednosesyjnych stóp zwrotu obliczonych dla sytuacji, gdy dana faza przypadała w określonym dniu tygodnia, prowadziła do odrzucenia hipotezy zerowej w czasie pełni przypadających w piątki (sWIG80) i pierwszej kwadry wypadających we wtorki (WIG20 i mWIG40). Średnia stopa zwrotu indeksu sWIG80, obliczona dla sesji przypadających w czasie pełni okazała się być statystycznie większa od zera, w odróżnieniu do średniej stopy zwrotu indeksów WIG20 i mWIG40 skalkulowanych dla sesji przypadających w czasie pierwszej kwadry, która okazała się być statystycznie mniejsza od zera. Obliczenia różnicy jednosesyjnych średnich stóp zwrotu w dwu populacjach, przeprowadzone w sytuacji, gdy dana faza księżyca przypadała w określonym miesiącu roku, wykazały statystyczną istotność w następujących przypadkach: czerwcowych (WIG20) i marcowych (mWIG40) pełni, lipcowych nowiów (mWIG40) oraz pierwszych faz księżyca przypadających w czerwcu i listopadzie (WIG20), lipcu (mWIG40) i październiku (sWIG80). Średnia stopa zwrotu była statystycznie większa od zera dla pełni przypadających w marcu (mWIG40), pierwszych kwadr w czerwcu (WIG20) i lipcu (mWIG40), a niższa od zera dla sesji czerwcowych pełni (WIG20 i mWIG40), lipcowego nowiu (mWIG40), pierwszych kwadr w listopadzie (WIG20) i październiku (sWIG80). Tym samym udowodniony został wpływ oddziaływania księżyca na inwestorów operujących na Giełdzie Papierów Wartościowych w Warszawie.

The purpose of the article is to carry out a complex analysis of conditions and natural factors forming the hydrogeological regime as well as to integrate the existing information and groundwater monitoring data in Ivano-Frankivsk region for further creating the unified automated system to collect, process, analyze and store the monitoring observation data. The authors offer methodology, which is based on the geoinformation approach, for organizing and monitoring of the groundwater. The structure of spatial and attributive data that afford to systemize the existing schemes of the hydrogeological zoning as well as the results of long-term observations over variability of the groundwater levels and factors forming the hydrogeological regime were developed. The new approaches for improving the techniques to forecast the groundwater level with due consideration of temporal patterns for changes in water level, the Moon phases and seismic activity, are proposed. The obtained results are considered as an informational basis for reorganization of the state hydrogeological monitoring on the example of Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The Ammonites, a people living east of the Jordan River, were neighbors of the ancient Israelites. The Old Testament (1 Kings, 11,5; 2 Kings, 23,13) and probably an inscription from the citadel of Amman mention Milkom as the supreme God of the Ammonites. Most Ammonite names did not contain the name of their national god, but used a more generic divine name, ’El. We don’t know if the name: ’El refers to the Canaanite god or to a local manifestation of this deity. Ammonites also worshiped other deities (i.e. ‘Astarte, ‘Anat, Ba‘al, Hadad/’Adad, Qos, Šamas, YHWH and Yerah). A number of limestone statues and clay figurines of bearded individuals wearing an atef-crown could be Ammonite monarchs or deity (Milkom or ’El). An Ammonite sanctuary has been excavated in Ruğm el-Kursi, situated north-west of Amman. Excavations at this site unearthed a rectangular building measuring 18,70 x 12,60 m. The orientation of the temple is east-west, with the entrance facing east. The Temple of Ruğm el-Kursi is an important example of religious architecture in the Levant. It’s not just about the first Iron Age monumental temple in Ammon and in Jordan, but it is also the first excavated monumental sanctuary of the moon god in the Levant. The two reliefs on the door jambs depicted the full moon within the crescent and confirm that the moon god was worshiped there. Because of the reliefs the sanctuary has been dated to Iron Age II. The temple of Ruğm el-Kursi was divided into two or in three rooms and belongs to the „Langraum” temple type, which is known in the region since the middle of the 3rd mill. BC.

The article represents the influence of lunar phases on parameters of constructional timber and its advantages in respect of building. All from these values were supported with technical research. They make the beginning of wider research, targeting finding of material to answering Austrian “lunar timber” in Poland.

Obrazy nieba i ciał niebieskich – słońca, księżyca, gwiazd – odgrywają w twórczości mało zbadanego ukraińskiego nowelisty lat 30. XX w. Wasyla Tkaczuka istotną rolę i są efektem wykorzystania przez pisarza zarówno pierwiastków ludowo-poetyckich, jak i tych indywidualnych, autorskich. Przede wszystkim, wizerunki nieba, słońca, księżyca i gwiazd w krótkiej prozie Tkaczuka stanowią nieodłączny element krajobrazu Huculszczyzny i Pokucia, funkcjonują jako komponenty huculskiego dyskursu krajobrazowego, ale też jako część bezkresnej przestrzeni kosmicznej. Nowelista jawi się tu jako mistrz kreślenia malowniczych krajobrazów Huculszczyzny i Pokucia, gdzie się urodził i wychował. Ponadto przestrzeń niebieska w utworach Tkaczuka jest nieodłącznym pierwiastkiem życia karpackich górali, jej elementy towarzyszą bohaterom w codziennych radościach i smutkach, a zatem stanowią integralną część ich egzystencji i wierzeń. Obrazy nieba i ciał niebieskich są wreszcie czynnikiem fabułotwórczym, a więc ważnym elementem konstrukcji poszczególnych utworów. Tradycyjnie dla tego nowelisty na szczególną uwagę zasługują niezwykle oryginalne, spersonifikowane obrazy, zantropomorfizowane porównania i autorskie metafory, w skład których wchodzą analizowane wizerunki nieba, słońca, księżyca i gwiazd. Poszczególne wizerunki przestrzeni niebieskiej w utworach Tkaczuka wpisują się, obok analizowanych wcześniej obrazów (konceptów) „cziczki”, „wiatru” i „burzy”, w niezwykle oryginalną tradycję dyskursu nowelistycznego słusznie określanego jeszcze przez współczesnych Tkaczukowi krytyków mianem poezji w prozie. Są również składnikami konceptualnego modelu świata nowelisty, współtworzą bliską mu filozofię przyrody, potwierdzają jego głęboki szacunek, przywiązanie i niekłamaną miłość do Huculszczyzny, Pokucia i ojczystej Ukrainy.
Images of the sky and celestial bodies – sun, moon, stars – play an important role in the works of the little-explored Ukrainian writer from the 1930s, Vasyl Tkachuk. They are the result of Tkachuk’s combining both folk-poetic elements and original ones in his short stories. Above all, the images of the sky, the sun, the moon, and the stars in his texts are an integral part of the landscape of Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttia, functioning as components of the Hutsul landscape discourse but also as a part of the boundless cosmic space. The writer appears here as a master of drawing the picturesque landscapes of Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttia, where he was born and raised. In addition, the celestial space in Tkachuk’s works is an inseparable element of the lives of the Carpathian highlanders. Its elements accompany the characters in their daily joys and sorrows and thus become an integral part of their existence and beliefs. Finally, images of the sky and celestial bodies are an important factor in forming the plot and thus constitute a key element in the construction of individual writings by this Pokuttian writer. The highly original personified images, anthropomorphized comparisons, and authorial metaphors (which include the analyzed images of the sky, sun, moon, and stars) deserve special attention. Taken as a whole, the individual images of celestial space in Tkachuk’s works are part of the highly original tradition of novelistic discourse aptly described by Tkachuk’s contemporaries as “poetry in prose” (along with the concepts of “chichka”, “wind’ and “storm” analyzed earlier). In addition, the individualized images of the sky, sun, moon and stars have become an important component of Tkachuk’s conceptual model of the world. They also co-create a philosophy of nature and confirm the writer’s deep respect, attachment, and undying love for Hutsulshchyna, Pokuttia, and his native Ukraine.

Opis:
Sailor Moon, a Japanese series grounded in manga and anime, began airing translations in the West throughout the 1990s. The series provided what could be interpreted as resistance to dichotomous conceptualizations of sexuality, sex and gender. The focus of this article is the set of challenges presented by the genderqueer characters in Sailor Moon and how Westernization and English translations have worked to erase and re-write queer identities. Arguably, Sailor Moon acts as a site to play out the contextualities and complexities of sexuality, sex and gender identities. To name Sailor Moon characters in Western specific terms would be at the expense of reducing the complexity of their identities to a categorical system whose boundaries detract and limit meaning. Queer characters in Sailor Moon are not translatable into dichotomous Western thought - categories fail us and, through their enforcement, the depth of meaning and the complexities of queer identities/desires are lost in translation. Working within Western binary systems, categories and language, many of these identities appear contradictory and incoherent. Sailor Moon characters offer a re-envisioning of identities that is not limited by Western binaric thought and cannot be easily pegged within the heterosexual matrix.

The elements of symbiosis between a literary work and fable are clearly reflected in the structure of Herbert George Wells short story The Beautiful Suit that was published originally as A Moonlight Fable. The distinct allusion of the author about the title as well as the fact of two titles indicates similarity to folkloristic genre and gives posibility to perceive the story in two ways: literary work and fable. The typical semantics of folkloristic works is introduced by a number of constant formulas and motifs. They are conditioned by the function of moonlight topos that creates the opposition man – moon. The determining character of this antithesis implies the main division of the text and provides the paradigmatic sequence man – earth – mortal life versus moon – heaven – eternity that constitutes the fundamental element to model the basic relationships of the space and time structure. As well as in the sources of mythology and folklore the motif of the moon in the Wells’s short story introduces the aspect of duality of the depicted world, has an allegorical effect on the protagonist’s fate that touches the secret of existence and happiness.

Taking the subject of “victorious prayer”, author shows in detail the literary structure of the pericope Josh 10:1-27, and draws attention that the central point of the story is verse 14a: “There was no day like that before it or after it, when the Lord listened to the voice of a man”. These words, according to the author, are important hagiograph’s indication for the proper reading of the entire pericope’s message. After analyzing the main literary issue of the story, the article presents hallmarks and fruits of the “victorious prayer” of Joshua. As motivated by trust, backed by commitment and consistent with God’s plan, resulted in a deepening Joshua’s ties with the Lord, strengthen authority both of them and complete victory over a coalition of Canaanite kings. Author suggests that “the day of Joshua” described in Josh 10:1-27, later became for the biblical authors, a kind of model using to description of the “day of the Lord”. Recognizing the pericope as “praeparatio evangelica remota”, author encourages to typological interpretation of the Book of Joshua.

This article reviews selected issues related to the effects that impact phenomena exert on the lunar landscape and on the properties of the regolith covering its surface. The basic differences between terrestrial and lunar environment are presented in this paper. These differences are key to understanding the role that impacts of small bodies play in shaping the Moon’s surface. Cosmic matter reaches the surface of the atmosphereless Moon without any obstacles, colliding with it at speeds expressed in kilometers per second. The vast majority of this matter is micrometeoroids and space dust, whose impacts have only local effects. The power-law nature of the distribution of the abundance of small bodies in the Solar System as a function of their mass makes the frequency of impacts on the Moon’s surface by objects with masses of more than a kilogram very low. At the current stage of the evolution of the Solar System, the lack of endogenic processes in the lunar lithosphere makes impact phenomena and space weathering practically the only processes shaping the lunar surface.
W niniejszym artykule dokonano przeglądu wybranych zagadnień związanych z wpływem zjawisk impaktowych na krajobraz Księżyca oraz na własności regolitu pokrywającego jego powierzchnię. Przedstawiono tu podstawowe różnice występujące między środowiskiem ziemskim, a warunkami panującymi na powierzchni naszego naturalnego satelity. Różnice te są kluczowe dla zrozumienia roli, jaką uderzenia małych ciał niebieskich odgrywają dla kształtowania powierzchni Księżyca. Materia kosmiczna bez żadnych przeszkód dociera do powierzchni pozbawionego atmosfery Księżyca, zderzając się z nią z prędkościami wyrażanymi w kilometrach na sekundę. Znaczna większość tej materii to mikrometeoroidy i pył kosmiczny, których uderzenia mają jedynie lokalne skutki. Potęgowy charakter rozkładu liczebności małych ciał Układu Słonecznego w funkcji ich masy sprawia, że częstotliwość uderzeń w powierzchnię Księżyca obiektów o masach powyżej kilograma jest bardzo niska. Na obecnym etapie ewolucji Układu Słonecznego, brak endogenicznych procesów zachodzących w księżycowej litosferze sprawia, że zjawiska impaktowe i wietrzenie kosmiczne są praktycznie jedynymi procesami kształtującymi powierzchnię Księżyca.

The present article gives an overview on the development of the measurement and practical acquisition of circle section dimensions since the late 3rd millennium BC. In key points, the prerequisites and practical implementation for celestial observations over approx. 1500 years up to the 8th century BC are collected and analyzed, in terms of their logical requirements and connected archaeological findings. A comprehensible and unambiguous calculation is made for the celestial dimensions in cubits used from the 8th to the 2nd century BC, for which estimated values between 2.5 and 2.1 angular degrees have been determined since Kugler 1900 until to recently researchers. Therefore, for the first time, the exact transformation value is presented here. Not only the connections and the further development of this celestial measurement system are presented, but also its coherent adaptation up to the first definition and use of the angular unit measurement, which is still used today, around 200 BC. In addition, some data and their previous interpretation from various sources are put up for discussion, which even include the table of Chords, presented by Ptolemy in his Almagest and their use.
