Opis:: This article presents the performance analysis of a cross-platform mobile application implemented with Xamarin and two native applications for Android and iOS platforms. The results concerning the time analysis for selected activities were compared in order to determine whether cross-platform tools are worth using in mobile application development. Native applications achieved better performance, however in some cases the cross-platform approach allows for significant development time reduction without deterioration in user experience.
Artykuł przedstawia analizę wydajności mobilnej aplikacji wieloplatformowej utworzonej za pomocą technologii Xamarin oraz dwóch natywnych dla platformy Android i iOS. Wyniki dotyczące analizy czasów wykonywania wybranych czynności zostały porównane, aby odpowiedzieć na pytanie, czy warto używać rozwiązań wieloplatformowych w wytwarzaniu aplikacji mobilnych. Aplikacje natywne osiągnęły lepsze wyniki, jednakże w pewnych scenariuszach wykorzystanie technik wieloplatformowych pozwoli na znaczne oszczędności czasu, bez spadku poziomu wrażeń odbieranych przez użytkownika.

Opis:: The article presents one application from the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) group of systems, which enables the reading of parameters from the module connected to the diagnostic port in the vehicle. The developed application enables better control of engine operation and supports the driver in the field of, among others indication of currently running gear and suggestion of switching on the higher or lower gear depending on the engine parameters read. The suggestion of changing gears is shown graphically and sonically. The application is designed for mobile devices working under the control of Android operating system.

The business of making native apps for mobile devices is decreasing, crushed by a fragmented market and restrictive business practices. From the technical point of view there are two main problems. One is proliferation of operating systems. Several years ago there were only two platforms: Pocket PC and Palm OS. Now there are at least ten platforms, and a fragmentation of Java makes this situation even worse. The second prob-lem is certification. Every developer has to certify with both the OS (operating system) and each carrier and it costs too much. The problems are so serious that the mobile web, despite its many technical drawbacks, is now a better way to deliver new functionality to mobile devices. Section 2 provides the brief history of mobile hardware and software industry. In the next two section there are presented the market problems of native mobile application developers and also the customer needs which will drive a rapid rise in mobile web development, probably largely replacing the mobile applications business. All this has huge implications on mobile operators, handset companies, developers, and users. The author presents not only problems, but also opportunities and new trends. Section 4 gives the comparison of mobile software environments, native and web-based, and their attractiveness to the developers (illustrated in Fig. 1). There is presented some information on modern technologies just introduced by market leaders, especially: Microsoft's Silverlight, Adobe's AIR and the newest Linux+Qt-based platform introduced by Nokia. In Section 5 a few exam-ples of web-based applications (Figs. 2, 3, 4, 5) show new trends in which former desktop applications are replaced by the web-mobile ones.

Opis:: Ultrasonografia Dopplerowska jest jednym z najlepszych sposobów diagnozy zmian miażdżycowych oraz szczegółowej kontroli patologii zmian ścian naczyń krwionośnych. Wykonanie badania wymaga szeregu czynności wykonywanych współbieżnie, m.in. analizy obrazów USG oraz ręcznego sporządzania notatek na potrzeby podsumowania badania. Analiza problemu wykazała, że przebieg badań ultrasonograficznych może zostać częściowo zautomatyzowany przez dedykowane oprogramowanie, co przedstawia niniejszy artykuł.
Doppler ultrasonography is one of the best ways of diagnosing the atherosclerosis and inspecting the details of the vessel wall pathology. Carrying out the examination requires plenty of activities that have to be done simultaneously, i.a. analysing the USG images and manually taking notes to the examination report. The analysis of the problem enables stating that the Doppler ultrasound examination can be partially automated with the aid of dedicated software system, what is the point of the article.

Opis:: Fuel cells (FCs) are electrochemical devices, which produce electricity (and sometimes heat) without any intermediate step. These units are known for their high total and electrical efficiency, low emission levels, silent operations and scalability. There are several types of fuel cells, which operate at different temperatures, require different fuels and levels of servicing. Some of FC types can be also used for mobile applications - e.g. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). Auxiliary Power Units (APU) or main power source is for FC vehicles. Recently, there has been a growing interest in research on mobile applications of fuel cells, both for civilian and military purposes. Several commercial companies focusing on fuel cells have been established, performing their R&D activities in their niches. In addition, there are special dedicated research funds for fuel cell and hydrogen research in countries such as USA, China, Japan, France and Germany. Moreover, the European Commission devotes funds for the fuel cell activities through a public-private partnership. This trend is predicted to continue in coming years, as fuel cells become smaller, easier and cheaper to operate and manufacture. This paper focuses on the current "state of the art" in fuel cell research, both commercial and governmental/military. In addition, some examples of mobile applications, focusing on fuel cell vehicles, spacecrafts and UAVs are presented, together with a predicted outcome for following years.

Opis:: This paper presents the design, implementation and evaluation of a new smartphone application that is capable of real-time object detection using both stationary and moving cameras for embedded systems, particularly, the Android smartphone platform. A new object detection approach, Optical ORB, is presented which is capable of real-time performance at high definition resolutions on a smartphone. In addition, the developed smartphone application has the ability to connect to a remote server and wirelessly send image frames when moving objects appear in the camera’s field of view; thus, allowing the human operator to only view video frames that are of interest. Evaluation experiments show a capability of achieving real-time performance for high definition (HD) resolution video.

Opis:: The airline industry constitutes a challenge for marketing specialists due to high dynamics of provision of information. Airlines strive to communicate more and more effectively with the passenger. The specific character of the branch also constitutes a challenge for mobile application developers, who update them more often than applications of companies from other branches. The goal of this article will be discussing the processes of building relations, efficient communication with clients on the market of passenger airline services using mobile applications. Up till now this problem hasn’t been the subject of both literature studies and empirical research. Source materials for the work will be available literature on the subject, own analyses based on secondary sources, as well as empirical studies conducted among passengers.
Branża lotnicza stanowi wyzwanie dla specjalistów od marketingu ze względu na dużą dynamikę podawania informacji. Linie lotnicze dążą do coraz bardziej efektywnej komunikacji z pasażerem. Specyfika tej branży stanowi również wyzwanie dla deweloperów aplikacji mobilnych, którzy aktualizują je częściej niż aplikacje firm z innych branż. Celem artykułu będzie omówienie procesów budowania relacji, skutecznej komunikacji z klientem na rynku pasażerskich usług lotniczych przy wykorzystaniu aplikacji mobilnych. Problem ten nie stanowił do tej pory przedmiotu zarówno studiów literaturowych jak i badań empirycznych. Materiałami źródłowymi opracowania będą dostępna literatura przedmiotu, własne analizy oparte na źródłach wtórnych, a także badania empiryczne realizowane wśród pasażerów.

Opis:: Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia możliwości zastosowania aplikacji mobilnych dla urządzeń przenośnych w lotnictwie ogólnym (General Aviation). Pierwsza część publikacji stanowi ogólne przybliżenie tematu urządzeń typu PED (Portable Electronic Device) wykorzystywanych na pokładach współczesnych samolotów. Część druga dotyczy prezentacji własnego projektu realizowanego w ramach inżynierskiej pracy dyplomowej jednego z autorów. Projekt ten zakłada stworzenie aplikacji wspomagającej pilota podczas wykonywania lotów VFR (Visual Flight Rules) według przepisów z widocznością ziemi. Do głównych jej funkcji należy detekcja fazy lotu, zapis wybranych parametrów oraz automatyzacja niektórych czynności w oparciu o interakcję użytkownika i dane pochodzące z sensorów urządzenia. Przybliżona zostanie charakterystyka problematyki, przyjęte założenia oraz osiągnięte rezultaty. Trzecia część zawiera analizę wyników badań przeprowadzonych w warunkach rzeczywistego lotu na samolocie Socata TB-9 Tampico, będącego własnością Ośrodka Kształcenia Lotniczego Politechniki Rzeszowskiej. Wykonane próby obejmowały rejestrację podstawowych parametrów lotu, tj. pozycji geograficznej, wysokości, prędkości, szacowanej dokładności pomiaru, itp. Uzyskany materiał stanowił podstawę do udoskonalenia algorytmów, kalibracji oraz wyznaczenia wymaganych współczynników. Dodatkowo przebieg każdego lotu zobrazowany został w programie Google Earth poprzez wyznaczenie trójwymiarowej trajektorii. Badania wykorzystane mogą zostać do określenia funkcjonalności urządzeń przenośnych oraz stanowić inspirację dla dalszych kierunków rozwoju.
This article presents the possibilities of use of mobile applications designed for mobile devices in general aviation. The first part of the article presents the portable electronic devices used on board of modern aircrafts. The second part of the article focuses on the presentation own project realised under the diploma’s thesis research. This project has been intended to develop the pilot-aided application during VFR flights The main functions of application are sensor-driven detection of the current phase of flight, recording the selected parameters and automatization selected activities based on the user interaction and data of instrument sensors. The characteristic of the problem, assumptions, and results were discussed. The third section describes the outcome of research conducted in real flight conditions on Socata TB-9 Tampico aircraft at Aviation Training Centre of Rzeszow University of Technology. The substantial parameters of flight, such as position, altitude, ground speed and estimated accuracy of measurement have been registered. The collected data are the base in order to improve algorithms, calibration, and evaluation of required coefficients. Additionally, the flight data has been visualised in Google Earth program by establishing a 3D fight path trajectory. This research can be used for determination of functionality of mobile devices, and to inspire the further research development.

Opis:: Celem pracy było stworzenie aplikacji mobilnej współpracującej z Raspberry Pi. Ma ona ułatwić opiekę nad dzieckiem, poprzez podgląd kamery i powiadomienia w razie hałasu w pokoju dziecka. System opiera sięo bezprzewodową komunikacjęWiFi, co pozwala na dostęp do danych z urządzenia w całym obszarze działania sieci lokalnej. Dane z urządzenia oraz baza użytkowników są przechowywane na serwerze Apache w bazie danych MySQL. Wykorzystano czujnik temperaturyi wilgotności, który pozwala na monitorowanie warunków panujących w pokoju dziecka oraz rozwój i integrację w świecie Internetu Rzeczy (ang. Internet of Things - IoT).
The aim of the work was to create a mobile application cooperating with Raspberry Pi. It is supposed to facilitate childcare by viewing the camera and notifying in case of noise. in the children's room. The mobile application was made in the Android Studio environment. The system is based on wireless Wi-Fi communication, which allows you to access data from the device in the whole area of operation of the local network. Data from the device and the user database are stored on the Apache server in the MySQL database. A temperature and humidity sensor has been used, which allows to monitor conditions in the child's room and to develop and integrate in the world of the Internet of Things (IoT).

Opis:: Artykuł prezentuje analizę wartości pulsu człowieka w sytuacji wysiłku fizycznego oraz odpoczynku z podziałem na dwie grupy wiekowe oraz płeć. Pomiary wykonano przy użyciu aplikacji mobilnej oraz ciśnieniomierza nadgarstkowego. Badano dokładność pomiaru telefonem względem ciśnieniomierza oraz istotność statystyczną różnic pomiędzy grupami wiekowymi, płcią oraz wykonywaną czynnością. Niedokładność pomiarowa waha się od 4 do 12 %. Aplikacja mobilna dokładnej odwzorowuje puls podczas odpoczynku.
The paper presents the analysis of the human heartbeat value under the physical exercise and rest condition. The test group was divided into four groups regarding age and sex. Measurements were performed using a mobile application and a blood pressure monitor. The phone's accuracy with respect to the blood pressure gauge was measured and the statistical significance of differences between age groups, sex and activity was also computed. Measurement inaccuracy varies from 4 to 12%. The mobile application accurately reproduces the pulse during rest.

Opis:: Artykuł opisuje podstawowe zagadnienia sieciowe, modele warstwowe, protokoły internetowe, główne komponenty oraz integracje miedzy aplikacjami Spektrum oraz Performance Management firmy CA. Głównym celem badania było ukazanie mechanizmu, w jaki sposób Spectrum monitoruje konkretne zdarzenie zwiększenia zużycia pamięci RAM na urządzeniu Router 1, a następnie stworzenie raportu w aplikacji Performance Management w celu ukazania tego zdarzenia na wykresie. Skupiłem się na ukazaniu jak ważny jest monitoring urządzeń sieciowych w obecnym świecie informatyki, aby móc w porę rozwiązać zdarzenie, które potencjalnie może wskazywać usterkę na urządzeniu i przeciwdziałać występowaniu takich problemów w przyszłości.
The article describes basic network issues, layered models, Internet protocols, main components and integrations between Spectrum and Performance Management applications of CA. The main aim of the study was to show how Spectrum monitors a specific event of increased RAM consumption on Router 1 device, and then to create a report in the Performance Management application to show this event on a graph. I focused on showing how important it is to monitor network devices in the current IT world in order to be able to solve in ti- me an event that potentially indicates a malfunction on the device and counteract the occurrence of such problems in the future.

Opis:: Tworzenie użytecznych i dostępnych interfejsów użytkowników na urządzenia mobilne nie jest zadaniem łatwym. Z jednej strony ze względu na małe doświadczenie projektantów w tej dziedzinie – aplikacje mobilne i mobilne witryny internetowe są nowym trendem na rynku oprogramowania. Z drugiej strony dziedzina oprogramowania mobilnego jest w stosunkowo wczesnym stadium rozwoju. Urządzenia mobilne udostępniają nowe możliwości interakcji, wprowadzają dużą różnorodność rozdzielczości oraz zastosowań, dlatego konieczne są dodatkowe badania oraz doświadczenia, aby opracować metody badania użyteczności i dostępności dostosowane do interfejsu urządzeń mobilnych.
The usage of mobile devices to access information and communication continues to grow. The software designer and developers, who are creating a new mobile application or rebuilding an existing website, have to take into account not only the needs and requirements of users, but also the limitations of the interaction between the user and the application interface resulting from the technologies, the mobile device resolution or type and the environment in which the device will be used. Therefore, the developing of high-quality mobile applications is difficult, as well as expensive. The paper presents usability of mobile software interface as one of the most important factor of software quality. It discusses the classification of usability testing methods, their place in the software development process. Moreover, the most common usability testing methods, such as prototyping, heuristic analysis, cognitive walkthrough and usability tests, are described and evaluated. In addition, the paper addresses the issue of accessibility of user interface for people with disabilities such as blindness or visual impairment. It reports existing accessibility standards, best practices and testing methods at different stages of interface development.
