Subject and purpose of work: This paper explores whether herding behavior is formed according to the type of investor, how long the transmission of herding behavior occurs, and identifies how big the reaction of herding behavior is and how the flow of herding behavior connects between investors. Materials and methods: The population in this study are companies whose shares are listed in the LQ45 index list for the period January 2015 to December 2017 on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. To find out further about herding behavior, a VAR test will be conducted in this study. Results: The results of herding behavior analysis, based on the type of investor on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, show that there is herding behavior in each type of similar investor. Moreover, there is a certain period for the spread of herding behavior by type of shareholder. Conclusions: The most influential variables on the four types of successive investors are domestic institutional investors, individual foreigners, domestic individuals, and foreign institutions. The four types of investors respond differently to herding behavior.

Purpose: Interest in older consumers as the subject of marketing strategy is growing in Western countries (Gunter, 1998). However, in Poland, this group is still neglected by marketers and perceived in stereotypical way, and its marketing potential is underestimated. The main goal of this research was to provide understanding of the contemporary older Polish population and especially older Polish consumers, including their values, needs, attitudes, opinions and behaviors. Methodology: In order to investigate the Polish “grey market,” we conducted survey research (CAPI) based on a representative quota – a random nationwide sample of n=1500 participants above 55 years old. Additionally, we also conducted qualitative research – 18 individual in-depth interviews (IDIs) at homes of consumers (ethnographic interviews). Findings: Based on the factor and cluster analysis (Weinstein, 1994) from the quantitative survey, 5 segments of older Polish consumers were selected: Fulfilled Optimists (14% of population), Bored with Life (17%), Passive Materialists (22%), Family-oriented Non-materialists (22%), and Excluded Traditionalists (25%). Segments differed in values, lifestyles, attitudes toward life, family, work and general life satisfaction. As a consequence of those psychological differences, segments differed in consumer behaviour, preferences and perception of marketing communication (advertising). Originality/Value: Our analysis shows that key areas, which determine particular consumer behaviour in each segment are – contrary to common belief – not demographic characteristics, but mainly psychological aspects (such as attitude to life, optimism, attitude to money, open-mindedness and general curiosity).

Opis:
While gender-based differences in consumer behavior have been previously investigated within the context of gender-neutral or unisex retailers, men’s behavior in women’s retailers remains largely unexplored. Furthermore, most studies frame the retail environment as a passive platform through which essential gender differences yield setting-specific bifurcated behavior, and do not address the role the commercial establishment and men’s shopping habits play in gender identity formation and maintenance. To address this gap, we analyzed men’s behavior in women’s retailers using interactionist and social constructionist theories of sex/gender. Data were collected through non-participatory observation at a series of large, enclosed shopping malls in South-Western Ontario, Canada and analyzed thematically. We found that men tend to actively avoid women’s retailers or commercial spaces that connote femininity, while those who enter said spaces display passivity, aloofness, or reticence. We suggest the dominant cultural milieu that constitute hegemonic masculinity- disaffiliation with femininity, an accentuation of heterosexuality, and a prioritization of homosocial engagement-nform the dialectical relationship between individual and institutional gender practice that manifests through consumption.

Family enterprise (FE)
Polish market
Opis:
Aim/purpose – The main aim of the paper is to fill in the gap in the existing literature as well as to propose a set of specific family enterprises’ (FE) attributes concerning certain socioeconomic conditions in Poland. The objectives of the article are interrelated with two theses. H1 assumes that in current literature there is a little attention paid to the demand side of the market, particularly to the individual consumers (including young buyers) and their attitudes toward FEs. H2 indicates that the perception of Polish FEs changes considerably reflecting the international trends. Design/methodology/approach – The authors studied a consolidated profound review of recent international and Polish publications on FEs. The expert interviews and in-depth individual interviews were conducted. Both empirical studies brought a preliminary insight into overall consumer perception of the FEs in Poland. Findings – For several years Polish buyers have been dynamically changing their mindset, breaking the stereotype of FEs’ owners. Nowadays, tradition and quality are two attributes which are associated closely with Polish FEs. Customers indicate that FEs are trustworthy, responsible, solid and dependable. They also highlight the ethnocentric attitude toward these companies – Polishness. All these attributes are evidently appreciated. FEs are correlated with traditional industries and products, especially with groceries, cosmetics, clothes, shoes, jewelry, furniture, windows and doors. Research implications/limitations – The identity of FEs is not always communicated properly. Consumers often cannot ascertain a provenance of their offer as many FEs do not emphasize their family identity. Additionally, on the Polish market, consumers are occasionally misled considering the family ownership of a business. Originality/value/contribution – The studies indicate a set of attributes typical of Polish FEs underpinning their strong identity which should be explicitly conveyed to the public, with special regard to young consumers.

Opis:
Theoretical background: Games are used in various fields beyond pure entertainment: education, health services or human resources. They are also considered one of the most rapidly growing trends in marketing. Using gamifiation to engage the consumer and increase his loyalty is commonly used in nearly all product categories. Playing games is fun and companies use it to attract and involve the consumers in their brands’ activities. In addition, the role of gamification in market research is increasing. It helps to understand consumer behaviour by inducing a more natural mood in the survey process, and increasing engagement and the cognitive accessibility of often hidden information. The effectiveness of gamification requires systematic verifiation in the experimental research. Researchers indicate the positive effect of gamified research on respondents’ engagement and efficiency.Purpose of the article: This article presents the current state of knowledge in the field of gamification in market research. Its main purpose is to share the author’s own research results which are the replication of former results showing the positive effects of gamified tasks used in surveys.Research methods: An experiment was conducted to verify the hypotheses regarding the increased effectiveness of gamified tasks compared to the regular approach as well as to the well-known projective techniques. A total of 132 participants were split into three groups: control, experimental 1 (projective techniques or simple gamification – addition of extra rules to regular questions) and experimental 2 (more complex, narrative and contextual tasks based on gamification).Main findings: The hypothesis was confirmed and the former effects were replicated – gamified tasks increase the respondents’ effectiveness compared to the standard tasks and also compared to the use of the well-known projective techniques.

Social factors affecting consumer decisions during purchasing furniture in Poland. The aim of this study was to analyse social factors affecting consumer decisions during purchasing furniture in Poland. Currently, it is very important to understand purchasing behaviour for the purpose of developing marketing strategy for better understanding of customer needs. The situation on Polish furniture market is dynamically changing and there is a need to determine how customers make decisions. In order to find those factors a survey of 1272 respondents was carried out. Survey was conducted during March to May 2022 in Śląskie Voivodeship. The questions asked were focused to areas such as: product quality, comfort of furniture use, design and costs. Obtained results were compared and significant correlation was observe between demographic and economic factors and purchasing decisions among respondents.

Opis:
According to literature, herding can be observed not only within single stock market, but also on international level. Poland has entrance to Euro Zone in perspective, so especially interesting is answer to the question whether herding is present on the stock markets of candidate countries to Euro Zone? Moreover, whether this tendency will be more noticeable in periods of higher volatility than during the periods of relative market stability, as suggested by psychological theories. To find the measure of herd tendency we can refer both to neoclassical and behavioral theories. Basing on models grounded in rationality assumption, there is a need to assume informative efficiency of markets. Thus, it can be expected that aggregated changes in stock markets should be reflected in the process of prices formation. Behavioral literature pointed that if tendency of herding is present on international level, it can be assumed that markets ‘in average’ will behave in the similar way. Following this idea the size of deviation of the given series from the ‘average’ can be taken as the measure of herding activity in aggregated market. Methodology created by Christie, Huang and Chang, Cheng, Khoran will be used as a starting point for the consideration of this problem. To propose more perfect measure of herding, in the paper this approach will be developed by using alternative methodology for average and measure of deviations construction. Those improvements will cause that, theoretical models will come closer to reality and will take into account both sociological and behavioral tendencies present in investors activity.

Research background: Research and measurement of sentiments, and the integration of methods for sentiment analysis in forecasting models or trading strategies for financial markets are gaining increasing attention at present. The theories that claim it is difficult to predict the individual investor's decision also claim that individual investors cause market instability due to their irrationality. The existing instability increases the need for scientific research.   Purpose of the article: This paper is dedicated to establishing a link between the individual investors' behavior, which is expressed as sentiments, and the market dynamic, and is evaluated in the stock market. This article hypothesizes that the dynamics in the market is unequivocally related to the individual investor's sentiments, and that this relationship occurs when the sentiments are expressed strongly and are unlimited. Methods: The research was carried out invoking the method of Evolino RNN-based prediction model. The data for the research from AAII (American Association of Individual Investors), an investor sentiment survey, were used. Stock indices and sentiments are forecasted separately before being combined as a single composition of distributions. Findings & Value added: The novelty of this paper is the prediction of sentiments of individual investors using an Evolino RNN-based prediction model. The results of this paper should be seen not only as the prediction of the connection and composition of investors' sentiments and stock indices, but also as the research of the dynamic of individual investors' sentiments and indices.

The aim of the paper is to discuss selected innovations created by food companies in response to consumer needs on the basis of secondary sources of information published in the years 2000-2017. As a result of the conducted studies, it was observed that modern consumers have busy lifestyles and are increasingly environment and health conscious. Therefore, they look for alternatives that will guarantee comfort, save time and help improve their health. In addition, more and more attention is focused on the emotions which accompany consumption. Therefore, in order to remain competitive, food industry companies are forced to study the market and implement innovative solutions adjusted to the preferences of consumers, such as convenience foods, functional foods, and special catering services.

Opis:
This paper encourages the use of a computational model of Collective Intelligence as a major (meta-level) tool to analyze and predict behavior of socio-economical systems like free (or quasi-free) markets are. Researchers are aware, that economics is a study of human behavior, but lack of a proper formal tool has shifted research in economics into the language of money, production, consumption, etc. From an economic point of view, when analyzing free (quasi-free) markets, more important is group behavior than individual behavior because they result in changes of market indexes. Group behavior leads in specific cases to the emergence of "group intelligence" with the most famous case named "A. Smith invisible hand of market". A computational model of Collective Intelligence allows for the formal extraction of the "system of inference processes" which run in an unconscious way in socio-economic structures. The construction of a proper formal and simulation model of such Collective Intelligence inferences allows us to take an attempt to predict outcomes in terms of economical results. The paper will present a formal basis, methodology of constructing Collective Intelligence systems for given socio-economic structures.

Opis:
The purpose of the article is to specify behavior considered to be disadvantageous for achieving sustainable consumption by consumers. Sustainable consumption, in economics usually derived from the consumer usefulness theory, is, on the one hand, inseparably linked to the effectiveness of a food supply chain, and on the other, a phenomenon significantly less identifiable and much more difficult to verify. In research, factual material gained through a personal interview survey, conducted in the Greater Poland Voivodship was used. Respondents were chosen with the use of quota and purposive sampling. It was found that consumers are able to see some behavior that are unfavorable for achieving sustainable consumption. The average level of unfavorable behavior (2.25) proves that consumers see such behavior with a relatively low level of disadvantages for achieving sustainable food consumption (in the economic, ecologic and social aspect). Consumers see unfavorable behavior for achieving sustainable consumption as behavior of a low level of disadvantages, including behavior stemming from the cost of moving from a previous model to a sustainable model, which demands spending more time on planning and shopping and creates a need to control personal behavior in terms of shopping logistics, i.e. planning, organizing, storing, buying and consuming products, as well as waste disposal. A very low level disadvantage of achieving sustainable food consumption is connected, according to consumers, with some behavior demanding self-control and self-discipline (e.g. avoiding excessive, disadvantageous consumption), engagement in the life of the local society and spending more time on looking for local products (in order to exchange, borrow, share and foster the community). Information concerning behavior unfavorable for achieving sustainable food consumption can be used for planning and implementing actions aimed at disseminating the idea and increasing consumer awareness.
Celem artykuły jest określenie zachowań, które są postrzegane jako niekorzystne dla równoważenia konsumpcji żywności przez konsumentów. Zrównoważona konsumpcja, w ekonomii najczęściej wyprowadzana z teorii użyteczności konsumenta, z jednej strony, jest zjawiskiem nierozerwalnie związanym z efektywnością łańcucha dostaw żywności, a z drugiej – zjawiskiem znacznie mniej rozpoznawalnym i trudnym do weryfikacji.

This article presents a methodology for forecasting the expected sales of innovative tourism products in the domestic market. The principles of the product life cycle concept and consumer behavior theory are taken as starting points for calculating the sales volumes of an innovative product as well as the rate of its penetration into the market. A method of measuring the level of consumer commitment to a travel agency and its offerings is posited, and the relationship between the structure of the target market and market activity in purchasing tourist products is demonstrated. Deep market segmentation is applied to take into account the behavioral peculiarities of individual subsegments (Loyalists Market, Sympathizers Market, Qualified Market, Finders Market, Serviced Market, Possible Market, Potential Consumers Market, Perspective Market). Formulas are proposed for calculating the volume of each of the identified markets. An improved and adapted model for the tourist market (by E. Rogers and F. Bass) is used to calculate the diffusion rates of domestic tourist products. This methodology of forecasting the expected sales of innovative tourism products in the domestic market is empirically confirmed based on data on the domestic tourism market in the region of Vinnytsiya, Ukraine.

W drugiej połowie 2021 roku w USA powstało nowe zjawisko zwane Quiet Quitting (QQ) dotyczące nastawienia do pracy.
