Opis:
This paper compares, the mechanical properties of welded joints 6061 T6 and 5083 O aluminium alloys obtained using friction stir welding (FSW) at four rotation speeds namely 450,560,710 and 900 rpm and that by conventional fusion welding. FSW welds were carried out on a milling machine. The performance of FSW and Fusion welded joints were identified using tensile test, hardness test and microstructure. The properties of FSW and fusion welded processes were also compared with each other to understand the advantages and disadvantages of these processes for welding applications for Al alloys. It was seen that the tensile strength obtained with FSW was higher as compared to conventional fusion welding process. The width of the heat affected zone of FSW was narrower than Fusion welded joints. The results showed that FSW improved the mechanical properties of welded joints.

The paper presents the characteristics of innovative technology of micro-jet cooling in MIG welding (according to PN-EN ISO 4063:2009). Presented results received at different jet hole geometry and various coolant pressure. This technology allows get, with appropriately selected parameters of cooling increased ferrite AF content in weld metal, up to 14% for standard MIG technology. This structure proves toughness, especially at temperature -40 degree Celsjus.
W pracy scharakteryzowano innowacyjną technologię chłodzenia mikrojetowego podczas spawania metoda MIG (zgodnie z norma PN-EN ISO 4063:2009). Przedstawiono wyniki badań uzyskanych przy różnych ustawieniach geometrycznych otworów chłodzących oraz różnym ciśnieniu medium chłodzącego. Zastosowanie tej technologii pozwala uzyskać, przy odpowiednio dobranych parametrach chłodzenia większą zawartość ferrytu AF w stopiwie, do 14% w odniesieniu do standardowej technologii MIG. Ma to wpływ na udarność, szczególnie przy temperaturze -40 stopni Celsjusza.

The article presents the research results on the mechanical properties of aluminum alloy 7020 and its MIG welded joints. For comparison alloy 5083 - the most currently used in shipbuilding alloy was chosen as well as 5059 -the new high-strength alloy. Besides the native material alloys there were investigated their joints welded by MIG -the same method as alloy 7020. Welding parameters used for the connection of the sheets made of 7020, 5083 and 5059 alloys were presented. Metallographic analysis showed the correct construction of structural bonded joints. The arc welding method - MIG is the most common method of joining aluminum alloys used in shipbuilding. It replaces the TIG method of providing equally high quality of joints with a much higher performance. The research was carried out using a static tensile test in accordance with the requirements of the Polish Standard PN-EN 10002:2004. Flat samples cut perpendicular to the direction of rolling were used. The research was conducted at the temperature of + 20 centigrade. The 7020 alloy has higher strength properties then alloys: 5083 and 5059. The yield stress is higher by 14.8% compared to 5083 alloy, and by 11.7% compared to the alloy 5059. Plastic properties of an alloy 7020 are the lowest, but with reserves meet the requirements of classification societies. The joints welded by MIG of 7020 alloy have higher strength properties then joints of alloys: 5083 and 5059. Plastic properties of alloy 7020 compared to 5083 alloy are smaller and at the same level as the connector alloy 5059.

Using the pad welding technique it is possible to regenerate machine parts or improve surface properties such as abrasion, corrosion and aging resistance. To ensure optimum processing conditions and economic efforts should be made, while providing a high deposition efficiency for the small amount of metal in the pad weld substrate. The pad welding process for the test subject should be carried out by preheating to evaporate the moisture and reduce the porosity of the weld. This treatment is required depending on the carbon equivalent. The article presents the results of corrosion tests of multi-groove pads made with the MIG method on a steel substrate. The samples were made of C45E steel. The additional material was a wire made of stainless steel with the factory name CASTOMAG 4554S. The results of previously performed tests allowed determining the optimal process parameters at which we obtain the smallest share of the base material in the padding. Steel samples were prepared and preheated to 300ºC. The hardfacing process was carried out with constant parameters, i.e. current intensity, arc voltage, surfacing speed). Two protective gases were used to apply the additional material: CO2 and argon. The samples were subjected to corrosion tests in two environments (3.5% sodium chloride solution and 0.001 sulfuric acid solution). The assessment of corrosive properties was made on the basis of constant current measurements (potentiodynamic method). The influence of shielding gas on corrosion properties was demonstrated based on the tests.
