We describe a part of the lattice of subvarieties of left distributive left idempotent groupoids (i.e. those satisfying the identities x(yz) ≈ (xy)(xz) and (xx)y ≈ xy) modulo the lattice of subvarieties of left distributive idempotent groupoids. A free groupoid in a subvariety of LDLI groupoids satisfying an identity xⁿ ≈ x decomposes as the direct product of its largest idempotent factor and a cycle. Some properties of subdirectly ireducible LDLI groupoids are found.

Let S = {a,b,c,...} and Γ = {α,β,γ,...} be two nonempty sets. S is called a Γ -semigroup if aαb ∈ S, for all α ∈ Γ and a,b ∈ S and (aαb)βc = aα(bβc), for all a,b,c ∈ S and for all α,β ∈ Γ. In this paper we study the semidirect product of a semigroup and a Γ-semigroup. We also introduce the notion of wreath product of a semigroup and a Γ-semigroup and investigate some interesting properties of this product.

This paper presents several new results on the inversion of full normal rank nonsquare polynomial matrices. New analytical right/left inverses of polynomial matrices are introduced, including the so-called [...]-inverses, [...]-inverses and, in particular, S-inverses, the latter providing the most general tool for the design of various polynomial matrix inverses. The application-oriented problem of selecting stable inverses is also solved. Applications in inverse-model control, in particular robust minimum variance control, are exploited, and possible applications in signal transmission/recovery in various types of MIMO channels are indicated.

Let D be a digraph, V(D) and A(D) will denote the sets of vertices and arcs of D, respectively.
A (k,l)-kernel N of D is a k-independent set of vertices (if u,v ∈ N, u ≠ v, then d(u,v), d(v,u) ≥ k) and l-absorbent (if u ∈ V(D)-N then there exists v ∈ N such that d(u,v) ≤ l). A k-kernel is a (k,k-1)-kernel. Quasi-transitive, right-pretransitive and left-pretransitive digraphs are generalizations of transitive digraphs. In this paper the following results are proved: Let D be a right-(left-) pretransitive strong digraph such that every directed triangle of D is symmetrical, then D has a k-kernel for every integer k ≥ 3; the result is also valid for non-strong digraphs in the right-pretransitive case. We also give a proof of the fact that every quasi-transitive digraph has a (k,l)-kernel for every integers k > l ≥ 3 or k = 3 and l = 2.

Artykuł pokazuje, w jakim stopniu polityczna autoidentyfikacja na skali lewica–prawica wiąże się z treścią akceptowanych przekonań w sferze tożsamościowej i gospodarczej, z poparciem czterech głównych partii politycznych w Polsce (PO, PiS, LiD, PSL) oraz z psychospołecznymi zasobami jednostki (charakterystyki socjodemograficzne oraz kapitał ludzki). Podstawę badań stanowiły dane zebrane od reprezentatywnej próby dorosłych Polaków w 2008 roku (N=1024). Przeprowadzone analizy wykazały, że autoidentyfikacja Polaków na skali lewicowości–prawicowości jest bardziej istotnie związana z przekonaniami tożsamo- ściowymi niż z ekonomicznymi; jednak relacje te w obu przypadkach nie są silne. Okazało się także, że poziom liberalizmu przekonań, zarówno w sferze światopoglądowej, jak i gospodarczej, jest zależny od płci, wykształcenia i wielkości miejsca zamieszkania jednostki. Liberalizm ekonomiczny, w porównaniu do światopoglądowego, jest silniej wyjaśniany przez takie zmienne psychologiczne, jak: zaufanie do ludzi, kontrola nad własnym losem, moralna legitymizacja systemu politycznego oraz poczucie szczęścia.
(Polish title: Lewicowosc-prawicowosc autoidentyfikacji politycznych a przekonania i kapital spoleczny - perspektywa psychologii politycznej). The article answers the question to what extent a political autoidentification on the left-right wing scale is related to the content of acceptable beliefs related to their identification as well as economic domain, to support for four main political parties (PO, PiS, LiD, PSL), and to socio-psychological resources (socio-demographic characteristics and social capital). The survey was conducted on a representative sample of Polish adults (N=1024) in 2008. The analysis proved that Poles autoidentification on the left-right wing scale is more related to identification beliefs than to economic ones, but both these relationships are rather weak. It turned out that the level of liberal beliefs, in both domains - identification and economic one, depends on gender, education and place of residence. Economic liberalism, in comparison to identification liberalism, is better explained by the following psychological variables: trust to other people, sense of control, legitimization of political system and happiness.

This article presents results of investigations of the angle of directional hearing acuity (ADHA) as a measure of the spatial hearing ability with a special emphasis on people with hearing impairments. A modified method proposed by Zakrzewski has been used – ADHA values have been determined for 8 azimuths in the horizontal plane at the height of the listeners’ head. The two-alternative-forced-choice method (2AFC), based on a new system of listeners’ responses (left – right instead of no difference – difference in location of sound sources) was the procedure used in the experiment. Investigations were carried out for two groups of subjects: normal hearing people (9 persons) and hearing impaired people (sensorineural hearing loss and tinnitus – 9 persons). In the experiment different acoustic signals were used: sinu- soidal signals (pure tones), 1/3 octave noise, amplitude modulated 1/3 octave noise, CCITT speech and traffic noises and signals corresponding to personal character of tinnitus for individual subjects. The results obtained in the investigations showed, in general, a better localization of the sound source for noise type signals than those for tonal signals. Inessential differences exist in ADHA values for particular signals between the two groups of subjects. On the other hand, significant differences for tinnitus signals and traffic noise signals were stated. A new system of listeners’ responses was used and appeared efficient (less dispersion of results compared to the standard system).

This paper describes perception of the left and right-wing values by Polish community. They are analyzed in three dimensions: ideological and doctrinal, constitutional and economical as well as social. The outcome of the analysis was the creation of the map of actual perception of left and right wing by people with certain ideological auto-identification. The article presents diff erences between the electorate and political parties programs in a political right point of view according to the principle of same-sex couples to certificate their relations. Parties of the left such as the Democratic Left Alliance (Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej) and Palikot`s Movement (Ruch Palikota) tried to support the idea of the same-sex couple partnerships however they didn’t try to make them equal with the ordinary marriages. The voters of those parties where more often ready to accept the same-sex couple partnerships, nevertheless the right side pulls in the opposite electorate. Most of the Civic Platform (Platforma Obywatelska RP) voters didn’t support the same-sex couples partnership idea, that kind of attitude dominate the Law and Justice (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość) electorate too. Nowadays the aversion to the same-sex couples rights can be clearly seen among the whole society. During the 2011 campaign also clearly become the increase of support for the same-sex couples partnership over the previous year especially in political left wing of electorate. Social ratio to the main aspects of the article divines polish political parties as much as the most of the voters, creating a big line between the left and the right side of polish politics.

Should we be afraid of the truth? This question is important not only for the world of philosophy, but also politics. Reluctance to fixed and immutable foundation used to characterize the left . This right has traditionally appealed to what is permanent, unchanging, universal, in what social order should be rooted. And for that it is criticized. It has been suggested that we should reject the right-wing chains, reject universalism, to become free and head toward postmodernism. Postmodernism today seems to give hope for further development, including policy based on new narratives – particularly left-wing. Postmodernism, as it is seen by Grzegorz Lewicki, seems to be close to the critical theory that can help us in the liberation and emancipation. Closer analysis, however, allows us to see that also in critical theory there is a desire to discover the truth about what is reality. It also allows to see that the category of truth is not as bad as it is painted. It is not necessary to get rid of the reference to the category of truth, because truth is not the problem in itself. We can still keep it without sacrificing what was the best in postmodernism. If we are successful, then there might be the chance to reconcile the left with the right.

Opis:
The ductus arteriosus is a vascular structure of the foetal circulation that connects the great arteries and determines the blood flow from the pulmonary trunk to the aorta bypassing the pulmonary circulation. After birth, it comes to the functional and structural closure of the ductus arteriosus and the foetal circulation changes into circulation of adult type. Sometimes, however, physiological degradation of the duct after the first few weeks of life does not happen - this situation is called patent ductus arteriosus and accounts for approximately 10% of  congenital heart defects. Patent ductus arteriosus may be asymptomatic or manifest itself with disturbances, mainly associated with the respiratory and circulatory systems, as well as disorders of other organs. A common clinical symptom is a characteristic continuous murmur, called machine-like murmur. The occurrence and severity of symptoms depend primarily on the size of the shunt through the duct and also on the age of the patient. The major complications of patent ductus arteriosus are bacterial endocarditis and pulmonary vascular disease. Treatment is based on the definitive closure of the ductus. During the first few weeks after birth, pharmacological closure with cyclooxygenase inhibitors (indomethacin, ibuprofen) is possible. Patent ductus arteriosus can also be managed with the use of non-invasive techniques (catheter procedures) or surgical treatment (a less invasive video-assisted thoracoscopy is also possible). The situation is different when there are complex anatomical heart defects in which the postnatally patent ductus arteriosus plays a different, beneficial role - these are so-called ductus-dependent defects. The management of such patients consists in maintaining the patency of the ductus arteriosus, because it determines the normal blood flow. There are also rare cases of premature (prenatal) closure of the ductus arteriosus, which may lead to the failure of foetal circulation.
Przewód tętniczy jest strukturą krążenia płodowego, która zapewnia łączność pomiędzy dużymi pniami tętniczymi i tym samym warunkuje przepływ krwi z pnia płucnego do aorty z ominięciem krążenia płucnego. Podczas przełomu hemodynamicznego dochodzi do funkcjonalnego, a następnie strukturalnego zamknięcia przewodu tętniczego i zmiany krążenia płodowego na krążenie typu dorosłego. Zdarza się jednak, że po porodzie nie dochodzi do fizjologicznej degeneracji przewodu - mówimy wtedy o przetrwałym przewodzie tętniczym, który stanowi około 10% wad wrodzonych serca. Wada ta może przebiegać bezobjawowo lub manifestować się zaburzeniami, głównie ze strony układu krążeniowo-oddechowego, ale także innych narządów. Typowym objawem klinicznym jest charakterystyczny szmer ciągły, zwany maszynowym. Występowanie i nasilenie objawów zależy przede wszystkim od wielkości przecieku krwi przez przewód, a także od wieku pacjenta. Do najważniejszych powikłań przetrwałego przewodu tętniczego należą bakteryjne zapalenie wsierdzia oraz utrwalone nadciśnienie płucne. Leczenie polega na definitywnym zamknięciu przewodu. W pierwszych tygodniach po narodzinach możliwe jest zamknięcie farmakologiczne z wykorzystaniem inhibitorów cyklooksygenazy (indometacyna, ibuprofen). Możliwe jest również zabiegowe zamknięcie przetrwałego przewodu tętniczego z wykorzystaniem technik kardiologii interwencyjnej (przezskórnie) lub kardiochirurgii (operacyjnie bądź małoinwazyjnie z zastosowaniem wideotorakoskopii). Sytuacją szczególną są złożone wady anatomiczne serca, w których postnatalnie drożny przewód tętniczy pełni zupełnie odmienną, dobroczynną funkcję - są to tzw. wady przewodozależne. Postępowanie u takich pacjentów ma na celu przede wszystkim utrzymanie drożności ductus arteriosus, warunkuje on bowiem utrzymanie prawidłowego przepływu krwi. Znane są także rzadkie przypadki, w których dochodzi do przedwczesnego (prenatalnego) zamknięcia przewodu tętniczego, co może prowadzić do niewydolności krążenia płodowego.

The article is devoted to analysis of various countercultures aspects. The Author hypothesizes that the forms of contemporary politics are the result of two fundamentally interrelated strategic vectors. First is built upon a politics of ressentiment, setting “ordinary” folks against the socio-cultural elite which constututed to the "new right" movement. Second vector is originated of counterculture of the 1960s. The author states that counterculture exist without a singular identity. It is a space of hybridity and heterogenity. On the other hand counterculture is related to the concept of contemporary ambivalence as well it transforms of affective experience of everyday life. Another feature of counterculture is connected with the conviction that counterculture stands against of dominant culture. Also the author puts counterculture movements against various aspects of new american modernity including reconstruction of the practice of the hegemony, as well as through popular culture and reconstruction of the "left" and "right" idelogy and practice.
