    Jürgen Moltmann, one of the world’s leading Protestant theologians, is widely recognized as a key figure in the growing concern for eco-theology. For Moltmann, the present ecological crisis can be overcome by a new understanding of God and creation. The concept of a triune God helps to dispel the myth of our unilateral relationship of dominion over nature. Moltmann sees also some positive aspects of Gaia theory. He champions a commitment to justice for all creatures, not just human. He moves beyond anthropocentrism and tries to balance the traditional emphasis on God’s creative work by insisting that a doctrine of creation should culminate in the Sabbath celebration.

    The most remarkable example of the theological retreat from a discussion of the scientific description of nature can be found in the theological doctrine of creation of the German protestant theologian Karl Barth (1886–1968). In the present many the Anglo-Saxon and the German protestants theologians show a big interest in the subject of relations between science and Christian theology (especially with theology of creation). Therefor their idea of theology of creation is completely in contrast to the Barth’s position rejecting the necessity of referring to the results of the natural sciences in the theology of creation. This is a relevant issue to the Christian faith. Its justification is made today in a climate of scientific thinking, in which scientific tools of recognizing of the world, as well as the scientific picture of the world, play an important role. This article will demonstrate the postulate of hermeneutic needs of the relationship theology – science based on the concept of theology of creation of two remarkable protestants theologians of twentieth century the Lutheran Wolfhart Pannenberg (1928–2014) and the representative of Reformed theology Jürgen Moltmann (*1926). Particular attention is paid to their indications that a credible doctrine of God as the Creator must take into account scientific understandings of the world.
    Koncepcja teologii stworzenia niemieckiego teologa protestanckiego Karla Bartha (1886–1968) dostarcza najbardziej klasycznego przykładu odwrotu w teologii protestanckiej od odnoszenia się do wiedzy przyrodniczej. Współcześnie wielu protestanckich teologów anglosaskich i niemieckich, w przeciwieństwie do tej koncepcji, odrzucającej konieczność odnoszenia się w teologii stworzenia do wyników nauk przyrodniczych, wykazuje duże zainteresowanie tematyką relacji doktryny chrześcijańskiej do nauk przyrodniczych. Jest to dziś ważna kwestia dla wiary chrześcijańskiej. Uzasadnienie wiary dokonuje się współcześnie w klimacie myślenia naukowego, w którym ważną rolę odgrywają naukowe narzędzia poznawcze, jak również przyrodniczy obraz świata. Artykuł prezentuje postulat hermeneutycznej potrzeby relacji teologia – nauki przyrodnicze na przykładzie koncepcji teologii stworzenia dwóch ważnych w teologii protestanckiej XX w. teologów: luteranina Wolfharta Pannenberga (1928–2014) i reprezentanta teologii reformowanej Jürgena Moltmanna (ur. 1926). Szczególna uwaga jest zwrócona na problem wiarygodnej doktryny Boga Stwórcy z konieczności uwzględniającej aktualny przyrodniczy obraz świata.

    Opis:
    Protestant reformed theology cultivates unambiguous theology of time. However, it concerns the contemporary – the twentieth century reformed theology as such a reflection can not be found in the writings of the reformed Protestant classics (John Calvin, Huldrych Zwingli). Protestant theological thought approaches human wisdom, and thus philosophy, with reserve and skepticism, suspecting it of contamination by the effects of original sin. Reformed Protestants rely on God’s revelation in Jesus Christ and on the Word of God to find data on the concept of time. It must be admitted that Jürgen Moltman, the reformed German theologian, is the most sympathetic for the philosophical concepts. One can find many references to philosophy in his reflection on time. However, it is not taking over these threads uncritically, but the constant awareness of the presence of philosophy in culture, also contemporary culture. The reformed concept of time is thoroughly theology of time, as the authors mentioned in the article (especially Karl Barth, Emil Brunner and Jürgen Moltmann) make a lot of effort and prove that time exists by God’s will and intention and is His work related to him as Lord and Creator. Time is of historical importance and is a kind of God’s story with man. Reformed theology does not know the concept of secular time. Time is the work of God, eternity and God’s existence are inseparable from time, and the authority of God is absolute and manifests itself in the eschatological completion of time. It seems that such a condensed concept of time, proposed by Protestant reformed theology, difficult to extract and systematize, can be a valuable counterpoint to all the concepts of time dividing it into the secular and sacred spheres.
    Protestancka teologia reformowana uprawia jednoznaczną teologię czasu. Dotyczy to jednak dopiero współczesnej, bo dwudziestowiecznej teologii reformowanej, jako że w pismach klasyków protestantyzmu reformowanego (Jan Kalwin, Huldrych Zwingli) takiej refleksji znaleźć nie można. Teologiczna myśl protestancka podchodzi do ludzkiej mądrości, a tym samym do filozofii, z rezerwą i sceptycyzmem, podejrzewając ją o skażenie skutkami grzechu pierworodnego. Protestanci reformowani zdają się więc na Boże Objawienie w Jezusie Chrystusie i na Boże Słowo, by tam znaleźć dane na temat pojęcia czasu. Trzeba przyznać, że największą sympatię dla koncepcji filozoficznych przejawia niemiecki teolog reformowany, Jürgen Moltmann. W jego refleksji na temat czasu można odnaleźć sporo odniesień do filozofii. Nie jest to bynajmniej bezkrytyczne przejmowanie tych wątków, lecz stała świadomość obecności filozofii w kulturze, także współczesnej. Reformowana koncepcja czasu jest na wskroś teologią czasu jako że przywołani w artykule autorzy (zwłaszcza Karl Barth, Emil Brunner i Jürgen Moltmann) wkładają wiele trudu w udowodnienie tego, że czas istnieje z woli i zamysłu Boga, jest Jego dziełem i ma związek z Nim jako Panem i Stwórcą. Czas ma znaczenie historiozbawcze, jest rodzajem historii Boga z człowiekiem. Teologia reformowana nie zna pojęcia czasu świeckiego. Czas jest dziełem Bożym, wieczność i bycie Boga mają nierozerwalny związek z czasem, a władztwo Boga jest absolutne i przejawia się również w eschatologicznym dopełnieniu czasu. Wydaje się więc, że tak streszczona koncepcja czasu, zaproponowana przez protestancką teologię reformowaną, trudna do wydobycia i systematyzacji, może stanowić cenny kontrapunkt względem wszystkich koncepcji czasu, dzielących go na sferę świecką i sakralną.

    Theologians of the period of the Second Vatican Council, based on the theology of earthly realities, sought to remove the split between theology and life and to respond to the crisis of the social doctrine of the Church at that time. In this context a specific role was played by the political theology, with Johann Batista Metz as its main representative. The article shows and assesses political theology as a new model of the social doctrine of the Church.
