Opis:
IoT (Internet of Things) is certainly one of the leading current and future trends for processing in the current distributed world. It is changing our life and society. IoT allows new ubiquitous applications and processing, but, on the other hand, it introduces potentially serious security threats. Nowadays researchers in IoT areas should, without a doubt, consider and focus on security aspects. This paper is aimed at a high-level review of the existing IoT enabling standalone middleware solutions and frameworks in terms of potential application areas, architecture and components, communication APIs as well as support for key security features including access control, support against attacks on service, device authorization and data filtering. On the one hand, it allows the developer to choose the middleware best matching their needs. On the other hand, it can serve as a starting point for further research on middleware security features based on the provided security related open areas and challenges.

Celem badań podjętych w tym artykule jest analiza świata Internetu Rzeczy (IoT) rozumianego nie tylko w sensie technologicznym (technologia dla samej technologii i zysków ekonomicznych), lecz również w znaczeniu społecznym (technologia w służbie rozwojowi społeczeństw, ich potrzeb i bezpieczeństwa). Głównymi założeniami, wokół których dokonano analizy tzw. świata smart, stającego się wielkim systemem informacyjnym, są: a) przekonanie, iż mimo ciągłego wzrostu liczby urządzeń podłączanych do Internetu, nadal wiele z ich możliwości dla domu lub pracy pozostaje nieodkrytych, a świadomość korzyści, jakie może przynieść Internet Rzeczy dla jego użytkowników, nadal jest niska; b) poszerzenie dostępu do Internetu urządzeń i procesów, które pierwotnie nie były do tego przystosowane, może mieć istotny wpływ na wzrost poczucia zagrożenia bezpieczeństwa personalnego, stanowiącego efekt hipersprawczości podmiotu bezpieczeństwa, którym jest człowiek. W celu precyzyjnego omówienia podjętego problemu dokonano analizy zagadnień świata IoT zarówno w wymiarze teoretycznym (zastosowano metodę analizy i krytyki piśmiennictwa), jak i empirycznym (wykorzystano metodę sondażu).
The aim of the research undertaken in this article is to analyze the world of the Internet of Things (IoT) understood not only in a technological sense (technology for technology’s sake and economic gain), but also in a social sense (technology in the service of the development of societies, their needs and security). The main assumptions around which the analysis of the so-called smart world, which is becoming a large information system, was made are: a) the belief that despite the continuous increase in the number of devices connected to the Internet, still many of their capabilities for the home or work remain undiscovered, and the awareness of the benefits that the Internet of Things can bring to its users is still low; b) the expansion of access to the Internet of devices and processes that were not originally designed for it, can have a significant impact on the increase in the sense of personal security risk, which is the result of the hyper-powerfulness of the security subject, which is a person. In order to accurately discuss the problem undertaken, the issues of the IoT world were analyzed both in the theoretical dimension (the method of analysis and criticism of the literature was used) and empirical (the method of survey was used).

This paper proposes an advanced routing method in the purpose of increasing IoT routing device’s power-efficiency, which allows to centralize routing tables computing as well as to push loading, related to routing tables computation, towards the Cloud environment at all. We introduced a phased solution for the formulated task. Generally, next steps were performed: stated requirements for the system with Cloud routing, proposed possible solution, and developed the whole system’s structure. For a proper study of the efficiency, the experiment was conducted using the developed system’s prototype for real-life cases, each represents own cluster size (several topologies by each size), used sizes are: 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29. Expectable results for this research – decrease the time of cluster’s reaction on topology changes (delay, needed to renew routing tables), which improves system’s adaptivity.

The Internet of Things gets bigger and bigger audiences. This topic is really popular in science and also in industry. There are many fields for research. One of them is efficient deployment against resource utilization. Another one is containerization within IoT platforms. One of the commonalities of these two topics is different CPU affinity against containerized platforms to get the best performance. There were plenty of papers dedicated to containerization even in IoT but none of these focused on core affinity. As this survey analyzes the scalability and stability of the platform in different core-container configurations based on the IoT platform - DeviceHive, it brings a novelty to this area. Most interesting observations were made in the field of the same configurations in terms of the number of nodes but varying with core affinity. Analyzed observations may be useful during the architecture planning phase for containerized IoT platforms.

Opis:
The use of the Amazon Web Services cloud enables new functionalities that are not possible with traditional solutions: low latency, local data processing and storage, and direct connectivity to other cloud services. Reimagining the way IoT connectivity services are presented by combining AWS cloud technology with mobile connectivity offers rapid prototyping to help connect devices natively over Wi-Fi. For this, the MQTT communication protocol is used to interact with the IoT device and exchange data, which allows controlling the basic functions of a sensor node. The installation is realized through a software development kit (SDK), which allows the creation of an application for Android devices. This solution gives the option to integrate together, improving the connectivity of the IoT system. The results enable board logging and network configuration, and can also be used to control the IoT device. The embedded firmware provides the required security functions.

W artykule zaprezentowano sposób implementacji wydajnego stosu komunikacji dla bezprzewodowych, zasilanych bateryjnie rejestratorów NB-IoT. Na podstawie doświadczeń zgromadzonych przy projektowaniu i rozwoju oprogramowania rejestratorów, wykonano analizy mające na celu wybór odpowiednich protokołów komunikacji, formatu serializacji danych, konfiguracji modułu NB-IoT oraz dodatkowe algorytmy opracowane w celu optymalizacji liczby transmisji i ilości przesyłanych danych. Przedstawiono również uzyskane wyniki wraz z analizą wpływu poszczególnych parametrów konfiguracji na czas życia baterii urządzenia i zużycie danych.
In this article we present how to implement an efficient communication stack for wireless, battery-powered NB-IoT loggers. Based on the experience gained by designing and developing loggers’ software, we present our analyses performed in order to select the appropriate communication protocols, data serialisation format, configuration of the NB-IoT module and proprietary algorithms developed to optimise the number of transmissions and the amount of data sent. We also present the obtained results together with an analysis of the impact of individual configuration parameters on the devices’ battery life and data usage.

The development of IoT (the Internet of Things) wireless transmission opens a new era in communication systems. In the next years, the development and implementation of IoT systems will be very dynamic. It can be seen that the solutions of LTE – NB-IoT (Long Term Evolution – Narrowband IoT) transmission devices are implemented in a wide range of terrestrial solutions, e.g. smart grids. This paper aims to analyse the possibility of the use of NB-IoT technology for maritime communication applications and partially, for some maritime safety solutions, based on signal coverage analysis at sea. An interesting approach is the comparison of the results of NB-IoT coverage to the classic cellular LTEbased communication systems. Proposed solutions are based on the practical implementation of a designed specialised data concentrator with implemented gateway and radio modems, for both NB-IoT technology as well as LTE. In the paper, analyses of radio link budget and propagation loss models for sea environment are presented. The coverage analysis is based on real measurements of the efficiency of transmissions using wireless modems implemented in the developed data concentrator.

Strong requirements for automation in the production processes using machine tools have been increasing due to lack of high-skilled machining engineers. Automation used to be utilised in mass production, but it is also necessary in medium- to low-volume production recently. Next requirements will be monitoring or sensing functions to make the following possible: prompt service when the machine stops; detection of abnormality before the machine breaks down; and compensation of thermal displacement to ensure machining accuracy. These now need to be performed automatically in place of operators so that abnormality can be detected during machining operation. In this paper core technologies to support automation system will be discussed which are operation monitoring, predictive maintenance, sensing interface and thermal displacement compensation as a sensing application.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of this article is to call the attention to specific social behaviors that have been generated by the indiscriminate use of the technologies. We want to make evident that those behaviors cause a detriment of the communication between the members of the Mexican families, causing in consequence that minors are being neglected by parents and the lack of adequate parental control in the face of the risks associated with the use of certain technologies. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The presented study involves the relation between people’s behaviors related to their access to certain technologies face to the concept of family and its importance in the society for an interconnected world. We make an in-depth study of the academic and informative literature which deals with the phenomena called phubbing. We refer to varied research, both technical and empirical and applied the inductive method and critical analysis, taking into consideration previous official, as well as non-official, researches that demonstrate phubbing adverse effects in communication between Mexican family’s members. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: In the first part of the research we defined the concept of family in Mexican Law and how the political agenda proposes the use of technologies in order to have a greater development of the society that can turn in better opportunities and conditions of life of the individuals in general and families in particular. In a second part we refer the specific Internet penetration in Mexico as a consequence of the above mentioned agenda. Finally, in a third part, we analyze the phenomena called phubbing and its impact in Mexican Families that is the essential part of our argumentation. RESEARCH RESULTS: The result of this argumentation ends to some advices that deal with better practices in the usage of technologies in order to prevent adverse effects in Mexican families without renouncing to the incorporation of technologies in our daily life routines. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Even though the consequences of phubbing in our society are evident, we cannot yet accurately count its effects. There are data regarding the time that parents spend with their children compared to the average time they spend using applications, video games, e-mail, social networks, and media in general. The disorganization in the time we spend in leisure, work and family life turns evident. This situation invites us to reflect about the role technologies play in relation to our family integration or disintegration. Hyper-connectivity has generated adverse conditions for individuals, both physical and psychological, that result in an affection towards the fundamental pillar of our society that is the family. It is noted that the Mexican government needs to face the growing wave of phubbing, by informing its society about the risks of the abuse of the use of technologies in one hand, and to promote programs to invite people to a more conscious access to social networks by best practices of the other. Only in that way we can grant the principle of freedom and family autonomy in Mexico. Otherwise, how can we refer to a family autonomy if its members that make up the core of society have stopped communicating?

Covering a wide area by a large number of WiFi networks is anticipated to become very popular with Internet-of-things (IoT) and initiatives such as smart cities. Such network configuration is normally realized through deploying a large number of access points (APs) with overlapped coverage. However, the imbalanced traffic load distribution among different APs affects the energy consumption of a WiFi device if it is associated to a loaded AP. This research work aims at predicting the communication-related energy that shall be consumed by a WiFi device if it transferred some amount of data through a certain selected AP. In this paper, a forecast of the Energy consumption is proposed to be obtained using an algorithm that is supported by a mathematical model. Consequently, the proposed algorithm can automatically select the best WiFi network (best AP) that the WiFi device can connect to in order to minimize energy consumption. The proposed algorithm is experimentally validated in a realistic lab setting. The observed performance indicates that the algorithm can provide an accurate forecast to the energy that shall be consumed by a WiFi transceiver in sending some amount of data via a specific AP.

The problem of effective storing and processing of data is a very important aspect of every IoT application. To fulfill these requirements, NoSQL scalable datastores are frequently used. Scalable Distributed 2-layer Data Structures (SD2DS) are examples of such systems. SD2DS is a general purpose structure that can be used as a distributed datastore, easy to adapt to many different needs. In the paper, an enhanced architecture of IoT systems (denoted as IoT*) supplemented with SD2DS is proposed and evaluated. The combination brings many advantages, such as the possibility to create one unified structure consisting of many servers accessible by many clients, usage of different media for storage (such as RAM, hard disk, databases and cloud) and a single access method for both data and data sources.

Opis:
The rapid development of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the wide area of application rise the IoT concept to be the future of the internet. Indeed, IoT environment has a special nature with a lot of constraints in term of resource consumption. Moreover, the data exchanged between things and the internet is big data. In order to achieve efficiency in IoT communication, many technologies and new protocols based on these technologies have been developed. This paper aims to study the performance of Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) by implementing this protocol on test-bed network infrastructure and analyzing the performance properties such as delay, jitter, packet loss and throughput for real time and non-real time scenarios. Finally, future research issues in MQTT protocol are suggested.

This paper has provided an overview of selected IoT architectures, relevant requirements towards 5G (and beyond) systems as well as indication of NOMA techniques suitability as a multiple access technique and recent developments in the area of radio interface for IoT coexisting with 5G (and beyond) mobile networks. The authors assume that IoT networks in the future will be augmented with NOMA-capable sink-nodes (proxy or gateway) that can deliver aggregated data from multiple sensors for delivery to the cloud or other server. The main aim of this paper is to go beyond state of the art available nowadays and indicate directions for NOMA that make it even more attractive in combination with edge computing, cloud-RAN and especially AI/ML to improve future 6G networks.

The article presents the results of research on the use of measuring devices based on RFID tags and graphic tags to track the increase in production. The conducted research experiments were made in a real production company, which is characterized by an average degree of digitization of its business processes and significantly uses the human factor in production. The conducted research allowed us to show the usefulness of measurement methods in tracking business processes, and to analyze the method of obtaining production data to achieve the traceability of manufactured components. The study also presents selected examples of IT systems in solving traceability problems (traceability and traceability of production).

W niniejszym opracowaniu Autor skupia swoją uwagę na dwóch głównych aspektach. W części teoretycznej przedstawia definicyjne ujęcie pojęcia „Internet rzeczy” w oparciu o wybór najczęściej cytowanych źródeł. W części drugiej przeprowadzona została analiza bibliometryczna, która ma na celu wskazanie rozwoju pojęcia „Internet rzeczy” we współczesnej literaturze oraz znaleźć odpowiedź na pytanie: w jakim stopniu termin ten jest wykorzystywany w obszarze biznesu ekonomii i zarządzania? Analiza prowadzona jest w oparciu o bazy Web of Science oraz SCOPUS, a wyniki zostały modelowane za pomocą programów komputerowych CiteSpace oraz VOSviewer (Visualizing Scientific Landscpaes). Prowadzone badanie ma za zadanie wskazać lukę badawczą, która dotychczas nie została wystarczająco zagospodarowana opracowaniami z zakresu zarządzania dotyczącymi wskazanego pojęcia.
In this study, the author focuses his attention on two main aspects. In the theoretical part, he presents a definition of the concept of "Internet of Things" based on the selection of the most cited sources. In the second part, a bibliometric analysis was carried out, which aims to indicate the development of the concept of "Internet of Things" in contemporary literature, and to find an answer to the question: to what extent is this term used in the area of business, economics and management? The analysis is based on the Web of Science and SCOPUS databases, and the results were modeled using CiteSpace and VOSviewer (Visualizing Scientific Landscpaes) computer programs. The conducted research is to indicate a research gap that has not been sufficiently covered by studies in the field of management concerning the indicated concept so far.

Science - research transformation of the Internet of Things (IoT) has a number of colours and shadows, many dimensions including technical, social, community, financial, economic and civilization. This transformation has many wide development roads but also numerable pitfalls and traps. It does not take place solely at the level of scientific and technical progress and innovation. It preliminarily takes place in a complex sociopolitical-economic context, narrowed for simplification as social acceptance and education only. Such acceptance, for example expressed simply by demand and market popularity, for simple items supplemented by useful functions, such as an iron that recognizes the type of fabric and matches its work accordingly, a completely autonomous vacuum cleaner, etc., is trivial. We aim at much deeper relations of IoT with society. If IoT were only adding such functionalities, it would not be worth the time to consider it here. IoT causes a lot of confusion for much more important reasons in many areas of life. Somewhere further on the potential paths of IoT development, it has been noted with interest, but also with anxiety, the possibility of its empowerment as local but also global, superintendent surveillance system, gathering enormous amounts of information, creating knowledge and making autonomous decisions. Potential subjectivity must include such attributes as acquiting from the creator, autonomy, consciousness, morality and further building by the society the whole legal system around the new entity. It will not be a single entity, it will be a whole virtual society, with electronic people. The consequences can be far-reaching and appear as an inevitable option on such a scale for the first time in the history of our human society. Overcoming certain barriers recognized by us may mean that the intelligence and consciousness are not only attributes of the human biological mind. Such reasoning, not without a reason, encounters strong resistance. However, there is a fundamental difference between the opposition to some genetic research and the potential modification of man himself, and the opposition to machine building, a system of superintendence that far exceeds the possibilities of a single man and of entire societies.

The article includes the description of the current development of the Internet of Things (IoT) in Poland with special consideration of the society’s awareness of the IoT. In the recent years, the Internet of Things has been gaining an increasing number of supporters. The interest in this topic of many corporations from the discipline of IT and state-of-the-art technologies is especially important in this scope. The market observation in the recent years has shown that the IoT may become a widespread technology in many homes, which is why it is important to build awareness of the IoT among the Poles. The conducted survey studies were aimed at verifying the current state of the Polish society’s knowledge about the IoT, which is presented in this article. The article also includes the description of possible future implementations of the IoT and characterisation of the correlation between the IoT and other rapidly developing technologies.
W artykule opisano dotychczasowy rozwój Internetu rzeczy (IoT) w Polsce ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem świadomości społeczeństwa o IoT. Internet rzeczy w okresie ostatnich lat zdobywa coraz to większe grono zwolenników. Szczególnie istotne jest w tym zakresie zainteresowanie się tą tematyką przez wiele koncernów ze świata IT oraz nowoczesnych technologii. Jak wynika z obserwacji rynku na przestrzeni kilku lat IoT może stać się powszechną technologią w wielu domach w związku z powyższym ważne jest budowanie świadomości o IoT wśród Polaków. Prowadzone badania ankietowe miały za zadanie zweryfikować obecny stan wiedzy społeczeństwa w Polsce odnośnie IoT, co przedstawiono w niniejszym artykule. W artykule opisano także możliwe implementacje w przyszłości odnośnie IoT, a także scharakteryzowano korelacje IoT z innymi technologiami dynamicznie się rozwijającymi.

Modeling and design have been adopted as the leading methods for learning IoT topics. A home weather station is described as an example of a didactic IoT project.

In-situ monitoring of mangrove forests is expensive, cumbersome, time consuming and error-prone, hence remote approaches are being used widely nowadays. Remote sensing using satellites, UAVs and other devices is incapable of collecting many important types of data required for processing, therefore a prototype of an IoT device is designed and built for monitoring environmental parameters of the largest mangrove forests in the world, the Sundarbans in Bangladesh. The prototype is tested for a few hours in a simulated environment where the readings are updated every 2 seconds and alert notifications are received if an emergency event occurs. The simulation results prove the effectiveness of the proposed device and the feasibility of it for low cost remote monitoring of the mangrove forests.

The IoT technology is currently used in many areas and marked by growing popularity. On the one hand, the IoT makes our lives easier, on the other hand, it presents challenges in terms of security and privacy protection. An IoT infrastructure is characterized by a high level of threats due to, inter alia, numerous technical barriers that make it difficult to use conventional methods to protect information. The aim of this paper is to present a symmetric coding algorithm based on algebraic groups generated by specific trigonometric curves. The algorithm is dedicated to short data sequences transmitted by devices with limited computing power.

Faster R-CNN is an algorithm development that continuously starts from CNN then R-CNN and Faster R-CNN. The development of the algorithm is needed to test whether the heuristic algorithm has optimal provisions. Broadly speaking, faster R-CNN is included in algorithms that are able to solve neural network and machine learning problems to detect a moving object. One of the moving objects in the current phenomenon is the use of masks. Where various countries in the world have issued endemic orations after the Covid 19 pandemic occurred. Detection tool has been prepared that has been tested at the mandatory mask door, namely for mask users. In this paper, the role of the Faster R-CNN algorithm has been carried out to detect masks poured on Internet of Thinks (IoT) devices to automatically open doors for standard mask users. From the results received that testing on the detection of moving mask objects when used reaches 100% optimal at a distance of 0.5 to 1 meter and 95% at a distance of 1.5 to 2 meters so that the process of sending detection signals to IoT devices can be carried out at a distance of 1 meter at the position mask users to automatic doors.

The Internet of Things (IoT) consist of smart connected devices in homes, businesses and cities that has the ability communicate over an Internet without human-to-human or human-to-computer involvement. IoT communication standards and platforms has a high potential for a wide range of applications in different domains. Collecting the data by a large number of sensors, is a challenging task because of many open issues. Effective collection and distribution are crucial for classes of smart city services such as environmental monitoring, public security, transportation, and other. Unfortunately there are many connection gaps between the raw sensor data and the information context that are needed by high-level services and applications. Utilization of some Semantic Web standards provide better integration of sensor with applications, but still is far from being solved. Therefore, we have analyzed selected standards, protocols, and architectures and have suggested some enhancements into “common semantics” model.

Water is an important part of all living things, including humans, animals, and plants, but concern for clean water is decreasing due to numerous human activities, which cause pollution. Water pollution is characterized by changes in physical, chemical and biological contents due to the wastes generated from the actions of living things, such as water irrigation. Therefore, this research aimed to overcome irrigation wastewater pollution using the Internet of Things (IoT)-based phytoremediation method, water hyacinth, apu-apu, and lotus. It was carried out using a tool monitoring system based on IoT technology with parameters for measuring pH, temperature, and water turbidity through the internet network. The results showed that the acidity level increased by 7–8 with a decrease in COD using water hyacinth, apu-apu, and lotus by 41.55%, 32.77%, and 32.91%, respectively. The BOD level using water hyacinth, as well as apu-apu and lotus decreased by 37.82%, and 31.54%, respectively. The decrease in phosphate level using water hyacinth, apu-apu and lotus was by 3.55%. Finally, the decrease in nitrate level using water hyacinth plants, apu-apu and lotus was 13.83%, 9.61% and 19.61%, respectively.

Niniejszy artykuł jest próbą analizy tego zagadnienia z perspektywy przepisów rozporządzenia 2017/745, które wchodzi w życie w maju 2020 roku. W jego ramach zostanie zarysowana problematyka związana z korzystaniem z wyrobów medycznych w perspektywie zagrożeń, których źródłem jest Internet oraz obecny stan prawny dotyczący badania wyrobów medycznych pod kątem cyberbezpieczeństwa. Ponadto zostaną przeanalizowane przepisy dotyczące definicji wyrobu medycznego, w szczególności przesłanek uznających oprogramowanie za samodzielny wyrób, zasady klasyfikacji wyrobów medycznych oraz zasady ich wprowadzania do obrotu a następnie nadzorowania urządzeń będących w obrocie. Osią wspólną analiz jest pytanie o zasady stwierdzenia bezpieczeństwa z perspektywy zagrożeń płynących z sieci.

The unpredictable and huge data generation nowadays by smart devices from IoT and mobile Crowd Sensing applications like (Sensors, smartphones, Wi-Fi routers) need processing power and storage. Cloud provides these capabilities to serve organizations and customers, but when using cloud appear some limitations, the most important of these limitations are Resource Allocation and Task Scheduling. The resource allocation process is a mechanism that ensures allocation virtual machine when there are multiple applications that require various resources such as CPU and I/O memory. Whereas scheduling is the process of determining the sequence in which these tasks come and depart the resources in order to maximize efficiency. In this paper we tried to highlight the most relevant difficulties that cloud computing is now facing. We presented a comprehensive review of resource allocation and scheduling techniques to overcome these limitations. Finally, the previous techniques and strategies for allocation and scheduling have been compared in a table with their drawbacks.

In this article, a monitoring system based on IoT technologies of the substation electrical system in the Republic of Kazakhstan was developed. At the moment, the operation of power systems is extremely important to maintain the frequency of electric current over time. For management and monitoring applications, it is necessary to take into account communication within acceptable limits. IoT technologies are considered the main functions in applications for monitoring and managing energy systems in real time, as well as making effective decisions on both technical and financial issues of the system, for monitoring the main form of data registration on an electric power substation in the city of Shymkent of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for consistent effective decision-making by system operators. In this work, an Internet of Things-based monitoring system was implemented and implemented for the substation of the power system using a specialized device built into the FPGA controller for fast integrated digitalization of transformer substations of real-time distribution electrical networks. The IoT platform also provides complete remote observability and will increase reliability for power system operators in real time. This article is mainly aimed at providing a practical application that has been implemented and tested.

One of the most popular technologies is the internet of things (IoT). It refers to the number of users and penetration in the industry (I-IoT) and consumer (C-IoT) sectors. The previous studies indicated that the usage rate of the C-IoT is outperforming the I-IoT worldwide. However, the contrary indication occurred in Indonesia. Among developing countries, the spending level of IoT in Indonesia is significant, but the use level of the technology is less developed. This survey study purposed to predict what factors influence the behavior intention to use C-IoT. The researchers extended the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model by adopting the network externality aspects. Around 400 valid data were collected from urban communities in the six most populous provinces in the country. The scholars used the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method using SmartPLS 3.3 in the data analysis stage. The findings expressed that the number of users and social influence factors are not influential factors influencing behavior intention to use IoT. Besides that, the UTAUT model extension may also be one of the theoretical references for future similar studies. Practically, the findings may also be one of the considerations for the stakeholders of C-IoT implementation in Indonesia.

The subject of the article is the design and practical implementation of the wireless mesh network. IQRF radio modules were used for the network design. The IQRF® technique has enabled the construction of a mesh network with the possibility of reconfiguration. The theoretical part contains a description of the IQRF® hardware solutions used. The practical scope includes the design part, where the configuration of the radio modules was carried out and the parameters of the radio network were set to allow its implementation in various topologies. Then, a wireless network consisting of 10 IQRF modules was launched in the P3 building of the Opole University of Technology. At this stage, configured radio modules were placed in selected rooms on all five floors of the building in order to carry out tests of the radio network constructed in this way. The tests included measuring the packet transmission delay time as well as the received signal strength. Research was carried out for several network topologies.

Waste management is a challenging problem for most of the countries. The current waste segregation and the collection method are not efficient and cost-effective. In this paper, a prototype is presented for smart waste management. It is also capable of waste segregation at the ground level and providing real-time data to the administrator. Impact and cost analysis of the deployment of smartbin is also presented considering one ward of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. It is clear from that deployment of this smartbin will save about 40% of the current expenditure for that ward.

The fast growth in the population density in urban areas demands more facilities and resources. To meet the needs of city development, the use of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and the smart systems is the very quick and valuable source. However, thousands of IoT devices are interconnecting and communicating with each other over the Internet results in generating a huge amount of data, termed as Big Data. To integrate IoT services and processing Big Data in an efficient way aimed at smart city is a challenging task. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed a system for smart city development based on IoT using Big Data Analytics. We use sensors deployment including smart home sensors, vehicular networking, weather and water sensors, smart parking sensor, and surveillance objects, etc. initially a four-tier architecture is proposed, which includes 1) Bottom Tier: which is responsible for IoT sources, data generations, and collections 2) Intermediate Tier-1: That is responsible for all type of communication between sensors, relays, base stations, the internet, etc. 3) Intermediate Tier 2: it is responsible for data management and processing using Hadoop framework, and 4) Top tier: it is responsible for application and usage of the data analysis and results generated. The collected data from all smart system is processed at real-time to achieve smart cities using Hadoop with Spark, VoltDB, Storm or S4. We use existing datasets by various researchers including smart homes, smart parking weather, pollution, and vehicle for analysis and testing. All the datasets are replayed to test the real-time efficiency of the system. Finally, we evaluated the system by efficiency in term of throughput and processing time. The results show that the proposed system is scalable and efficient.

The Internet has evolved from connecting people and later videos, photos, and text to more recently physical objects. Using sensors, physical objects can “talk” (transmit data) to each other and even command each other to perform a physical act. As things and people become more connected, such objects will also become part of social net-works, much in the same way that people tag photos on Facebook. In this way, the value of such objects will increase for both research and learning. The IOT and Cloud computing technologies can provide solutions for the above-mentioned problems in the education system. Cloud computing enables users to control and access data via the Internet. The main users of a typical higher education cloud include students, faculty, administrative staff, Examination Branch and Admission Branch. All the main users of the institution are connected to the cloud. Separate login is provided for all the users for their respective work[12]. Teachers can upload their class Tutorials, assignments, and tests on the cloud server which students will be able to access all the teaching material provided by the teachers via the Internet using computers and other electronic devices both at home and college and 24X7. This paper focuses on the integration of Cloud and IOT for the education system. Connected de-vices can help make life easier for students with special needs. Many of the daydreams for IOT in education involve students taking advantage of new technologies to complete cool new projects.

The Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud-based collaborative platforms have emerged as new infrastructures over the recent decades. The classification of network traffic in terms of benign and malevolent traffic is indispensable for IoT/cloud-based collaborative platforms for optimally utilizing channel capac ity for transmitting benign traffic and blocking malicious traffic. The traffic classification mechanism should be dynamic and capable enough for classifying network traffic in a quick manner so that malevolent traffic can be identified at earlier stages and benign traffic can be speedily channelized to the destined nodes. In this paper, we present a deep-learning recurrent LSTM RNet-based technique for classifying traffic over IoT/cloud platforms using the Word2Vec approach. Machine-learning techniques (MLTs) have also been employed for comparing the performance of these techniques with the proposed LSTM RNet classification method. In the proposed research work, network traffic is clas sified into three classes: Tor-Normal, NonTor-Normal, and NonTor-Malicious traffic. The research outcome shows that the proposed LSTM RNet accurately classifies such traffic and also helps reduce network latency as well as enhance data transmission rates and network throughput.

The objective of this work is to set up a methodology that considers missing data from a connected heartbeat sensor in order to propose a good replacement methodology in the context of heart rate variability (HRV) computation. The framework is a research project, which aims to build a system that can measure stress and other factors influencing the onset and development of heart disease. The research encompasses studying existing methods, and improving them by use of experimental data from case study that describe the participant’s everyday life. We conduct a study to modelize stress from the HRV signal, which is extracted from a heart rate monitor belt connected to a smart watch. This paper describes data recording procedure and data imputation methodology. Missing data is a topic that has been discussed by several authors. The manuscript explains why we choose spline interpolation for data values imputation. We implement a random suppression data procedure and simulate removed data. After that, we implement several algorithms and choose the best one for our case study based on the mean square error.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest projekt oraz budowa prototypu czujnika wilgotności gleby przeznaczonego do zastosowania w otwartym terenie. Wykonany czujnik pozwala na monitorowanie zmian wilgotności gleby na czterech głębokościach odpowiednio: 5, 10, 15 oraz 20 cm. Projektowany układ wykorzystuje technologie lora do uzyskania połączenia z siecią LoraWAN oraz dostępne integracje do stworzenia panelu służącego do podglądu danych. Poprawne działanie czujnika potwierdzają przeprowadzone testy pozwalające określić czas pracy urządzenia na jednym naładowaniu akumulatora oraz zdolność do przetwarzania energii za pośrednictwem ogniwa fotowoltaicznego.
The aim of this article is to design and build a soil moisture sensor prototype for use in open fields.The made sensor allows to monitor changes in soil moisture at four depths, respectively: 5, 10, 15 and 20 cm.The sensor uses lora technologies to connect to the LoraWAN network and the available integrations to create a panel for data viewing.The correct operation of the sensor is confirmed by the tests that have been carried out to determine the operating time of the device on a single battery charge and the ability to convert energy via a photovoltaic cell.

W pracy przedstawiona została propozycja systemu IoT, którego celem jest ochrona domu przed zniszczeniami wynikającymi z ewentualnych awarii instalacji wodnej oraz wystąpienia ekstremalnych warunków atmosferycznych. W ramach systemu stworzona została infrastruktura elektroniczna oraz system informatyczny bazujący na metodach sztucznej inteligencji. Infrastruktura elektroniczna została zbudowana w oparciu o istniejące moduły platformy Arduino oraz Raspberry Pi.
The paper presents a proposal of an IoT system. The main goal is to protect the house against damage resulting from possible failures of the water installation and the occurrence of extreme weather conditions. As part of the system, an electronic infrastructure and an information system based on artificial intelligence methods have been created. The electronic infrastructure was built on the basis of the existing modules of the Arduino and Raspberry Pi platforms.

The proliferation of computer-oriented and information digitalisation technologies has become a hallmark across various sectors in today’s rapidly evolving environment. Among these, agriculture emerges as a pivotal sector in need of seamless incorporation of highperformance information technologies to address the pressing needs of national economies worldwide. The aim of the present article is to substantiate scientific and applied approaches to improving the efficiency of computer-oriented agrotechnical monitoring systems by developing an intelligent software component for predicting the probability of occurrence of corn diseases during the full cycle of its cultivation. The object of research is non-stationary processes of intelligent transformation and predictive analytics of soil and climatic data, which are factors of the occurrence and development of diseases in corn. The subject of the research is methods and explainable AI models of intelligent predictive analysis of measurement data on the soil and climatic condition of agricultural enterprises specialised in growing corn. The main scientific and practical effect of the research results is the development of IoT technologies for agrotechnical monitoring through the development of a computer-oriented model based on the ANFIS technique and the synthesis of structural and algorithmic provision for identifying and predicting the probability of occurrence of corn diseases during the full cycle of its cultivation.

IoT networks are so voluminous that they cannot be treated as individual devices, but as populations. Main aim of the paper is to create a comprehensive method for predicting failures taking device variance into consideration. We propose using data fusion of happenstance observations (resets and failures) to better estimate device parameters. We propose using methods of population analysis in Bayesian statistics to estimate failure times investigating only a part of the population. For this purpose, we use multilevel hierarchical Bayesian model and provide it with post stratification. We propose model assumptions, construct the model and evaluate it, and perform computations using Hamiltonian Monte Carlo. This method is known as the Bayesian workflow. We have analyzed three different models showing that, in case of small device variance, it can be ignored, or at least compensated, while significant differences require hierarchical modeling. We also show that hierarchical model shows significant robustness to a small amount of data. We have shown attractiveness of Bayesian approach to modeling failures of IoT devices. Ability to diagnose and tune models, and assure their computational fidelity is a great advantage of Bayesian workflow.

Cloud computing is a major pattern for large data storage and analytics. The combination of cloud computing and IoT can enable the resource sharing more efficiently than individually handling them. In distributed systems, the resources are termed as cloud services and handled in a centralized way. However, new challenges arise when integrating cloud for IoT. This paper presents the architecture for integrating of cloud computing for Internet of Things and its issues. Cloud computing has long been recognized as a paradigm for big data storage and analytics. The combination of cloud computing and IoT can enable ubiquitous sensing services and powerful processing of sensing data streams beyond the capability of individual “things”, thus stimulating innovations in both fields. With the trend going on in ubiquitous computing, everything is going to be connected to the Internet and its data will be used for various progressive purposes, creating not only information from it, but also, knowledge and even wisdom. Internet of Things (IoT) becoming so pervasive that it is becoming important to integrate it with cloud computing because of the amount of data IoT's could generate and their requirement to have the privilege of virtual resources utilization and storage capacity, but also, to make it possible to create more usefulness from the data generated by IoT's and develop smart applications for the users. For example, cloud platforms allow the sensing data to be stored and used intelligently for smart monitoring and actuation with the smart devices. Novel data fusion algorithms, machine learning methods, and artificial intelligence techniques can be implemented and run centralized or distributed on the cloud to achieve automated decision making. These will boost the development of new applications such as smart cities, grids, and transportation systems.

Recommender systems (RS) have emerged as a means of providing relevant content to users, whether in social networking, health, education, or elections. Furthermore, with the rapid development of cloud computing, Big Data, and the Internet of Things (IoT), the component of all this is that elections are controlled by open and accountable, neutral, and autonomous election management bodies. The use of technology in voting procedures can make them faster, more efficient, and less susceptible to security breaches. Technology can ensure the security of every vote, better and faster automatic counting and tallying, and much greater accuracy. The election data were combined by different websites and applications. In addition, it was interpreted using many recommendation algorithms such as Machine Learning Algorithms, Vector Representation Algorithms, Latent Factor Model Algorithms, and Neighbourhood Methods and shared with the election management bodies to provide appropriate recommendations. In this paper, we conduct a comparative study of the algorithms applied in the recommendations of Big Data architectures. The results show us that the K-NN model works best with an accuracy of 96%. In addition, we provided the best recommendation system is the hybrid recommendation combined by content-based filtering and collaborative filtering uses similarities between users and items.

Opis:
The necessity of a positioning service for various ground handling assets is key to improving airport performance. Reported in this article is a system named “Ground Eye”, designed to be a test of a possible implementation of the independent LTE-based communication system and GNSS-based location services. The test campaign used a total of nine prototype devices for a period of one month at Gdańsk airport (Poland). The main goal of this demonstration was to verify the possibility of using the GNSS/LTE system as a fast-deployment option in the airport environment, as well as to evaluate its positioning and communication capabilities in conjunction with React.JS/Deck.GL/Node.JS dedicated application. The test campaign verified that even with simple processing and relatively simple single-frequency measurements, multi-constellation GNSS receivers, it is possible to obtain location with precision reaching better than 2.5 metres. This precision should be good enough for all ground handling operations at modern airports, without the need for additional fixed infrastructure.

Celem pracy było stworzenie aplikacji mobilnej współpracującej z Raspberry Pi. Ma ona ułatwić opiekę nad dzieckiem, poprzez podgląd kamery i powiadomienia w razie hałasu w pokoju dziecka. Aplikacja mobilna została wykonana w środowisku Android Studio. System opiera sięo bezprzewodową komunikacjęWiFi, co pozwala na dostęp do danych z urządzenia w całym obszarze działania sieci lokalnej. Dane z urządzenia oraz baza użytkowników są przechowywane na serwerze Apache w bazie danych MySQL. Wykorzystano czujnik temperaturyi wilgotności, który pozwala na monitorowanie warunków panujących w pokoju dziecka oraz rozwój i integrację w świecie Internetu Rzeczy (ang. Internet of Things - IoT).
The aim of the work was to create a mobile application cooperating with Raspberry Pi. It is supposed to facilitate childcare by viewing the camera and notifying in case of noise. in the children's room. The mobile application was made in the Android Studio environment. The system is based on wireless Wi-Fi communication, which allows you to access data from the device in the whole area of operation of the local network. Data from the device and the user database are stored on the Apache server in the MySQL database. A temperature and humidity sensor has been used, which allows to monitor conditions in the child's room and to develop and integrate in the world of the Internet of Things (IoT).

Now a days, agriculture plays a vital role in Indian economy. Agriculture gets destroyed due to fewer numbers of workers and animal intrusions in the field. So, Agricultural lands are becoming plots. The main objective is to improve the sustainable agriculture by enhancing the technology using wireless sensor technology. Wireless sensor networks and IoT plays a major role in Smart agriculture. IoT attach the sensed values with the internet. WSN involves two levels of prediction such as climate and crop. Temperature, Humidity and pH sensors are used to obtain the characteristic data from the land. Based on temperature and humidity, climate is predicted using fuzzy rules. From the predicted climate and using pH value of the soil, the crop to be grown is predicted. The corresponding decisions sent to the respective land owner’s. The sensors are co-ordinated using the GPS and are connected to the base station in an ad-hoc network using WLAN.

The Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) MESH network technology gains popularity in low duty IoT systems. Its advantage is a low energy consumption that enables long lifetime of IoT systems. The paper proposes and evaluates new MRT management methods, i.e. exact and heuristic, that improves energy efficiency of BLEMESH network by minimizing the number of active relay nodes. The performed experiments confirm efficiency of the MRT methods resulting in significantly lower energy consumption of BLE MESH network.

The continuous development of production processes is currently observed in the fourth industrial revolution, where the key place is the digital transformation of production is known as Industry 4.0. The main technologies in the context of Industry 4.0 consist Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and Internet of Things (IoT), which create the capabili-ties needed for smart factories. Implementation of CPS solutions result in new possibilities creation – mainly in areas such as remote diagnosis, remote services, remote control, condition monitoring, etc. In this paper, authors indicated the im-portance of Cyber-Physical Systems in the process of the Industry 4.0 and the Smart Manufacturing development. Firstly, the basic information about Cyber-Physical Production Systems were outlined. Then, the alternative definitions and different authors view of the problem were discussed. Secondly, the conceptual model of Cybernetic Physical Production System was presented. Moreover, the case study of proposed solution implementation in the real manufacturing process was presented. The key stage of the verification concerned the obtained data analysis and results discussion.

Nagios and Icinga are very popular IT infrastructure monitoring systems. Several commercial systems are also based on or evaluated from them. The paper presents the experiences with Icinga in the Institute of Computer Science WUT. Practical usage revealed some system shortages related to many worthless plugins, configuration problems and the Icinga modules itself. They are addressed in this paper by some extensions developed towards deeper diagnostic analysis of the monitored systems and mobile and Internet of Things systems monitoring support.

In the Industrial Internet of Things, a wide variety of sensors are distributed all over the environment to monitor data collection, thereby allowing industrial processes to be monitored more efficiently. One of the fundamental goals of IIoT is to provide the highest level of reliability while simultaneously increasing network lifetime, reducing power consumption, and preventing delays. 6TiSCH is a popular communication standard relied upon in IIoT. The aim of the present study is to propose an inter-layer method that simultaneously considers network scheduling and routing processes based on TSCH and RPL approaches in multi-sink environments. The proposed method is intended to address the limitations of IIoT and meet the requirements of field-specific applications.

Digitization and automation are transforming traditional systems for monitoring and managing objects in exteriors. Innovative farms are gradually moving in livestock management systems from paper reporting to integrated, shared and autonomous services throughout the livestock live-cycle. Although autonomous monitoring is a reality today, the benefits of autonomous monitoring by unmanned aerial systems (UAVs) for animal identification and authentication do not lie in the herd itself, but in what aerial systems can offer when operated and managed in an integrated ecosystem. At present, UAVs are little used in the agro sector as a concept “mobility-as-a-service” (MaaS), because farmers themselves in the real environment are not able to respond flexibly to technological innovations and adapt to the demand for monitoring and providing authentic data in real-time to the subsidy payment system. The focus of the paper is the presentation of a procedure targeted on design of an objects monitoring system in exterior according to defined parameters with selected main and specific data; taking in the account predefined parameters at the same time, the requirements for technological means and software with the support of machine learning for livestock identification as well as composition of selected technical equipment using the IoT concept with unique beacons for subsequent data processing in the reliable authentication methodology of every monitored objects are defined.

Artykuł opisuje podstawowe zagadnienia sieciowe, modele warstwowe, protokoły internetowe, główne komponenty oraz integracje miedzy aplikacjami Spektrum oraz Performance Management firmy CA. Głównym celem badania było ukazanie mechanizmu, w jaki sposób Spectrum monitoruje konkretne zdarzenie zwiększenia zużycia pamięci RAM na urządzeniu Router 1, a następnie stworzenie raportu w aplikacji Performance Management w celu ukazania tego zdarzenia na wykresie. Skupiłem się na ukazaniu jak ważny jest monitoring urządzeń sieciowych w obecnym świecie informatyki, aby móc w porę rozwiązać zdarzenie, które potencjalnie może wskazywać usterkę na urządzeniu i przeciwdziałać występowaniu takich problemów w przyszłości.
The article describes basic network issues, layered models, Internet protocols, main components and integrations between Spectrum and Performance Management applications of CA. The main aim of the study was to show how Spectrum monitors a specific event of increased RAM consumption on Router 1 device, and then to create a report in the Performance Management application to show this event on a graph. I focused on showing how important it is to monitor network devices in the current IT world in order to be able to solve in ti- me an event that potentially indicates a malfunction on the device and counteract the occurrence of such problems in the future.

Background: There is an increasing use of automation, data processing and exchange, cyber-physical systems, Internet of things and cloud technology in industry. Modern factories undergo constant transformation, which has impact not only on the organization of manufacturing activities, but also on the functioning of supply chains. The model of contact with the end customer, who frequently moves into the virtual world, is changing, which directly translates to the formation of distribution channels. The occurring changes are referred to as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and we are its eyewitnesses. This paper explores the challenges for modern supply chains that arise as a result of the fourth industrial revolution. It attempts to answer the question to what extent the Industry 4.0 affects the organization of products and information flows in supply chains. Methods: The article makes use of the results of social research, whereas the applied research technique was a survey conducted among 122 supply chains. Moreover, the results of the research performed in 2015 by McKinsey in the form of an interview with 300 experts from production and service companies from USA, Japan and Germany were demonstrated. Additionally, the following 5 case studies were presented: Logistics Knapp AG, Nova Chemicals, BMW, Stratatys and Bosch. Results: One of the research results of the article is a review of the literature on the development of the supply chain concept, as well as on the development of industry, with particular focus on the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The article attempts to determine the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on the functioning of contemporary supply chains. On the basis of social research and case studies, conclusions are drawn about the significance of application of the assumptions of Industry 4.0, as well as about the concerns of companies and entire supply chains regarding the inevitable changes. Finally, a hypothetical supply chain using the assumptions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is presented on the example of a manufacturer of electric toothbrushes. Conclusions: On the basis of the collected examples and presented research, it can be concluded that the idea of Industry 4.0 is not foreign to contemporary companies and has an influence on the organization of physical and information flows in supply chains. Managers are aware of the changes occurring in the organization of production, procurement and distribution processes in the entire supply chains. However, they are concerned about transferring processes into the virtual world, due to data security issues and capacity of long-distance wireless networks.
Wstęp: W przemyśle ma miejsce coraz powszechniejsze wykorzystanie automatyzacji, przetwarzania i wymiany danych, systemów cyber-fizycznych, Internetu rzeczy i cloud technology. Nowoczesne fabryki ulegają ciągłej transformacji i wpływa to nie tylko na organizację działań wytwórczych, ale również na funkcjonowanie łańcuchów dostaw. Zmienia się model kontaktu z ostatecznym klientem, który często przenosi się w świat wirtualny, co bezpośrednio przekłada się na kształtowanie kanałów dystrybucji. Zachodzące zmiany nazwane są czwartą rewolucją przemysłową, a my jesteśmy jej naocznymi świadkami. W artykule tym przedłożone są wyzwania przed którymi stoją współczesne łańcuchy dostaw w wyniku czwartej rewolucji przemysłowej. Celem artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie w jakim stopniu czwarta rewolucja przemysłowa wywiera wpływ na organizację przepływów fizycznych i informacji w łańcuchach dostaw. Metody: W artykule wykorzystane są wyniki badania społecznego, a zastosowaną techniką badawczą jest ankieta przeprowadzona wśród 122 łańcuchów dostaw. Przedstawiono również wyniki badania przeprowadzonego w 2015 roku przez firmę McKinsey w formie wywiadu z 300-toma ekspertami z firm produkcyjnych i usługowych z USA, Japonii i Niemiec. Dodatkowo zaprezentowano 5 case studies: Logistics Knapp AG, Nova Chemicals, BMW, Stratatys oraz Bosch. Rezultaty: Jednym z rezultatów badawczych artykułu jest przegląd literatury z obszaru rozwoju koncepcji łańcucha dostaw oraz rozwoju przemysłu, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem czwartej rewolucji przemysłowej. W artykule podjęta jest próba określenia wpływu jaki czwarta rewolucja przemysłowa wywiera na funkcjonowanie współczesnych łańcuchów dostaw. Na bazie badań społecznych oraz case studies zostają wyciągnięte wnioski na temat istotności stosowania założeń Industry 4.0. oraz obaw przedsiębiorstw i całych łańcuchów dostaw dotyczących nieuniknionych zmian. Na koniec przedstawiony jest hipotetyczny łańcuch dostaw wykorzystujący założenia czwartej rewolucji przemysłowej na przykładzie producenta elektrycznych szczoteczek do zębów. Wnioski: Na bazie zgormadzonych przykładów i przedstawionych badań można stwierdzić, że pojęcie Industry 4.0. nie jest obce współczesnym przedsiębiorstwom i ma wpływ na organizację przepływów fizycznych i informacji w łańcuchach dostaw. Menedżerowie oni świadomi następujących zmian w organizacji procesów produkcyjnych, w zaopatrzeniu i dystrybucji w całym łańcuchu dostaw. Obawiają się jednak przeniesienia procesów w świat wirtualny, ze względu na bezpieczeństwo danych oraz przepustowość sieci bezprzewodowych dalekiego zasięgu.

Internet of Things (IoT) is an IT concept consisting in connecting material objects both together and to the internet. This term is complicated to define. Most people associate this term with smartphones or computers, but the world of IoT is definitely wider. IoT was used for the first time in 1999 by Kevin Ashton, who is an expert in technical solutions, but it took more than a decade for people to take this idea seriously. Currently, almost all of the elements surrounding us can be equipped with a chip that allows them to connect to the Internet. The idea of the IoT is that it should encompass all the items that can be connected to the global network. This article firstly discusses issues related to the low-power wide-area LoRaWAN network, which was created for the needs of communication with IoT. Next, the network architecture and its characteristic features are described, followed by a list of available transmission channels for individual regions and description of components of expressions allowing to select the transmission parameters for the application requirements. Next, the article describes practical implementation of IoT with the use of LoRaWAN standard on the example of a system for archiving impulse readings from gas meter index of a bellows gas meter. Finally, this article describes the construction of the device and the principle of its operation. Most importantly, the results of the test aimed at checking the correctness of data transmission from the pulse transmitter to the network server, proving the correct operation of the system, were given in this article. This article also presents an example of the implementation for the module built aimed at the optimization of gas consumption. The results of checking the maximum range of the system built were also given. This correctness of data transmission at a distance of 690 meters in urban areas and 915 meters in the area with single-family houses was found.

When observing the modern world, we can see the dynamic development of new technologies, among which a special place, both owing to the potential and the threats is occupiedby the Internet of Things which penetrates almost all areas of our life. It is assumed that the IoT technology makes our life easier, however, it poses many challenges concerning the protection of the security of information transmission and, therefore, our privacy. One of the main goals of the paper is to present a new unconventional arithmetic based onthe transcendental curve dedicated to the cryptographic systems that protect the transmission of short messages. The use of this arithmetic may develop the possibilities of protecting short sequences of data generated by devices with limited computational power. Examples of such devices include the ubiquitously used battery powered sensors, the task of which is to collectand transmit data which very often comprises concise information. Another goal is to present the possibility of using the developed arithmetic in cryptographic algorithms.

Wireless Sensor networks are widely adopt in military, target tracking, signal processing and monitoring applications like traffic and structural, the small and low cost unreliable sensor nodes in these applications uses batteries as the sole energy source. The energy efficiency becomes difficult task as the tiny and less weight battery act as source of each node. Scheduling the different category of data packets is a way to reduce the power consumption and increasing the lifetime of sensor nodes. The existing scheduling algorithms are not adapted to the environment changes. The basic FCFS (First Come First Serve) suffered by long delay while transmit the real time data packets. In DMP (Dynamic Multilevel Priority) real time data packets occupies highest priority, the remaining non real time data packets sent to lower priority level queues. Some real time task holds the resources for longer time, the other task have to wait, it makes the deadlock condition. The NJN (Nearest Job Next) will select the nearest requesting sensor node for service, real time packets have to wait long time. The proposed Adaptive weighted scheduling scheme changes the behavior of the network queue by adaptively changes the weights based on network traffic. Simulation results proof that, adaptive weighted scheduling algorithm works better than the FCFS and DMP data scheduling in terms of energy consumption and lifetime. Our future scheme to integrate Internet of Things (IoT) with the WSN to increase the performance of the wireless networks.

Optimization of 3GPP standards that apply to cellular technologies and their adaptation to LPWAN has not led to positive results only enabling to compete on the market with the growing number non-cellular greenfield LPWAN technologies – LoRa, Sigfox and others. The need to take into consideration, during the 3GPP standard optimization phase, the low-cost segment of narrow-band IoT devices relying on such new technologies as LTE-M, NB-IoT and EC-GSM, has also led to a loss of a number of technical characteristics and functions that offered low latency and guaranteed the quality of service. The aim of this article is therefore to review some of the most technical limitations and restrictions of the new 3GPP IoT technologies, as well as to indicate the direction for development of future standards applicable to cellular IoT technologies.

Opis:
One of the ways to improve calculations related to determining the position of a node in the IoT measurement system is to use artificial neural networks (ANN) to calculate coordinates. The method described in the article is based on the measurement of the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator), which value is then processed by the neural network. Hence, the proposed system works in two stages. In the first stage, RSSI coefficient samples are taken, and then the node location is determined on an ongoing basis. Coordinates anchor nodes (i.e. sensors with fixed and previously known positions) and the matrix of RSSI coefficients are used in the learning process of the neural network. Then the RSSI matrix determined for the system in which the nodes with unknown positions are located is fed into the neural network inputs. The result of the work is a system and algorithm that allows determining the location of the object without processing data separately in nodes with low computational performance.

This article provides a comparative analysis of modern data transmission technologies that can be used in modern automation and telemechanics systems for data exchange with various sensors and other security and access control systems. The authors describe the most common types of transmission networks and offer options for their application in relation to the requirements of specific customers. The main emphasis is on open source solutions that can be used in research projects on an unlicensed basis.
W artykule dokonano analizy porównawczej nowoczesnych technologii transmisji danych, które mogą znaleźć zastosowanie w nowoczesnych systemach automatyki i telemechaniki do wymiany danych z różnymi czujnikami i innymi systemami bezpieczeństwa i kontroli dostępu. Autorzy opisują najczęściej spotykane typy sieci przesyłowych i proponują możliwości ich zastosowania w odniesieniu do wymagań konkretnych klientów. Główny nacisk kładzie się na rozwiązania open source, które mogą być wykorzystywane w projektach badawczych bez licencji.

Modern cities face many challenges related to globalisation, metropolisation and digitalisation. The smart city concept, which has been gaining popularity in recent years, is considered an answer to their needs. One of the paradigms of modern smart cities is the Internet of Things. This article aims to identify the main research directions and trends in the scientific literature in the field of Internet-of-Things-based smart cities. The author of the paper conducted a bibliometric analysis of publications from 2012–2021, collected from the Web of Science, Scopus and IEEE Xplore databases. The methodology includes: (i) the selection of databases and key words, (ii) defining search criteria, (iii) data export, creation of an aggregate database and record selection, and (iv) the analysis of the results and identification of the major research trends. The study involved 1019 publications. The last stage of the research process identified the leading countries, institutions, journals, and authors in terms of publication activity, as well as the most frequently occurring terms. The key word analysis allowed identifying five main research directions: IoT application domains in smart cities, IoT architecture for smart cities, energy, security and privacy and data. Within each area, the main research themes have been identified, and selected publications have been reviewed.

Aim/purpose – Increasing importance of quantified self along with the number of available wearable devices create base for excitement among those perceiving technology as a catalyst for change. Despite multiple theories, in vain is to search for a model that would be suitable to visualise the adoption of wearables. The objective of this study is to recognise factors influencing the adoption of smart wearable devices and measure the strength of relationships between identified variables and dependent factor. Design/methodology/approach – A proposed research model was developed and tested, based on an analysis of 108 survey insights from existing and potential users of smart wearable devices. With Dubai claiming itself ‘the smartest city worldwide’, research was purposely focused on this city, with insights collected during 37th GITEX (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) Technology Week (8-12 October 2017), in Dubai. Statistical analysis, with the use of Adanco 2.0.1 software, was conducted and as a result, structural equation modelling was proposed. Findings – The study shows clearly the growing importance of the wearables trend and consumers’ willingness to possess the same. Based on the conducted literature analysis, factors playing critical role, like Product Attributes (PA), Perceived Ease of Use (PE) and Perceived Usefulness (PU), were identified along with the gaps pertaining to the adoption of smart wearable devices in Dubai. Research implications/limitations – The outputs of the conducted research provide practical guidance for solution/technology/product makers as well as sales representatives, to mould and pitch the product in a more effective manner. Due to time and financial constraints, study lacks conducted in-depth expert reviews, focus groups and laboratory experiment for real-time experience with existing/planned products. The limited sample size (108 respondents) and lack of possibility to generalise on the population, due to sampling by convenience are other points of improvements for future research. Originality/value/contribution – The study bridges the literature gap, providing quantitative analysis and overview of factors impacting on the adoption of wearable devices, based on the Theory of Reasoned Action, the Theory of Planned Behaviour and the Technology Acceptance Model. Moreover, constructed on achieved results, it proposes a new sequential multi-method approach model of technology adoption, based on researched factors such as Perceived Usefulness and Attitude towards smart wearable devices, influenced by Perceived Ease of Use and Perception towards new technology. Opis:
Cases of heavy traffic congestion (commonly referred to as traffic jams) have negative influences on the economy, public health, and social life. This makes it important to assist drivers in these situations with Internet of Things (IoT) systems. The aim of this article is to present a low-cost device that supports driving in traffic jams. The system, which is based on data from a laser sensor with a range of up to 40 m, controls the distances to vehicles in front of and behind a moving car. Through audio and video signals, it warns the driver whether the vehicle in front of or behind the equipped vehicle is too close. This allows the driver to control the distance and avoid minor collisions.

The integration of the internet of things (IoT) and cyber physical network into the battery charging station system is critical to the success and long-term viability of the vehicle to grid (V2G) trend for future automobiles in terms of environmental and energy sustainability. The goal of this article is to create a V2G battery charging station concept using the internet of things (IoT) and a cyber physical network system. The V2G charging station concept was developed with the idea that every charging electric vehicle (EV) can communicate and coordinate with the charging station's control center, which includes a cyber physical system that addresses privacy and security concerns. The communication protocol must also be considered by the charging station. The preliminary test has been taken into consideration. Normal hours (for case one), peak hours (for case two), and valley hours (for case three), respectively, were created as charging circumstances for EVs at charging stations. Simulations were run for each of the three case scenarios. Each EV's battery state of charge (SoC) is provided a 50 percent initial charge and user-defined SoC restrictions. The MATLAB/SIMULINK platform was used to run the case simulations. The grid frequency, charging station output power, and the EV's battery SoC were all observed during the 24- hour simulation. As a result, the developed V2G charging station concept can regulate its input and output power depending on the battery status of the EVs inside the charging station, as well as provide frequency regulation service to the grid while meeting the energy demand of EV customers.

Opis:
An important element of Internet of Things systems (IoT) is wireless data transmission. Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) and LTE Cat M1 (LTE-M) are the new standards for such transmission intended for LTE cellular networks. Cellular network operators has recently launched such transmission. The article presents the results of measurements of NB-IoT transmission parameters in this network, inside the building and in open urban areas. The main features of the NB-IoT system and measuring equipment are briefly discussed.

This paper presents the results of experimental research focused on wave energy harvesting and its conversion to power Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The harvesting and conversion process was performed using a wave energy converter (WEC) consisting of a lead zirconate titanate piezoelectric ceramic perovskite material and a prototype power electronic circuit. The designed WEC was considered as a power supply for an end node device (END) of an IoT network. The END consisted of a long-range radio module and an electronic paper display. A set of physical experiments were carried out, and the results confirmed that an energy surplus was supplied by WEC compared to the energy consumed by the END. Hence, the proposed scheme was experimentally validated as a convenient solution that could enable the autonomous operation of an IoT device. The use case presented here for the proposed WEC was analysed for selected sea areas on the basis of wave statistics. The novelty of this paper arises from an investigation that confirms that WECs can significantly contribute to the development of wireless and mobile IoT communication powered by freely available sea wave energy.

W pracy przedstawiono model symulacyjny sieci sensorowej oraz IoT, będące podstawą dla budowy symulatora SenseSim. Pozwala on na zbudowanie heterogenicznej sieci (lub wielu sieci), której sensory obserwują zmieniające się w czasie zjawiska. Zaletami proponowanego modelu są: możliwość szerokiej konfiguracji węzłów, które posiadać mogą wiele zdolności do obserwacji środowiska, oraz łatwa konfigurowalność algorytmów trasowania i komunikacji bezprzewodowej. Symulator zbudowany w oparciu o przedstawiony model będzie również umożliwiał modyfikację zachowania sensorów poprzez ich makroprogramowanie. Dodatkowo proponowane jest rozszerzenie symulatora o modelowanie wielorozdzielcze.
The paper presents a simulation model of both sensor network and IoT as a base for the simulator SenseSim. SenseSim allows one to build a heterogeneous network (or networks), whose sensors observe the time-varying phenomena. The advantages of the proposed model are: the possibility of a wide configuration of nodes that can have a lot of capacity for environmental monitoring and easy configurability of both routing algorithms and wireless communications. The simulator built on the presented model will also allows one to modify the behavior of sensors through their macroprogramming. In addition, it is proposed to extend the simulator for multiresolution modelling.

Device-to-device (D2D) communications in 5G networks will provide greater coverage, as devices will be acting as users or relays without any intermediate nodes. However, this arrangement poses specific security issues, such as rogue relays, and is susceptible to various types of attacks (impersonation, eavesdropping, denial-of-service), due to the fact that communication occurs directly. It is also recommended to send fewer control messages, due to authenticity- and secrecy related prevailing requirements in such scenarios. Issues related to IoT applications need to be taken into consideration as well, as IoT networks are inherently resource-constrained and susceptible to various attacks. Therefore, novel signcryption algorithms which combine encryption with digital signatures are required to provide secure 5G IoT D2D communication scenarios in order to protect user information and their data against attacks, without simultaneously increasing communication costs. In this paper, we propose LEES, a secure authentication scheme using public key encryption for secure D2D communications in 5G IoT networks. This lightweight solution is a hybrid of elliptic curve ElGamal-Schnorr algorithms. The proposed scheme is characterized by low requirements concerning computation cost, storage and network bandwidth, and is immune to security threats, thus meeting confidentiality, authenticity, integrity and non-repudiation-related criteria that are so critical for digital signature schemes. It may be used in any 5G IoT architectures requiring enhanced D2D security and performance.

Recent trends in manufacturing such as Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing have brought the researchers' attention to the smart intralogistics in production facilities. Automated guided vehicles (AGV), especially mobile robots play a vital role in this development. On the other hand, industrial internet technologies offered new possibilities for the information exchange between devices, data integration platforms and communication interfaces to advance and facilitate the intralogistics for effective material handling and transportation. In order to analyse the feasibility and effectiveness of the mobile robots in the production area, 3D visualization should be combined with simulation, which provides a comprehensive possibility to evaluate and review the potential solution performance and its consistency before implementing practically into the production floor area. This paper describes a conceptual model based on 3D visualization and simulation and experimental study which help to make the decision according to the input data from the factory environment of the movement of mobile robots in production logistics. Moreover, the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are defined to analyse the use-case's process improvement in terms of the time reduction, which leads to increase productivity and cut-down the workers' fatigue.

The protection of information that reside in smart devices like IoT nodes is becoming one of the main concern in modern design. The possibility to mount a non-invasive attack with no expensive equipment, such as a Power Analysis Attack (PAA), remarks the needs of countermeasures that aims to thwart attacks exploiting power consumption. In addition to that, designers have to deal with demanding requirements, since those smart devices require stringent area and energy constraints. In this work, a novel analog-level approach to counteract PAA is presented, taking benefits of the current-mode approach. The kernel of this approach is that the information leakage exploited in a PAA is leaked through current absorption of a cryptographic device. Thanks to an on-chip measuring of the current absorbed by the cryptographic logic, it is possible to generate an error signal. Throughout a current-mode feedback mechanism, the data-dependent component of the overall consumption can be compensated, making the energy requirement constant at any cycle and thwarting the possibility to recover sensible information. Two possible implementations of the proposed approach are presented in this work and their effectiveness has been evaluated using a 40nm CMOS design library. The proposed approach is able to increase the Measurements to Disclosure (MTD) of at least three orders of magnitude, comparing to the unprotected implementation. It has to be pointed out that the on-chip current-mode suppressor, based on the proposed approach, is able to provide a very good security performance, while requiring a very small overhead in terms of silicon area (xl.007) and power consumption (xl.07).

In this paper, the secure low-power Internet of Things (IoT) transmission methods for encryption and digital signature are presented. The main goal was to develop energyefficient method to provide IoT devices with data confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity. The cryptograph energy efficient and security algorithms modifications for IoT domain were made. The novelty in our solution is the usage of encryption method popular in the image processing in the domain of the Internet of Things. Proposed modification improves immunity for the brute-force and plain-text attacks. Furthermore, we propose the modifications for hash calculation method to transform it into digital signature calculation method that is very sensitive to input parameters. The results indicate low energy consumption of both methods, however it varies significantly depending on the architecture of the devices.

In this paper, we describe secure gateway for Internet of Things (IoT) devices with internal AAA mechanism, implemented to connect IoT sensors with Internet users. Secure gateway described in this paper allows to (1) authenticate each connected device, (2) authorise connection or reconguration performed by the device and (3) account each action. The same applies to Internet users who want to connect, download data from or upload data to an IoT device. Secure Gateway with internal AAA mechanism could be used in Smart Cities environments and in other IoT deployments where security is a critical concern. The mechanism presented in this paper is a new concept and has been practically validated in Polish national research network PL-LAB2020.

Rozwój rynku IoT w Polsce może stać się czynnikiem upowszechniającym monitoring środowiska naturalnego i zwiększającym automatyzację tego działania. Pomiary wykonywane obecnie albo z użyciem zobrazowań niskorozdzielczych (dane satelitarne), albo punktowych (in situ) są obarczone błędami wynikającymi ze zbyt małej szczegółowości danych lub niskich rozdzielczości czasowych. Często kampanie pomiarowe są czasochłonne i generują wysokie koszty. Od wielu lat, zarówno w Europie, jak i w Ameryce Północnej, prowadzone są badania mające na celu umożliwienie użycia sensorów umiejscowionych na kolejowych platformach mobilnych (lokomotywy, wagony) w monitoringu środowiskowym. W publikacji przedstawiamy możliwość implementacji sensorów akustycznych, obrazowych oraz skaningu laserowego. Przedstawiamy przykłady zastosowań oraz odpowiadamy na pytanie o możliwość ich implementacji w Polsce.
The development of the IoT market in Poland may become a factor that propagates the monitoring of the natural environment and increases the automation of it. Measurements performed currently either using low-resolution images (satellite data) or locally (in situ) are burdened with errors due to insufficient data detail or low time resolutions. Often, measurement campaigns are timeconsuming and generate high costs. For many years, both in Europe and North America, research has been carried out to enable the use of sensors located on railway mobile platforms (locomotives, carriages) in environmental monitoring. The publication presents the possibility of implementing acoustic and image sensors as well as laser scanning. We present examples of applications and answer the question about the possibility of their implementation in Poland.

The evolution of hypermedia space and growing saturation of the market with mobile devices, an increasing role of Big Data, which allow for multidimensional analysis of data from offline and online markets, growing popularization of solutions of Market Intelligence supported by Cloud Computing technology as wells development of potential and opportunities of adapting the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) in commerce cause that customers and their experience become a major point of activity of companies/brands. Shopping experience of a buyer is an effect of multiple and multidimensional contacts, often conducted simultaneously in many channels and in the real time. It forces an increasingly growing number of challenges that companies/brands are presented with if they want to optimize a space of customer journey and have to ensure continuity, coherence and complexity of experiences for their customers. Searching or creating these benefits that customers expect and their constant development becomes a prerequisite in this situation so that variety of positive experiences resulting in customer satisfaction and happiness could be guaranteed. The paper is an attempt to verify the essence of omnichannel commerce from the consumer’s perspective. The author discusses a problem of omnichannel model while taking into consideration some elements that can influence building and intensification of buyers’ experiences and behavior in various channels of commerce. The discussion is supported with the results of own studies in that area.

Shopping experience nabywcy jest efektem jego wielokrotnych i wielopłaszczyznowych kontaktów, często realizowanych jednocześnie w wielu kanałach i w czasie rzeczywistym. Wymusza to coraz większe wyzwania stawiane przed firmami/markami, które chcąc optymalizować przestrzeń customer journey muszą zapewnić swoim konsumentem ciągłość, spójność i kompleksowość doświadczeń. Warunkiem koniecznym staje się poszukiwanie i/lub kreowanie tych korzyści, których realnie konsument oczekuje oraz ich ciągły rozwój, tak by zagwarantować mu różnorodność pozytywnych doznań prowadzących do jego zadowolenia i satysfakcji. W artykule podjęto próbę zweryfikowania istoty omnichannel commerce z perspektywy konsumenta. Omówiono w nim problematykę wielokanałowości, z uwzględnieniem tych elementów, które mogą mieć wpływ na budowanie i intensyfikację doświadczeń i zachowań nabywców w różnych kanałach handlu. Prowadzone rozważania zostały poparte wynikami badań własnych w omawianym zakresie.

It is advisable to increase user awareness of the dangers of owning and using unsecured devices as well as provide access to information about vulnerabilities. Ideally, we would like to have a single source where information about vulnerabilities and exploits related to IoT devices would be collected, aggregated and correlated. Among other things, the article presents various sources of actionable information as well as an open repository that presents information about vulnerabilities and exploits in an accessible way.

Rozwój technologiczny cywilizacyjnej czołówki postępuje obecnie bardzo szybko. Przynosi ewidentne korzyści i wzrost jakości życia, lecz zarazem zmienia sposób interakcji człowieka z otoczeniem i w niespotykanym dotąd stopniu uzależnia go od rosnącej ilości otaczających go urządzeń. Oprócz korzyści musi to powodować nieznane dotąd, nowego typu zagrożenia. Każde narzędzie może w niepowołanych rękach stać się bronią. Co więcej, cywilne zastosowania wielu współczesnych technologii są w istocie wtórne względem ich pierwotnego, wojennego przeznaczenia. Fakt ten skłania wielu ludzi do nieprzemyślanego, a w każdym razie nieprecyzyjnego sądu, iż to wojnom zawdzięcza ludzkość postęp.

Celem artykułu była próba ustalenia, jak przedstawiciele różnych pokoleń postrzegają Internet Rzeczy (IoT) w zastosowaniach konsumenckich oraz czy pomimo wzrostu popularności aplikacji IoT różnice międzypokoleniowe w zakresie percepcji technologii i urządzeń Internetu Rzeczy są istotne. Międzypokoleniową analizę komparatywną przeprowadzono na podstawie własnego badania, zrealizowanego za pomocą ankiety internetowej (CAWI), na próbie 241 respondentów. W świetle uzyskanych wyników nie potwierdzono hipotezy zakładającej, iż przedstawiciele poszczególnych generacji różnią się istotnie w zakresie postrzegania użyteczności urządzeń Internetu Rzeczy w zastosowaniach konsumenckich. Nie potwierdzono także wpływu wieku jako zmiennej różnicującej postrzeganie możliwości zastosowania Internetu Rzeczy w różnych sektorach gospodarki.

IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Networks (RPL) is a popular routing protocol used in wireless sensor networks and in the Internet of Things (IoT). RPL was standardized by the IETF in 2012 and has been designed for devices with limited resources and capabilities. Open-source RPL implementations are supported by popular IoT operating systems (OS), such as ContikiOS and TinyOS. In this work, we investigate the possibility of battery drain Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks in the RPL implementation of ContikiOS. In particular, we use the popular Cooja simulator and implement two types of DoS attacks, particularly version number modification and “Hello” flooding. We demonstrate the impact of these attacks on the power consumption of IoT devices. Finally, we discuss potential defenses relying on distributed intrusion detection modules.

Internet of Things (IoT) affects different areas of human activities: everyday life of ordinary citizens, work style of marketing teams, factories and even entire cities. Large companies try to implement the technology in their marketing strategy that reshapes not only communication style and product promotion but consumers’ expectations, perceptions and requirements towards companies. IoT is expected to become a huge network that will encompass not only smart devices but significantly influence humans’ behavior, in this particular case – decision making style in different phases of purchase process. Therefore, the need for comprehensive scientific research is necessary. The issue needs to be reviewed from various points of view, such as opportunities, advantages, disadvantages, legal and technical considerations. The paper is an attempt to review different aspects of using Internet of Things for marketing purposes, identify some of the major problems and present possible ways of solution.
Rzeczy (ang. Internet of Things) wpływa na różne obszary działalności człowieka: życie codzienne zwykłych obywateli, styl pracy zespołów marketingowych, fabryk, a nawet całych miast. Duże firmy starają się wdrożyć tę technologię w swojej strategii marketingowej, która przekształca nie tylko styl komunikacji i promocji produktów, ale również oczekiwania, wyobrażenia konsumentów i wymagania wobec firm. Zapowiada się na to, że Internet rzeczy może stać się ogromną siecią, która obejmie nie tylko inteligentne urządzenia, ale będzie mogła również istotnie wpływać na zachowanie ludzi – w analizowanym w artykule przypadku – wpływać na podejmowanie decyzji w różnych fazach procesu zakupowego. W związku z tym powstaje zapotrzebowanie na kompleksowe badania naukowe obejmujące zagadnienia dot. Internetu Rzeczy. Zagadnienie to powinno zostać zweryfikowane z różnych punktów widzenia oraz dotyczyć kwestii takich jak: możliwości wykorzystania tej technologii, jej zalety oraz wady, uwarunkowania prawne i techniczne. Referat zawiera przegląd różnych aspektów związanych z korzystaniem z technologii Internetu rzeczy w celach marketingowych, identyfikację głównych problemów związanych z ich użytkowaniem i możliwych obecnie sposobów ich rozwiązania.

This paper proposes an advanced Internet of Things (IoT) system for measuring, monitoring, and recording some power quality (PQ) parameters. The proposed systemis designed and developed for both hardware and software. For the hardware unit, three PZEM-004T modules with non-invasive current transformer (CT) sensors are used tomeasure the PQ parameters and an Arduino WeMos D1 R1 ESP8266 microcontroller isused to receive data from the sensors and send this data to the server via the internet. For the software unit, an algorithm using Matlab software is developed to send measurement datato the ThingSpeak cloud. The proposed system can monitor and analyse the PQ parameters including frequency, root mean square (RMS) voltage, RMS current, active power, and the power factor of a low-voltage load in real-time. These PQ parameters can be stored on theThingSpeak cloud during the monitoring period; hence the standard deviation in statistics of the voltage and frequency is applied to analyse and evaluate PQ at the monitoring point.The experimental tests are carried out on low-voltage networks 380/220 V. The obtained results show that the proposed system can be usefully applied for monitoring and analysing chosen PQ parameters in micro-grid solutions.

The main purpose of the work was to analyze sensory platform solutions for use on the Internet of Things. Emphasis was placed on the literature study on Sensor Platforms, Internet of Things, Bluetooth Low Energy Communication Protocol, serial digital and analog interfaces most commonly used in sensory platforms. Analysis of sensory platform solutions was carried out in terms of their functionality and efficiency. The SensorTag CC2650 sensing platform by Texas Instruments, turned out to be the best and has been used to build the hub model. The hub model was based on hardware and software implementation, which resulted in the expansion of the sensor platform with 6 additional analog inputs and a Bluetooth Low Energy data transmission profile. Testing the correctness of the software produced in the laboratory environment has made it possible to determine the correct functioning of the concentrator model.
Głównym celem pracy była analiza rozwiązań platform sensorycznych do zastosowania w Internecie Rzeczy. Nacisk położony został na studium literaturowe dotyczące platform sensorycznych, Internetu Rzeczy, protokołu komunikacyjnego Bluetooth w standardzie Low Energy, szeregowych interfejsów cyfrowych oraz analogowych najczęściej stosowanych w platformach sensorycznych. Analiza rozwiązań platform sensorycznych przeprowadzona była pod kątem ich funkcjonalności oraz wydajności. Najlepszą okazała się platforma sensoryczna SensorTag CC2650, firmy Texas Instruments, którą wykorzystano do budowy modelu koncentratora. Wykonanie modelu koncentratora opierało się na realizacji sprzętowej oraz programowej, którego efektem było rozszerzenie platformy sensorycznej o 6 dodatkowych wejść analogowych oraz profil transmisji danych w standardzie Bluetooth Low Energy. Testowanie poprawności działania wytworzonego oprogramowania w środowisku laboratoryjnym pozwoliło na stwierdzenie poprawności działania modelu koncentratora.

Celem głównym artykułu jest przedstawienie szans i wyzwań wynikających z wdrożenia Internetu Rzeczy w rolnictwie jako sposobu zarządzania produkcją rolną w ujęciu mikro- i makroekonomicznym. Opracowanie przygotowano w oparciu o artykuły naukowe, raporty krajowe i zagraniczne publikowane przez instytucje publiczne oraz źródła internetowe. Ze względu na dynamiczny rozwój obszarów technologicznych przedmiotowe badanie bazowało głównie na danych statystycznych dotyczących okresu 2017-2022. W ramach badania podjęto próbę identyfikacji kluczowych barier stojących na drodze do skutecznej cyfryzacji branży rolnej wynikających z aspektów demograficznych, kompetencyjnych, a także zakresu obecnie stosowanej technologii i oprogramowania w rolnictwie. Przedstawionego obrazu dopełnia analiza celów określonych przez Unię Europejską w zakresie Zielonego Ładu.

In this paper a novel multi-factor authentication protocol for IoT applications, relying on enhanced Rabinassisted elliptic curve cryptography, biometric features and time stamping methods, is developed. Furthermore, a fuzzy verification algorithm has been developed to perform receiverlevel user verification, making computation efficient in terms of computational overhead as well as latency. An NS2 simulation-based performance assessment has revealed that the multifactor authentication and key management models we have proposed are capable of not only avoiding security breaches, such as smart card loss (SCLA) and impersonation attacks, but can also ensure the provision of maximum possible QoS levels by offering higher packet delivery and minimum latency rates.
