One of the main tasks of education is the appropriate motivation of students. The authors present their investigations in the field of learning motivation, which are the elements of significant research; they examine how differentiated education affects learning features. They apply pilot and control groups to follow the effect of differentiated development over the years. One can directly apply their research results into educational practice. This present study focuses on motivation, which is one of the constituents of this research sequence. For the development of these areas, the authors looked for tools that can be used when working with 10-14 year old students, which help to motivate them and raise their interest. The authors raise the issue how and in what manner digital tools are suitable for the motivation.

Conducting informatic projects requires the application of modern solutions that streamline workflow. Current projects are becoming more complicated, during their implementation, large amounts of data and information are generated. In addition, in many external sources we can find data and information of the various forms and levels of detail. To get from this data a valuable knowledge, it is necessary to use new data analysis techniques and new technological solutions. The article sets out to present a dissertation of considerations for IT projects and the steps of IT project were highlighted with areas and IT tools that support their implementation. The aim of this article is to assess the current level of use of IT tools by the companies considered as leaders, at various stages of IT projects implementation. The authors also rated the intensity of IT tools usage in various areas of project execution. The paper includes results of research conducted, and can serve as a guideline for enterprises developing IT tools intended to streamline informatic projects. The contents of the dissertation are based on literature studies and empirical research.

Nowadays, the rapid development of Information Technologies in several fields of socio-economic activity can be observed. High-tech companies develop or implement IT solutions in numerous areas, including employee management. In the studied high-tech enterprise, the IT solutions are used in order to facilitate employee management in recruitment and selection, development and training, evaluation, motivation, talent management and personnel-related services. The company implemented an integrated employee management system. This enabled data integration and improvement of employee management. Owing to the implementation of the tools, the company improve work efficiency in the course of procedures being standardized.

The success of projects in enterprises and the success of an entire organization’s business largely depend on the possession and efficient use of the relevant information. In a broader context, success depends on having the adequate knowledge at the right time and place. Business processes generate large amount of data that are collected and processed in a way enabling transforming data into a measurable and useful value, which is information. Its efficient usage streamlines business processes, and allows to respond quickly to changes and proper decision-making. The aim of the paper is to present and define the project management challenges and ideas of Business Intelligence and Big Data systems. The types of analysis available in both platforms are also discussed. In the paper, the authors try to identify the areas of project management that can benefit from Business Intelligence and Big Data analysis.

Kadra kierownicza, reprezentująca organizacje biorące udział w konkursie „Lider Zarządzania Zasobami Ludzkimi”, jest przekonana, że stawiając na permanentne doskonalenie obszaru zarządzania ludźmi, może lepiej sobie radzić w wysoce konkurencyjnym środowisku zglobalizowanej gospodarki. Dlatego w sposób ciągły podnosi jakość ZZL. Konkurs ma już dziesięcioletnią tradycję. W tym okresie wiele organizacji – dużych i małych – weryfikowało w konkursowej procedurze swoje dokonania na polu ZZL. Pozwoliło to badaczom śledzić główne kierunki zmian w tym zakresie w praktyce firm i instytucji, które mierzą wysoko. Korzystając z doświadczeń konkursowych, omówiono w komunikacie główne tendencje w zakresie nowoczesnego ujęcia ZZL w polskich organizacjach.
The managements representing organizations taking part in the HRM Leader Competition are convinced that emphasis on the continuous improvement in the realm of human management promotes success in the highly competitive environment of the globalize economy. For this reason they incessantly work on improving HRM quality. The competition has a decade-long tradition. Over this period many organizations, both large and small, have verified their achievements in the field of HRM through the competition procedures. This gave researchers the opportunity to track the main change trends in the HRM practices of companies and institutions with high aims. This paper draws on the experiences provided by the competition to discuss the main trends in a modern approach to HRM.

Opis:
The degree and extent to which the concept of knowledge management is used in travel agencies may be the determining factor in the possibilities of obtaining a competitive advantage and thus in the development prospects of this group of tourist enterprises. The main research issue in the article is the use of the concept of knowledge management in travel agencies. The article shows the extent of the use of this concept among tour operators from the Opole province. The first part of the paper presents the process of knowledge management and characterizes IT tools for creating, codification and transfer of knowledge. In the second part a brief description of the travel agency as an entity of the tourist economy is provided. The third part presents the results of the survey. In the last section summary and conclusions are described. In the paper two main methods of research were used: documentary method and the method of diagnostic survey. After the inventory of travel agencies located in the Opole province, a diagnostic survey was conducted regarding the scope of the use of knowledge management. Survey research was conducted in January 2015 among owners or managers of 28 travel agencies located in the Opole province. The majority of the respondents said that in their companies this concept is applicable. The most commonly used knowledge management processes are: the use, preservation and acquisition of knowledge, and tools for supporting these processes: documentation management systems and workflow systems.

The article presents the authors’ insights into the tax technology tools used by the Polish tax administration, such as artificial intelligence, algorithms, big data analysis, and other technological solutions to support enforcing tax compliance and prevent fraudulent actions. Without the implementation of these modern tax technologies such spectacular reduction of VAT gap in Poland, reconfirmed recently by the European Commission, would not be possible. Special attention is given to the Polish version of SAF-T and split payment method as crucial tools for detection of tax irregularities. In the second part of the article the authors present, inter alia, the unique Polish Clearing House System STIR which is a system used to process data provided by banks and credit unions with the use of specific algorithms.

The article describes some preliminary results of the implementation of Work-Package 4 (WP4) “Selection and testing new IT tools” in the framework of the international research network (IRNet) and researchers from partner institutions from Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, and Australia. These results concern analysis and study of some categories of IT tools for making multimedia presentation. All the package period has been divided into 5 main stages. The role of multimedia in teaching is considerable as it offers various formats of presenting information simultaneously. The combination of text, audio, images, animation, video, as well as hyperlinks has an advantage of using both of the two main channels – visual and verbal – for presentation in an efficient way. This paper also discusses the features of effective presentation and examples of computer programs which may be used for this purpose. Authors presented a ranking list based on quality and quantity assessment of chosen IT tools and they proposed some characteristics of good presentation as well as they analyzed frequent mistakes made by users elaborating presentations.

The article provides a discussion on a concept of using the matrix calculus for purposes of planning and controlling of operating costs. The opening paragraphs of the paper describe creating a plan of costs for an enterprise perceived as a series of interlinked components whose mutual relations are represented in corresponding matrices. Further sections of the article are focused on an analysis of the deviations emerging while planned costs are being compared with the reported actual costs. Different types of deviations comprising the total deviation have been identified. It is possible to determine these deviations based on the data contained in matrices used at the planning stage as well as with reference to appropriate real-life data acquired. For individual groups of deviations, the manner in which they can be determined has been explained. The final paragraphs of the article address potential applications of spreadsheets, both in creating the plan of costs and for purposes of its subsequent controlling.
W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję wykorzystania rachunku macierzowego w zakresie planowania i kontroli kosztów operacyjnych. W pierwszej kolejności w opracowaniu omówione zostało tworzenie planu kosztów dla przedsiębiorstwa traktowanego jako ciąg powiązanych komponentów, których wzajemne powiązania są ujmowane w postaci odpowiednich macierzy. W dalszej części artykułu skupiono się na analizie odchyleń występujących podczas porównania kosztów planowanych z zarejestrowanymi kosztami rzeczywistymi. Zidentyfikowano różne rodzaje odchyleń składających się na odchylenie całkowite. Odchylenia te są możliwe do ustalenia na podstawie danych zawartych w macierzach wykorzystywanych na etapie planowania oraz na podstawie odpowiednich zgromadzonych danych rzeczywistych. Dla poszczególnych grup odchyleń przedstawiono sposób ustalenia ich wartości. W końcowej części artykułu omówiono możliwość wykorzystania arkuszy kalkulacyjnych zarówno w zakresie tworzenia planu kosztów, jak i jego późniejszej kontroli.

W artykule zaprezentowana została tematyka narzędzi informatycznych, które mogą wspomagać naukowców w ich codziennej pracy badawczej i edytorskiej. Wielu pracowników naukowych korzysta z różnych nowoczesnych narzędzi, prowadząc badania (głównie w naukach technicznych). Coraz częściej jednak po nowoczesne rozwiązania sięgają przedstawiciele grupy nauk społecznych, w tym pedagogiki. W pierwszej części artykułu zaprezentowane zostało zagadnienie ankiet internetowych, czyli tzw. metody CAWI i zastosowania jej w naukach społecznych. Druga część natomiast odnosi się do menedżerów bibliografii, prezentując ich walory wykorzystania przez różne grupy osób.
The aim of these article is a presentation of different kind of IT tools which can support scientists in their everyday research (work). Many researchers use a variety of modern IT tools in their work (mainly in technical science). However, the modern solutions are chosen by the representatives of the social science more often nowadays. First part of the article presents the problem of online surveys ie. CAWI and its application in the social science. The second part of article concerns the reference managers and their values used by different kind of researchers.

Ważną kwestią dla rozwoju przedsiębiorstw jest również umiejętność i możliwość wykorzystania zdobyczy współczesnych technologii oraz zastosowania ich w procesach zarządzania organizacją W artykule poruszono zagadnienia dotyczące znaczenia wykorzystania narzędzi informatycznych w zarządzaniu, zwracając szczególną uwagę na bariery ich wprowadzania w małych i średnich przedsiębiorstwach. Wnioski w tym zakresie wyciągnięte zostały na podstawie analizy danych statystycznych GUS, dotyczących wykorzystania technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych w przedsiębiorstwach. Posłużono się również studium przypadku do oceny poziomu wykorzystania narzędzi informatycznych w przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym oraz identyfikacji barier w tym zakresie.
The progress in the area of information technologies seen in the contemporary world raises questions about the future shape of management and to what extent the work of executives will be assisted and replaced by IT tools facilitating design of appropriate strategies and taking of the most rational decisions. An important issue for the development of businesses is also skill and ability to take advantage of modern technologies and apply them in the management processes of an organization. The article addresses issues concerning the significance of IT tools utilization in management, with particular regard to the barriers to their implementation in small and medium enterprises. Conclusions in this respect were drawn on the basis of analysis of GUS statistical data related to the use of information and communication technologies in businesses. A case study was also used to assess the level of implementation of IT tools in a manufacturing enterprise and to identify barriers in this regard.

W dniu 23 września 2020 r. uczestniczyłem w Webinarium Ogólnopolskiej Konferencji Nauczania Matematyki w Uczelniach Technicznych, które było zorganizowane przez Centrum Nauczania Matematyki i Kształcenia na Odległość Politechniki Gdańskiej. W pracy sformułowałem kilka uwag na temat zdalnego nauczania.
On September 23, 2020, I participated in the Webinar of the National Conference on Mathematics Teaching at Technical Universities, which was organized by the Center for Teaching Mathematics and Distance Learning of the Gdańsk University of Technology. In the paper, I formulated some remarks on distance learning. It seems that the most important thing is to ensure stable internet connections. On the basis of the classes conducted so far, it can be noticed that thanks to the pandemic, the process of digitization of the teaching process has been accelerated by preparing appropriate didactic materials in an electronic version. In my case, it was only an extension and redrafting of previously prepared lectures.

W dniach 22-24 września 2021 r. odbyła się XIX Ogólnopolska Konferencja Nauczanie Matematyki w Uczelniach Technicznych, która była zorganizowana przez Centrum Nauczania Matematyki i Kształcenia na Odległość Politechniki Gdańskiej. W pracy przedstawiono kilka uwag po kolejnym roku zdalnego nauczania.
On September 22-24, 2021, the 19th National Conference on Teaching Mathematics at Technical Universities was held, organized by the Center for Teaching Mathematics and Distance Learning of the Gdańsk University of Technology. The paper presents some remarks after another year of distance learning. A classic chalk lecture on a blackboard allows the audience to follow their thoughts. But well-prepared boards for a remote lecture allow you to easily convey the essence of the problem. The development of thoughts can then be sought in the available literature indicated in the lecture. A remote lecture allows you to pass on more problems to think about in slogan and develops the imagination of both the lecturer and the student. For the lecturer, the question arises: how to introduce mathematical concepts graphically, simply and verbally? What is needed is the ability to use natural language understandable to the listener, especially in the era of information noise and the transmission of an excess of unselected information.

Opis:
IT tools supporting the BPM approach developed rapidly in the last 10 years. Initially were available simple solutions for modeling and optimization of business processes. The next generation has offered business process implementation and monitoring in the real environment of the organization. Finally user requirements forced vendors to add a bit of “intelligence” to their applications and iBPMS entered on the market. The iBMPS market is still immature but some trends can be seen. The source for such analysis can be found in analytical reports provided by renowned research and advisory companies. In this paper was presented analysis of BPMS and iBMPS markets based on Gartner’s Magic Quadrant reports from years: 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2015.
