Referat jest komunikatem z etapu badań literaturowych służących identyfikacji potencjalnych metod oceny i selekcji wariantów informatyzacji uczelni publicznej w ramach dysertacji podejmującej kwestię strategicznego kształtowania programu informatyzacji uczelni publicznej. Informatyzacja jest programowana wokół koncepcji architektury korporacyjnej. Na poszczególnych etapach programowania informatyzacji powstaje kwestia oceny i wyboru najlepszego wariantu. Rozważane jest korzystanie z metody analitycznego procesu hierarchicznego (AHP). Analizowane są zalety i wady takiego podejścia.
The paper is a report of research within the dissertation taking the issue of strategic development of the program of computerization of public universities. Computerization is programmed around the concept of enterprise architecture. At various stages of computerization program, the question arises evaluation and selection of the best variant. Considered is the use of analytical hierarchy process method (AHP) and his mutation – ANP method. Analyzed are the advantages and disadvantages of such an approach.

In the 2023 vision strategy, prepared by TUBITAK in Turkey, Information Technology (IT), areas have been designated for target countries and FATIH project started in 2010. In order to achieve the aimed goals, FATIH (Increasing Opportunities and Improving Technology Movement) project consists of five main components. These components establish hardware and software infrastructure, educational e-content preparation and management, effective use of IT in the curriculum, in-service training of teachers, conscious, reliable, manageable and quantifiable IT use. The first component identifies technical infrastructures of school. The second component was created for the provision of education al content which is Education Information Network (EIN). The third component considers training programs. The fourth and fifth components of the effective use of IT by teachers discuss the issue of conscious and reliable Internet use and plan information for the in-service training. This paper presents the first component of the FATIH project and discusses the current situation and future goals of the ongoing project.

The article presents the basics of requirements analysis with respect to the general concept and methodology of implementing content management systems in organisations. The essential aim of the article is to present selected aspects of the concept of requirements analysis applied in the case of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) class systems. The literature on applications of IT systems still lacks a systemic approach to the implementation of ECM class systems, and above all, a presentation of the vital role of requirements analysis at the pre-implementation stage. Therefore, this article is an attempt to fill this gap. The first part of the article will present the most important concepts related to the area described. The main content of the article is the second part, which contains a description of the proposed approach to requirements analysis, supported by relevant examples.
W artykule zaprezentowano podstawy analizy wymagań w odniesieniu do ogólnej koncepcji i metodyki wdrażania systemów zarządzania treścią w organizacji. Podstawowym celem artykułu było zaprezentowanie wybranych aspektów koncepcji analizy wymagań stosowanej w przypadku systemu klasy Enterprise Content Management (ECM). W literaturze na temat zastosowań systemów IT wciąż brakuje systemowego podejścia do kwestii implementacji systemów klasy ECM, a przede wszystkim przedstawienia bardzo ważnej roli analizy wymagań na etapie przedwdrożeniowym. W związku z tym niniejszy artykuł stanowi próbę wypełnienia tej luki. W pierwszej części artykułu zaprezentowane zostaną najważniejsze pojęcia z opisywanego obszaru. Zasadniczą treść artykułu stanowi część druga, w której zawarty jest opis proponowanego podejścia do analizy wymagań poparty odpowiednimi przykładami.

W zmiennym otoczeniu charakteryzującym się dużym poziomem niepewności zarządzanie projektami zyskuje na znaczeniu. Sposób, w jaki przedsiębiorstwa realizują projekty, w dużej mierze zależy od dojrzałości projektowej organizacji, często wskazywanej jako jeden z kluczowych czynników determinujących skuteczność zarządzania projektami. Coraz wyższe poziomy dojrzałości projektowej wymagają odpowiedniego wsparcia narzędzi informatycznych, w celu zaspokojenia potrzeb informacyjnych. Celem artykułu jest przegląd narzędzi informatycznych towarzyszących różnym poziomom dojrzałości projektowej oraz wskazanie najważniejszych czynników wpływających na dobór tychże narzędzi.
In the turbulent environment characterised by a high degree of uncertainty, project management is gaining in importance. The way companies carry out projects significantly depends on the project management maturity often indicated as one of the key factors determining the effectiveness of project management. By principle,higher levels of project maturity requiring appropriate support tools, in order to meet higher information needs. The goal of the article is to review project portfolio management (PPM) tools associated with different levels of project management maturity and to identify the key factors influencing the selection of these tools.
В изменяющейся окружающей среде, для которой характерен высокий уровень неуверенности, управление проектами обретает особое значение. Способ, каким предприятия осуществляют проекты, в большой степени зависит от проектной зрелости организации, часто указываемой в качестве одного из основных факторов, предопределяющих эффективность управления проектами. Все более высокие уровни проектной зрелости требуют соответствующей поддержки со стороны информатических инструментов для удовлетворения информационных потребностей. Цель статьи – провести обзор информатических инструментов, сопровождающих разные уровни проектной зрелости, а также указать самые важные факторы, влияющие на подбор этих инструментов.

W obecnych czasach trudno sobie wyobrazić skuteczny i bieżący monitoring wykonania projektów bez wsparcia informatycznego. Pomocne mogą się okazać systemy ERP, BI czy Workflow. W publikacji zaprezentowano wykorzystanie Platformy Intense do controllingu projektów w działalności budowlanej.
Development of project-orientated businesses triggers need to implement project management methods. These are closely connected to utilization of project controlling. Basic task of project controlling is to deliver current and reliable information about project outcome and its impact on the organization. This can be realized by using multiple management tools including: cost calculation, budgeting, costing, project margin analysis. Today it is hard to imagine an effective and current monitoring of project without IT support. Systems like ERP, B or workflow become helpful. This article presents utilization of Intense Platform to project controlling in construction business.

ERP and CRM management information systems constitute one of the most popular IT system groups used by enterprises, not only in Poland. From the point of view of both theoreticians and practitioners of business informatics, it is important to understand the effectiveness of IT implementation projects in Poland in comparison to similar projects in other countries. The scope of this article is to present the results of research concerning the success and failure in ERP and CRM implementation projects in medium and large enterprises in Poland. The results answer the question regarding the level of effectiveness in selected IT projects consisting in standard implementation, roll-out, upgrade, vertical solution implementation and re-implementation in enterprises based in Poland between 2013 and 2016. The study analyzed 917 projects, including 747 projects in medium enterprises and 224 in large enterprises. The research shows the structure of fully successful, partially successful and completely failed projects following the classical evaluation of IT projects. Research results show that the level of effectiveness in IT projects consisting in implementations of management information systems is slightly higher in Poland than in analogous projects studied by the Standish Group. Importantly, despite technological progress and efforts of research centres, consulting companies and software producers, the effectiveness of IT project completion has not increased for over 20 years. The results may be interesting for researchers specializing in the subject of IT project completion, as well as for practitioners implementing such projects.

The high IT project failure rate means that the stakeholders start recognizing the need to analyze the factors influencing project success, previously deemed irrelevant in the face of technology, including the agile approach, eliminating project documentation, effective prototyping, information asymmetry between project parties, while also perfecting communication and the methods of knowledge transfer between team members. Currently, IT projects are researched using a holistic approach, seeing an implementation project as a whole, subject to specific regularities, which may not be deduced based on the knowledge of their individual components. We would like to enrich the research perspective with the notion of the information gap. The article aims to evaluate and analyze the information gap in ERP and CRM project implementations. We have researched the information gap from the perspective of project managers on the supplier’s and the client’s sides. The study was conducted in Poland between 2014 and 2021 in a group of medium companies, using qualitative research methods: unstructured interview and direct observation. The study led to a qualitative characterization of the information gap and the identification of its causes and consequences. The presented research result can help achieve three goals, i.e. studying the information gap in the selected group of IT projects, indicating the nature of imperfection in information access by the project participants, and raising awareness amongst project managers regarding risk management issues, especially uncertainty. Reducing the information gap can be used by the transaction parties to implement a strategy of building the object’s resilience to uncertainty and its consequences. These results can help develop methodologies of IT project implementation, limiting the level of risk and uncertainty.

The presented research results refer to the issues linked to the role of information technologies in enterprise value building models that can be found in the current economic structure. The scope of this article is to present an analysis of data collected in an annual research cycle and the resulting conclusions, describing management support IT projects in three groups of enterprises, representing three models of enterprise value analysis, i.e. value chain, value shop and value network. The research was questionnaire-based and covered the total of 160 enterprises and 210 IT projects carried out in those enterprises. The presented comparative research results indicate a map of characteristics within the typology of IT projects carried out in Poland in three different groups of enterprises. The essence of the research is to present a distribution of management support IT systems, the size of the projects, chosen application implementation strategies and the method of IT project investment economic evaluation in specific enterprise groups. The research results may be interesting for researchers specialising in the subject of IT project realisation and for practitioners realising projects for companies belonging to these groups.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) supports project management in industry projects increasingly more often. The article documents research results regarding the use of AI in Industry 4.0 projects. The aim of the article is to define the range of AI use in Industry 4.0 projects throughout their entire life cycle and to indentify the main stages of AI development in project management. Additionally, the article indicates the main barriers to AI use in project management identified in the studied projects. In order to identify and systemise the range of AI use, the Conceptual Framework of Using AI in Project Management presented in literature is applied. Research results indicate that we are in the early stages of AI use in projects. The studied projects use AI mainly in project administration, i.e. to complete the following tasks: simple automation of routine activities, support, and, to a very limited extent, in the area of project management, i.e. in identifying anomalies and predicting the phenomena where the anomalies will occur. The research uses the case study method, where four projects were studied: an ERP system upgrade, an implementation of an IT system supporting high-bay warehouse management, an implementation of an IoT as a data-collection sensor platform and an E-learning platform implementation. The study was conducted between 2019 and 2021, and covered the entire project life cycle, including its three stages, i.e. preparation, implementation and operation.

A high number of IT implementation projects still end in failure or only partial success. Some IT projects, however, are terminated already during project completion due to unsatisfactory progress of work or other organisational problems affecting the project. Particularly noteworthy are re-implementation projects, where an MIS is implemented again. The aim of this article is to present a characteristic of a re-implementation-type IT project consisting in an MIS-class system implementation. The author presents the results of his research conducted with the multiple case study method. The conclusions may be interesting both for practitioners and theoreticians of business informatics specialising in IT project completion

Wdrażanie systemów informatycznych wspierających zarządzanie z wykorzystaniem outsourcingu jest najbardziej popularnym sposobem realizacji projektów w Polsce. Nadal wiele projektów informatycznych kończy się porażką. Celem niniejszych badań jest próba analizy projektu informatycznego z wykorzystaniem współczesnych teorii działania przedsiębiorstwa uzupełniających neoklasyczną wizję funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstwa. W ramach badań autor wykorzystuje nową ekonomię instytucjonalną, a w szczególności teorię agencji, teorię kontraktualną oraz teorię kosztów transakcyjnych. Opiera się na metodzie studiów przypadków, które przedstawiają wdrożenie systemów informatycznych klasy ERP, BI, CRM. Rezultaty badań mogą być interesujące dla teoretyków informatyki gospodarczej, jak również dla praktyków organizujących przedsięwzięcia informatyczne w przedsiębiorstwach i w agendach rządowych.
Implementing management information systems based on outsourcing is by far the most popular method of completing this type of projects in Poland. Many projects, however, still end in failure. This study aims to analyse IT projects using contemporary enterprise theories, which significantly contribute to the neoclassical vision of enterprise functioning. As part of his research, the author uses the new institutional economics, in particular the agency theory, the contractual theory and the theory of transaction costs. The author used the case studies method, presenting ERP, BI and CRM system implementations. Research results may be interesting for theorists of business informatics, as well as practitioners implementing IT projects, both in enterprises and government agencies.

Purpose: The aim of the article is to analyse the risk management process in IT projects managed using the agile methods. Design/methodology/approach: The research was conducted through in-depth structured interviews on a sample of 111 project managers, leaders and project team members. Findings: In the conducted research, attention was paid to the identification of risk factors, their assessment during project planning, management of key risk factors and the importance of risk analysis for project success. The test results were compared with a critical analysis of the literature on the subject of research. Originality/value: The results of a survey of company heads become input information for the analysis, which allowed to confirm theoretical knowledge with the practical experience of company heads and emphasize the importance of the human factor in the risk management.

Tempo i skala ich wprowadzania prowadzi w wielu przypadkach do obniżenia spójności zarządzania organizacją powodując, wbrew intencjom, obniżenie sprawności i efektywności funkcjonowania organizacji. Aby przeciwdziałać tym niekorzystnym zjawiskom postulowane jest od pewnego czasu rozszerzenie hierarchii zarządzania o dodatkowy poziom zarządzania normatywnego. Działalność zarządcza realizowana na tym poziomie określana jest jako governance dla odróżnienia od tradycyjnej działalności zarządczej określanej jako management. Rozwiązania z zakresu governance – zarówno odnoszące się do organizacji jako całości jak też do jej dziedzin – są intensywnie rozwijane. Celowy jest w tej sytuacji przegląd aktualnego stanu tej problematyki i perspektyw jej rozwoju. Zagadnieniom tym poświęcony jest niniejszy artykuł. Treść artykułu opiera się na analizie literatury przedmiotu, standardów zarządzania oraz sprawdzonych dobrych praktyk.
The organization’s response to the growing complexity of its operating conditions, described as the ‘VUCA world’ (VUCA: volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) is the implementation of many different management instruments in organizations. The pace and scale of their implementation leads in many cases to a reduction in the cohesion of the organization’s management, causing, contrary to the assumptions/intentions, a reduction in the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s functioning. In order to counteract these unfavourable phenomena, it has been postulated for some time to extend the management hierarchy by an additional level of normative management. Management activities carried out at this level are referred to as governance to distinguish them from traditional management activities referred to as management. Governance solutions – both relating to the organization as a whole and to its areas – are being intensively developed. In this situation, it is advisable to review the current state of this issue and the prospects for its development. The content of the article is based on the analysis of the literature on the subject, management standards, and proven good practices.

Złożoność współczesnych projektów powoduje konieczność ustanowienia wspólnych platform porozumienia dla specjalistów różnych dziedzin, biorących w nich udział. Jest to istotne w projektach technicznych, w których należy brać pod uwagę nie tylko aspekty techniczne ale także aspekty biznesowe. Specyficzna sytuacja ma miejsce w projektach informatycznych, które opracowały swoje własne metody wytwarzania oprogramowania. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie wyników analizy porównawczej standardów stosowanych w obszarze zarządzania projektami technicznymi. Dokonano także porównania z podejściami stosowanymi w projektach informatycznych.
The complexity of contemporary projects leds to necessity the establishment of common platforms of agreement for professionals from the various fields involved in project. This is especially important in technical projects, where not only technical but also business aspects must be considered. The specific situation takes place in IT projects that have developed their own software development methods. The aim of this paper is to present the results of comparative analysis of standards used in the field of technical project management. There was also a comparison with the approaches used in IT projects.
