Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie założeń dotyczących podstawowych filarów edukacji, określonych przez Międzynarodową Komisję do spraw Edukacji dla XXI wieku, która pracowała pod kierunkiem Jacques’a Delorsa (przewodniczącego Komisji Europejskiej w latach 1985–1995). Pokłosiem obrad Komisji jest Raport dla UNESCO „Edukacja: jest w niej ukryty skarb” („L’Éducation: Un trésor est caché dedans”, UNESCO 1996). W artykule zastosowano kryterium problemowe, odniesione do poszczególnych części raportu i kategorii postaw dotyczących: zrównoważonego rozwoju, procesu wychowania, kształcenia do współżycia z innymi, odkrywania Innego.
The aim of the article is to present assumptions concerning the basic pillars of education, defined by the International Commission on Education for the Twenty-first Century, which operated under the supervision of Jacques Delors (President of the European Commission in the years 1985-1995) Learning: The Treasure Within (original title: L’Éducation: Un trésor est caché dedans, UNESCO 1996). The criterion applied in the article is the problem, referred to particular categories of attitudes concerning sustainable development, the process of education, developing the skill of coexistence with others, discovering the other one.

W artykule stawiam tezę, że w strategiach oświatowych zbyt słaby akcent kładzie się na zagadnienia związane z kształtowaniem świadomości ekologicznej, zorientowanej na holistyczną percepcję człowieka i przyrody. Przedstawiono tu antagonistyczne wizje i wybrane perspektywy postrzegania środowiska przyrodniczego oraz najczęściej przywoływane argumenty w dyskusjach – pomiędzy zwolennikami antropocentryzmu i propagatorami biocentryzmu.
In this article, I propose a thesis that in educational strategies too weak emphasis is placed on the issues of shaping environmental awareness, oriented on holistic perception of human beings and nature. I presented antagonistic visions and selected perceptions of the natural environment and the most frequently quoted arguments in the discussions – between the supporters of anthropocentrism and the propagators of biocentrism.

One of the most urgent economic and managerial issues is the formation of a high level of competitive human capital of the country as well as ensuring high level ranking of global competitiveness. The research is aimed to the substantiation of the significance of human capital as a key factor increasing international economic competitiveness. For this, a comparative analysis of macroeconomic indicators forming the human capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been carried out for the nine-year period 2008-2016, since the moment of the economic crisis until now. On the basis of the conducted analysis, competitive advantages and disadvantages of the human capital and dynamics of its development are revealed in the context of international competitiveness. It is proved that human capital has an economic impact depending on the level of the country’s competitiveness. As a result of the research, it has revealed interdependence between human capital and global competitiveness and revealing key factors for developing human capital in Kazakhstan in terms of increasing the country’s economic competitiveness. The conducted research has been directed to detecting main ways how to develop and human capital in conditions of global competitiveness from the management perspective.
Jedną z najpilniejszych kwestii gospodarczych i kierowniczych jest kształtowanie wysokiego poziomu konkurencyjnego kapitału ludzkiego w kraju, a także zapewnienie wysokiego poziomu rankingu globalnej konkurencyjności. Prezentowane studium ma na celu uzasadnienie znaczenia kapitału ludzkiego, jako kluczowego czynnika zwiększającego międzynarodową konkurencyjność gospodarczą. W tym celu dokonano analizy porównawczej wskaźników makroekonomicznych tworzących kapitał ludzki Republiki Kazachstanu w dziewięcioletnim okresie 2008-2016, począwszy od kryzysu gospodarczego aż do teraz. Na podstawie przeprowadzonej analizy ujawniono przewagi konkurencyjne i wady kapitału ludzkiego oraz dynamikę jego rozwoju w kontekście międzynarodowej konkurencyjności. Udowodniono, że kapitał ludzki ma wpływ ekonomiczny w zależności od poziomu konkurencyjności kraju. W wyniku badań ujawniono współzależność między kapitałem ludzkim a globalną konkurencyjnością oraz ujawniono kluczowe czynniki rozwoju kapitału ludzkiego w Kazachstanie pod względem zwiększenia konkurencyjności gospodarczej kraju. Przeprowadzone badania zostały ukierunkowane na ukazanie głównych sposobów rozwoju kapitału ludzkiego w warunkach globalnej konkurencyjności z perspektywy zarządzania.

The world we live in has witnessed some drastic environmental imbalance in recent times. These imbalances have threatened sustainable development- which is the ultimate goal of man-environment relationship. This paper reviews the causes and effects of climate change on man and his environment with a view to using science education to solve the problems posed by climate change. Literature shows that climate change results mainly from human activities such as rapid deforestation for agricultural and industrial purposes, carbon dioxide emission from fossil fuel burning, carbon dioxide emission from burning gasoline for transportation, usage of chemical fertilizers on croplands and methane emission from animals, agriculture and arctic sea beds. The consequences of these activities include global warming, ozone layer depletion, greenhouse effect, rising sea level and acid rain. It is recommended here that the whole educational process be re-packaged to emphasize science education as a panacea for sustainable development. The argument here is that the educational institutions are the best media for the inculcation of proper morals and values. It is also recommended that teacher education programmes should allocate more funds to research in, and teaching of science in schools.

Opis:
Using the online learning platform provides a dynamic training program at substantially reduced costs compared with the conventional systems. They ensure the development of a scalable products, secure online access to thousands of students even for distance learning, offering them the books available online, multimedia support, etc. Outside the curriculum it was developed a flexible verification and scoring system, uploading projects, maintaining a permanent online contact between students on the one side and between students and lecturers on the other side. In the online lessons there may be audio or video links between students and lecturer, when the session administrator believes that certain aspects need to be developed in this way. Ensuring for a convenient program of resources access may allow students to structure better the learning period.
Korzystanie z platformy uczenia się online zapewnia dynamiczny program szkoleniowy przy znacznie obniżonych kosztach w porównaniu z konwencjonalnymi systemami. Zapewniają one rozwój skalowalnych produktów, bezpieczny dostęp online do tysięcy uczniów, nawet do kształcenia na odległość, oferując im książki dostępne online, materiały multimedialne, etc. Poza programem nauczania opracowany został elastyczny system weryfikacji i oceny punktowej, przesyłania projektów, utrzymujący stały kontakt online pomiędzy studentami z jednej strony oraz między studentami i wykładowcami z drugiej strony. W lekcjach online mogą znaleźć się audio lub wideo powiązania pomiędzy studentami i wykładowcą, gdy administrator sesji uzna, że niektóre aspekty powinny być rozwinięte w taki właśnie sposób. Zapewnienie wygodnego programu dostępu do zasobów może umożliwić uczniom lepsze zorganizowanie okresu nauki.

The article presents selected references to the Global Education & Skills Forum (GESF), an initiative of the Varkey Foundation and hosted every March in Dubai (United Arab Emirates). The Forum has been organized since 2013 as a multi-day educational forum. It gathers representatives from more than 100 countries every year. Education ministers from different countries worldwide are also among participants. Sunny Varkey, the Varkey Foundation’s Chairman, founded the Global Teacher Prize to identify an exceptional teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession. It is given every year during the GESF. This article presents some examples from recent years. Such issues as the outline of the concept of development and global education or a brief description of GESF with analogies to Forum in Davos are also being discussed in the article. Summary version of the concept of development with some references to the sphere of education, especially global education, shows that such issues as North–South relations, especially mutual interdependencies or Sustainable Development Goals (2015), are related to global education. Lexical aspects of the Forum name are also being discussed. Global education in Poland is, in fact, sometimes misinterpreted or defined in isolation from its immanent conceptual scope what is shown by different researchers.
W artykule przedstawiono wybrane odniesienia do Globalnego Forum Edukacji i Umiejętności (Global Education & Skills Forum, GESF), które jest inicjatywą Fundacji Varkey i odbywa się co roku w marcu w Dubaju (Zjednoczone Emiraty Arabskie). Forum jest organizowane od 2013 r. jako kilkudniowe forum edukacyjne. Co roku gromadzi przedstawicieli z ponad 100 krajów. Wśród uczestników znajdują się również ministrowie edukacji z różnych krajów na całym świecie. Sunny Varkey, prezes Varkey Foundation, ufundował Global Teacher Prize, mającą na celu nagrodzenie wyjątkowej osoby (pedagoga, nauczyciela, edukatora), która wniosła wybitny wkład w wykonywanie swojej profesji. Nagroda przyznawana jest co roku podczas GESF. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono kilka przykładów z ostatnich lat. Ponadto krótko nakreślono koncepcję rozwoju i edukacji globalnej czy zamieszczono krótki opis GESF z analogiami do Forum w Davos. Skrócona wersja koncepcji rozwoju z pewnymi odniesieniami do sfery edukacji, zwłaszcza edukacji globalnej, pokazuje, że takie kwestie jak relacje Północ–Południe, szczególnie zaś wzajemne współzależności czy Cele Zrównoważonego Rozwoju (2015), są powiązane z edukacją globalną. Dyskutowane są też aspekty leksykalne odnoszące się do nazwy Forum. Edukacja globalna w Polsce bywa bowiem błędnie interpretowana lub definiowana w oderwaniu od jej immanentnego zakresu pojęciowego, na co wskazują różni badacze.

Wprowadzenie do szkół edukacji seksualnej budzi wiele wątpliwości rodziców oraz nauczycieli. Współczesne standardy opierają się na założeniu, że rodzimy się jako istoty seksualne. I dlatego edukować należy już dzieci w przedszkolu. Jednak dokładna analiza zaleceń Światowej Organizacji Zdrowia budzi wiele wątpliwości. Liberalna edukacja seksualna zakłada bowiem oddzielenie współżycia oraz innych form ekspresji seksualnej od kwestii rodziny i małżeństwa. Może już najwyższy czas, aby skończyć z polityką seksualną wymierzoną przeciwko takim wartościom jak miłość, małżeństwo, wierność czy rodzina.
Implementation of the sexual education into schools seems to be controversial for parents and teachers. Nowadays  it is said that we are born as sexual beings. Hence children should already  be  taught that  in kindergarten. However the particular principles of WHO arise  serious doubts. Liberal sexual education is based on separation between different kinds of sexual activities  and family or marriage issue.  It is  high time to finish any sexual politics which is against such values as love, marriage, faithfulness or family.

Ostatnie dziesięciolecia charakteryzują się wielkim przyspieszeniem cywilizacyjnym. Nie wystarcza już tradycyjna zdolność adaptacyjna społeczeństwa do zamieniających się sytuacji społecznych, gospodarczych i technicznych. W artykule wykazuję, że trzeba podjąć zamierzone oddziaływania edukacyjne, skierowane szczególnie do ludzi dorosłych, którzy nie nadążają za zachodzącymi zmianami. Celem opracowania jest uświadomienie problemu globalizacji jako scalania rynków, kapitału, a także nowej idei i mechanizmów funkcjonowania współpracy z uwzględnieniem wielokulturowości. W tym kontekście ukazuję strategię rozwoju edukacji ze wskazaniem roli nauczyciela.
The last decades are characterized by a great acceleration of civilization. A traditional adaptability of the society to constantly changing social, economic and technical situations, are not yet sufficient. In this article, I am showing that it is necessary to undertake planned educational influences, directed particularly to adult people who do not follow up with those changes. The aim of this elaboration is to enlighten the problem of globalization as a market’s merge, the chapter of the new idea and mechanisms of cooperation functioning taking into account the multiculturalism, at the same time. In this context the development strategy of the education and showing the role the teacher is presented.

Aim. Employability has gained increased interest after the respective global shocks of 2008 and 2020. The study deepens the theory of employability in relation to a globally significant tourism industry. The aim of the study is to identify the core dimensions of the employability of tour-guides. Method. The study adopted a qualitatively intrinsic case study at a world heritage site (WHS), namely the Maropeng Visitor Centre. The researcher focused on the notion of employability for tour-guides, based on existing research gaps regarding those two central concepts. Results. The study determines the roles and responsibilities of tour-guides so as to align these to the notion of employability capital of tour-guides. Secondly, the study probed how higher education institutions (HEIs) should contribute to tour-guides’ employability particularly, and their employability capital, generally. Moreover, misconceptions emerged about HEIs’ offerings concerning employability and tour-guides’ education. Conclusions. Employability capital has become a factor influencing success in the work environment. This study revealed the importance of practical courses in tourism education (tour guiding, first aid, and additional languages) and highlighted the imperative to understand students’ skills and capabilities within the scope of practical training courses. Originality. The study advances knowledge on employability capital in relation to tour guiding at WHS. This would help to develop a better system that would increase employability capital in the tour-guiding sector.

Artykuł prezentuje aktualny stan edukacji przedsiębiorczości w Polsce w kontekście porównania międzynarodowego poziomu przedsiębiorczości oraz otoczenia przedsiębiorczości. Uwarunkowania przedsiębiorczości zostały zaprezentowane przy wykorzystaniu krajowego profilu instytucjonalnego dla przedsiębiorczości, a porównanie międzynarodowe za pomocą wyników Globalnego Monitora Przedsiębiorczości. Artykuł ocenia poziom efektywności przedsiębiorczości w polskim systemie edukacji wyższej poprzez zestawienie obecnych programów w wiodących instytucjach. Działalność centralnych instytucji rządowych, głównie Ministerstwa Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego, również została oceniona. Dostępność programów przedsiębiorczości na uczelniach scharakteryzowano na podstawie analizy celów i treści ich nauczania. Wynikiem analizy jest konkluzja, że programy nauczania przedsiębiorczości są szeroko dostępne, również biorąc pod uwagę dostępność geograficzną. Ponadto zostało stwierdzone, że treść kursów jest bardziej nakierowana na zarządzanie małymi i średnimi firmami niż na proces rozpoczynania działalności. Zidentyfikowana została również potrzeba dalszych badań nad rezultatami nauczania.
The paper presents the actual state of entrepreneurship education in Poland in the context of the level of entrepreneurship compared to other countries and the environment for entrepreneurship. The environment for entrepreneurship is presented using the country institutional profile for entrepreneurship and the international comparison uses Global Entrepreneurship Monitor data. The study evaluates the level of effectiveness of entrepreneurship education in Poland’s higher economic system by contrasting the current undergraduate and postgraduate programs in leading institutions. The activities of central government institutions, mainly the Ministry of Science and Higher Education are also evaluated. Thereafter, the availability of entrepreneurship programs at the universities is appraised followed by an analysis of the objectives and content of leading programs. The study found that entrepreneurship education programmes were widely available with effective regional coverage. Moreover, the study found that the content of courses was directed towards managing small businesses as opposed to the start-up process. The study recognized the need for further research to explore the impact of such courses.

Opis:
The increasingly diversified global workplace poses challenges to communication between different culture representatives. Thus the needs of workers should include intercultural skills, and this should be taken into consideration by teachers. The article looks at the evolution of the concept of needs and their assessment. It advocates for broadening the scope of needs analysis to include the needs related to intercultural communication. It reviews various approaches and practice of needs assessment and discusses needs in the global workplace.

Opis:
The Author of the article reconstructs the origin and development of rankings of higher education institutions. In the first part the current ranking are listed and the importance of rankings for universities is stressed. Next, the beginning of American rankings in the XIXth century is presented as well ad turning points in methodologies of evaluation. The rankings created by Charles Babcock and James McKeena Cattell in the first decades of XXth century are analysed. The special attention is paid to changes in criteria used to assess the educational institutions in subsequent decades. In conlusive part the Author criticizes rankings for one-dimensional and reductionist approach to academic world.
