    Opis:
    In this article, the author attempts to show common features and also differences in the study of style in Polish and German-speaking countries. Special emphasis is placed on finding and demonstrating analogies, both in the tradition of research on style, and the meaning of the concept of style in both examined areas. In addition, the paper shows different research traditions and the changing understanding of the term style and its research from the contrastive perspective, as well as the latest trends especially in research on style within German studies.

    Iwona Chmielewska’s picturebook abc.de published in 2015 has been called a ‘dictionary’, ‘primer’, ‘ABC book’ and it has been compared to an encyclopaedia. Early-concept or concept books have been mentioned in its context, as well as the title of other books by Chmielewska, ‘thinking ABC’, this time as a specific name for a particular type of work. The terms ‘rebus’, ‘puzzle’, ‘riddle’, ‘intellectual game’ also appear frequently. All this together suggests how complex and multi-layered the book is and how much it draws on various forms. The aim of this article, therefore, is to look at what forms, in what way and for what purpose Iwona Chmielewska uses in abc.de and how it all relates to contemporary trends in the development of non-fiction picturebooks.

    The article responds to the need for a more comprehensive research on the reception and translation of Julian Tuwim’s diverse and innovative oeuvre outside Poland. More specifically, it discusses the reception of Julian Tuwim’s works among German-speaking readers. The author examines selected problems with translating Tuwim’s poetry into German, which are related to the structure and syntax of the poems. In particular, the article focuses on the creative use of declensional forms, which is hard to convey in German due to the fact that it lacks instrumental forms of nouns.

    The issue of migration is currently an essential subject of research. The goal of the presented text is to analyze the genesis, scale and consequences of Islamic migration to German speaking countries (Austria, Germany and Switzerland). These nations should be incorporated into a broader analysis on account of their historical foundation and contemporary progress in the large influx and diversity of the Muslim nation. This issue is extremely essential for internal security policies of the above mentioned countries, as well as for the EU itself. Muslims comprise a significant percentage of migrants to Europe. Taking into account civilization and cultural diversity, this is important both in the political as well as social contexts. Problematyka migracji stanowi współcześnie istotny przedmiot badań. Celem niniejszego tekstu jest zbadanie genezy, skali i konsekwencji migracji islamskich dla państw niemieckojęzycznych: Austrii, Niemiec i Szwajcarii. Państwa te warto objąć szerszą analizą ze względu na historycznie ugruntowane i, współcześnie postępujące, duże napływy oraz zróżnicowanie narodowościowe muzułmanów. Problematyka ta jest niezwykle istotna dla polityki bezpieczeństwa wewnętrznego ww. państw, jak i samej UE. Muzułmanie stanowią istotny odsetek osób migrujących do Europy. Biorąc pod uwagę odmienność cywilizacyjną i kulturową jest to istotne w kontekście politycznym i społecznym.

    Od 1 stycznia 2010 roku obowiązuje w Austrii nowe prawo o rejestrowanych związkach partnerskich osób tej samej płci. Jest to trzecia ustawa niemieckojęzyczna, która wprowadza nowy porządek prawny w tej dziedzinie życia społecznego w kolejnym kraju niemieckiego obszaru językowego. Celem artykułu, który z założenia jest badaniem prawnoporównawczym i wpisuje się w nurt badań komparatystyki prawniczej, będzie analiza wspomnianych aktów legislacyjnych przeprowadzana z dwóch perspektyw. Przedmiotem porównania jest nie tylko instytucja związku partnerskiego, ale również struktura przedmiotowych ustaw oraz od strony językowej: terminologia specjalistyczna odnosząca się do przedmiotu ustaw rozpatrywana również w aspekcie przekładoznawczym. Wyniki badania dostarczą odpowiedzi, na ile rozwiązania legislacyjne zaproponowane przez ustawodawców trzech krajów w podobny sposób regulują ten sam fragment rzeczywistości społecznej i mogą uchodzić za standardowe. Analiza językowa wskaże na obecność lub brak specjalnej terminologii oraz jej homogeniczność bądź narodową (regionalną) wariantywność na obszarze państw niemieckojęzycznych.
    A new law on registered civil unions of persons of the sme sex has been in force in Austria since 1 January 2010. It is the third statute which introduces a new legal order in this sphere of social life in a German-speaking country. The main aim of this paper is to compare the above mentioned legal acts from a legal and linguistic perspective. The analysed terminology will also be investigated in the aspect of translation. The results of the research will show similities and differences between institutions introduced in the dicussed legal systems and reveal national (regional) terminological usage.
    Am 1. Januar 2010 trat das Eingetragene Partnerschaft-Gesetz (EPG) in Österreich in Kraft. Es ist das dritte deutschsprachige Land, in dem der Bereich des öffentlichen Lebens gesetzlich geregelt wird. Die in dem vorliegenden Artikel dargestellte rechtsvergleichende Untersuchung setzt sich zum Ziel die drei deutschsprachigen Gesetzestexte miteinander aus zwei Perspektiven zu vergleichen. Den Ausgangspunkt bilden zum einen die Bestimmungen hinsichtlich des Rechtsinstituts der eingetragenen Lebenspartnerschaft und die von den Gesetzgebern vorgeschlagenen rechtlichen Lösungen. Zum anderen umfasst die Vergleichsbasis die sprachliche Ebene der Texte. Sie werden nämlich hinsichtlich der Fachterminologie untersucht, und somit wird es der Frage nachgelaufen, ob die vorgefundenen Fachtermini ein homogenes Repertoire darstellen oder eher als nationale (regionale) Varianten im deutschsprachigen Raum anzusehen sind. Weniger Augenmerk wird der äußeren Struktur der Gesetzestexte gewidmet. Die Untersuchung schließen einige Überlegungen und Bemerkungen aus dem übersetzungswissenschaftlichen Standpunkt ab.

    Opis:
    This article is based on the research integrating qualitative approach and the content analysis method. The aim is to analyse the mission and strategy of the higher education institutions, assuming that through the mission and strategy those institutions express their self-identification, describe their current state and indicate the directions of development. The subject of the analysis is the best higher education institutions of the German-speaking countries, operating in national and international environment. The research was based on the content analysis, and on its basis, the values and aims of each university were indicated, and then – using the bottom–up method – the aggregation of the universities’ areas of activities was done. In this sense, the selected scopes of activities and points of focus may constitute a generalised reference to the other universities and to the entire academic community in the studied countries.2 The analysis of the various types of the universities (full, technical, medical) did not demonstrate any significant differences in their self-identification and the designation of the functions of the university, despite the differences in the language of description and the breadth of the offered career perspectives. The common origin, and cultural and social context were also the important factors in this research. The analised higher education institutions were much more oriented towards the standards defined by the best universities in the world and the global challenges of civilisation, what allowed them to become the leading institutions in innovation and technology transfer to the economy. Nowadays, the investigated universities represent the highest standards of academic knowledge. At the same time, they express contemporary trends and requirements of a business organisation (e.g. transparency, evaluation, knowledge management, inclusiveness). Moreover, the investigated higher education institutions perceive themselves as the socially responsible universities, what is confirmed by such values as: inclusiveness, gender mainstreaming, and sustainable development.
    Prezentowany artykuł bazuje na badaniach integrujących podejście jakościowe z analizą treści. Ich celem była analiza misji i strategii uczelni, uznając, że w ten sposób uczelnie artykułują samoidentyfikację, opisują obecny stan oraz wskazują kierunki docelowe. Obiektem analizy są najlepsze uniwersytety państw niemieckojęzycznych, funkcjonujące w krajowym i międzynarodowym środowisku. Badania skupiały się na analizie treści i na tej podstawie prowadziły do wskazania wartości i celów działania każdego uniwersytetu, a następnie – metodą oddolną – do zagregowania i wyznaczenia pól ich aktywności. Wytypowane zakresy i ich punkty ciężkości mogą stanowić uogólnione odniesienie dla innych szkół wyższych i całego środowiska akademickiego. Objęcie analizą różnych typów uniwersytetów (pełne, techniczne, medyczne) nie pokazało istotnych odmienności w samoidentyfikacji i wyznaczaniu funkcji szkoły wyższej, mimo iż odróżniał je język opisu oraz szerokość perspektywy. Istotnym był czynnik wspólnego pochodzenia oraz uwarunkowania kulturowo-społeczne. W zdecydowanie większym stopniu uniwersytety orientowały się na standardy definiowane przez najlepsze szkoły wyższe świata oraz na globalne wyzwania cywilizacyjne. Pozwoliło im to stać się liderami innowacyjności i transferu technologii do gospodarki. Dziś przedstawione uczelnie uosabiają najwyższy standard wiedzy akademickiej. Jednocześnie wyrażają współczesne trendy i wymogi organizacji biznesowej (np. transparentność, ewaluacja, zarządzanie wiedzą, inkluzywność). Postrzegają siebie jako uczelnie społecznie odpowiedzialne, co potwierdzają takimi zapisami jak: inkluzywność, gender mainstreaming, rozwój zrównoważony.
