Opis:
Dynamics and control of discrete chaotic systems of fractional-order have received considerable attention over the last few years. So far, nonlinear control laws have been mainly used for stabilizing at zero the chaotic dynamics of fractional maps. This article provides a further contribution to such research field by presenting simple linear control laws for stabilizing three fractional chaotic maps in regard to their dynamics. Specifically, a one-dimensional linear control law and a scalar control law are proposed for stabilizing at the origin the chaotic dynamics of the Zeraoulia-Sprott rational map and the Ikeda map, respectively. Additionally, a two-dimensional linear control law is developed to stabilize the chaotic fractional flow map. All the results have been achieved by exploiting new theorems based on the Lyapunov method as well as on the properties of the Caputo h-difference operator. The relevant simulation findings are implemented to confirm the validity of the established linear control scheme.

Opis:
This paper presents a new formulation for set-membership parameter estimation of fractional systems. In such a context, the error between the measured data and the output model is supposed to be unknown but bounded with a priori known bounds. The bounded error is specified over measurement noise, rather than over an equation error, which is mainly motivated by experimental considerations. The proposed approach is based on the optimal bounding ellipsoid algorithm for linear output-error fractional models. A numerical example is presented to show effectiveness and discuss results.

In this paper, by differentiating the entropy’s generating function (i.e., h(t) = R SX̄F tX (x)dx) using a Caputo fractional-order derivative, we derive a generalized non-logarithmic fractional cumulative residual entropy (FCRE). When the order of differentiation α → 1, the ordinary Rao CRE is recovered, which corresponds to the results from first-order ordinary differentiation. Some properties and examples of the proposed FCRE are also presented.

Opis:
Purpose: During the last decades, derivatives and integrals of non-integer orders are being more commonly used for the description of constitutive behavior of various viscoelastic materials including soft biological tissues. Compared to integer order constitutive relations, non-integer order viscoelastic material models of soft biological tissues are capable of capturing a wider range of viscoelastic behavior obtained from experiments. Although integer order models may yield comparably accurate results, non-integer order material models have less number of parameters to be identified in addition to description of an intermediate material that can monotonically and continuously be adjusted in between an ideal elastic solid and an ideal viscous fluid. Methods: In this work, starting with some preliminaries on non-integer (fractional) calculus, the “spring-pot”, (intermediate mechanical element between a solid and a fluid), non-integer order three element (Zener) solid model, finally a user-defined large strain non-integer order viscoelastic constitutive model was constructed to be used in finite element simulations. Using the constitutive equation developed, by utilizing inverse finite element method and in vivo indentation experiments, soft tissue material identification was performed. Results: The results indicate that material coefficients obtained from relaxation experiments, when optimized with creep experimental data could simulate relaxation, creep and cyclic loading and unloading experiments accurately. Conclusions: Non-integer calculus viscoelastic constitutive models, having physical interpretation and modeling experimental data accurately is a good alternative to classical phenomenological viscoelastic constitutive equations.

Opis:
In this paper, we introduce a fractional order of a simple Markovian model where the arrival rate of the patient is Poisson, i.e. independent of the patient size. Fraction is obtained by replacing the first order time derivative in the difference differential equations which govern the probability law of the process with the Mittag-Leffler function. We derive the probability distribution of the number N(t) of patients suffering from severe disease at an arbitrary time t. We also obtain the mean size (number) of the patients suffering from severe disease waiting for service at any given time t, in the form of E ν 0.5,0.5 (t), for different fractional values of server activity status, ν = 1,0.95,0.90 and for arrival rates α = β = 0.5. A numerical example is also evaluated and analysed by using the simple Markovian model with the help of simulation techniques.

The fractional derivative is the Caputo fractional derivative of order α. The rate of convergence of the finite difference method is presented. It is seen that this method is in agreement with the obtained numerical solutions with acceptable central processing unit time (CPU time). Error estimates, numerical and exact results are tabulated. The graphics of errors are given.

Opis:
As the traffic volume from various Internet of things (IoT) networks increases significantly, the need for adapting the quality of service (QoS) mechanisms to the new Internet conditions becomes essential. We propose a QoS mechanism for the IoT gateway based on packet classification and active queue management (AQM). End devices label packets with a special packet field (type of service (ToS) for IPv4 or traffic class (TC) for IPv6) and thus classify them as priority for real-time IoT traffic and non-priority for standard IP traffic. Our AQM mechanism drops only non-priority packets and thus ensures that real-time traffic packets for critical IoT systems are not removed if the priority traffic does not exceed the maximum queue capacity. This AQM mechanism is based on the PIα controller with non-integer integration order. We use fluid flow approximation and discrete event simulation to determine the influence of the AQM policy on the packet loss probability, queue length and its variability. The impact of the long-range dependent (LRD) traffic is also considered. The obtained results show the properties of the proposed mechanism and the merits of the PIα controller.

The leader-following consensus problem of fractional-order multi-agent discrete-time systems with delays is considered. In the systems, interactions between agents are defined like in Krause and Cucker-Smale models, but the memory is included by taking both the fractional-order discrete-time operator on the left hand side of the nonlinear systems and the delays. Since in practical problems only bounded number of delays can be considered, we study the fractional order discrete-time models with a finite number of delays. The models of opinions under consideration are investigated for single- and double-summator dynamics of discrete-time by means of analytical methods as well as computer simulations.
