W artykule poddano badaniu Dekret o ekumenizmie II Soboru Watykańskiego oraz najnowszy dokument Komisji Wiara Ustrój Światowej Rady Kościołów Ku wspólnej wizji Kościoła pod kątem znalezienia możliwych propozycji wiodących ku wzajemnemu uznaniu posługiwania duchownego związanego z sukcesja apo- stolską, występującego w Kościołach zaangażowanych w dialog ekumeniczny. W skrócie dotknięto też propozycji niektórych teologów, które jednak nie znala- zły odzwierciedlenia w żadnym oficjalnym dokumencie. Przeprowadzone analizy wykazały, że badane dokumenty nie zawierają kon- kretnych propozycji wiodących ku pojednaniu posługiwań, w zamian dokument ŚRK kataloguje obszary ekumenicznej konwergencji i dywergencji w tej ważnej kwestii, a także stawia ważkie pytania, na które najpierw trzeba znaleźć odpo- wiedź, by móc przejść do ustaleń w sprawie wzajemnego uznania posługiwania duchownych ordynowanych.

The reference point for deliberations is constituted by two documents: the Apostolic Constitution of Francis Episcopalis communio and the final document of XV General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops dedicated to the problems of young people Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment. The synodal document presented the issues which were not discussed during the synodal sessions and concern the synodal path of the Church. The author reflects on common elements of both documents and interprets each of them in the light of the other one. He highlights the element of discernment of gifts, charisms, and conscience, which determine the position of the faithful in the ecclesial community and influence the bonds between them and the pastors of the Church. Extending the area of implementation of the synodal character of the Church allows the author to ask the question about the model of the presence of the Church in the world. The author points out similarities between the synodal way and the methodology of ecumenical dialogue, which may affect summoning of the Synod dedicated to ecumenical issues.

The article is an attempt to designate the significance of pneumatology for ecumenical openness of Christian Churches and Communities. It consists of three parts. Firstly, from the Roman Catholic perspective the Author indicates some reasons for necessity of taking into account and unceasing learning of pneumatology. It has been important to analyze negative results of the before Council closeness for the Holy Spirit in the Western ecclesiology as well as positive fruition of the openness for Him at Vatican II.  The main part of the article turns a Reader’s attention towards the possibilities of mutual enriching by various components of pneumatology in the scope of the interpretation of an act of faith, the Word of God, Tradition, new humanity, connectedness of saving economy of the Son with that of the Holy Spirit, the identity of the Spirit in Christ and in Christians, saving mediation of the Spirit and His life-giving activity. The Author presents chances of ecumenical dialogue in the third part of the article. It would be possible to notice and use them if one undertakes the deeper afterthought on individual plots of pneumatology. He shows how to do it referring to three threads of ecclesiological pneumatology.

The paper analyzes contemporary trends in mariology. It briefly outlines the assumptions of the maximalist (christotypic) and minimalist (ecclesiotypic) mariology. By suggesting their complementarity the ecumenical model of mariology is proposed. His basis is systematically developed in many bilateral groups, e.g.: The Ecumenical Society of the Blessed Virgin Mary in England, The Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission – ARCIC, The Lutheran-Catholic Commission in the USA and Germany, The Group of Dombes. Echoes of these arrangements have been reflected in the content of catechisms developed by local churches, e.g. in the Netherlands, Germany and France.
Artykuł podejmuje analizę współczesnych nurtów w mariologii. W zwięzły sposób zarysowuje założenia mariologii maksymalistycznej (chrystotypicznej) i minimalistycznej (eklezjotypicznej). Postulując ich komplementarność, proponuje model ekumeniczny mariologii, której podstawy są systematycznie wypracowywane w wielu grupach bilateralnych. Dla przykładu zaprezentowano owoce prac: Ekumenicznego Stowarzyszenia Błogosławionej Dziewicy Maryi w Anglii, Międzynarodowej Komisji Anglikańsko-Katolickiej, Komisji do Dialogu Luterańsko-Katolickiego w USA, Luterańsko-katolickiej grupy na terenie Niemiec, Grupy z Dombes. Echa tych uzgodnień znalazły swoje odzwierciedlenie w treści katechizmów wypracowywanych przez Kościoły lokalne, np. w Holandii, Niemczech czy Francji.

In the Christian theological language, the term “ecumenism” was put in circulation by the Ecumenical Movement initiated by the Christians after the First World War. But, in the language of the Catholic Church, the term “ecumenism,” used with the meaning of the “ecumenical movement,” was introduced by the renowned theologian Yves Congar in 1937. And, then, it was taken over by the Second Vatican Council for the text of the decree on ecumenism Unitatis redintegratio. The Roman Catholic Church joined the Ecumenical Movement in 1961, when its delegates were presents at the Session — held in New Delhi — of the Ecumenical Council. Among other things, from the text of the Encyclical Ut unum sint published by Pope John Paul II in the year 1995, we could notice that His Holiness asserted that an ecumenical dialogue — that remains in fact one of the main instruments for the reestablishment of the ecumenical unity — has to fulfill the requirements stipulated by the Second Vatican Council, adopted however to the ecumenical realities of the present times.

Analiza dokumentów dialogowych wskazuje na to, że istnieją ważne obszary tematyczne, które nie są w nich poruszane lub też, dość często, są poruszane w sposób fragmentaryczny, tak aby bardziej zaakcentować istniejące zbieżności niż skalę i konsekwencje rozbieżności. Dotyczy to zarówno pewnych kontrowersji dogmatycznych, jak też zagadnień etycznych. Milczenie w dialogu ekumenicznym jest zatem ambiwalentne: może być wyrazem oczekiwania na dalszy postęp tego dialogu i przezwyciężenie trudności, ale może również być próbą uchylenia się od kwestii najtrudniejszych i ich oceny. Tak zarysowany kontekst wyznacza cel tej krótkiej refleksji teologicznoekumenicznej, podejmującej kwestie milczenia i słowa w dialogu ekumenicznym. Najpierw warto przyjrzeć się milczeniu – temu, o czym i w jaki sposób milczy się w dialogu ekumenicznym. Następnie można przypatrzeć się charakterystyce ekumenicznego słowa.
An analysis of dialogue documents indicates that there are important thematic areas that are not addressed in them or, quite often, are addressed in a fragmented way, so as to more accentuate existing convergences than the scale and consequences of discrepancies. This applies to both certain dogmatic controversies and ethical issues. Silence in the ecumenical dialogue is therefore ambivalent. It can be an expression of expectations for further progress of this dialogue and overcoming difficulties, but it can also be an attempt to evade the most difficult issues and their assessment. It is the context which sets the goal of this brief theological-ecumenical reflection. The article addresses the issues of silence and word in the ecumenical dialogue. Firstly, it proposes some ways of interpreting „ecumenical silence”. Secondly, it presents the characteristics of the „ecumenical word”.

The author of this article presents Benedict XVI’s ecumenical dialogue with the Eastern Orthodox Church as a whole through the speeches, declarations, and homilies that he delivered to representatives of the Eastern Church. This dialogue is undoubtedly significant. As a pope, Benedict XVI fostered and authoritatively promoted this interchange by initiating meetings, participating in communal prayer, teaching, treating those who he encountered with fraternal friendship and charity, and overcoming various obstacles. The Holy Father emphasized the theological studies that the two Churches share in common, because complete and visible communion cannot exist without unity of faith. As always – and particularly as the theologian and as the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith – he taught that both Churches could celebrate the Eucharist together only when they are fully united. When would this happen? According to Benedict XVI, such union is a gift from God for which the faithful must pray and toward which they must work by: evangelizing together, mutually resisting ideologies hostile to Christianity and humanity, ensuring peace and justice among Christians and those who follow other religions, and cooperating in charitable care of the poor, the sick, and the needy.

Heute sind marianische Themen eine große Herausforderung für die Teilnehmer des ökumenischen Dialogs. Sie aufzugreifen und richtig zu berücksichtigen, ist von großer Bedeutung im Streben nach der Einheit der Christen, die der Wille Christi ist. Unter den mariologischen Fragen, die in Diskussionen zwischen Konfessionen aufgeworfen wurden, ist eine der schwierigeren Streitfragen die Lehre von der Fürbitte der Heiligen Jungfrau Maria. Unterschiede zwischen den Konfessionen in der Wahrnehmung dieses Themas, die in der Zeit der Reformation begannen, verfestigten sich und bestehen bis heute. Das Zusammenkommen gespaltener Christen, das eine gemeinsame Betrachtung dieser Streitfrage ermöglichte, war verbunden mit dem Beginn eines Dialogs, befreit von alten Emotionen, Spannungen und Vorurteilen. Dieser Artikel zielt darauf ab, die Frage zu beantworten, ob es möglich ist, das Mysterium Mariens, ihren Platz und ihre Rolle in der Kirche im Rahmen des geführten ökumenischen Dialogs neu zu lesen, was zu einer Einigkeit in der Frage ihrer mütterlichen Fürsprache führt.
Nowadays Marian issues are a great challenge for participants in ecumenical dialogue. Noticing and properly reflecting them is of great importance in striving to achieve the unity of Christians, which is the will of Christ. Among the Mariological issues raised indiscussions between different denominations, one of the more difficult contentious issues is the doctrine of the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Differences between denominations in perceiving this issue, initiated in the era of the Reformation, became consolidated and exist to this day. Opening the relationship between divided Christians, enabling joint consideration of this disputed issue, was associated with the beginning of a dialogue, freed from old emotions, tensions and prejudices. This article aims to answer the question of whether it is possible to re-read the mystery of Mary, her place and role in the Church as part of the ecumenical dialogue undertaken, leading to achieving unity regarding the issue of her maternal intercession.

This article presents the possibility of a theory of natural law in Judaism from the Jewish perspective by listening to the Jewish tradition of scholarship on religion and philosophy. The first part of this paper is concerned with evidence for a theory of natural law in Judaism. It centers around the Noahide Laws and their influence on Gentile and pre-Simatic Judaism. The second part deals with Moses Maimonides and his ideas concerning the interpretation of natural law for Jews. The third part discusses Jewish scholars who have refuted the work of Maimonides and proposed various theories of natural law. They have been a consistent part of Jewish tradition and provide a path, however narrow, along which Jews may travel towards participation in global issues and work among non-Jewish people.

The three parts of the paper aim to draw the issue from the arrangements concerning the dialogue in general, ecumenical dialogue, and the dialogical dimension in particular, which is studied from the perspective of a unique document agreed on in multilateral dialogue with the World Council of Churches and the Roman Catholic Church. The document (agreed on 20 May 1993) deals with the very concept and necessity for ecumenical formation on one hand, and presents some reflections and suggestions on the other. It also speaks about ecumenical formation as a process through which, thanks to the Holy Spirit, Christians of various denominations strive towards complete unity in faith, in the sacraments and the Church. Therefore the following means of formation should be pointed out: the study of the divine Word, preaching, catechesis, spiritual life, cooperation in various charity and social initiatives as well as its faith sharing circles, such as: families, parishes, schools, various associations, groups and ecclesial movements. The final part of the paper focuses on postulates.
W całym treściowo-zakresowym brzmieniu artykułu myślą przewodnią we wszystkich trzech częściach jego przedłożenia było nakreślenie problemu, począwszy od ustaleń tyczących się dialogu w ogóle, dialogu ekumenicznego, a zwłaszcza dialogicznego wymiaru, którym usiłowano objąć z perspektywy unikalnego wręcz dokumentu studyjnego, uzgodnionego w multilateralnym dialogu Światowej Rady Kościołów i Kościoła rzymskokatolickiego, przybliżającego wprost pojęcie i konieczność ekumenicznej formacji oraz związane z nią refleksje i sugestie (dokument uzgodniono 20 maja 1993 r.). W artykule wskazano na środki formacji (np. studium Słowa Bożego, jego przepowiadanie, katechezę, życie duchowe, współpracę w różnych inicjatywach charytatywnych i społecznych itp.) oraz środowiska jej sprzyjające z wyakcentowaniem rodziny, parafii, szkoły, różnych zrzeszeń, grup i ruchów kościelnych. W ostatniej zaś części uwaga została skupiona na sformułowaniu postulatów.
