Opis:
The purpose of this article is to analyse the relations between students’ cultural and social capital and their competence test results in the field of the Polish language. The data come from the research carried out in 2013 in 60 middle schools in 5 provinces of Poland. Students filled in survey questionnaires regarding their school and family environment and 3 competence tests. Two types of socio-cultural capital were distinguished – soft and hard capital. The hard socio-cultural capital affects approximately 10% of the students’ results. If the soft and hard capital resources and the extent of identification with school were increased by one level, this would result in an average increase in the 1st form students’ results of the test regarding cultural texts analysis and interpretation by 21.4%.

This paper describes construction of the “Dip-Coater”. The Dip-Coater serves to preparing of thin layers in liquid solutions. The instrument holds the microscope slide and dips it into active solution matter by defined velocity. The sample is dipped in the active solution matter for adjusted time and it is pulled out also with defined velocity. The developed and functionally approved system was primarily applied in experimental deposition of thin layers. The system offered the real opportunity of successful applications in scholar tasks in educational process. Subjects that can contribute to the development and construction of the system are the technology education of machinery the applied electronics and computer science. Another aim of the idea is the exploration of the existing or developed instruments and machines in educational process. The process should be realized by the interactive observation and researching of machines focused to their principles of function and their construction. Obtained theoretical knowledge and practical skills should be applied in construction of the other devices with the same or similar principles but with different purpose. The project also includes development of own electronic controlling and interface circuits and original software.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie na tle aktualnych wyzwań zarządzania dydaktyką akademicką pożądanej formuły celów kształcenia, których realizacja z jednej strony wzmocni status szkół wyższych, a z drugiej umożliwi ich absolwentom efektywne funkcjonowanie zawodowe. Zaprezentowano istotę kształcenia akademickiego, zwracając uwagę na odróżnienie „przekazu wiedzy” od „uprawiania nauki”. Wskazano i omówiono główne wyzwania zarządzania dydaktyką akademicką, przed jakimi stają obecnie szkoły wyższe. Zaliczono do nich: szybką dezaktualizację wiedzy nabywanej w szkołach wyższych; niespójność relacji nauczyciel akademicki –student oraz dysproporcje rozwojowe zdolności poznawczych współczesnych studentów. Zaproponowano nową formułę celów kształcenia obejmującą trzy wymiary, a mianowicie: (1) rozwój wiedzy i umiejętności specjalistycznych; (2) rozwój wiedzy ogólnej i formowanie postaw oraz (3) wdrażanie do badań naukowych i rozwój zdolności poznawczych. Zaprezentowana formuła celów kształcenia oparta została na założeniu, że wszystkie wskazane wymiary powinny się dopełniać i tworzyć kompendium działań współistniejących. Kształcenie nie sprowadza się wówczas jedynie do przekazywania wiedzy jako rezultatów wcześniejszych badań, lecz umożliwia jej głębsze zrozumienie i rozwój indywidualnych zdolności pozwalających efektywnie funkcjonować w złożonej, zmiennej rzeczywistości. Artykuł opracowano na podstawie studiów literaturowych z zakresu współczesnej edukacji akademickiej głównie ostatniego 10-lecia. Wykazano, że dla przezwyciężenia widocznego w dotychczasowych programach studiów rozdźwięku pomiędzy wiedzą fachową a rozwojem zdolności indywidualnych istotne jest nadanie celom kształcenia wymiaru „naukowości” uwzględniającego udział studentów w badaniach naukowych i umożliwiającego osiągnięcie szerszego profilu rozwoju.
The aim of the paper is to present, against the background of current challenges of managing academic didactics, the desired formula of goals in academic teaching, the implementation of which will strengthen the status of higher education institutions on the one hand, and enable their graduates to experience effective professional practice on the other. The essence of academic education is presented, paying attention to the distinction between “transfer of knowledge” and “practicing science”. The main challenges of managing academic didactics faced by higher education institutions are pointed out and discussed. These included: quick obsolescence of knowledge acquired in higher education institutions, inconsistency of the academic teacher-student relationship and developmental disparities of the cognitive abilities of modern students. A new formula of teaching objectives including three dimensions is proposed, namely: (1) development of specialist knowledge and skills; (2) development of general knowledge and formation of attitudes; and (3) training in scientific research and development of cognitive abilities. The presented formula of teaching objectives was based on the assumption that all indicated dimensions should complement each other and create a compendium of coexisting activities. Teaching is not limited to transferring knowledge as the results of earlier research, but makes its deeper understanding and development of individual abilities possible, which in turn allows one to function effectively in a complex, changing reality. The paper was prepared on the basis of literature studies in the field of modern academic education, mainly from the last 10 years. It was shown that to overcome the discrepancy between professional knowledge and the development of individual skills visible in the current syllabuses, it is important to give educational goals a dimension of “science” taking into account the participation of students in scientific research and enabling the achievement of a broader development profile.

The study hereby proposed presents the activity of a Catholic college - Higher Theological Seminary in Koszalin in the years 1981-2011. The College came into being thanks to the efforts of Bishop Ignacy Jeż. In the above mentioned period, the college was administered by five rectors and seven administrative directors. There were 658 students (alumni) and 362 deacons, who took holy orders. During the six-year program of education, students learned the obligatory, pastoral and theological subjects as well as underwent practical training. The thesis defense took place in the fifth year of studies. The sixth year was intended for practicing and taking religious vows.

The political destabilization in the Middle East has caused such a significant wave of migration to European countries, that the situation has evolved into a migration crisis. Research on the awareness and opinions on mass migration conducted among a selected group of Polish youth show how differentiated attitudes are – from moderately positive to extremely negative. At the same time, almost everyone signaled that schools’ engagement in providing students with solid knowledge on migration was insufficient. In this context, this paper discusses the importance of taking account of students’ opinions in the planning of educational processes. If schools are to influence the attitudes of the young, they should create a space for dialogue and for students to express their opinions and values. Such activities, together with solid knowledge, will allow educational and pedagogical objectives to be reached.

Artykuł jest próbą przedstawienia wewnętrznego systemu zapewnienia jakości kształcenia w szkole wyższej. Problemy zarządzania jakością zostały ujęte z zastosowaniem podejścia systemowego. Proponowany system zarządzania jakością będzie uwzględniał założenia zawarte w Krajowych Ramach Kwalifikacji (KRK) dla szkoły wyższej. Zagadnienia poruszane w niniejszym tekście mogą stać się przyczynkiem do szerszej dyskusji nad wdrażaniem tego systemu w życie, a także mogą stanowić asumpt do przeprowadzenia badań empirycznych. W artykule sformułowano wiele pytań, na które trzeba poszukiwać odpowiedzi.
The article is an attempt to present the internal system of ensuring quality of education in universities. Problems of quality management have been formulated with the use of a system approach. The proposed quality management system will take into account the assumptions contained in the National Framework of Oualifications (KRK) for universities. The issues dealt with in this text may be a contributory factor to a broader discussion on the implementation of this system, and also can constitute an assumption for carrying out empirical research. In the article many questions needing answers were formulated.

Współczesny świat wymaga od człowieka nieustannego monitorowania własnych umiejętności i kwalifikacji. Ten edukacyjny proces związany jest współcześnie z kompetencjami określanymi mianem informacyjnych. W XXI wieku bowiem szczególną rolę przypisuje się umiejętnościom komunikacyjnym człowieka. Te właśnie kompetencje i umiejętności decydują o skuteczności zarówno w obszarze porozumiewania się ludzi, jak i generowania zasobów o charakterze ekonomicznym. Dzisiaj mówimy często, że informacja stała się usługą. Nie sposób nie zauważyć tej zmiany również w zawodzie bibliotekarza. Osoba wykonująca zawód bibliotekarza musi być przygotowana zatem na nowe wyzwania, wynikające z przemian społeczno-kulturowych. W tym kontekście, w artykule, poddano analizie różne obszary związane z pełnieniem roli zawodowej bibliotekarza. Starano się uchwycić współczesne uwarunkowania dotyczące kwalifikacji i kompetencji warunkujących dużą sprawność zawodową.
The modern world requires from a man constant monitoring of his own skills and quali-fications. In the 21st century, a special role is assigned to human communication skills. These competences and skills determine the effectiveness both in the area of communication between people and the generation of resources of an economic nature.Today we often say that information has become a service. It is impossible not to notice this change in the librarian profession as well.A person working as a librarian must therefore be prepared for new challenges resulting from socio-cultural changes. In this context, the article analyzes various areas related to the professional role of a librarian.Attempts were made to capture the contemporary determinants of qualifications and competences conditioning high professional efficiency.

The goal of the paper is to explore the life-long specificity of the educational process, with special attention devoted to a vast collection of the psycholinguistic and ecolinguistic variables which orchestrate one's education. The dynamics and complexity of the foreign language education, in the context of the Polish university, ask for the twofold psycholinguistic treatment, that is, for the intraorganism strategic competence and behaviour; and for the interpersonal intervention, in the form of the educational offer and individually designed classroom work. The study proposes a redefinition of the learning process, which may constitute the starting point of a revised methodological framework in the context of the university foreign language education.

The spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused global changes that have required adaptation to the new conditions of life. These changes have been in place in all areas of human activities, in particular in education. In 2020, people experienced the state of isolation and the restrictions that had never existed before. There emerged a need not only to provide a quick response to the crisis situations but also to maintain the educational process and not to lose the connection with students, which would be catastrophic for the educational system at the national level. The issues of distance learning have become habitual for educators around the world within a very short period of time. The transition to the new system of learning requires the search for innovative approaches to organizing the educational process and adapting scholars, teachers and students to new challenges and their solutions. The aim of the work is to analyze the condition and features of online and blended format learning under the quarantine conditions, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The paper analyzes the features of the distance learning process under the quarantine conditions, caused by the spread of COVID-19, at H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University. The study outlines a number of problems the teaching staff and students face in their training, and makes suggestions for improving online learning. The analysis determines the most effective means and online resources to be used in the conditions of distance learning. Furthermore, the research characterizes the features of the pre-service teachers’ practical training during their online or blended format internship at educational institutions of different levels.
Rozprzestrzenianie się pandemii COVID-19 spowodowało globalne zmiany, które wymagały adaptacji do nowych warunków życia. Zmiany te zaszły we wszystkich obszarach ludzkiej działalności, w szczególności w edukacji. W 2020 r. ludzie doświadczyli stanu izolacji i ograniczeń, które nigdy wcześniej nie istniały. Pojawiła się potrzeba nie tylko szybkiego reagowania na sytuacje kryzysowe, lecz także utrzymania procesu edukacyjnego i niezrywania więzi ze studentami, byłoby to bowiem katastrofalne dla systemu edukacji na poziomie krajowym. Zdalne nauczanie stało się codziennością nauczycieli na całym świecie w bardzo krótkim czasie. Przejście do nowego systemu nauczania wymaga poszukiwania innowacyjnych podejść do organizacji procesu edukacyjnego oraz dostosowania naukowców, nauczycieli i uczniów do nowych wyzwań i ich rozwiązań. Celem opracowania jest analiza stanu i cech uczenia się online oraz w formacie mieszanym w warunkach kwarantanny spowodowanej pandemią COVID-19. W pracy przeanalizowano cechy procesu zdalnego nauczania w warunkach kwarantanny spowodowanej rozprzestrzenianiem się koronawirusa SARS-CoV-2 w Narodowym Uniwersytecie Pedagogicznym im. H.S. Skoworody w Charkowie. Wskazano szereg problemów, z jakimi borykali się nauczyciele i studenci podczas szkolenia, a także sformułowano sugestie dotyczące poprawy uczenia online. Analiza pozwoliła na określenie najskuteczniejszych środków i zasobów internetowych do wykorzystania w warunkach kształcenia na odległość. Ponadto w badaniu scharakteryzowano cechy praktycznego przygotowania nauczycieli przed stażem oraz podczas stażu online lub w formacie mieszanym w instytucjach edukacyjnych na różnych poziomach.

Potrzeby determinowane przez dynamikę oraz złożoność i zmienność współczesnego świata stanowią ważne wyzwanie dla współczesnych systemów edukacyjnych i tym samym dla nauczyciela, który stawiany przed coraz nowszymi, niełatwymi zadaniami i wyzwaniami, musi nieustannie modyfikować swój warsztat pracy oraz doskonalić kompetencje zawodowe. Problematyce nauczycielskich kompetencji zawodowych poświęca się w związku z tym coraz więcej uwagi, uznając, że z powodu niepowtarzalności oraz nieprzewidywalności sytuacji edukacyjnych przygotowanie nauczyciela do pracy zawodowej powinno uwzględniać nie tylko kompetencje instrumentalne, ale także, a może przede wszystkim, kompetencje praktyczno-moralne. Zadania zawodowe realizowane przez nauczyciela determinowane są bowiem wyraźnie przez jego dyspozycje osobowościowe. Nauczyciel kompetentny, odpowiednio przygotowany do podejmowania różnorodnych, edukacyjnych wyzwań stanowi fundament funkcjonowania współczesnej szkoły. Poziom nauczycielskich kompetencji zawodowych jest więc bardzo ważnym wyznacznikiem efektywności pracy instytucji szkoły.
The complexity and changeability of the contemporary world constitute an important challenge for contemporary educational systems and for teachers. In responding to new, difficult tasks and challenges, teachers must modify their work methods and improve their professional competences. Increasing attention is paid to the issue of teaching professional competences, recognizing that due to the uniqueness and unpredictability of educational situations, the preparation of a teacher for professional work should take into account not only instrumental competences, but also, and perhaps above all, practical and moral competences. The professional tasks performed by a teacher are influenced by their personality dispositions. A competent teacher, adequately prepared to take up various educational challenges, is the foundation of the functioning of a modern school. The level of professional teaching competences is therefore a very important determinant of the effectiveness of the school institution’s work.

Opis:
The paper encompasses the results of research referring to problems faced by teachers engaged in distance learning. Their experiences closely connected with development of this method of knowledge transfer are discussed. The mentioned examples linked with e-learning activities given by practicians and researchers confirm that teachers' experiences directly affect their motivation which is the crucial condition for development of distance learning. There is also very important support given to teachers engaged in e-learning. The result of study presented in the article bases on qualitative field study encompassing ten educational centers in Poland.
