Opis:: Within the rapid changes in communication techniques, culture, pedagogy, and developments in knowledge, it is vital that educators are familiar with new educational changes, mainly those changes which are connected to technology. Change can be accompanied by fear, and thus some teachers might resist changing (Fullan, 2006). In the digital age, some teachers might be reluctant to change because they feel they are immigrants in the digital world (Prensky, 2001). In developing countries, such as Algeria and Libya, teachers might feel more frustrated because of the digital gap in their countries and because of the digital gap with the students (Warschauer, 2003). This conceptual paper aims at exploring the main factors that inhibit teachers from change. This paper focuses on teachers from k- to college teachers in general. The rationale behind dealing with teachers in general, and not teachers of a specific discipline is to explore the way teachers in low technology areas could see their development from a digital perspective. It is also assumed that digital education is needed in all fields of education as there are already policies about the integration of technology in education (Hamdy, 2007). In the context of this paper, change is defined as switch from Mindset 1 to Mindset 2. Educators with Mindset 1 consider the digital age as an extension of the industrial world; whereas educators with Mindset 2 believe the digital age is a post-industrial era, and the changes that are happening should be approached as new.

Opis:: Mark Prensky created a specific division of society into digital immigrants and digital natives. The aim of this article is to reflect on the challenge posed to contemporary catechesis by generations of digital natives. Among the various conclusions should be distinguished: concern for the development of faith of young people from the generation of digital natives, remember to build the right human relationship, learn to communicate with God, care should be taken for a simple language of catechesis that will show a loving Christ, care about the right image of the human person, supported by testimony, care about kind and authentic dialogue with man and with God. Responsible for the religious education of young people are mainly adults, implicitly: parents, catechists, pastors.

Opis:: In the study we present results of two research projects conducted simultaneously at the Faculty of Social Sciences, UWM in Olsztyn referring to the place digital technologies have in the learning processes in the opinions of Early Education students. The results show that the group of surveyed students might be situated on the borderline of digital natives and digital immigrants’ worlds. The conducted survey demonstrated limited trust to digital sources of knowledge amongst students and discrepancy between their personal experiences with using new technology, on a daily basis, and traditional ways of learning proposed by the University. The analysis of the case study indicated that for preparing future teachers to work with children (digital natives), it is important to organize a learning environment in which both worlds – digital and analogue – are connected.

Opis:: Celem artykułu jest pokazanie różnych podglądów na temat współczesnych użytkowników nowych technologii nazywanych digital nativ. Niektórzy autorzy określają dzisiejszych uczących się cyfrowymi ekspertami z racji permanentnego obcowania w sieci. Natomiast inni zauważają, iż przebywanie w wirtualnym świecie nie pretenduje do miana zaawansowanego użytkownika no-wych technologii. Temu przekonaniu towarzyszą wieloletnie spostrzeżenia autorki oraz wypowiedzi samych studentów, którzy często czują się osamotnieni w zetknięciu z akademicką rzeczywisto-ścią. Artykuł jest próbą pokazania, iż mimo ciągłych zmian, rozwoju technologii, zalewu informa-cji wciąż są pożądane relacje mistrz–uczeń.
The purpose of the article is to demonstrate various views on the contemporary users of new technologies, called Digital Natives. Today’s learners are called digital experts by some authors, because of their continuous existence on the Internet. In turn, others notice that existence in the virtual world does not elevate to the rank of an advanced user of new technologies. This belief is accompanied by long-standing observations made by the authors, as well as statements provided by the students them selves, who often feel lonely in their contact with the academic reality. The article is an attempt to show that despite constant changes, development of technology, inflow of information, the master-pupil relationship is still desired.

Opis:: Współcześnie dostęp do informacji jest właściwie nieograniczony, jednak problemem staje się „smog informacyjny”. Sytuacja taka powoduje, że współczesny uczeń, czy student znaczną część swojego czasu poświęca na przeskakiwanie z informacji na informacje, gromadząc je z różnym skutkiem i często nie analizując. W wielu przypadkach uczący się nigdy nie przechodzą z poziomu informacji na poziom wiedzy, kompletnie nie rozróżniając tych zagadnień i nie widząc problemu. Dodatkowo na proces uczenia nakłada się to iż cyfrowych tubylców uczą cyfrowi imigranci, nierozumiejący problemu uczących się. Rozwiązania tego problemu można poszukiwać w nowych metodach nauczania wykorzystujących nowe technologie. Wśród metod takich na uwagę zasługuje metoda WebQuest. W pracy opisano niniejszą metodę wraz z jej założeniami oraz wytycznymi do przygotowania i prowadzenia w kształceniu technicznym.
Nowadays access to information is virtually unlimited, but the problem becomes "information smog". This implies that a contemporary pupil, or student significant part of his time spends on the jumping from information to information, gathering them with different results, and often without analyzing. In many cases, the learner will never move from information level on knowledge level, completely not noticing the difference between these issues and without seeing the problem. In addition, there is a problem that digital natives are taught by digital immigrants which don’t understand the learners’ problems. Solutions of this problem can be sought in new teaching methods using new technologies. Among such methods, WebQuest is worth noting method. The paper describes this method along with its assumptions and guidelines for preparing and carrying out at technical education.

Opis:: This article delivers an analysis of the most important aspects of the effect the generational change makes in shifts in religiosity and spirituality among the youth groups. Especially the so called generation Z seems interesting and significant in that regard. The characteristics of that group show that the most important factor we must include in the interpretation of data on religion is related to the consequences of the technological and cultural transformation that occurs today globally. Thus the text emphasizes the relations between the digital realm and new religiosity of youth in fields like worldview, work or everyday habits. The perspective of sociology and anthropology of religion used here allows us to take a closer look at the latest currents in youth religiosity. The outcome of that analysis shows that it is crucial to take into consideration the fact that this religiosity is today regarded in a more personalistic but at the same time socially and politcally engaged manner.

Opis:: The time perspective has been the subject of various studies aimed at understanding human behavior.Our goal was to extend the growing literature in this field by studying the role of time perspectives in shaping online behavior among digital natives. 569 digital natives at the tertiary education level completed self-report forms assessing two major processes: time perspectives and online behavior. Adverse time-perspective biases were found to be related to rude, harsh, and distrustful online behavior. Present-oriented people displayed a high amount of online activity, while future-oriented ones showed a more functional approach to Internet use. Pastpositive and past-negative orientations occurred concomitantly with different levels of affability online. We discuss the findings and their limitations, along with suggestions for future research in this field. As it is possible to modify time perspectives, this study may contribute to the development of methods aimed at preventing undesirable online behavior and improving individuals’ well-being.
