Opis:
Thrust vector control systems of propulsion systems of dynamic positioning vessels are commonly applied on vessels with DP2 and DP3 class of DP. It was submitted the ways of providing information to dynamic positioning operator DPO about detecting of suspicion of failure in specific thruster and shown the ways of response in such situations. In the case of failure and shut down one of working thrusters, it must be done the possibility assessment of continuation of DP system safe operation. If such situation is not possible, it should be considered the work of DP system on limitations. It was indicated on safety threats during operation of DP systems resulting from system failure or even the design faults. It commonly applies the failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA or FMECA) from the design phase through sea trials until to the verification process during operation. It allows the elimination of majority of faults in the DP systems. It was communicated the basic conditions of safe operation of vessels with DP systems and the examples of conditions which releasing the readiness signal of DP propulsion system elements. Observed development of control and automatics systems will result in increasing the safety of DP systems operation.

Opis:
Improving the performance of Dynamic Positioning System in such applications as station keeping, position mooring and slow speed references tracking requires improving the position and heading control precision. These goals can be achieved through the improvement of the ship control system. Fractional-order calculus is a very useful tool which extends classical, integer-order calculus and is used in contemporary modeling and control applications. Fractional-order PI?D? controller, based on the added flexibility of fractional-order operators, are capable of superior performance compared to their integer-order counterparts. This paper presents the fractional order PI?D? controller designed to maintain the ship position and heading and the results were compared with classical integer order PID controller.

The purpose and scope of this paper is to describe the characteristics of and make comparisons between DP Offshore loading operation on Submerged Turret Loading system STL, Single Anchor Loading system SAL and Offshore Loading System OLS considering the hydro meteorological condition limits enabling safe ship’s operation offshore. These systems (STL, SAL & OLS) are designated to operate with specialized DP shuttle tankers, which are equipped with bow loading system (BLS) and optionally also with bottom submerged loading system STL. All above systems are typically used for short term mooring applications offshore associated with the offloading and/or loading of bulk liquid fuel tankers transporting refined and unrefined products of crude oil or liquefied natural gas LNG.

Opis:
Dynamically positioned vessels, used by offshore industry, use not only satellite navigation but also different positioning systems, often referred to as ‘reference’ systems. Most of them use multiple technical devices located outside the vessel which creates some problems with their accessibility and performance. In this paper, a basic concept of reference system independent from any external device is presented, basing on hydroacoustics and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) method. Theoretical analysis of its operability is also performed.

Opis:
This paper presents an innovation methodology for quantity assessment the safety of dynamic positioning in locally confined area of technological work performance under nonlinear dynamic disturbances of environmental factors. The methodology is based on new integrated paradigm of prediction coordinated components interactions, which form dynamic positioning system. Proposed methodology implementation effect is based on the analysis of complex models that form the knowledge base. The comprehensive reserve of controllable thruster’s reactions was adopted as quantitative characteristic of dynamic positioning safety.
