The mathematical model of dc motor was created. In model the commutator is approximated by circuit with variable parameters. Extremely different values are assigned to circuit parameters depending on the angular position of the rotor. Model equations were solved using implicit integration method. Commutation processes of dc motor were investigated with the aid of this model. Presented model can be extended and to take into account another phenomena occurring in dc motor.

Opis:
A new structure to design observers for linear systems is presented in this work. The key step is the construction of two layers where the first consists of multiple observers and the second connects them providing the weighted estimation state. The main difficulty is to find a new feedback which is responsible for control weights. To define observation law, we rely on multi observers from the first layer. The proposed structure significantly improves the transient characteristics of the observation process, which is shown in illustrative examples.

An early fault diagnostic method of Direct Current motors was presented in this article. The proposed method used acoustic signals of a motor. A method of feature extraction called MSAF-RATIO30-EXPANDED (method of selection of amplitudes of frequencies – ratio 30% of maximum of amplitude – expanded) was presented and implemented. An analysis of proposed method was carried out for early fault states of a real DC motor. Four following states of the DC motor were measured and analyzed: the healthy DC motor, DC motor with 3 shorted rotor coils, DC motor with 6 shorted rotor coils, DC motor with a broken coil. Measured states were caused by natural degradation of the DC motor. The obtained results of analysis were good. The presented early fault diagnostic method can be used for protection of DC motors.

controller strategy
Opis:
The aim of this study is to design a control strategy for the angular rate (speed) of a DC motor by varying the terminal voltage. This paper describes various designs for the control of direct current (DC) motors. We derive a transfer function for the system and connect it to a controller as feedback, taking the applied voltage as the system input and the angular velocity as the output. Different strategies combining proportional, integral, and derivative controllers along with phase lag compensators and lead integral compensators are investigated alongside the linear quadratic regulator. For each controller transfer function, the step response, root locus, and Bode plot are analysed to ascertain the behaviour of the system, and the results are compared to identify the optimal strategy. It is found that the linear quadratic controller provides the best overall performance in terms of steady-state error, response time, and system stability. The purpose of the study that took place was to design the most appropriate controller for the steadiness of DC motors. Throughout this study, analytical means like tuning methods, loop control, and stability criteria were adopted. The reason for this was to suffice the preconditions and obligations. Furthermore, for the sake of verifying the legitimacy of the controller results, modelling by MATLAB and Simulink was practiced on every controller.

For short distance (neighborhood) city transport of people, electric driven vehicle with advanced energy storage and electronic control system could assure fulfill essential requirements. range, acceleration ability and grade ability of electric driven small size city vehicle depend on: total vehicle mass, energy storage type and size, vehicle exploitation conditions (motorway, city traffic). Energy storage type and size optimization and full utilization of regenerative braking system leads to significant amount energy saving. Regenerative braking is particularly important in city traffic, where a lot of acceleration/braking cycles occur. Advanced secondary energy source consist of electrochemical battery and stack of supercapacitors. Using supercapacitors as an additional energy source makes it possible to improve battery life cycle and simultaneously to decrease the exploitation costs of electric vehicle. Short charging and discharging times of supercapacitors give ability to quick accept large amount of energy. In order to cooperate with batteries, a power electronic converter is necessary. Knowledge of vehicle energetic parameters could be obtained by model based simulation than verified by research testing. To estimating the energy consumption, energy recovery, range, acceleration and grade ability, simulation in MATLAB environment has been performed applying special low speed vehicle drive cycle based on ECE-15 driving cycle. The results of simulation are presented in this paper

This paper focuses on testing the monitoring system of the Direct Current motor. This system gives the possibility of diagnosing various types of failures by means of analysis of acoustic signals. The applied method is based on a study of acoustic signals generated by the DC motor. A study plan of the DC motor’s acoustic signal was proposed. Studies were conducted for a faultless DC motor and Direct Current motor with 3 shorted rotor coils. Coiflet wavelet transform and K-Nnearest neighbor classifier with Euclidean distance were used to identify the incipient fault. This approach keeps the motor operating in acceptable condition for a long time and is also inexpensive.

Opis:
Brushless DC motors (BLDC) are used more and more frequently used in mining drives which require accurate regulation of rotational speed. These motors are induced by means of permanent magnets placed in the rotor. The role of the commutator is taken over by an inverter which is controlled by electronic shaft position sensors. The use of BLDC generates some problems. One is the uncertain work of shaft position sensors in which the commuting elements are hall generators. During current commutation, and under the influence of strong external magnetic disturbances, the sensors may send false control impulses. As a result of that, there are false commutations of the inverter transistors. In order to have proper operations of the drive, it is necessary to reduce the impact of hall-generators uncertainty on the work of the machine. For this purpose the so called debouncing procedures are used. They allow to commute the circuit no sooner than it is certain that the rotor rotates by the defined angle. These procedures introduce some small delays of the transistors commutation moment. The article features the issues related to the use of debouncing procedures in high-speed high-power brushless motors (BLDC).

Mathematical models of two electromechanical systems consisting of a DC motor and an AC motor were built. To determine the moment of active (driving) torque as a function of angular velocity, Kirchhoff voltage equations were used in the system with the DC motor. In the system with the alternating current, equations determining the components of the stator and rotor vectors and the voltage equation were used. Both models include susceptibility and suppression of motion transmission systems. It was assumed that the speed control is carried out according to the preset traffic pattern in the feedback system in relation to position, speed and acceleration. The Runge-Kutta method was used to solve the equations. The author’s own simulation program was written, which allowed to determine the time of displacement, speed and acceleration of the output shaft depending on the resistance of motion and the adopted method of rotational speed control. Calculation examples have been provided. Conclusions and suggestions resulting from the simulation have been formulated.

Opis:
The development of photovoltaic (PV) panels has made solar-powered pumps a reality. The pump drivers are usually direct-current (DC) motors which are fed by power electronic converters with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) to extract the whole energy that the PV panels can generate depending on the environmental conditions including irradiation and temperature. The implementation of MPPT algorithm essentially involves sensing both an input current and an input voltage. Understandably, such realization is expensive. In this paper, a solar PV water pumping system based on DC to DC converter as MPPT module is considered. The system consists of a PV array, a DC to DC boost converter and the DC motor coupled to a centrifugal pump. A proposed method is employed to seek the maximum power point using the flow rate obtained from a single sensor. A comparison with conventional hill climbing technique is included in experimental results to prove feasibility of the proposed method.

Opis:
This document deals with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of universal motor operating at AC and DC power supply. Universal motors are used in a variety of applications and can be operated either at AC or DC supply current. The advantages of universal motors are especially high starting torque, very compact design and high running speeds. The drawback consists in the fact that the commutator and arcing brushes create electromagnetic interference (EMI), ozone and noise. This paper presents the results of oscilloscopic measurement of disturbing magnetic field in proximity of a universal motor at various speeds at AC and DC operation mode. The time derivation of the magnetic flux density is converted by an inductive coil to a voltage to be observed by oscilloscope.
