Cultural animation as a thought and teaching practice has numerous interdisciplinary contexts – genetic, functional, theoretical, objective-substantial and subjective-social. This multifaceted phenomenon of cultural animation determines it as peculiar and uptodate in the rapidly changing social reality. The recognition of cultural animation multiparadigmatisation lets us define it from various theoretical perspectives and place it in various disciplinary areas. This in turn requires from theorists and practitioners universal knowledge and competencies. When we impose these requirements on the areas of educational thought, we will indicate indirectly the heterogenic nature of the discipline.
Animacja kultury jako refleksja i praktyka pedagogiczna ma liczne interdyscyplinarne konteksty – genetyczny, funkcjonalny, teoretyczny, przedmiotowo - treściowy i podmiotowo-społeczny. Ta wieloaspektowość animacji kultury stanowi o jej specyfice i aktualności w dynamicznie zmieniającej się rzeczywistości społecznej. Uznając wieloparadygmatyczność animacji kultury można ją definiować z różnych perspektyw teoretycznych oraz osadzać w różnych obszarach dyscyplinowych. Wymaga to od teoretyków i praktyków uniwersalnej wiedzy i kompetencji, a gdy nałożymy te wymogi na obszary refleksj pedagogicznej, to wskażemy pośrednio na heterogeniczną naturę tej dyscypliny.

This article is devoted to the issue of cultural animation in educational practice. The authors share their experiences in the field of animation of educational activities for regional and global education of students of primary schools in Toruń during workshops carried out as part of the Toruń Science and Art Festival. The active and committed attitude of the participants in the classes was intensified by information and communication technologies constituting a specific transmission channel of the cultural components and elements of nature. The aim of the presented text is to popularize initiatives that stimulate socio-cultural and educational activity of citizens confronted with the emerging civilizational challenges of the 21st century.
Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest zagadnieniu animacji kulturalnej w praktyce edukacyjnej. Autorki tekstu dzielą się swoimi doświadczeniami w zakresie animacji działań edukacyjnych na rzecz edukacji regionalnej i globalnej uczniów toruńskich szkół podstawowych zdobytymi podczas warsztatów realizowanych w ramach Toruńskiego Festiwalu Nauki i Sztuki. Aktywną i zaangażowaną postawę uczestników zajęć potęgowały technologie informacyjno-komunikacyjne stanowiące swoisty kanał transmisyjny składników kultury i elementów przyrody. Celem prezentowanego tekstu jest popularyzacja inicjatyw pobudzających aktywność społeczno-kulturalną i edukacyjną współczesnych obywateli w obliczu pojawiających się wyzwań cywilizacyjnych.

The subject of our study is the positionality of children in the process of urban revitalization. We understand the city as a learning space. From our point of view changes introduced into that space are always interventions into children’s learning processes. In the article we present an empirically based reconstruction of practices of community cultural animations that aim at empowering children’s voice in the processes of revitalization. Konrad Dworakowski’s and Pinokio Theatre’s community cultural animations, realised from 2014 to 2019 in Łódź, offer interesting examples of such practices. Even though we build or argument on the basis of observations collected in Łódź, it can be reliably reflected in discussions on educational issues in urban changes in other post-industrial cities.

The paper provides an overview of changes in cultural animation and general characteristics of its paths of development during specific periods, in view of the social, political, cultural and educational changes. While determining the unique human and social, as well as philosophical background of animation, the authors referred to premises relating to underlying qualities of modern industrial societies and man of the industrial age. The main body of the paper was devoted to reconstruction of cultural animation developments in view of cultural changes, and to presentation of a multi-faceted theoretical and practical approach to cultural animation over the past few decades. This served as the background for outlining a personalistic concept of cultural animation, focused on creating conditions conducive to personal development and self-fulfilment of humans. In the light of the study, cultural animation has seen the major shift from focus on opposing elite culture to multiplicity of its contemporary paradigms which, to a considerable extent, share the same approaches and main intentions. The paper is intended to methodize the examined issue, or rather to collect the material allowing to correctly classify the phenomena underlying the developments in cultural animation.
Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia ogólny zarys przemian animacji kultury, ogólną charakterystykę kierunków jej rozwoju w poszczególnych okresach, na tle przeobrażeń społecznych, politycznych, kulturowych, edukacyjnych. Na szczególną, cywilizacyjno-społeczną i filozoficzną, genezę animacji wskazują konstytutywne właściwości nowoczesnych społeczeństw przemysłowych i człowieka ery industrialnej. Zasadniczą część artykułu poświęcono odtworzeniu drogi rozwoju animacji na tle przemian kulturowych oraz przedstawieniu wielopłaszczyznowości pojmowania i uprawiania animacji kultury ostatnich kilkudziesięciu lat. Na tym tle zarysowano personalistyczną koncepcję animacji kultury, zorientowaną na tworzenie warunków sprzyjających rozwojowi osobowemu człowieka czy też samorealizacji osoby ludzkiej. W świetle badań kierunek najważniejszych przemian animacji wiedzie od nastawienia na kontestację kultury elitarnej do wielości jej współczesnych paradygmatów, w większości zbieżnych w ujęciach i głównych intencjach. Prezentowany tekst ma na celu wstępne uporządkowanie tytułowego zagadnienia lub raczej zebranie materiału do działań porządkujących informacje o zjawiskach tworzących historię animacji.

Education is a process that always runs in the specified external considerations, in a specific place and time and cultural context. Besides this objective dimension is also a process that is perceived and experienced subjectively. This diverse and in some ways complex space education – defines, for example in the category of environment/educational environment. In long tradition the pedagogical reflection, taking into account the multiplicity of ways that impact the environment and his “presence” in a person’s life develops knowledge about its different types, but also the ontological, epistemological and axiological models. Knowledge of the environment is also, and perhaps above all a challenge for teaching practice which includes human lifelong activity. In this respect it has already identified a number of models such conduct educational that takes into the environmental conditions. We can talk about environmental education, socio-cultural animation and a whole range of educational activities undertaken and implemented and carried out on the basis of social work. Not without significance are also influences from other social sciences, which in conjunction with the activities characteristic of pedagogy expanded possible ways to the educational impact.

W niniejszym artykule autorka wyjaśnia, czym charakteryzuje się teatr codzienności, próbując zanalizować mechanizmy jego powstawania i oddziaływania w kontekście animacji kultury. Rozważania na temat teatru codzienności osadza w teorii animacji kultury w nurcie antropologicznym, który opiera się na całościowym widzeniu animowanej jednostki w uniwersum jej codziennych, ludzkich spraw, poprzez przyjęcie postawy charakteryzującej się orientacją partycypacyjną, nastawioną na partnerskie, podmiotowe relacje. Zarówno w tak rozumianej animacji, jak w pracy reżysera teatru codzienności niezbędne jest podejście antropologiczne, związane przede wszystkim z antropologią codzienności, która w szczególności uwrażliwia na niezwykłość codzienności. Autorka stara się wskazać na animacyjny potencjał teatru codzienności w zakresie narzędzi pracy z uczestnikami i możliwość wdrożenia tych narzędzi w działania animacyjne. Na dowód słuszności swej tezy przytacza działanie animacyjne, które wraz ze studentami zrealizowała za pomocą metod wypracowanych przez teatr codzienności.
In this article the author explains what characterizes the theatre of everyday life, trying to analyze the mechanisms of its formation and impact in the context of cultural animation. Deliberations about the theatre of everyday life are set in the theory of cultural animation of the anthropological context, which is based on a holistic vision of the animated individual in the universe of everyday human matters by adopting the attitude characterized by participatory orientation towards partnership relations and subjective interactions. Both, in the animation understood like that, and in the work of the director of the theatre of everyday life, the anthropological approach is necessary that is primarily associated with the anthropology of everyday life which in particular becomes sensitized to the uniqueness of everyday life. The author tries to draw attention to the potential of the theatre of everyday life related to animation in terms of work tools with the participants and the possibility to implement these tools in the animation activities. To admit that the author is right in her thesis, the animation activity is mentioned, which has been realized with students using methods developed by the theatre of everyday life.

Szlak kulturowy to nowe zjawisko społeczno-kulturowe. W świadomości społecznej utożsamiany jest raczej z trasą turystyczną wraz z istniejącymi wokół niej obiektami zabytkowymi. Jednak poza aspektem turystyczno-poznawczym, nie mniej ważny jest także aktywizująco-integracyjny. Obie te kwestie wywierają istotny wpływ na charakter doświadczeń kulturowych nie tylko turystów, ale i autochtonów. Szlak kulturowy zainicjował bowiem nowy model uczestnictwa w kulturze. Odwołując się z jednej strony do pierwowzoru podróży, a z drugiej mając na uwadze metaforyczność pojęcia drogi, prowokuje do podjęcia dialogu z historią i spotkania z „innymi” i ich kulturą. Dodatkowo wychodząc od specyficznej aranżacji rzeczywistości, przeplatającej przeszłość z teraźniejszością, w kreowaniu wizji „tu i teraz” wytycza zarys przyszłości, posiłkując się elementami dziedzictwa kulturowego. Działania podejmowane przez animatorów kultury zwiększają atrakcyjność szlaku kulturowego. W tym kontekście szlak kulturowy staje się narzędziem animacji pozwalającym na poszerzenie przestrzeni kulturowej.
The cultural route is the new socio-cultural phenomenon. In the social awareness it is rather associated with the touristic route, including its historical monuments. However, apart from the touristic-cognitive aspect that is of value, there is also an activating-integrating one. Both aspects have the significant impact on the character of the cultural experiences of not only tourists, but also autochthons. The cultural route has initiated the new model of participation in culture. On the one hand, it is referring to the prototype of the journey. On the other hand, though, it is embracing the metaphorical nature of the concept of the road. It provokes the dialog with history and meeting with the ‘other’ and their culture. Moreover, going beyond the specific interior of the reality, interleaving the past and the present in creating the vision of ‘here and now’, it outlines the future, on the basis of the elements of the cultural heritage. The actions undertaken by cultural animators are increasing the attractiveness of the cultural route, which becomes the tool of the process of expanding of the cultural space.

The specificity of the Warmia and Mazury region, a unique cultural mosaic paired with social problems, provided a space for building social engagement in the environment by involving the local community in socio-cultural activities. These actions resulted in changes to the living environment of individuals and social groups through their participation and engagement. The aim of the article is to present the results of research showing the views of animators regarding the impact of implemented social and cultural projects on stimulating social forces in small towns and villages of Warmia and Mazury. The research findings presented in the following section show the important aspects of this activity, starting from the sources/motives of creating projects and incorporating environmental resources into them, through cooperation with the local community and creating environmental leaders, to assessing the changes taking place as a result of the implemented projects. The presented research results allow for the conclusion that animators, through their project activities, contributed to permanent, positive changes in the local environment, awakening social forces (open and hidden), and to an increase in socio-cultural activity, both during and after the project activities.

In his life and the artistic work Jerzy Grotowski repeatedly brought up pedagogic topics. In years -70 of the 20th century, carried out the cycle of workshops addressed to adults being aimed for them experiencing not popular situations other than in the everyday life. He realized workshops of the Active Culture. He initiated the development of the animation of the culture and an amateur artistic movement of adults. His life and work was following the example of a demanding teacher. He regarded entire lives of the man as the process of the incessant development and self-improvements. His work constitutes inspiration for the adult education and a prehistory of cultural animation.

Opracowanie koncentruje się na potencjałach oraz barierach i wyzwaniach związanych z instytucjonalnym modelem animacji społeczno-kulturalnej. Na podstawie zebranego materiału badawczego wyodrębniono i scharakteryzowano animacyjne zasoby środowisk wiejskich (wspólnotowość, kreatywność, praktycyzm, lokalne dziedzictwo kulturowe, więzi społeczne, potencjał społeczno-kulturowy liderów) oraz najważniejsze bariery utrudniające prowadzenie działań o charakterze animacyjnym (polityczne, ekonomiczne, przestrzenne, infrastrukturalne, mentalnościowe). Cytowane w artykule wypowiedzi badanych dyrektorów odsłaniają ich indywidualne wizje działalności kulturalnej oraz związane z nimi możliwości i ograniczenia.
This article is devoted to institutional animation activities in rural environments. It presents the results of free interviews conducted with directors of communal cultural centers operating in the Lublin Voivodeship. The study focuses on the opportunities, barriers and challenges associated with the institutional model of socio-cultural animation. Based on the collected research material, the animation resources of rural environments (community, creativity, practicality, local cultural heritage, social ties, the socio-cultural potential of leaders) and the most important barriers hindering animation activities (political, economic, spatial, infrastructural, mentality) were identified and characterized. The statements of the directors cited in the article reveal their individual visions of cultural activities as well as the possibilities and limitations associated with them.

The local environment is a significant place of learning for adults. Adult education is clearly connected with the adult’s level of activity in his or her environment, due to which socialcultural animation, thanks to its close relationship with social activation, has become the subject of this article. Animation is currently a very popular method of work in local environments, but such activities are not preceded by in-depth diagnostic work. In the article the method for constructing a local environment diagnosis to make it as clearly related to animation activities is considered.
