Applications of Cloud Computing in enterprises are very wide-ranging. In opposition, educational applications of Cloud Computing in Poland are someway limited. On the other hand, young people use services of Cloud Computing frequently. Utilization of Facebook, Google or other services in Poland by young people is almost the same as in Western Europe or in the USA. Taking into account those considerations, few years ago authors have started process of popularization and usage of Cloud Computing educational services in their professional work. This article briefly summarizes authors’ experience with selected and most popular Cloud Computing services.

W niniejszym artykule rozważano możliwość korzystania z systemów klasy ERP w modelu cloud computing. W rozdziale drugim przedstawiono istotę systemów ERP. Opisano ich podstawowe cechy, zalety, a także korzyści wynikające z ich stosowania. Wymieniono również obszary działalności przedsiębiorstwa, które są przez system wspierane. Rozdział trzeci obejmuje najistotniejsze informacje na temat przetwarzania w chmurze. Przedstawiono m.in. definicję, modele i sposoby realizacji, atrybuty oraz bariery stosowania rozwiązań przetwarzania w chmurze. Ostatni rozdział poświęcono systemom ERP oferowanym w ramach przetwarzania w chmurze.
This article presents the possibility of use of ERP Systems in cloud computing model. The article contains key issues of ERP Systems, its features, pros and cons and the benefits of use of such systems. It contains also the possible areas of enterprises for the systems to support. The third part of the article is based on cloud computing, it contains the definition, models and possible ways of realization, attributes and barriers for such kind of possible data analysis. The last part of the article was dedicated to ERP offered in cloud computing.

Chmura obliczeniowa (Cloud Computing) stanowi obecnie ważny trend na rynku IT. Usługi Cloud Computing polegają na dostarczeniu i udostępnianiu wydajnych i skalowalnych zasobów IT (sprzętu, oprogramowania i usług), a usługodawca, którym jest zwykle podmiot zewnętrzny (ewentualnie wewnętrzny dział IT), oferuje usługi informatyczne odbiorcom za pośrednictwem sieci. Chmura obliczeniowa dynamicznie się rozwija zarówno w Polsce, jak i poza jej granicami i coraz częściej uzupełnia, a nawet zastępuje klasyczną formę wdrożeń technologii informatycznych w organizacjach. W artykule, na bazie raportów i opracowań firm analityczno-doradczych i innych organizacji, przedstawiono aktualny stan i prognozy rozwoju Cloud Computing w Polsce oraz niektórych krajach UE. Wskazano również bariery warunkujące dalszy rozwój Cloud Computingu w Polsce.
Cloud computing is now an important trend in the IT market. Cloud Computing services function by delivery and provision of efficient and scalable IT resources (hardware, software and services), and the service provider, which is usually an external subject (or internal IT department), offers IT services to customers via the network. Cloud computing is growing rapidly, both in Poland and abroad, and more often complements or even replaces the classical form of implementation of information technology in organizations. In the paper on the basis of reports and studies research prepared by different organizations the current status and forecast of Cloud Computing development in Poland and in some EU countries were presented. It also identified barriers conditioning the further development of Cloud Computing in Poland.

Cloud data storages in their internal structure are not using their full potential functionality because of the complexity of behavior of network traffic, which affects the quality of service. The paper describes various models of network traffic and analyzes the most promising models for cloud data storages that take into account the phenomenon of self-similarity. The result of research found the frequency of cloud data warehouse traffic and that the intensity of storage load mainly depends on the incoming and outgoing traffic. Sufficiently high value of Hurst parameter indicates the potential for modelling and prediction of con-gestion cloud data storage in the long run.

Punktem odniesienia dla wyzwań stawianych podmiotom odpowiedzialnym społecznie w branży logistycznej jest poszukiwanie rozwiązań upraszczających kompleksowość łańcuchów (sieci) dostaw i uelastyczniających ich odpowiedź na fluktuacje popytowe nielojalnych klientów, czyli umożliwiających np. stworzenie łańcucha wykorzystującego globalne zaopatrzenie (global sourcing) w realizacji dostaw w systemie Just-in-time przy jednoczesnym ograniczeniu całkowitych kosztów logistycznych, w tym ekologicznych i społecznych. Taką możliwość daje zastosowanie cloud computing, którego charakterystyka pozwala rozwijać przedsiębiorstwo w sposób dopasowany do bieżących zmian zarówno w przypadku globalnych operatorów logistycznych z sektora TSL (lub ekspresowych z sektora KEP), jak i wszystkich pozostałych podmiotów gospodarczych, których działalność jest związana z problematyką logistyki, w tym logistyki miejskiej. Artykuł prezentuje potencjał rozwoju sektora TSL poprzez wykorzystanie cloud computingu wobec wyzwań społecznej odpowiedzialności przedsiębiorstw. Wdrożenie cloud computingu migruje kompetencje sektorów na nowe, dotychczas niedostępne obszary i stworzy nowe oblicze konkurencyjnej logistyki w najbliższych latach (Cloud-driven logistics). Poza wpływem na wynik finansowy, jego zastosowanie ma wymiar proekologiczny i prospołeczny (Cloud-driven CSR).
TSL sector meets not only the problem of the negative impact on the environment degradation and discontent of local communities, but also, and perhaps above all, finding an effective method of achieving economics objectives. Those challenges can be met by use of cloud computing, which allows development of the company in a manner suited to the current demand fluctuations. The purpose of article is to present the potential of TSL sector development in the social responsible manner through the use of cloud computing (Cloud-driven CSR). Cloud computing will create a new organization model of the TSL and others logistics sectors in the coming years (Cloud-driven logistics).

The aim of this article was to look through new business concepts in IT, to define them, to see the services offered and the possibilities of use in practice. New technology ideas puts IT as a service. Great distraction of information and intelligent tools makes them ineffective and takes low advantage of them. Grid and Cloud Computing are the latest concepts in IT and offers the agility to business and universities as well. In other words, because of virtualization and abstraction the processes that occurs in these institutions can be managed swiftly, easily and effectively. Allows to make the most of company's resources. Physical locations of resources can be flexibly bounded and adjusted to current needs. Globalization and rapidly growing competition is forcing to apply the most innovative solutions. Taking in consideration the universities it is even more important when thinking of students as future human capital ,which should know the possibilities and be prepared the best. Sharing of computing, data centers, applications etc. on demand provides more powerful tools, more organized work and higher scalability and flexibility through inclusion of external resources. Grid and Cloud Computing have the potential to provide an IT infrastructure that addresses the demands of business while utilizing the IT resources most efficiently and cost-effectively.

Artykuł dotyczy celowości i możliwości wykorzystania chmury obliczeniowej w przedsiębiorstwach. Autorka przybliżyła pojęcie chmury, jej podstawowe cechy oraz omówiła modele świadczenia usług w chmurze. W dalszej części skupiła się na zaletach i korzyściach, jakie wdrożenie tego rozwiązania może przynieść przedsiębiorstwom. Dokonała także analizy słabych stron oraz barier powstrzymujących organizacje przed wyborem tej technologii. Rozważania teoretyczne wzbogaciła przytaczając wyniki badań empirycznych. Następnie scharakteryzowała światowy, europejski oraz krajowy rynek cloud computing, zestawiając aktualne dane statystyczne, dotyczące jego wielkości, usługodawców, usługobiorców oraz szacunków na przyszłość.
The article concerns the aim and possibility of using cloud computing in enterprises. The author determined the concept of cloud computing, its basic features and discussed models of services provided in the cloud. The next part focused on the advantages and benefits which implementation of this solution can bring to the companies. The analysis of weaknesses and barriers preventing organizations from choosing this technology has been made. Theoretical considerations were enriched by presenting the results of empirical researches. Then the author characterized the global, European and national cloud computing market, comparing current statistics relative to its size, service providers, recipients and forecasts for the future.

Recently, the rapid development of innovative technologies based on cloud computing has been observed. Many countries are not keeping up with the relevant legislation, while cloud computing adoption requires transparent and high-quality regulations. This paper is focused on European Union member states. It checks whether the quality of regulation has an impact on cloud computing usage in EU countries. As regulations, quality data from the World Bank’s Worldwide Governance Regulatory Quality 2021 indicator was used. Data on cloud computing usage from Eurostat questionnaires on ICT from 2021 were used. Between these variables, there is a moderate to strong linear correlation and causality. The univariate linear regression model was proposed to explain the impact of regulatory quality on cloud computing usage in a quantitative way. The regulatory quality indicator increased by one resulted in the increase in cloud computing usage by 21.56% by companies ceteris paribus. The model presented explains 40% of the variance for cloud computing usage by regulatory quality indicator. These conclusions can be valuable from the management perspective for governments that aim to increase the innovativeness and competitiveness of economies, for enterprises that consider the implementation of cloud computing services, and for non-governmental organizations that can have an impact on legislation to contribute to economic development.

In this paper a RSA based security system enabling the group of users to upload the single masked message to the cloud environment is proposed. Data stored are encrypted using RSA algorithm. The data receiver is able to encrypt the message retrieved from the cloud environment using private key. Two different separate RSA systems are used. The presented approach is divided into three parts. First, an RSA key is generated for each sender. Then masking the message by newly chosen mask proposed individually by every member, additionally encrypted by individual RSA private key of each member is proceed. Next, encrypting the gathered message inside the cloud environment, using the public key of the receiver is executed. In the third step, the message is decrypted by the receiver using his private RSA key. The scheme reduces the computational load on users side and transfers calculations and storage effort to the cloud environment. The proposed algorithm was developed for storing and sending the data that originally are produced by a group of users, but the receiver of the data is single. It was implemented using Java 8 and OpenStack software. Numerical test of different key length for RSA are presented.

Artykuł jest poświęcony kwestii możliwości redukcji kosztów związanych z infrastrukturą IT organizacji i ich funkcjonowaniem w kontekście wykorzystania przez nie modelu cloud computing, cieszącego się coraz większą popularnością. Artykuł składa się ze wstępu i pięciu części. W pierwszej została przedstawiona krótka analiza wydatków przeznaczanych przez współczesne organizacje na technologie informatyczne. Następnie zdefiniowano pojęcie cloud computing, przedstawiono podstawowe elementy tego podejścia oraz zaprezentowano najważniejsze przyczyny jego rozwoju. Kolejna cześć artykułu została poświęcona analizie różnych aspektów związanych z modelem cloud computing, mogących być źródłem redukcji kosztów. Przedostatnia część artykułu zawiera analizę perspektyw rozwoju i wykorzystania rozwiązań „chmurowych”. Uwzględniono w tym kontekście badania dotyczące sektora MŚP oraz przykłady związane z sektorem publicznym w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Końcowa cześć artykułu zawiera najważniejsze wnioski i konkluzje.
This paper is devoted to the issues concerning reduction of costs connected with IT infrastructure of organizations and their functioning in the context of the more and more popular cloud computing approach used by them. It is composed of five parts. In the first part, a short analysis of money allocated by contemporary organizations for information technology is presented. Next, the notion of cloud computing is defined and the basic elements of this approach are presented along with the most important reasons for its development. The next part is devoted to the analysis of various issues connected with the cloud computing approach which can be the source of the reduction of costs. The penultimate part of the paper contains an analysis of the prospects for the development and utilization of cloud solutions. The results of the research concerning SMEs and cases connected with the public sector are presented in this context. In the final part of the paper, the most significant conclusions and suggestions are offered.

For example, an organization may store sensitive client data in house on a private cloud application, but interconnect that application to a business intelligence application provided on a public cloud as a software service. This example of hybrid cloud extends the capabilities of the enterprise to deliver a specific business service through the addition of externally available public cloud services. Hybrid cloud adoption depends on a number of factors such as data security and compliance requirements, level of control needed over data, and the applications an organization uses. Another example of hybrid cloud is one where IT organizations use public cloud computing resources to meet temporary capacity needs that cannot be met by the private cloud. This capability enables hybrid clouds to employ cloud bursting for scaling across clouds. Cloud bursting is an application deployment model in which an application runs in a private cloud or data center and „bursts” to a public cloud when the demand for computing capacity increases.

This paper presents the results of a study conducted in Slovenia between January and June 2011 in Slovene micro-enterprises. We used a structured questionnaire with some demographic questions about business computerization, the owner’s characteristics and some questions about the level of awareness of Cloud computing and what significance have the listed properties of Cloud computing services for owners to hire Cloud solutions. The results show that almost two thirds of micro-enterprises did not know anything about Cloud computing at that time. One of the most important information source on Cloud computing was the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Micro-enterprises showed the highest interest in the possibility of hiring IaaS – data store capacities and backups. As the most important characteristics they highlight reliability, security and performance of Cloud solutions. The results of this study were compared with the outcome of some other comparable studies, and some recommendations for micro-enterprises are given.

The most recent incarnation of distributed paradigm is cloud computing. It can be seen as the first widely accepted business model of mass consumption of the distributed computing resources. Despite the differences in business models and technical details regarding cloud platforms, the distributed computing underlies cloud. Communications in cloud systems include transmissions of the results of cloud applications, users interactions, and exchange of data between different services that compose applications. The latter becomes more critical as applications become richer as well as more complex, and may consist of services operated by various providers. The effective communication between components of cloud systems is thus critical to the end user satisfaction and to the success of cloud services. We will discuss different cloud computing models (communication aware and unaware). Main focus will be placed on communication-aware directed acyclic graph (CA-DAG), which extends the classical DAG model by explicitly modeling communication tasks. Moreover, we will analyze and consult computational complexity of this innovative distributed computation model inspired by the characteristics of cloud computing. Providing a proof of strong NP-hardness of the problem allows for a future implementation and evolution of the communication-aware DAG models.

The main features of the Cloud Computing system developed at IFJ PAN are described. The project is financed from the structural resources provided by the European Commission and the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education (Innovative Economy, National Cohesion Strategy). The system delivers a solution for carrying out computer calculations on a Private Cloud computing infrastructure. It consists of an intuitive Web based user interface, a module for the users and resources administration and the standard EC2 interface implementation. Thanks to the distributed character of the system it allows for the integration of a geographically distant federation of computer clusters within a uniform user environment.

The purpose of this paper is to present the idea of using cloud computing and RFID identification system in a car park. The presented system is able to navigate a vehicle to a parking space in the shortest time and to reduce traffic jams thanks to RFID transponders built in parking spaces. The system uses a combination of autonomous and master control to navigate the vehicles. It can execute different traffic scenarios depending on the availability of park spaces and navigate each vehicle using an autonomous route. A dedicated software algorithm for the navigation was also proposed and developed. The system utilizes an external cloud-based database of RFID transponders. A prototype model of car park equipped with RFID technology was designed and built to demonstrate the presented idea.

Currently, cloud computing models are provided with increasing a number of new functionalities. The paper describes a laboratory model of intelligent KNX system which makes it possible to test the practical use of cloud computing in components programming for this system. The cloud computing elements were used for this purpose. Innovatory features of services transferred to the cloud computing models consists in the integration of advanced IT techniques and Internet technologies based systems with the users services, in this case with the management of an intelligent building system. The software ETS5 installed on workstation is another important component of the station being discussed.

Companies managing supply chains are increasingly facing a decision to migrate or start operating in the digital world. Gaining competitive advantage by means of supply chain management means sharing the information which is perceived as the evidence of trust between partners. Digital Supply Chains are based on technologies that enable increasing competitiveness mainly by delivering information in real time simultaneously to many supply chain partners. However the type and range of the information shared indicates the level of trust. Research results show that partners in supply chain were sharing information about inventory and transport activities. These are the main areas of competing by logistics and supply chain management. The aspect of partnership and cooperation was also raised in the research. Cloud computing had been willingly used in Supplier Relationship Management, Customer Relationship Management and Customer Service Management processes by the respondents.

In this paper the authors are discussing a community-driven system for reporting via smartphones road acceleration data, processed on-the-fly in the cloud computing system for finding possible road artefacts as well as assessing overall road quality on the driver-friendly RRUI scale. The proposed system uses smartphones mounted in a car with little to no calibration or initial setup. By performing a fast analysis in the cloud, data are made immediately available for other users. The system continuously sends to end users' devices data about road quality issues "in exchange" for acceleration information.

Akronim CRM, czyli zarządzanie relacjami z klientem jest rozumiane na wiele sposobów, od prostego programu komputerowego, przez sposób zarządzania kluczowymi klientami, a na filozofii biznesu kończąc. Istotny element w zarządzaniu relacjami z klientem stanowią niewątpliwie nowoczesne technologie przetwarzania informacji i komunikacji. Część rozwiązań jest od pewnego czasu dostarczana w ramach przetwarzania w chmurze. W artykule rozważano możliwość wykorzystania przez małe przedsiębiorstwa aplikacji, które wspomagają zarządzanie relacjami z klientem, oferowanych w ramach modelu SaaS.
CRM is considered on different ways. It contains the whole variety of methods: simple computer program, the way of managing of key clients, and the philosophy of business. The main idea of CRM is based on new technologies of gathering and transforming of pieces of information. Part of those solutions is now placed in cloud. The article presents possibility of use of applications supporting small enterprises in order to CRM relations which are part of SaaS model.

Cloud Computing allow the users to dynamically provide computing resource to meet their information technology needs. Cloud computing is being rapidly adopted by many organizations from different domains and large amounts of data is stored in the cloud. In order to ensure data security, the attribute-based access control mechanism has been emerging recently as a fine-grained access control model that grants access based on the data user’s attributes. In this model, the data owner builds the access policy using the attributes of the data users and access to the data is granted only if the requirements of such an access policy are satisfied. Ciphertext policy-based attribute-based encryption (CPABE) is one of the most widely used methods for providing encrypted access control. Complex, time consuming and costly paring operations are the major issue with the CPABE method. Hence, another efficient method is needed to reduce the data user’s overhead while decrypting data. This paper presents an efficient method consisting in outsourcing decryption operations to a third-party server, so that complex operations may be performed by that machine with only some simple calculations left on the data user’s side. The concept of a hierarchical access structure is also integrated with the traditional CPABE technique. The hierarchical approach enables the data owner to encrypt multiple data using a single common hierarchical access structure. This allows the user to decrypt only the relevant part of ciphertext, depending on which fragment of the hierarchical access structure is satisfied. The paper evaluates also the performance of the proposed model in terms of time and storage cost.

Cloud computing is a business model with high degree of flexibility, scalability in providing infrastructure, platform and software as a service over the internet. Cloud promises for easiness and reduced expense to service providers and consumers. However, a lack of trust between these two stakeholders has hindered the universal accep¬tance of cloud for outsourced services. In this paper, a fuzzy based trust management system is proposed to facilitate cloud consumers in identifying trustworthy providers. The performance of the proposed system is validated through a simulation using CloudAnalyst and Simulink.

This paper addresses a new cloud solution for e-Ordering and e-Invoicing solution. We faced several challenges in the process of the migration of the existing web application on the cloud, such as the reorganization of the proposed non-cloud model and the definition of the software modules that can communicate in a dynamic environment. In the design process we classified two kinds of software modules: static and dynamic. The classification is based on the level of required elasticity and scalability, as well as the activity that is associated with the corresponding module (tool). To finalize the implementation of this idea, we have developed indicators to determine the required conditions for the activation of additional cloud resources or the deactivation of the involved resources. The result of this design process is a new cost-effective solution with increased availability and performance compared to the non-cloud model. We also recognized the advantages and disadvantages of such a cloud solution, and discussed the characteristics that make our approach unique.

As the cloud computing is spreading round the world, want of inter cloud communication is turning into a growing in the organizations. Hybrid cloud storage may be a storage technique that uses internal and external cloud applications, infrastructure and storage systems to create integrated storage design. Hybrid cloud may be a classification in cloud computing atmosphere that utilizes a collaboration of on-premises, private cloud and third-party, public cloud services with orchestration between the two platforms. By permitting workloads to transfer between private and public clouds, the computing requirements and prices modification, hybrid cloud offers businesses larger flexibility and additional information deployment choices. Hybrid cloud is especially valuable for dynamic or extremely changeable workloads. This paper describes the needs, deployment, storage, applications and issues of hybrid cloud.

This paper presents a multi-layered architecture of computer simulation software capable of utilizing grid and cloud resources, characterized in that the functionality of the system is distributed according to a service-oriented approach, and the system supports the execution of custom user-defined computing scenarios in grid or in cloud (by web services orchestration with an adherence to existing standards) but hides the complexity of direct web services management from the user with the help of the abstract workflow model and a web-accessible problem solving environment with a graphical workflow editor.

Współczesne zarządzanie przedsiębiorstwem wymaga zastosowania właściwych technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych. W chwili obecnej niezwykle dynamicznie rozwija się model przetwarzania w chmurze obliczeniowej (Cloud Computing) oferujący korzystanie za pośrednictwem sieci z różnych zasobów IT (sprzęt, platforma, oprogramowanie) w formie usług. Rozwiązania IT dostępne w chmurze obliczeniowej mogą być wykorzystywane zarówno przez duże, jak i mniejsze przedsiębiorstwa. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie możliwości wspomagania działalności przedsiębiorstw rozwiązaniami IT dostępnymi w chmurze obliczeniowej oraz wskazanie korzyści, zagrożeń i perspektyw rozwoju modelu Cloud Computing. W artykule na wstępie przedstawiono zarys modelu Cloud Computing, następnie określono jego korzyści i zagrożenia oraz omówiono możliwości wspierania działalności przedsiębiorstw rozwiązaniami IT dostępnymi w chmurze obliczeniowej. Wskazano również niektóre wyniki badań odnoszące się do wykorzystywania chmury obliczeniowej w polskich przedsiębiorstwach. W końcowej części artykułu zaprezentowano wstępne wyniki badań ankietowych dotyczące użytkowania rozwiązań dostępnych w modelu Cloud Computing. Wyniki badań wskazują, iż rozwiązania IT dostępne w chmurze obliczeniowej są pozytywnie postrzegane przez respondentów w zakresie usprawniania działalności przedsiębiorstw.
The contemporary enterprise management requires the use of appropriate information and communication technologies. At present, the cloud computing model is developing dynamically, offering the use of various IT resources (hardware, platform, software) in the form of services via the network. IT solutions available in the cloud can be used by both, large and small enterprises. The main purpose of the article is to present the possibilities of supporting business operations with IT solutions available in the cloud computing and to indicate the benefits, threats and further development perspectives of the Cloud Computing model. The article introduces the outline of the Cloud Computing model, defines its benefits and threats, and discusses the possibilities of supporting business operations with IT solutions available in the cloud computing. Some research results relating to the use of cloud computing in Polish enterprises were also indicated. The final part of the article presents the preliminary results of surveys on the use of solutions available in the Cloud Computing model. The research results indicate that IT solutions available in the cloud are positively perceived by respondents in the field of improving the operations of enterprises.

Rosnąca liczba infrastruktur danych przestrzennych oraz sieciowych usług geoinformacyjnych, przyczyniła się do opracowania raportu Status Jor the invocation of INSPIRE Spatial data services (Cattaneo, Villa, 2011). Dokument ten jest dostępny na stronie internetowej INSPIRE (http://inspire.jrc.ec.europa.euJ). Dokonano w nim przeglądu różnych technologii dotyczących usług sieciowych, które są dostępne w rozproszonych środowiskach obliczeniowych i mogą znaleźć zastosowanie w rozproszonej infrastrukturze danych przestrzennych (SOI, ang. Spatial Data Infrastructure). Jedną z takich technologii wymienionych w raporcie jest przetwarzanie w chmurze (ang. cloud computing). Przetwarzanie w chmurze to obecnie jeden z najważniejszych trendów rozwoju branży IT. Z technicznego punktu widzenia rozwiązanie to stanowi połączenie dwóch metod: przetwarzania siatkowego (klastrowego) i przetwarzania usługowego (na żądanie). Chmura obrazuje architekturę udostępnianych usług. Obliczenia nie obciążają komputerów użytkowników, ponieważ obsługiwane są przez serwery. Również oprogramowanie zainstalowane jest na serwerach. Użytkownik widzi jedynie interfejs. Usługi mogą być dostarczane przez różne jednostki. Obrzeża chmury stanowią komputery użytkowników, na których dane nie są gromadzone, a jedynie mają zapewnić dostęp do danych. Zastosowanie modelu chmurowego pozwala przede wszystkim na uniezależnienie od fizycznej architektury i wszystkich związanych z tym ograniczeń. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie głównych założeń koncepcji przetwarzania w chmurze oraz zalet i wad tej technologii, w kontekście jej zastosowania do budowy infrastruktur danych przestrzennych. Artykuł ma charakter przeglądowy i sprowadza się do przedstawienia podstawowych informacji o modelu chmury obliczeniowej, ze zwróceniem szczególnej uwagi na znaczenie tego trendu dla rozwoju infrastruktur danych przestrzennych (SOI), w tym europejskiej infrastruktury informacji przestrzennej (INSPIRE). Informacje w kolejnych dwóch rozdziałach "Przetwarzanie w chmurze" i "Możliwości i ograniczenia modelu chmury obliczeniowej" podano korzystając z opracowania" Cloud - Z głową w chmurach" (Ogórek, 2010).
Cloud computing is currently one of the most important IT development trends. From the technical point of view, this solution is a combination of two methods: grid computing and utility computing. The cloud presents an architecture of available services. Computations do not overload users/ computers, since they are operated by servers. Software is also installed on servers. The user has only an interface to them. Services can be provided by different institutions. Users/ computers, that do not gather data, but only enable the access to them, make up the" cloud borders". The application of a cloud model allows to make an infrastructure that is independent of physical architecture and all of its limitations. The aim of this paper is to present the main principles and paradigms of cloud computing conception and also the pros and cons of this technology within a context of building the Spatial Data Infrastructures. This elaboration gives a brief overview of cloud computing and particularly heeds to this trend significance for development of spatial data infrastructures, including the Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe (INSPIRE).

Nowadays operated telematics systems offer a large collection of different types of services requiring an effective transmission of data in complex structures. It is possible by the implementation of the present network solutions for the future of telecommunications and information technology. A high level of requirements for the quick access to transport resources and databases impose the necessity of making a number of processing operations information in a short time. Single computing machines are not able to do that. Therefore, the dynamic evolution is observed to combine the processing power of cloud computing. The advantage of this solution is a fulfillment of the requirements of security, reliability and quality while reducing costs. The authors of the article presented the concept of the use of private cloud for handling traffic between major railway hubs. Basis for this is representative model CC called „infrastructure as a service” designed for heterogeneous structures.

This paper presents a navigation system structure for mobile service robots in the agent-based distributed architecture. The proposed navigation system is a part of the RAPP framework. The RAPP framework is an open-source software platform to support the creation and delivery of robotic applications, which are expected to increase the versatility and utility of robots. All key navigation tasks are defined and divided into separate components. The proper allocation of navigation components, in the fouragent structure of the RAPP infrastructure, enables highdemanding computations offloading and was the main goal of this work. Navigation system components were implemented using ROS framework. Experimental results for the NAO robot executing risks detection task proved the validity of the proposed approach.

In recent years ad-hoc parallel data processing has emerged to be one of the killer applications for Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) clouds. Major Cloud computing companies have started to integrate frameworks for parallel data processing in their product portfolio, making it easy for customers to access these services and to deploy their programs. However, the processing frameworks which are currently used have been designed for static, homogeneous cluster setups and disregard the particular nature of a cloud. Consequently, the allocated compute resources may be inadequate for big parts of the submitted job and unnecessarily increase processing time and cost. We discuss the opportunities and challenges for efficient parallel data processing in clouds and present our research project Nephele. Nephele is the first data processing framework to explicitly exploit the dynamic resource allocation offered by today’s IaaS clouds for both, task scheduling and execution. Particular tasks of a processing job can be assigned to different types of virtual machines which are automatically instantiated and terminated during the job execution. Based on this new framework, we perform extended evaluations of Map Reduce-inspired processing jobs on an IaaS cloud system and compare the results to the popular data processing framework Hadoop.

KASKADA is a computing platform for developing and running services and applications oriented to multimedia processing and data streaming. A solution for serving the platform in the PaaS model is presented. The paper briefly describes the software for creating the private cloud solutions and the components designed and implemented to enable hosting the platform in the cloud environment based on the OpenStack software. The cloud has been deployed to a supercomputer working in C2 NIWA at the Gdansk University of Technology. This article assumes the reader’s basic knowledge of the KASKADA platform.

The purpose of the article/hypothesis. This article aims to introduce the concept of creative destruction in relation to transformative solutions in finance based on the example of FinTech and innovative technologies with special emphasis on blockchain and cloud computing. As a means to reach its objective this paper analyzes in depth the concept of creative destruction originated by Schumpeter in 1940s and translates it to modern business financial environment to present the reader with double-sided effects of introduced changes, their unique and unprecedented character both from the perspective of FinTech and traditional financials intermediares. Methodology. In order to research the effects of innovations on the financial markets the critical study of the foreign literature will be conducted. Results of the research. The conducted considerations displayed a parallel between innovations introduced by FinTech and actions undertaken by traditional financial institutions in order to remain strong players on the financial market. Even though solutions provided by start-ups may debilitate gained trust, which is one of the fundamental cores of finance, and raise questions related to breach of established regulations, they support the market with increased efficiency and variability of products and services. However, it can be easily perceived that advantages of introduced solutions outweigh possible dangers, and financial intermediaries, especially banks, decide to operate on the basis of the engagament model that supposes a synergy with start-up to blend favourable aspects of both of them including banks’ well-established repute and trust along with FinTech’s innovative potential.

Cel: Głównym celem artykułu jest dokonanie przeglądu literaturowego dotyczącego cyfryzacji i digitalizacji w mikro i małych przedsiębiorstwach. Pytanie badawcze: czy mikro i małe podmioty wykorzystują cyfryzację w systemie rachunkowości. Metodologia: Dokonano systematycznego przeglądu literatury oraz aktów prawnych dotyczących procesów cyfryzacji i digitalizacji. Wnioski: Cyfryzacja oraz digitalizacja stała się nieodłącznym elementem rachunkowości. Wpływ na to miało kilka czynników: powszechny dostęp do Internetu i rozwój technologii, regulacje prawne, a także pandemia Covid-19, która uwydatniła braki i jednocześnie przyczyniła się do przyspieszenia stosowania cyfryzacji. Zalety to: ułatwienie przekazywania i pozyskiwanie informacji, umożliwienie szybkiego tworzenia raportów wewnętrznych, generowania dokumentów księgowych, zestawień i sprawozdań finansowych. Wady: konieczność aktualizacji programów księgowych, ryzyko słabego zabezpieczenia danych wrażliwych czy wysokie koszty. Ujawniona luka badawcza: mikro i małe podmioty w niewystarczającym stopniu wykorzystują cyfryzację w rachunkowości. Implikacje: Wyłoniona luka poznawcza jest inspiracją do podjęcia dalszych badań w zakresie implementacji cyfryzacji w rachunkowości. Oryginalność: Wnioski z dokonanego przeglądu i badań stanowią inspirację do podjęcia pogłębionych badań związanych z procesami cyfryzacji w rachunkowości mikro i małych podmiotów.

As the popularity of cloud computing increases, safety concerns are growing as well. Cloud forensics (CF) is a smart adaptation of the digital forensics model that is used for fighting the related offenses. This paper proposes a new forensic method relying on a blockchain network. Here, the log files are accumulated and preserved in the blockchain using different peers. In order to protect the system against illegitimate users, an improved blowfish method is applied. In this particular instance, the system is made up of five distinct components: hypervisor (VMM), IPFS file storage, log ledger, node controller, and smart contract. The suggested approach includes six phases: creation of the log file, key setup and exchange, evidence setup and control, integrity assurance, agreement validation and confidential file release, as well as blockchain-based communication. To ensure efficient exchange of data exchange between the cloud provider and the client, the methodology comprises IPFS. The SSA (FOI-SSA) model, integrated with forensic operations, is used to select the keys in the best possible way. Finally, an analysis is conducted to prove the effectiveness of the proposed FOI-SSA technique.

Ostatnio dwa pojęcia „cloud computing” oraz „katalog usług ICT” pojawiły się w architek-turze oraz w centrach danych budownictwa, więc zasługują one na należytą uwagę. Pojęcie „Cloud computing” zmieniło się w świecie technologii informacyjnych zarówno w modelu praktycznym, jak i biznesowym, bez wyłączania sektora obronnego. Może ono zostać scharakteryzowane jako dzielenie się oprogramowaniem i oprzyrządowaniem poprzez sieć. Cloud computing jako nowy model zasobów IT może znacznie zmniejszyć wydatki na zasoby IT i ich złożoność, jednocześnie doskonaląc optymalizację nakładów pracy i zwiększając poziom usług. Platforma Cloud jest skalowalna, dostarcza większe doświadczenie użytkownikowi i może być scharakteryzowana jako nowe metody zarządza-nia w Internecie. Katalog ICT spełnia główne zadanie ITSM – transformację ICT w nowy model zarządzania – poprzez zarządzanie zdefiniowane jako usługi ICT. Katalog ICT jest listą różnorodnych usług dostarczanych przez ICT i usługodawcę ICT, zazwyczaj jednostkę zabezpieczającą ICT w organizacji. Powinna on posiadać dane szczegółowe dotyczące klienta i osoby odpowiedzialnej za jej utrzymanie. Dokument ten jest bardzo istotny dla pozytywnego wdrożenia procesu SLM, jak również dla całego ITSM. W rzeczywistości, po-maga on klientom i użytkownikom zrozumieć potencjał ICT.
Recently two phrases " Cloud Computing " and " List of ICT services " resonate in the field of architecture and building data centers. The two terms terms are the most in-flected ones and therefore they deserve due attention. The notion of cloud computing has changed in the world of information technology-based practices and business mod-els,with the defence sector as no exception. It can be characterized as sharing hardware and software resources through a network infrastructure. Cloud Computing as a new model of IT resources can significantly reduce spending on IT resources and complexity while improving optimization workloads and increase service levels. Its platform Cloud is strongly scalable, providing a superior user experience and can be characterized by new Internet management practices. The list of ICT fills the main idea of the ITSM - ICT trans-formation of the branch to a new model of its management activities - through supply management defined ICT services. The catalogue of ICT is a list of the various services provided by the ICT and ICT services supplier, usually representing a branch of securing ICT operation in the organization . It should contain characteristics defined by the ICT services , as well as details about the customer and the person responsible for their maintenance. This document is very important for the successful deployment of the SLM process but also for the entire ITSM . In fact, it helps customers and users understand the potentials of the ICT Department.

This paper describes the organization of the local cloud computing environment at the University of Leipzig and Wrocław University of Economics, developed in the framework of the LOGICAL research project. In particular, the architecture of the main components of the cloud portal are described as well as their references to VMWare software. An example of logistics application – LogBase on Demand − is shortly presented.

In machine tools, existing solutions for process monitoring and condition monitoring rely on additional sensors or the machine control system as data sources. For a higher level of autonomy, it becomes necessary to combine several data sources, which may be within or outside of the machine. Another requirement for autonomy is additional computing power, which may be hosted on edge devices or in the cloud. A seamless and modular architecture, where sensors are integrated in smart machine components or smart sensors, which are in turn connected to edge devices and cloud platforms, provides a good basis for the incremental realisation of autonomy in all phases of the machine life cycle.

Opis:
Cloud computing (CC) is a very popular model of service. It provides clients with dynamic infrastructure or platform to perform various tasks. Monitoring of underlying infrastructure enables providers to assure a certain level of quality of service. This article describes requirements and methodology of deploying monitoring system based on Nagios, for CC infrastructure based on VMware virtualization software. It also presents a case study of such system.
Cloud computing (CC) jest w dzisiejszych czasach bardzo popularnym modelem usług. W tym modelu, klient posiada dostęp do dynamicznej platformy lub infrastruktury do wykonywania różnych zadań. Monitorowanie infrastruktury będącej podstawą takiej usługi, pozwala usługodawcom na zapewnienie wysokiej jakości usługi. Ten artykuł opisuje wymagania oraz metody implementacji systemu monitorowania, bazując na oprogramowaniu Nagios, dla infrastruktury CC opartej o oprogramowanie do wirtualizacji firmy VMware. Dodatkowo przedstawia on studium przypadku takiego systemu.

Środowisko chmury obliczeniowej jest traktowane jako platforma integracji usług informatycznych z wykorzystaniem różnych koncepcji i modeli wdrażania. Wiele kryteriów oceny wskazuje, że jest to efektywna metoda dostarczania różnorodnych usług w rozległej sieci internetowej, wspierających działania biznesowe przy zachowaniu skalowalności, dostępności i bezpieczeństwa oferowanych usług.
In this article we have tried to identify possibilities of information services integration in the cloud computing environment. The cloud computing environment is treated as an integration platform for different models and concepts of IT services implementation. Many evaluation criteria indicate these solutions as an effective method of providing different Internet services, which may support business decision processes, proving their scalability, availability and security.

Cyber attacks against cloud computing discourage users to migrate to cloud computing. Cloud computing currently has weaknesses in terms of securing data. Unprotected data and weak storage security are potential threats to cloud computing. There are security risks and they should be considered carefully before enterprises migrate to cloud computing. Specifying cloud computing vulnerabilities and defining cyber attacks against infrastructure of the Cloud are the targets of this research. Mitigation of the non-technical problems may decrease the security problems. However, cryptographies, distributed denial of service and flooding attacks damage the servers and services. In this research, my aim is to demonstrate cloud computing vulnerability and the threats against data and storage. Once the cloud security problems are defined, the next step is to look for a solution. Using forensic methods to inspect intrusion attempts, implementing an online forensic workstation monitoring the login details of cloud authentication server, providing evidence of cyber crime are recommended.

Cloud computing to nowy paradygmat świadczenia usług informatycznych. Korzyści płynących z jego implementacji jest wiele, mogą one oscylować od redukcji kosztów do usprawnienia procesów zarządzania. Decyzja o wykorzystaniu tego modelu powinna być poprzedzona analizą biznesową, a w szczególności analizą kosztów utrzymania usług IT oraz ich wpływu na elastyczność dostarczania nowych rozwiązań informatycznych. Dla organizacji decyzja o migracji do chmury i o wyborze określonego jej modelu to wieloetapowy proces, który powinien uwzględniać nie tylko aspekty charakteryzujące usługę lub dane, których przeniesienie jest rozważane, ale również właściwości oferowane przez dany model chmury obliczeniowej. Decyzja ta warunkowana jest względami ekonomicznymi, ale także czynnikami technologicznymi właściwymi dla danego modelu chmury. Celem artykułu jest próba zdefiniowania kryteriów mających wpływ na decyzję o alokacji danych i usług w chmurze obliczeniowej, co może być pomocne w określeniu potencjalnych obszarów do zastosowania poszczególnych rozwiązań z zakresu przetwarzania w chmurze.

Multitude of competition concepts causes the necessity to search for theories corresponding most appropriately with the real life. Dynamic changes taking place in the economy of the twenty-first century bring new elements, which cannot be disregarded when analyzing modern processes of competing. Big Data, cloud computing and social networking are those aspects of the process of digitization of the economy that disrupted many activities of traditional companies. Easy access to enormous amounts of data makes its effective use become a huge challenge for many companies, as it changes the way they should consider the issue of being competitive. The aim of this article is to provide the review of latest research in the field and to identify the best models to be applied. The results of research confirm that revival of the model of perfect competition is currently observed. Classical analysis of market structures indicates its convergence with the model of virtual competition, which seem to describe best the structures of modern market.

With the rapid development of electronic technology, network technology and cloud computing technology, the current data is increasing in the way of mass, has entered the era of big data. Based on cloud computing clusters, this paper proposes a novel method of parallel implementation of multilayered neural networks based on Map-Reduce. Namely in order to meet the requirements of big data processing, this paper presents an efficient mapping scheme for a fully connected multi-layered neural network, which is trained by using error back propagation (BP) algorithm based on Map-Reduce on cloud computing clusters (MRBP). The batch-training (or epoch-training) regimes are used by effective segmentation of samples on the clusters, and are adopted in the separated training method, weight summary to achieve convergence by iterating. For a parallel BP algorithm on the clusters and a serial BP algorithm on uniprocessor, the required time for implementing the algorithms is derived. The performance parameters, such as speed-up, optimal number and minimum of data nodes are evaluated for the parallel BP algorithm on the clusters. Experiment results demonstrate that the proposed parallel BP algorithm in this paper has better speed-up, faster convergence rate, less iterations than that of the existed algorithms.

This paper presents performance comparison of operating systems running on different cloud environments. The main focus is to compare the performance of the cloud systems: Eucalyptus, Nimbus and virtual system. The performance, of the encountered at the present time solutions of the cloud and virtual systems, is considerably closer to the operating system installed locally. The results of the carried out tests show that in some areas the system installed locally performs better, but in the high throughput computing the cloud environment points out.
Artykuł prezentuje porównanie wydajności systemów operacyjnych uruchamianych w różnych środowiskach chmurowych. Główny nacisk położony jest na porównanie wydajności systemów chmurowych: Eucalyptus Nimbus wraz z system wirtualnym. Wydajność obecnie dostępnych rozwiązań systemów chmurowych i wirtualizacji jest zbliżona do lokalnie zainstalowanych systemów operacyjnych. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań wskazują, że w niektórych obszarach lokalnie zainstalowany system działa lepiej, ale w czasie, gdy wymagana jest duża przepustowość, środowisko chmurowe jest wydajniejsze.

This research study investigated whether the innovation of online video media spoken in both Thai and English with appropriate subtitles improved English skills for new students in Business Computing at Suratthani Rajabhat University. Ninety two students were split equally between an experimental group using video online media for learning and a control group learning the same content face-to-face in the classroom. Evaluation was conducted through achievement and satisfaction tests. Trials of the instructional media by 33 students with a range of English skills helped to improve it. At the end of the learning period all students using the video online media passed the achievement test standard but only 54% of the control group passed. There was no significant difference between the pre-test scores of the two groups. The post-test scores showed that the experimental group had a significantly higher average score (23.39) than the control group (14.89) at the p level of 0.05. The achievement test results of the experimental group (listening = 3.98, reading =3.89, writing = 3.93, speaking = 3.91, discussion =3.91, presenting = 3.87) were significantly higher than the control group (listening = 2.94, reading =3.07, writing = 2.72, speaking = 1.93, discussion =2.20, presenting = 2.20) at the p level of 0.01 in every English skill. The students’ satisfaction for the innovation rated out of 5 was at a high level overall (4.54), the students were satisfied with the innovation (4.67), the innovation was interesting (4.63), and the innovation was easy to understand (4.28).

Artykuł akcentuje wątpliwości dotyczące integracji usług uwierzytelniania w chmurze oraz poprawnej implementacji rozwiązań związanych z bezpieczeństwem informacji w wyniku projekcji standardowych rozwiązań na architekturę chmury obliczeniowej na podstawie studiów przypadków.
Cloud computing for several years has been building a strong alternative position for on-premise solutions in terms of the scope of functionality and cost accounting. One of the main doubts in the implementation of cloud solutions, however, remains the space regarding information security issues. The article emphasizes doubts regarding the integration of cloud authentication services, and the correct implementation of information security solutions as a result of the projection of standard solutions for cloud computing based on case studies.

Cloud computing presents scientists and engineers with new challenges related to the architecture of information systems and their use. This paper addresses the problem of deployment of decision supporting system in computing cloud. The author of the document presented the application of this approach that lies on intelligent discovery of web services within geographic information systems. Many important aspects of nowadays’ IT systems have been considered like the domain of Web GIS, network of agents architecture, semantics and ontology, integration of external knowledge bases, deployment of applications into the cloud. It has been proven that based on them, it is possible to create a software that uses a natural language to submit queries to a system whose operating environment is a PaaS (Platform as a Service) class platform. Another aspect discussed in this article was the approach to build so-called virtual organizations in which data and knowledge exchange takes place via web services. As an example, integration with Google Geocoding API is shown, where the web API provides geographic location based on the location expressed in natural language, e.g. home address, tourist point.

W artykule przedstawiono problemy związane z wykorzystywaniem przez system edukacji chmury obliczeniowej. Zwrócono uwagę na podstawowe zalety i wady chmury obliczeniowej Przeanalizowano obecny stan wykorzystania chmury obliczeniowej w edukacji i możliwości dalszego jej wdrażania w polskiej oświacie. Uwzględniono tak aspekty merytoryczne związane z jej wykorzystaniem, jak również kwestie dotyczące finasowania sprzętu teleinformatycznego niezbędnego do prawidłowego funkcjonowania chmury obliczeniowej. Przedstawiono problemy związane z utrzymaniem na odpowiednim poziomie stanu technicznego, infrastruktury chmury obliczeniowej w jednostkach oświatowych. Wskazano na konieczność szkolenia nauczycieli pod kątem efektywnego i bezpiecznego jej wykorzystywania. Omówiono komercyjne i bezpłatne programy, które mogą zostać wykorzystane przez uczniów i nauczycieli do korzystania z chmury obliczeniowej w procesie dydaktycznym.
This article presents problems related to the use of the cloud computing by the educational system. A special attention is drawn to basic advantages and disadvantages of a computing cloud. The present state of the use of the computing cloud in education is analyzed, as well as possibilities of its further introduction to the educational system. Substantive aspects related to its use, but also financial issues are considered. The latter strongly influence the teleinformatics hardware crucial for a proper functioning of a computing cloud. The maintained problems are presented, that include the level of use and the technical performance of the computing cloud infrastructure in the education units. The need of teacher trainings is emphasized, that will increase the effectiveness and safety of the use of the computing cloud. Both commercial and free software is discussed that may be used by the students and the teachers for the use of the computing cloud in the didactics processes.

The definition and the origin of development of such sets of data are presented in the paper as well as the construction of the ecosystem of the cloud computing technology in which Big Data sets are gathered and processed is described. Big data sets are reach sources of new information. Advanced IT analytical tools are applied to investigate its content in order to obtain a new knowledge. In the paper the emphasize is on sets of Big Data gathered within the digital humanities area and chosen examples of IT analytical tools currently applied for these purposes are described. Also, the conditions related to the usage of such new information infrastructure in relation to digital humanities are highlited.

The aim of this study was to identify impediments to the growth of Cloud Computing services in Poland. Diagnosis of diversed opinions of the respondents in the group led to the conclusion that the projects stakeholders' level of knowledge in Polish organizations about cloud computing services is small, the implementations are carried out without a thorough feasibility study and the choice of service and development model corresponds to the business model in a manner insufficient to achieve success in advanced IT technology conditions. The study was exploratory in nature due to its pioneering nature.

There is still many misunderstandings associated with the assessment of the barriers encountered in the process of IT solutions migration to the computational cloud and the benefits to be expected. The purpose of this paper is to organize the criteria used in this field, to analyze the dependencies between them. This will allow us to better understand the problem of migration to the cloud and to improve the decision-making processes related to it. A comprehensive survey was carried out, covering about 400 manufacturing enterprises in Poland using cloud-based IT solutions in various areas. The elements of the study were questions about the barriers and benefits encountered in this process. The paper analyzes the relationships between the obtained categories using diverse data mining methods: association rules mining and hierarchical agglomerative clustering. The obtained results allow to identify the conceptual structure and build a model of relationships inside the problem.

With the rapid development of remote sensing technology, our ability to obtain remote sensing data has been improved to an unprecedented level. We have entered an era of big data. Remote sensing data clear showing the characteristics of Big Data such as hyper spectral, high spatial resolution, and high time resolution, thus, resulting in a significant increase in the volume, variety, velocity and veracity of data. This paper proposes a feature supporting, salable, and efficient data cube for time-series analysis application, and used the spatial feature data and remote sensing data for comparative study of the water cover and vegetation change. In this system, the feature data cube building and distributed executor engine are critical in supporting large spatiotemporal RS data analysis with spatial features. The feature translation ensures that the geographic object can be combined with satellite data to build a feature data cube for analysis. Constructing a distributed executed engine based on dask ensures the efficient analysis of large-scale RS data. This work could provide a convenient and efficient multidimensional data services for many remote sensing applications.

Server power control in data centers is a coordinated process carefully designed to reach multiple data center management objectives. The main objectives include avoiding power capacity overloads and system overheating, as well as fulfilling service-level agreements (SLAs). In addition to the primary goals, server control process aims to maximize various energy efficiency metrics subject to reliability constraints. Monitoring of data center performance is fundamental for its efficient management. In order to keep track of how well the computing tasks are processed, cluster control systems need to collect accurate measurements of activities of cluster components. This paper presents a brief overview of performance and power consumption monitoring tools available in the Linux systems.

In this paper, the Stackelberg game models are used for supporting the decisions on task scheduling and resource utilization in computational clouds. Stackelberg games are asymmetric games, where a specific group of players’ acts first as leaders, and the rest of the players follow the leaders’ decisions and make their decisions based on the leader’s actions. In the proposed model, the optimal schedules are generated under the security criteria along with the generation of the optimal virtual machines set for the scheduled batch of tasks. The security criteria are defined as security requirements for mapping tasks onto virtual machines with specified trust level. The effectiveness of the proposed method has been verified in the realistic use cases with in the cloud environment with OpenStack and Amazon Cloud standards.

The Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud-based collaborative platforms have emerged as new infrastructures over the recent decades. The classification of network traffic in terms of benign and malevolent traffic is indispensable for IoT/cloud-based collaborative platforms for optimally utilizing channel capac ity for transmitting benign traffic and blocking malicious traffic. The traffic classification mechanism should be dynamic and capable enough for classifying network traffic in a quick manner so that malevolent traffic can be identified at earlier stages and benign traffic can be speedily channelized to the destined nodes. In this paper, we present a deep-learning recurrent LSTM RNet-based technique for classifying traffic over IoT/cloud platforms using the Word2Vec approach. Machine-learning techniques (MLTs) have also been employed for comparing the performance of these techniques with the proposed LSTM RNet classification method. In the proposed research work, network traffic is clas sified into three classes: Tor-Normal, NonTor-Normal, and NonTor-Malicious traffic. The research outcome shows that the proposed LSTM RNet accurately classifies such traffic and also helps reduce network latency as well as enhance data transmission rates and network throughput.

This paper presents cloud computing as a model for the provision of IT services. It contains a synthetic view of CC. Its basic features, models of service provision and implementation models were described. The paper also presents selected statistics on the market for this type of services. The main part of the study presents implementation barriers of this concept. The results of the author’s own research were presented and synthetically discussed.

In this paper we propose a new method of scheduling the distributed applications in cloud environment according to the High Performance Computing as a Service concept. We assume that applications, that are submitted for execution, are specified as task graphs. Our method dynamically schedules all the tasks using resource sharing by the applications. The goal of scheduling is to minimize the cost of resource hiring and the execution time of all incoming applications. Experimental results showed that our method gives significantly better utilization of computational resources than existing management methods for clouds.

Today cloud computing becomes one of the most attractive topics due to the wide opportunities that is provided which aims to enhance the electronic services to a higher-level providing cost saving, expanding possibilities, storage in demand and the huge intake capability as well. Security is one of the most important process that should be implemented in every cloud structure level, especially with data in case of processing or storing to keep it save from unauthorized access to overcome the security challenges and difficulties, which face both provider and users in cloud. In this paper a study to compare the security algorithms for encryption/decryption files has been done to evaluate the performance impact with memory capacity, processing time and algorithms running time. The comparison has been done between three encryption algorithms AES, DES, and Blowfish to determine the performance of each one in cloud storage. From the experimental results we found that DES is faster in running time compared to other algorithms as well as AES considered to be the safest one in data protection.

The use of ‘proper energy computation system’ is the best method to investigate the problem of energy deficiency, since energy consumption in computational resources is proportional with the work load in the applied program. Also, the best method to improve the use of resources and decrease in energy consumption is dynamic integration of virtual machines which can be a base for the integration of resources in independent systems through virtualization technology, so that it is possible to use resources and equipment for long time and consequently assuring quicker return of investment. Today, grid computation is a new technology connecting heterogeneous computational resources to each other; thus, this structure operates as an individual and integrated virtual machine. Then, it is possible to implement very complex applied programs requiring high processing capacity and huge amount of input data on this virtual machine. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to present an approach for resource management in grid environments using PSO and Genetic algorithms, and also ants colony to find the location of virtual machines.

Dzisiejszy sprzęt komputerowy posiada moc obliczeniową umożliwiającą przeprowadzanie symulacji wirtualnej. Nawet najmocniejsza maszyna w przypadku wykorzystania modelu o wysokiej szczegółowości oraz rozdzielczości może być niewystarczająca. Przejście na symulację konstruktywną spowoduje utratę na szczegółowości symulacji. Możliwe jest jednak zastosowanie rozproszonej symulacji wirtualnej w chmurze obliczeniowej. Przykładem zastosowania takiego rozwiązania jest produkt SpatialOS firmy Improbable.
Today's personal computers have the computing power to perform virtual simulation. However, even the most powerful machine in the case of using a high detail model and resolution may be insufficient. The transition to constructive simulation will result in a loss of detail in the simulation. However, it is possible to use a distributed virtual simulation in the computing domain. An example of such a solution is the SpatialOS product of the Improbable company.

Opis:
Confidential algorithm for the approximate graph vertex covering problem is presented in this article. It can preserve privacy of data at every stage of the computation, which is very important in context of cloud computing. Security of our solution is based on fully homomorphic encryption scheme. The time complexity and the security aspects of considered algorithm are described.

This paper attempts to classify the main areas of threats occurring in enterprises in the information management processes. Particular attention was paid to the effect of the human factor which is present in virtually every area of information security management. The author specifies the threats due to the IT techniques and technologies used and the models of information systems present in business entities. The empirical part of the paper presents and describes the research conducted by the author on information security in business organisations using the traditional IT model and the cloud computing model. The results obtained for both IT models are compared.

Nieustanny rozwój technologii informacyjnych, tańszy i łatwiejszy dostęp do Internetu, szukanie oszczędności oraz koncentracja na podstawowych procesach przedsiębiorstwa sprawia, że wzrasta popularność outsourcingu rozwiązań informatycznych. Od pewnego czasu przedsiębiorstwa mają możliwość skorzystania z aplikacji dostarczanych w ramach modelu SaaS (ang. Software as a Service). Celem artykułu jest analiza wybranych zagadnień związanych z poziomem jakości usług dostarczanych w modelu SaaS na przykładzie aplikacji przeznaczonych do wystawiania faktur z punktu widzenia małych przedsiębiorstw. Stosownie do przyjętego celu została ustalona struktura artykułu. Punkt pierwszy zawiera podstawowe informacje dotyczące modelu SaaS, jego wady i zalety z punktu widzenia użytkownika. W punkcie drugim przedstawiono najważniejsze informacje na temat tzw. gwarancji jakości świadczonych usług (ang. Service Level Agreements – SLA). Przedstawiona została m.in. klasyfikacja SLA zaproponowana przez ASP Industry Consortium. Ostatnia cześć artykułu porusza aspekty prawne dotyczące usług oferowanych w modelu SaaS. Wymienione zostały także czynniki, które mogą mieć wpływ na jakość aplikacji z punktu widzenia użytkownika.
The development of information technologies, cheaper and easier access to the Internet, the search for savings and focusing on basic enterprise’s processes enhances the popularity of outsourcing IT solutions. For some time enterprises have had the possibility of using applications in the SaaS model (Software as a Service). The main aim of the article is to analize chosen issues about the quality of services in the SaaS model related to invoicing applications from the point of view of small enterprises. The first part of the article contains general info on SaaS model, its pros and cons in the users’ point of view. The second part contains general info on SLA (Service Level Agreements). It contains classification of SLA proposed by the ASP Industry Consortium. The concluding part refers to the legal aspects of services offered and factors which may have influence on the quality from the users’ point of view.

Recommender systems (RS) have emerged as a means of providing relevant content to users, whether in social networking, health, education, or elections. Furthermore, with the rapid development of cloud computing, Big Data, and the Internet of Things (IoT), the component of all this is that elections are controlled by open and accountable, neutral, and autonomous election management bodies. The use of technology in voting procedures can make them faster, more efficient, and less susceptible to security breaches. Technology can ensure the security of every vote, better and faster automatic counting and tallying, and much greater accuracy. The election data were combined by different websites and applications. In addition, it was interpreted using many recommendation algorithms such as Machine Learning Algorithms, Vector Representation Algorithms, Latent Factor Model Algorithms, and Neighbourhood Methods and shared with the election management bodies to provide appropriate recommendations. In this paper, we conduct a comparative study of the algorithms applied in the recommendations of Big Data architectures. The results show us that the K-NN model works best with an accuracy of 96%. In addition, we provided the best recommendation system is the hybrid recommendation combined by content-based filtering and collaborative filtering uses similarities between users and items.

The article attempts to analyze the process control of correspondence stored in virtual memory, i.e. in the so-called Cloud Computing. The study is an attempt to answer the question of how mobile devices and clouds are examined and what impact the law on privacy has on the implementation of procedural activities. The growing interest in cloud computing results in the emergence of many new legal problems, which translate into, among others, on the practice and operation of law enforcement agencies. First, the concept of „cloud computing” was discussed and the provisions on obtaining electronic evidence were analyzed. The independence of ICT systems from the functioning of a classic work environment based on a single workstation also allowed us to raise the question of the cross-border nature of services provided in the cloud. IT data transmitted via cloud computing can be saved on several devices located in different countries.

Chmura obliczeniowa, czyli cloud computing, to rozwiązanie, które można nazwać przyszłością IT (ang. Information Technology, technologia informacyjna). Niezwykle dynamicznie rozwijające się technologie informatyczne powodują, że coraz większa grupa użytkowników po prostu nie nadąża z wdrażaniem nowych technologii, a dodatkowo koszty częstej aktualizacji systemów są naprawdę znaczące. Dzięki chmurze obliczeniowej możemy skorzystać z najnowszych rozwiązań i największej mocy obliczeniowej bez potrzeby zakupu, serwisowania i częstej aktualizacji sprzętu oraz oprogramowania. Jest to niezwykle istotne z ekonomicznego punktu widzenia użytkowników, gdyż w przypadku tradycyjnych systemów IT każda aktualizacja programowo-sprzętowa wymagała sporych nakładów finansowych. Ważnym aspektem jest również skalowalność chmury obliczeniowej, gdzie system „rośnie” wraz z rozwojem i możliwościami danej firmy, nie generując zbytecznych wydatków. Można zatem powiedzieć, iż jest to niemal idealne rozwiązanie firm i przedsiębiorstw, które swoją działalność opierają na innowacyjnych rozwiązaniach, a do takiej grupy możemy zaliczyć m.in. media. Chmura obliczeniowa pozwoli w tym przypadku na wdrażanie najnowszych technologii IT, minimalizując koszty z tym związane.
Cloud computing, is a solution that can be called the future of IT (Information Technology). Extremely fast developing technologies mean that an increasing number of users simply cannot keep up with the implementation of new technologies, and in addition the cost of frequent updates to these systems are really significant. With cloud computing, we can take advantage of the latest solutions and the largest computing power without the need to purchase, servicing and frequent updating of hardware and software. This is very important from an economic point of view of the users, since in the case of traditional IT systems, each update of software and hardware required considerable financial investments. An important aspect is the scalability of cloud computing, where the system ‘grows’ with the development and capabilities of the company, without generating unnecessary expenditure. It could then be said that this is almost the perfect solution for companies and enterprises, where activities are based on innovative solutions, which include, among others, media. Cloud computing will allow, in this case, for the implementation of the latest IT technology, minimizing the costs associated with the process.

Artykuł prezentuje system zdalnego sterowania i pomiarów rozproszony w sieci Internet. System składa się z urządzeń końcowych (instalowanych w zdalnych lokalizacjach) oraz infrastruktury informatycznej (IT). Technologia wirtualizacji pozwala na wykorzystanie zaawansowanej infrastruktury przy zachowaniu niskich kosztów. Przykłady instalacji obejmują monitorowanie wymiennikowni ciepła (m.in. zdalny odczyt liczników energii), czy zdalne pomiary meteorologiczne (za pośrednictwem sieci GSM).
The paper presents a SCADA system distributed in the Internet. The system consists of endpoint devices (installed in the remote localizations) and an information technology (IT) infrastructure. The virtualization technology allows maintaining a low cost of an advanced IT infrastructure. The cost is proportional to the used computing power and each user does not require an individual, professional server. Moreover, the devices communicate with the server only to exchange recently acquired data and control commands. All data storage is done by a virtual server. Thus, the cost of data transfer in case of the GSM devices is very low (data is transported to the server once, and there is no additional data access cost). Moreover, the server provides flexible interfaces for integration with other SCADA and IT systems. The endpoint devices are very simple (no advanced data processing), which results in low fixed costs of installation. Data exchange between the devices and the virtual server is secured. Example installations cover monitoring of a heat power exchange station (along with reading of remote M-bus energy meters) or a meteo station. The system architecture is shown in Fig. 4.

Punkt drugi obejmuje najistotniejsze informacje na temat usług w modelu Cloud Computing. Przedstawiono m.in. definicję, modele i sposoby realizacji, atrybuty oraz bariery stosowania rozwiązań przetwarzania w chmurze. W punkcie trzecim przedstawione zostały podstawowe informacje na temat małych przedsiębiorstw, a także cechy przetwarzania w chmurze, w odniesieniu do cech małych przedsiębiorstw.

Purpose: The aim of the paper was to analyse barriers to adopting Cloud Computing solutions by small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in Poland. Design/methodology/approach: The paper is based on the review of literature and studies on the application of Cloud Computing solutions in small and medium-sized enterprises as well as the results of own research among this group of enterprises. Quantitative research was carried out using a survey questionnaire in December 2017 – February 2018, with the use of the CATI technique, among manufacturing enterprises in Poland. Findings: Investigated SMEs see fewer and fewer barriers in the implementation of new CC models. In the surveyed group most barriers are perceived by less than 30% of respondents. Research limitations/implications: A certain limitation of the study is that no separate Digital Business Strategy or Agile Strategy were considered, assuming that they were included in the adopted survey options. This result could have been influenced by the period in which the research was carried out, which is less than half a year before the entry into force of the General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR. Originality/value: The perception of barriers is discussed taking into account the application of an IT Strategy and the party responsible for the implementation.

Cloud environments made up of a large number of compute and storage servers provide ondemand services in a usage-based consumption model (pay-as-you-go). Load balancing is one of the major problems in the cloud. Indeed, the dynamics of demand requirements and QoS, as well as the variability of cloud resources and its provisioning models make difficult the operation of performance evaluation of the system. To face this issue and to ensure the viability of cloud computing, IT resources must be managed effectively by a dynamic monitoring of the current workload of virtual machines (VMs). In this study, we propose the design of a cloud services simulation tool at the infrastructure level based on cloud computing simulation platform named CloudSim. It allows real-time monitoring of a load of each VM in terms of CPU utilization, memory utilization and bandwidth utilization ratio. The result of this case study can be useful for carry out dynamic environment simulations for VMs monitoring and fast decision making that can be used in load balancing mechanisms.

Jedną z istotnych barier rozwojowych sektora MSP są ograniczenia finansowe. Skutkuje to mniejszymi nakładami na niezbędną infrastrukturę ICT (Information and Communication Technology), która stanowi istotne uwarunkowanie nowocześnie funkcjonujących przedsiębiorstw. Interesującym rozwiązaniem staje się model przetwarzania w „chmurze” (cloud computing), jako szczególne rozwinięcie idei outsourcingu informatycznego. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie rosnącego zainteresowania sektora MSP tym modelem przetwarzania danych, ukazanie jego istoty i efektywnych wariantów realizacyjnych. Wykorzystując własne badania ankietowe oraz dostępną literaturę przedmiotu, autor przedstawił koncepcję wykorzystywania przetwarzania w „chmurze” na poziomie koniecznej warstwy sprzętowo-systemowej oraz aplikacyjnej. Ta ostatnia właśnie – za sprawą zastosowania systemów ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) – stanowi o końcowych walorach użytkowych modelu cloud computing. Artykuł koncepcyjny.
One of substantial development barriers for the SME sector is financial limitations. It leads to lower outlays on an indispensable ICT (information and communication technology) infrastructure, which is a crucial determinant of newly functioning enterprises. An interesting solution becomes the model of cloud computing as a specific explication of the idea of IT outsourcing. An aim of the article is to indicate a growing interest of the SME sector in this model of data processing, to show its essence and effective implementation variants. Using his own surveys as well as the accessible literature of the subject, the author presented the concept of use of cloud computing at the level of the necessary hardware, software and application layer. Just the latter – thanks to use of the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems – determines the final use values of the cloud computing model. The article is of the conceptual nature.

In the paper an agent-based framework deployed in hybrid cluster and volunteer computing environment is presented. It utilizes two concepts proposed by the authors: Augmented Cloud and Agent Platform as a Service (AgPaaS). Both concepts are discussed in the context of Cloud Computing as defined by NIST. The key idea of the presented solution is to span the cloud (i.e., computing infrastructure) beyond the data center borders by utilizing web browsers as computational workers. The feasibility of the approach was demonstrated by two prototypes: the first one was based on Java Applets and Adobe Flash, whereas the second one on Microsoft Silverlight. The prototypes were next used to perform simple experiments, mainly related to scalability issues. Selected results from the experiments are discussed in the final part of the paper.

Opis:
Cloud computing creates a new opportunities for the development of virtual education. The goal of the paper is to analyze organizational, economic and legal aspects of cloud computing in the context of needs of virtual education. In addition, the article presents the identification and characteristic of these areas of virtual education, where the best way is to apply cloud computing technology, for instance teaching and distance learning, publishing, collaboration and social interaction (e.g. creation of documentation, presentation or communication). The paper presented examples of applications available in the cloud computing.
Cloud computing stwarza nowe możliwości dla rozwoju wirtualnej edukacji. Celem artykułu jest analiza aspektów organizacyjnych, ekonomicznych i prawnych cloud computing w kontekście potrzeb edukacji wirtualnej. Ponadto artykuł przedstawia identyfikację i charakterystykę tych obszarów edukacji, gdzie najlepiej jest zastosować technologię cloud computing, na przykład nauczania i uczenia się na odległość, działalności wydawniczej, współpracy i interakcji społecznych (np. tworzenia dokumentacji, prezentacji lub komunikacji). W artykule przedstawiono także przykłady aplikacji dostępnych w chmurze.

Cloud Computing offers the avant-garde services at a stretch that are too attractive for any cloud user to ignore. With its growing application and popularization, IT companies are rapidly deploying distributed data centers globally, posing numerous challenges in terms of scheduling of resources under different administrative domains. This perspective brings out certain vital factors for efficient scheduling of resources providing a wide genre of characteristics, diversity in context of level of service agreements and that too with user-contingent elasticity. In this paper, a comprehensive survey of research related to various aspects of cloud resource scheduling is provided. A comparative analysis of various resource scheduling techniques focusing on key performance parameters like Energy efficiency, Virtual Machine allocation and migration, Cost-effectiveness and Service-Level Agreement is also presented.

Opis:
Software development team collaboration requires various decisions regarding essential aspects of a project’s progress. General and particular decision-making models are considered, and their main aspects such as team types, problem solving categories, and decision-making ways are analyzed. The research concerns representative groups of IT specialists and their preferences in decision-making are investigated. Four possible cases were tested: hierarchical choice (by leader) team members’ choice (team consensus or voting) and external expert impact. It allows one to show some differences in the behaviors of both traditional and virtual teams.
