The main aim of this paper is to evaluate crawlers collecting the job offers from websites. In particular the research is focused on checking the effectiveness of ensemble machine learning methods for the validity of extracted position from the job ads. Moreover, in order to significantly reduce the training time of the algorithms (Random Forests and XGBoost), granularity methods were also tested to significantly reduce the input training dataset. Both methods achieved satisfactory results in accuracy and F1 measures, which exceeded 96%. In addition, granulation reduced the input dataset by more than 99%, and the results obtained were only slightly worse (accuracy between 1% and 5%, F1 between 3% and 8%). Thus, it can be concluded that the considered methods can be used in the evaluation of job web crawlers.

The groundwater of the Nida valley was investigated to assess the quality of water source and monthly variations of the physicochemical parameters. A total of 70 water samples were collected from 7 sampling sites during a 10 months period from June 2021 to March 2022. Sampling frequency was once per month. The parameters such as temperature (T), electrical conductivity (EC), dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, total dissolved solids (TDS) were measured in-situ by using handheld device. Meanwhile, total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), chloride (Cl – ), sulphate (SO42– ), manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), copper (Cu), chemical oxygen demand (COD) were analysed in the laboratory. According to the classification of Ministry of Marine Economy and Inland Navigation in Poland (2019), some investigated parameters are classified as unsatisfactory quality waters (class 4) and poor-quality waters (class 5) for a few specific months. Such as, TP concentrations obtained in June and January are classified as class 4, SO42– concentrations corresponded to classes 4 and 5 in June, July and August, and Mn concentrations (except in January) are settled in class 5. The high values of Fe in November are arranged in class 5 and in June, July to September and March are classified in class 4. Statistical methods were used as: Shapiro-Wilk test (α = 0.05), ANOVA test and post-hoc Tukey test (α = 0.05), Kruskal-Wallis test and Wilcoxon (Mann-Whitney) rank sum test (α = 0.05) estimated the significant differences in sampling months. Pearson correlation analysis (α = 0.01 and 0.05), principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis showed correlation between the parameters and sampling months.

It is the foundation of tunnel engineering to classify the rock mass surrounding tunnels. However, it is not easy to precisely determine the class of rock mass in practice as sufficient geological exploration need to be completed before rock mass classification, and there exists some disputes referring to the rationalization of dozens of methods for rock mass classification through the world. The principles and procedures of the basic quality method, which are widely used in China, are presented in this paper, and the application process of the basic quality method is showed with a project case of Zhongnanshan highway tunnel which has operated in safety for nearly a decade. Then, both the advantages and disadvantages of the basic quality method are analyzed in terms of practical engineering applications. In consideration of the defects of the basic quality method, the concept of the subclassing of surrounding rock in grade III-V is developed in the end and the criterion is given to determine the subclass of rock mass. This study is aimed at providing some useful ideas and a reference for rock classification in highway tunnel engineering.

Jednym ze sposobów badania i prezentowania różnych przejawów tradycyjnej kultury większych obszarów jest przedstawianie ich na mapach, a następnie interpretacja przedstawionych zasięgów. Opracowanie mapy etnograficznej wymaga spełnienia pewnych rygorów już na etapie tworzenia kwestionariusza i badań terenowych. Zespół tych ściśle określonych wymogów, zawierających między innymi systematykę mapowanych elementów kultury i ich chronologię, określamy mianem techniki kartograficznej. Znajomość tej techniki umożliwia ocenę przydatności także gotowych już map do dalszych badań oraz przetwarzania ich zawartości. Może też służyć pomocą badaczom podejmującym trud opracowywania nowych map. Metoda etnogeograficzna pozwala na wnioskowanie o genezie cech/elementów kulturowych na podstawie konfiguracji ich zasięgów. Interpretacje map prowadzą etnologów do wyjaśnienia genezy tradycyjnej kultury w Polsce przez ukazanie, przynależności do zachodnioeuropejskiej prowincji kulturowej oraz o pograniczach z prowincjami północno-wschodnią i karpacką na ziemiach polskich. Tradycyjna kultura obszaru Polski znalazła odzwierciedlenie w kilku atlasach polskich i niemieckich.
One of the ways in which various manifestations of traditional culture on vast territories can be studied and presented is showing them on maps and, subsequently, interpreting the presented scopes. The elaboration of an ethnographic map has certain requirements already at the stage of creating the questionnaire and field studies. The set of such requirements (including the taxonomy and chronology of the mapped elements of culture) is called a cartographic technique. The familiarization with this technique enables one to estimate the usefulness of maps for further research and for processing their contents. It can also help researchers who undertake the effort of preparing new maps. The ethnogeographic method makes it possible to draw conclusions concerning the origin of cultural features/elements on the basis of the configuration of their scopes. The interpretation of maps lead ethnologists both to the explanation how traditional culture originated and to the fact of Poland’s belonging to West-European cultural province and of its borderlands with North-Eastern and Carpathian provinces. In the territories of Poland, traditional culture has been reflected in several atlases – Atlas der deutschen Volkskunde, Atlas der Pommerschen Volkskunde, Atlas języka i kultury ludowej Wielkopolski, Polski atlas etnograficzny.

Miasta, zwłaszcza te pełniące funkcję stolicy województwa, stanowią istotny element każdego regionu, zarówno pod względem gospodarczym, społecznym, jak i demografia siła ich polaryzacyjnego oddziaływania często sięga poza administracyjne granice regionu. Celem opracowania jest ocena homogeniczności (lub dywergencji) województw z punktu widzenia struktury wieku populacji, a także ocena stopnia podobieństwa struktury wieku populacji zamieszkującej powiaty do tejże struktury mieszkańców stolic wojewódzkich. Analizy poprzedzone zostały charakterystyką województw Polski oraz ich stolic w latach 2002 i 2018 z punktu widzenia struktury wieku ludności, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem procesu starzenia się populacji. Następnie dla danych z 2018 r., przy wykorzystaniu metody Warda, przeprowadzona została klasyfikacja powiatów leżących w granicach województw których stolicami są największe pod względem liczby mieszkańców miasta oraz województw Polski Wschodniej. Dokonano też oceny podobieństwa powiatów leżących na obszarze wymienionych województw do ich stolic pod względem struktury wieku ludności w 2018 r. Uzyskane rezultaty wykazały większą homogeniczność regionów Polski Wschodniej pod względem podobieństwa powiatów leżących w ich granicach do stolic poszczególnych województw z punktu widzenia struktury wieku ludności, niż regiony których stolicami są największe pod względem liczby ludności miasta.
Cities, especially capitals of voivodeships, constitute an important element of each region in economic, social, and demographic terms. A big city functions as a growth centre, influencing the environment at various levels. However, the strength of their polarizing influence often reaches beyond the respective administrative boundaries. Urbanization and suburbanization significantly affect the course of population processes. Poland is differentiated territorially by the age structure of the population. This is visible both at the voivodeship level and within these administrative units. For several decades, the progress of the population aging process has been observed – especially in cities, which are characterized by a higher advancement of demographic old age. The paper aims to evaluate the degree of the homogeneity (or heterogeneity) of Polish voivodships in terms of the population age structure. First, as an introduction to the main analysis, a demographic description of Polish voivodships (understood also as regions) was conducted, including with their capital cities in the year 2002 and 2018. The description incorporates age structures with particular emphasis on the aging process of the population. Within each region the classification procedure was conducted (Ward’s method was used), but only the results for voivodships with the most populated capitals and voivodships located in the eastern part of Poland were presented. It was also attempted to evaluate the similarity between regions and their central cities with respect to the age structure of the population. GUS publications served as the source of the data analysis. The obtained results showed that Polish voivodships vary in terms of the population age structure. In this matter, compared to all poviats in a given region, cities stand out (especially large ones). In most of the analyzed regions, the population age structure of their capitals differs from the one of poviats located within these voivodships. Those differences are much greater in the case of large cities. Eastern Polish regions have greater homogeneity (in terms of similarities between their poviats and the capitals of individual voivodeships regarding the population age structure) than the regions with capitals of the highest population. Eastern Poland’s voivodship capitals have a lower economic, demographic, and social impact on rest of the region than large cities. Among the analyzed cities, Warsaw is characterized by a particular difference in the population age structure, both in comparison with the poviats of the Mazowieckie voivodship and with other voivodship capitals.

In this paper, preliminary support design of the main underground opening (i.e., mine adit) located at the Artana lead-zinc mine, Kosovo, was examined by employing both conventional and numerical methods for safe underground excavation and design. In order to conduct field studies including discontinuity surveying and sampling for laboratory testing two empirical methods, namely rock mass rating (RMR) and geological strength index (GSI) were employed. For the purpose of determining necessary support units RMR system was utilized. However, these kind of systems can take into account for neither the depth of underground opening nor in situ field stresses. For this reason, empirical design methods (i.e., RMR system) failed to investigate the performance of rock support units; therefore, a 2D finite element analysis program was used to assess the performance of the proposed support systems. This indicated that RMR system might not be applicable for poor and very poor rock masses located in deep environment (i.e., 300 and 400 m). Moreover, this is linked to the fact that the RMR system does not consider in situ stress conditions. This study showed that when empirical methods are supported by numerical analysis, the preliminary support system design will be much more reliable.

On 19th April, the largest wildfire of the entire history of Biebrza National Park broke out and consumed 5526 ha, mostly overdried grassland with sedges and reeds of Biebrza marshes. The very rapid spread of the fire in the open space, with the blowing wind changing directions and the inaccessibility of the area for fire-fighting vehicles were the main reasons of this third largest wildfire in Poland, after the tragic forest fires in Kuźnia Raciborska (9060 ha burnt) and Potrzebowice (5600 ha burnt) in the memorable year of 1992. After this event, activities were undertaken to develop a fire protection plan for the Biebrza National Park. It took into account an innovative approach during the analysis of the existing fire risk, primarily regarding the non-forest terrestrial ecosystems composed of herbaceous vegetation, which constitutes as much as 61.2% of the park’s area, and to propose protection methods adequate to the threat. The work was completed in the framework of the project entitled ‘Development of the method for assessing the fire risk of non-forest ecosystems and the principles of fire protection for the Biebrza National Park – stage I,’ commissioned for the Forest Research Institute by the Biebrza National Park, financed by the State Forests from the forest fund, in accordance with the contract EZ.0290.1.24.2020. The article presents a preliminary method of classifying the fire risk of non-forest ecosystems, considering the occurrence of the fires in the Biebrza National Park in the years 2007–2020 and the type of vegetation burnt. This method, after supplementary field tests planned in 2021, will enable evaluation of the fire risk, which shall be a premise for the development of a fire protection plan.

Opis:
The article contains a review of selected classification methods of dermatoscopic images with human skin lesions, taking into account various stages of dermatological disease. The described algorithms are widely used in the diagnosis of skin lesions, such as artificial neural networks (CNN, DCNN), random forests, SVM, kNN classifier, AdaBoost MC and their modifications. The effectiveness, specificity and accuracy of classifications based on the same data sets were also compared and analyzed.
Artykuł zawiera przegląd wybranych metod klasyfikacji obrazów dermatoskopowych zmian skórnych człowieka z uwzględnieniem różnych etapów choroby dermatologicznej. Opisane algorytmy są szeroko wykorzystywane w diagnostyce zmian skórnych, takie jak sztuczne sieci neuronowe (CNN, DCNN), random forests, SVM, klasyfikator kNN, AdaBoost MC i ich modyfikacje. Porównana i przeanalizowana została również skuteczność, specyficznośc i dokładność klasyfikatów w oparciu o te same zestawy danych.

The goal of this study was to propose a hierarchically nested classification system comprising four principal levels of the Braun-Blanquet system for Polish grasslands of the class Molinio-Arrhenatheretea. Using the Cocktail method, we defined consistent criteria for delimitation of the class, three orders, nine alliances, and 45 associations. Formal definitions were prepared using the summed cover and presence/absence information of species groups and individual dominant species. We created an expert system with a set of assignment rules that unambiguously classify relevés to a single unit at the given abstraction level of the Braun-Blanquet system in such a way that a relevé matched by the definition of a focal vegetation unit must be matched by definitions of all superior units. Of 11,535 relevés classified to Molinio-Arrhenatheretea, 36% were recognized at the association level, and 57% and 85% at the alliance and order level, respectively. All relevés were assigned unambiguously, meaning that a single relevé could not be assigned to more than one unit within the same hierarchical level (no overlap between vegetation units). This study is the first proposal of a hierarchically nested classification system that classifies grassland vegetation at different syntaxonomical levels unequivocally. It is important to create definitions for different syntaxonomical levels because the majority of vegetation patches do not fit to the associations, but can only be assigned to high-rank units such as alliance, order, or class.

The 4M method aims to determine the type of equilibrated ordinary chondrite only on the basis of the Mössbauer spectrum of the investigated meteorite. Mössbauer spectrum of non-weathered ordinary chondrite is comprised of four sub-spectra: two doublets and two sextets. One of the doublets consists of a signal from iron present in olivine and the other consists of a signal from iron present in pyroxene. Sextets on the other hand, contain signals from magnetically ordered iron. One sextet is related to the metallic phase (kamacite, taenite), whereas the second is related to troilite. A third of doublets, which emerges in weathered ordinary chondrites, is related to products of the oxidation of iron present in metallic phase. The spectral areas of olivine, pyroxenes, metallic phase and troilite, which were obtained from Mössbauer spectrum are proportional to the number of iron atoms present in relevant mineral phases. Some Mössbauer groups were inspired by this fact to construct different methods to determine the type (H, L, or LL) of investigated meteorites (Gałązka-Friedman et al. 2019, Hyp. Inter. 241(1)). However, these methods, based on subjective criteria, were only qualitative. Our group elaborated a quantitative method, which is based on objective criteria. We called it the "4M method" (where M are derived from meteorites, Mössbauer spectroscopy, multidimensional discriminant analysis (MDA), Mahalanobis distance) (Woźniak et al. 2019). This method was using only the Mössbauer experimental data, to which it applied advanced statistical methods. The base, which was created from Mössbauer data, consisted of three clusters H, L, LL. These clusters were constructed with sets of 4-dimensional vectors. The vectors are comprised of spectral areas of Mössbauer spectrum: ol (value proportional to iron present in olivine), pyr (value proportional to iron present in pyroxene), met (value proportional to iron present in metallic phase), tr (value proportional to iron present in troilite). To determine the type of investigated ordinary chondrite, its ol, pyr, met and tr values with average values of variables obtained for clusters H, L and LL need to be compared. The comparison can be performed with the use of MDA and Mahalanobis distance. Once Mahalanobis distance of the investigated meteoriteis is known, the level of similarity to three types of ordinary chondrites can be calculated. Examples of such calculations were performed for seven ordinary chondrites: Goronyo, Carancas, New Concord, NWA 7733, Leoncin, Sołtmany and Pułtusk. They were made with the use of the new base composed of 62 non-weathered ordinary chondrites. All results obtained with the 4M method yielded results consistent with traditional mineralogical methods.

The main aim of the present study is to develop an automatic method to identify and classify the different cell types of bacilli bacterial cells in digital microscopic cell images using active contour method. Snakes, or active contours, are used widely in computer vision and machine learning applications, particularly to locate object boundaries. GLCM, HOG and LBP features are used to identify the arrangement of bacilli bacterial cells, namely, bacillus, cocobacilli, diplobacilli, palisades and streptobacilli using SVM classifier. The current methods rely on the subjective reading of profiles by a human expert based on the various manual staining methods. In this paper, it is proposed a method for bacilli bacterial cell classification by segmenting digital bacterial cell images using active contour model and extracting GLCM, HOG and LBP features. The experimental results proves that, the SVM classifier has yielded an overall accuracy of 97.2% with GLCM features, HOG features has yielded an accuracy of 74.8% and LBP features yielded 91.2% accuracy. The GLCM features with SVM classifier has got good classification results compared to HOG and LBP feature sets for bacilli bacteria cell types.

The authors consider the problem of fraud detection at self-checkouts in retail in condition of unbalanced data set. A new ensemble-based method is proposed for its effective solution. The developed method involves two main steps: application of the preprocessing procedures and the Random Forest algorithm. The step-by-step implementation of the preprocessing stage involves the sequential execution of such procedures over the input data: scaling by maximal element in a column with row-wise scaling by Euclidean norm, weighting by correlation and applying polynomial extension. For polynomial extension Ito decomposition of the second degree is used. The simulation of the method was carried out on real data. Evaluating performance was based on the use of cost matrix. The experimental comparison of the effectiveness of the developed ensemble-based method with a number of existing (simples and ensembles) demonstrates the best performance of the developed method. Experimental studies of changing the parameters of the Random Forest both for the basic algorithm and for the developed method demonstrate a significant improvement of the investigated efficiency measures of the latter. It is the result of all steps of the preprocessing stage of the developed method use.

Opis:
Accurate network fault diagnosis in smart substations is key to strengthening grid security. To solve fault classification problems and enhance classification accuracy, we propose a hybrid optimization algorithm consisting of three parts: anti-noise processing (ANP), an improved separation interval method (ISIM), and a genetic algorithm-particle swarm optimization (GA-PSO) method. ANP cleans out the outliers and noise in the dataset. ISIM uses a support vector machine (SVM) architecture to optimize SVM kernel parameters. Finally, we propose the GA-PSO algorithm, which combines the advantages of both genetic and particle swarm optimization algorithms to optimize the penalty parameter. The experimental results show that our proposed hybrid optimization algorithm enhances the classification accuracy of smart substation network faults and shows stronger performance compared with existing methods.

With the aim of revealing linguocultural gaps (lacunas) in Hungarian-Vietnamese business communication, a questionnaire-based study was conducted. A total of 638 questionnaires was completed and analysed. Participants of the survey were Vietnamese individuals who had lived and graduated from university in Hungary, and had a good command of the Hungarian language. In this presentation, the results obtained will be displayed, including linguistic and cultural differences between representatives of the two aforementioned nations. The theoretical background of the study is the Lacuna Theory, developed by the Moscow School of Ethnopsycholinguistics. The results of the survey will hopefully contribute to the further development of the Lacuna Theory in general and in the business context in particular.
