The authors recognizes that the faithful participate in the mission of the Church, with a variety of ministries, functions, and services for the common good and for the benefit of the entire body through being active members. The text maintains that Christian vocation and mission are inseparably united in the life of the faithful – one implies the other.

The problem of usury has been discussed in this article. It was a condemned form of gaining profit in the European tradition. The source of such approach is found in the Biblical trafition which expressly banned lending money on interest. That moral guideline contained in the Bible was followed both in Islam as well as Christianity. It was not a pracice that was excluded from theological discussions, especially that there always appered some cases of abuse. The theological interpretation of authority figures, the Sobor rulings and the Popes’ teachings are all crucial in this matter. The teaching on usury has not changed, but the moral ecaluation of the loans granted on the so-called interest evolved. In the modern times the real and just criteria of charging fees for lending money have been formulated. This problem is especially crucial and current since in the modern practice of chasing the maximum profit, in the situation of ruthless competition, the economic crisis, as well as the vision of the downfall of the bank, there exists a real danger of the emergence of usury. The practices of money trading are not excludes from moral evaluation

The family is the union of two people whose relationship aims, among other things, at having children. The relationship built within the smallest cells of society, but also relationship affected by external factors. One of these external factors is the statutory law, including the constitution. The Polish Constitution with its regulations and principles protects the rights of both the child and family well-being. These rules, which form the basis of other legislative acts, should be respected and interpreted in the appropriate way. Pope John Paul II emphasized that family and children are the most important values for humanity. In papal teaching the protection of the family is discussed frequently and from many different angles. Modern Poland needs the family to exist. Hence one should not only listen to the voice of the Holy Father, but also explore the papal teachings on the family and children in Poland in subsequent research.

W prowadzonych analizach ukazano rozwój technologiczny środków społecznego przekazu, które od samego początku budziły zainteresowanie Kościoła. Analizie poddano ich ewolucję począwszy od petroglifów i piktogramów, przez wynalezienie druku aż po zjawisko nowych mediów. W nauczaniu Kościoła, początkowa nieufność przerodziła się w ograniczone zaufanie do środków społecznego przekazu w zakresie ich wykorzystania w ewangelizacji. Papieże zauważają w nich narzędzie ewangelizacji i formacji chrześcijańskiej, ale jednocześnie przestrzegają przed ich możliwym złym wykorzystaniem. Analizie poddano czasopisma misyjne wydawane po Vaticanum Secundum – 33 tytuły, z których dziewięć zaprzestało działalności w ostatnich latach. Autor przedstawił prawdopodobne przyczyny tego zjawiska. Tematyka nowych mediów misyjnych w Polsce (ich powstanie, rozwój i perspektywy) stanowić będzie drugą część niniejszego pracowania.
The conducted analyzes show the technological development of the means of social communication, which from the very beginning aroused the interest of the Church. The author analyzed their evolution from petroglyphs and pictograms, through the invention of printing to the phenomenon of new media. In the teaching of the Church, initial suspicion turned into limited confidence in using them in evangelization. The Popes see in them a tool of evangelization and Christian formation, but, at the same time, they warn against possible misuse. The missionary magazines issued after the Vaticanum Secundum were analyzed – 33 titles in all, of which nine ceased their activity in recent years. The author presented the probable causes of this phenomenon. Topics of new missionary media in Poland, namely, their emergence, development and perspectives will constitute the second part of this work.

W analizach prowadzonych w pierwszej części opracowania ukazano rozwój technologiczny środków społecznego przekazu, które od samego początku budziły zainteresowanie Kościoła. Analizie poddano czasopisma misyjne wydawane po Vaticanum Secundum, a także wskazano na ich aktualny kryzys. Warto podkreślić, że autor przedstawił prawdopodobne przyczyny tego zjawiska. Treścią niniejszego opracowania jest tematyka nowych mediów misyjnych w Polsce, ich powstanie, rozwój oraz perspektywy. Autor zaprezentował nowe media w perspektywie Web 1.0, 2.0 i 3.0, analizując portal, strony oraz aplikacje webowe. Ponadto przedstawił możliwości ich wykorzystania w informacji, formacji oraz animacji misyjnej.
Investigations carried out in the first part of the study showed the technological development of the means of social communication, which aroused the Church’s interest from the very beginning. Missionary magazines issued after the Vaticanum Secundum were analyzed and their current crisis was pointed out. It is worth noting that the author presented the probable causes of this phenomenon. The content of this study refers to the issue of new missionary media in Poland, their origin, development and perspectives. The author presented new media in the Web 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 perspective, scrutinizing the portal, websites and web applications. In addition, he presented some possibilities of their use in information, formation and mission animation.

Zebrane wypowiedzi składają się na całościową wizję wychowawczą charakteryzującą się szacunkiem dla procesu wychowania, ale i wychowanków, a także odnoszącą ich zarówno do doczesnego, jak i wiecznego celu wychowania.
The contemporary documents of the Church, referring to earlier traditions, willingly take up the subject of nurturing. The subject discusses both general and religious education. This issue is also a frequent topic of the Pope’s statements as well as catechetical reflections. The study presents a plethora of the post-Conciliar Church teaching about the definition and the essence of education, the relationship between the educator and education defining educational goals and the ways to achieve them. The statements build a comprehensive educational vision characterized by the respect for the process of upbringing and foster children. It also refers to the purpose of education, both temporal and eternal.

The theme of holiness has been present in the teaching of the Church from the very beginning of her existence. A number of cultural, civilization or technological changes result in the formation of new guidelines for sanctity. The following analysis is an attempt to formulate some of them which concern technological development. The main purpose of this article is to find an answer to the question: How to manifest holiness in social media? The main message is based on the Church teaching on holiness, especially on Gaudete et exsultate, the latest papal document presenting this issue. Subject analysis of the materials (the Church teaching) has allowed the authors to suggest specific guidelines regarding holiness in social media.

l’arte sacra occupa – a partire dal concilio vaticano ii – un posto importante nell’insegnamento del Magistero della chiesa. Ma è stato soprattutto il papa benedetto Xvi ad intraprendere una vera e propria ricerca della cosiddetta via pulchritudinis. nel suo magistero ha affrontato diverse volte il tema della bellezza e dell’arte nel senso ampio del termine. Un capitolo importante in queste sue riflessioni riguardava la bellezza nel contesto liturgico, cioè la bellezza della liturgia che è in grado di mostrare la bellezza di Dio stesso. Parlando della bellezza poi, papa ratzinger, si riferiva sia a ciò che è materiale e artistico, sia alla natura, alla creazione e a Dio. Anche l’attuale pontefice francesco parla della via della bellezza che, secondo lui, può condurre al bene, a Dio ed è capace di creare la comunione interpersonale, interculturale ed interreligiosa.
The dialogue with the world of art was taken up again by Vatican II and continues to this day. The post-conciliar popes dedicated several pronouncements to artists. But it was especially Benedict XVI that put into action a real search for the via pulchritudinis. In his teaching, he showed a particular predilection for the theme of beauty, art, as well as the relationship with the various arts. An important chapter of his reflection concerns beauty in the liturgical context. According to the Pontiff, the beauty of the liturgy manifests the beauty of God who is communicated through the beauty of the Church, and also the beauty of the assembly gathered in the liturgical celebration. Speaking of beauty, according to Ratzinger, it is necessary to take into consideration both the material, artistic one and also that referring to nature, to creation, to God.

The article analyzed the Magisterium of the Catholic Church concerning means of communication, with a special focus on television. Subsequently, the Church teaching on the mass media in Poland was  discussed, with a special reference to television. The discussion  offered in this article constitutes the basis for the next part of the  study which will examine the canonical norms related to television. The review of history and teaching of the Magisterium shows the  particular transition: from initial aloofness towards new tools of communication, to positive acceptance. The Church was quite fast in  recognizing television and using it in evangelization practice. Consequently, the pastoral application of television leads to using the influence of public and private stations as well as own Catholic television. A significant change in the post-Conciliar Church practice was including means of communication in pastoral programmers. The teaching of the Church is accompanied with statements and documents of  particular Churches which are better adjusted to local ecclesiastic and  media contexts. To sum up the teaching of the Church, one should say that it is not so much about establishing binding and strict norms as it is showing the direction and accompanying people and environments. Although the teaching of the Church does not discuss the thread of internet television development directly, this should be also referred to new forms of creating television transmission, including Catholic Internet viewers.

The present overview of current christian-Jewish dialogue shape frstly specifes the dialogue and its partners concept meaning applied to the relations between religious societies. it draws our attention to the polarisations within the christianity and Judaism as well as to the differencies in dialogue advancement between bodies keeping the dialogue and the general public. it points out the different motivation prompting Jews and christians to keep the dialogue and the infuence of this on understanding the sense, the choice of its representatives and the theme of the dialogue. The deepening mutual cognition along with the growing awareness of both; chances and limits of consensus in the dialogue, are indicated among the previous achievements. From the side of the catholic church, irreversible will of the dialogue along with the appropriate directions of doctrinal clarifcations of the church teaching are strongly emphasized. The theological questions are raised that on the christian side develop from the acknowledgment of irremovability of the covenant between God and israel. The questions refer to the contemporary situation and the eschatological perspective of existence of two communities considering themselves as continuation of the covenant between God and Abraham, as well as their relation towards israel Land. The article at its conclusion stipulates the deepening of the awareness of the mystery whenever resuming the religious topics in the dialogue.

Filozofia od wieków towarzyszyła człowiekowi jako droga wiodąca ku odkrywaniu mądrości. W objawieniu chrześcijańskim człowiek otrzymał od Boga w osobie Jezusa Chrystusa odpowiedź na fundamentalne pytania, przed jakimi staje. Niniejszy artykuł nakreśla zadania, które w świetle encykliki Fides et ratio stoją przed filozofią w jej służebnej roli wobec teologii. Za pomocą pojęć i definicji zaczerpniętych z pism filozofów możliwe jest właściwe objaśnianie treści wiary, jej przybliżanie, pod warunkiem że stać ona będzie na gruncie realizmu i obiektywizmu. Współczesny kryzys tożsamości człowieka związany jest z porzuceniem dziedzictwa myśli klasycznej, na których zbudowana była klasyczna filozofia. Tym, co charakteryzuje dzisiejszą mentalność, jest filozofia nihilizmu, relatywizmu i pragmatyzmu, które nie są w stanie ukazać człowiekowi prawdziwego obrazu rzeczywistości.
Philosophy has always accompanied a human being as the way leading to discover wisdom. The Christian Revelation given by God in the person of Jesus Christ answers to the fundamental questions. The article states new tasks which, according to the encyclical Fides et ratio, stay in its serving role regarding theology. The definitions and concepts mentioned in philosopher’s writings enable us to explain the content of the faith as far as it is supported by realism and objectivity. The modern crisis of identity of a human being is connected with the abandonment of legacy of a classical idea that classical philosophy was based on. Nihilism, philosophy of relativism and pragmatism are characteristic features of present mentality but they cannot show the real sense of actuality to a man.

The article addresses the issue of transsexualism from the point of view of the fundamental aspects of the life of the ecclesial community. Although the Church has not published an extensive document concerning this topic, it has referred to this problem both directly and indirectly. Sex change has been twice referred to in the context of genderism by Pope Francis and directly with the reference to transsexualism by various dicasteries of the Holy See in several notes. On the other hand, the attitude of the Church toward the discussed problem arises indirectly from its teachings on human sexuality. In general, the Church is of the opinion that formal or surgical sex change does not alter the actual sex of a person. Further, the Author focuses on the problem of transsexualism in terms of baptism, ordination, marriage, and religious vows. From the teachings of the Church it arises that a transsexual person cannot be denied baptism before a sex change. After a sex change, baptism assumes the conversion of such a person, their acceptance of the teachings of the Church on this matter, as well as – bearing in mind social relationships based on truth – their return to their original sex in terms of their identity and sex registered at birth, as it is impossible to restore their original sex after it has been surgically reassigned. The Church is also of the opinion that a transsexual person feeling strong disapproval of his or her phenotypic and genital sex cannot enter into matrimony, be ordained, or make any religious vows. Aside from the previously emphasized decisive importance of the original sex of a transsexual person for these forms of life as well as for social and ecclesial roles, other arguments are involved, such as disapproval of one’s own sex, the inability to control one’s sex, sexual self-identification disorders and lability, narcissistic inclinations, problems with building harmonious interpersonal relationships based on truth, as well as the inability of two persons to physically unite in the moral and canonical context, where either one or both of them have undergone a surgical sex change.
Artykuł traktuje o transseksualizmie z perspektywy fundamentalnych aspektów życia wspólnoty eklezjalnej. Chociaż Kościół nie wydał na ten temat szerokiego dokumentu, to jednak odniósł się do tego problemu bezpośrednio i pośrednio. Bezpośrednio do kwestii zmiany płci w kontekście genderyzmu odniósł się dwa razy papież Franciszek, a wprost w odniesieniu do transseksualizmu różne dykasterie Stolicy Apostolskiej w kilku stanowiskach. Pośrednio stosunek Kościoła do omawianej problematyki wynika z jego nauczania na temat ludzkiej płciowości. Kościół stoi na stanowisku, iż metrykalna czy chirurgiczna zmiana płci nie zmienia faktycznej płci osoby. W dalszych analizach Autor skupił swoją uwagę na problematyce transseksualizmu rozpatrywanej z perspektywy chrztu św., święceń, małżeństwa i życia zakonnego. Z nauczania Kościoła wynika, że osobie transseksualnej przed zmianą płci nie można odmówić chrztu św. Po zmianie płci chrzest zakłada nawrócenie takiej osoby, pełne przyjęcie nauczania Kościoła w tej materii oraz, mając na uwadze relacje społeczne w prawdzie, powrót do płci pierwotnej w wymiarach podmiotowych i metrykalnych, jako że niemożliwe jest przywrócenie pierwotnej płci w przypadku chirurgicznej jej zmiany. Kościół reprezentuje też stanowisko, że osoba transseksualna intensywnie przeżywająca dezaprobatę dla swojej płci fenotypowo-genitalnej zasadniczo nie może zawrzeć związku małżeńskiego, przystąpić do święceń i do życia zakonnego. Oprócz podkreślonego już decydującego znaczenia pierwotnej płci osoby transseksualnej dla tych form życia i ról społeczno-eklezjalnych, w grę wchodzą też dalsze racje, jak między innymi, dezaprobata dla własnej płci, brak zdolności do panowania nad własną płcią, zakłócona i labilna autoidentyfikacja płciowa, skłonności narcystyczne, problemy w budowaniu harmonijnych relacji interpersonalnych opartych na prawdzie, a także niezdolność do integralnego zjednoczenia cielesnego w rozumieniu moralnym i kanonicznym dwóch osób, z których jedna lub obydwie są po chirurgicznej zmianie płci.

Opis:
The great variety of conceptions of the genesis of man and the world is amazing. Even their classification is an extremely difficult thing, not to mention an attempt to assess their conformity to the teaching of the Church. According to the key accepted in the present article strictly theological theories (theological and biblical creationism) and progressive creationism aspire to be in conformity with the Catholic teaching. Theistic evolutionism also could be accepted on certain conditions and understood in a certain way, although the author expresses his skeptical attitude as to the possibility of presenting such an interpretation of it that still would not be progressive creationism, and would overcome all the aporias indicated in the analysis.
