The article raises a problem of the spirituality of Christian charity with a particular emphasis on poverty. Firstly, it focuses on the culture of exclusion and its many dimensions, drawing on the recent Polish studies. Following that it emphasises the foundations of Christian charity. Further, it goes on to presenting the ecclesial (Church and community based) dimension of the ministry of mercy and a number of both internal and external difficulties in the practical implementation of this idea in the specific conditions of daily life. The article concludes that exclusion is a particular area in life that calls for the ministry of charity towards the ones in need.

The main objective of this paper is to present the current state of empirical research on the application of the theory of Jungian types to the psychology of religion and spirituality, pointing out the necessity of broadening them by including Polish context. The paper presents an outline of this theory and the methods of studying these types (MBTI, KTS, FPTS) used in religion and spiritual-ity. Next, the author presents the results of research on the relation between aspects of the theory of psychological types and the religiosity variables, prayer, and spirituality of individuals as well as groups and centers connected with religion and spirituality. The paper concludes with comments concerning the most important empirical findings and their value for science and practice. A need for research aimed at the verification and generalization of the obtained results with reference to the modern reinterpretations of Jung’s theory and methods of studying personality is also pointed out.

Artykuł porusza problem duchowości miłosierdzia chrześcijańskiego wobec kultury wykluczania, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem ubóstwa. W świetle najnowszych polskich badań omówione jest zjawisko wykluczenia i jego różne wymiary, następnie ukazane są podstawy miłosierdzia chrześcijańskiego. Ukazany jest także eklezjalny (kościelny, wspólnotowy) wymiar posługi miłosierdzia oraz trudności wewnętrzne i zewnętrzne w praktycznej realizacji tej idei w życiu codziennym i w konkretnych warunkach. Artykuł prowadzi do wniosku, że wykluczenie jest szczególną przestrzenią (sferą życia) domagającą się posługi miłosierdzia wobec potrzebujących.

Opis:
Pluralism of contemporary worldviews makes it challenging for Christianity to enter into a dialogue with different opinions, especially those relating to (non)existence of God and foundations of man’s life. Such a discussion is also difficult with the atheist, agnostic and religiously ambivalent circles. The source of this discourse lays in the human nature, which strives for unity with others, and in Christ’s Great Commission. Moreover, the evolution of contemporary world, a peculiar spiritual crisis of many and effectively a crisis of human identity, rules, priorities and values demands a firm voice on the supernatural dimension of human’s life, on the authentic and healthy humanism and on the value of universal virtues, especially when it comes to life, health, mutual respect and culture. Thus, the Church is called to accommodate people that are outside of its moral or formal structures. This results from the nature of its mission and prevents it from becoming a marginal group seen as a cult, as a historic relic or as an organisation limiting man's freedom. Therefore, it becomes necessary to organise various meetings relating to the “Courtyard of Gentiles” or “Courtyard Dialogue.” This is also an opportunity to pick up healthy Christian apologetic, which is necessary because of the nature of faith itself, and to confront the dogmatic atheism which is more and more aggressive towards religion, especially towards Catholicism. Dialogue of the faithful with the gentiles is necessary. It also encourages exploring of the world and facilitates common existence in the society. For the baptised the perspective of evangelisation and the true respect for their interlocutors are equally important.

The article presents the concept of prayer contained in the works of St. Ursula Ledóchowska. It aims to show how the founder of the Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of the Agonizing Heart of Jesus defines prayer, how she describes it and what she pays attention, giving recommendations, indications and advices concerning the life of prayer. Saint Ursula underlines not so much the importance of many forms and types of prayer, but she emphasizes the personal relationship with God. This distribution of accents makes more characteristic for St. Ursula to speak about the spirit of prayer than about prayer itself in the strict sense.

Przekonuje, że może się ono dokonać w dialogu z teologią duchowości. Przedstawione analizy tekstów literackich są próbą scharakteryzowania niektórych odwołań do duchowości chrześcijańskiej, jakie istnieją w literaturze polskiej.

This article presents the importance of the Psalms in the life of a Christian in the light of the teaching of Benedict XVI. The Psalms allow us to dialogue with God in His words. They are a true school of prayer: they teach us to turn to God in every state of mind, in every situation and with every emotion that man experiences. The Psalms take on their full meaning and value in the light of the Person of Jesus Christ. In praying the psalms, the Christian addresses himself to the Father in Christ and with Christ, opening himself to a new perspective which has its ultimate interpretative key in the paschal mystery. In this way he comes to know the Saviour better and can deepen his relationship with Him. Praying the Psalms is important in the contemporary context because, in times of crisis of hope and forgetfulness of God, it teaches us to seek reliable support in the Creator and Saviour and to turn always to Him.

In the tradition of Christian contemplation, we find much encouragement to both contemplate nature and how we can discover God the Creator through it and how His love is imprinted on it. St Ignatius, however, in his Contemplation for the Achievement of Love, invites the praying person to contemplate not only creation, but also himself and his body. Since there is little research or literature on contemplation of the body, the author pays special attention to it in this article. He argues that the Triune God wants to reveal Himself to every man, not only through the book of nature and the Bible, but also through his body, and that contemplation of his body can be of great help to him in this. In the first chapter he briefly defines the meaning of contemplation and then turns to an understanding of the human body in the light of Scripture and spiritual theology. In the last part, he gives various examples of how we can contemplate the body and its various parts to allow the active presence and love of the Triune God to be revealed to us.
W tradycji kontemplacji chrześcijańskiej znajdujemy wiele zachęt do kontemplowania przyrody i tego, jak dzięki niej możemy odkryć Boga Stwórcę i Jego miłość, która jest na niej wyciśnięta. Natomiast św. Ignacy w Kontemplacji dla osiągnięcia miłości zachęca modlącego się do kontemplowania nie tylko stworzenia, ale także siebie samego i swojego ciała. Ponieważ nie ma zbyt wielu badań ani literatury na temat kontemplacji ciała, autor poświęca jej szczególną uwagę w tym artykule. Przekonuje, że Trójjedyny Bóg pragnie objawić się każdemu człowiekowi nie tylko poprzez księgę przyrody i Biblię, ale także poprzez jego ciało, a kontemplacja ciała może mu w tym bardzo pomóc. W pierwszym rozdziale krótko definiuje znaczenie kontemplacji, a następnie przechodzi do zrozumienia ciała ludzkiego w świetle Pisma Świętego i teologii duchowości. W ostatnim rozdziale podaje różne przykłady, w jaki sposób możemy kontemplować ciało lub jego poszczególne części i pozwolić, aby objawiła się nam czynna obecność i miłość Trójjedynego Boga.

Kościół katolicki po Soborze Watykańskim II coraz więcej uwagi przywiązuje do mistagogii, do czego w znacznej mierze przyczynił się Karl Rahner. Wzywa on do jej praktykowania w duszpasterstwie ze względu na konieczność zmiany sposobu przekazu wiary, która będzie zanikać, jeśli ludzie nie zostaną wprowadzeni w bezpośrednie, osobiste doświadczenie Boga. Dlatego Kościół w swej działalności pastoralnej nie może się ograniczyć do wykładu doktryny chrześcijańskiej, lecz winien wskazywać ludziom drogi prowadzące do życia w zjednoczeniu z Bogiem i towarzyszyć im w osiąganiu pełni człowieczeństwa. Również głoszenie słowa Bożego ma mieć charakter mistagogiczny, czyli odsłaniać ślady obecności Boga w ludzkiej rzeczywistości, odpowiadać na najgłębsze potrzeby duchowe słuchaczy i wspierać ludzi w podejmowaniu decyzji o życiu w zjednoczeniu z Bogiem. Rahnerowska koncepcja mistagogii egzystencjalnej nie neguje potrzeby mistagogii liturgicznej, ale apeluje o jej ścisłe powiązanie z codzienną ludzką egzystencją.
After the Second Vatican Council, the Catholic Church pays more and more attention to mystagogy. Karl Rahner is a person who has contributed considerably to this. His appeal is to practice it in pastoral care, and a change in the method of transmitting the faith. It will disappear if people are not introduced into God's direct personal experience. Therefore, the Church, in her pastoral activity, can't limit herself to the exposition of Christian doctrine. She should show people the paths leading to life in union with God and accompany them in achieving the fullness of humanity. Also, the proclamation of the word of God is to be of a mystagogical character, that is, to reveal traces of God's presence in human reality, respond to the deepest spiritual needs of listeners and support people in making decisions about living in relationship with God. Rahner's concept of existential mystagogy doesn't negate the need for liturgical mystagogy but appeals for its close connection with everyday human existence.

Słowo Boże zajmuje centralne miejsce w duchowości Założycielki Zgromadzenia Sióstr Urszulanek Serca Jezusa Konającego. Matka Ledóchowska jest autorką dzieła Rozmyślania, które zawiera rozważania oparte na poszczególnych fragmentach Ewangelii, przeznaczone na każdy dzień roku. Jej Testament jest również pełny odniesień biblijnych i przeniknięty logiką ewangeliczną. Według świętej Urszuli medytacja Słowa Bożego w duchu wiary pozwala lepiej poznać osobę Jezusa Chrystusa i pogłębiać z Nim więź. Matka Ledóchowska swoim podejściem do Pisma Świętego wyprzedziła II Sobór Watykański. Całe jej życie stanowiło żywą egzegezę słów Chrystusa.
The aim of this article is to present selected aspects of the biblical spirituality according to writings of Saint Ursula Ledóchowska. The Word of God has the central position in the spirituality of the Founder of the Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of the Agonizing Heart of Jesus. Mother Ledóchowska is the author of Meditations, that contain considerations based on specific fragments of the Gospel, intended for each day of the year. Her Testament is also full of biblical references and permeated with the evangelical logic. According to Saint Ursula Ledóchowska the meditation of the Word of God in the spirit of faith enables us to learn more and get to know better the person of Jesus Christ and to deepen the relationship with Him. Mother Ledóchowska, by her attitude to the Holy Bible, was ahead of the Second Vatican Council’s time. All her life was an active exegesis of the words of Christ.

Opis:
For, on one hand, the missionary activity of the Church is the work of the Holy Spirit, who is also the main creator of spiritual life. It is one of the most important tasks and goals of the Christ’s Church. This means that missionary attitude is an essential dimension of Christian spirituality. The whole Christian life, especially spirituality, understood as a fruit of the cooperation with the Holy Spirit, is permeated with missionary attitude to such a degree that it should be said that Christian spirituality is simply a missionary spirituality. Its unique feature is the particular docility to the Holy Spirit. Joy is an important feature of missionary spirituality, and apostolic love up to Christ’s standard. It is a love for the Church as Christ’s Mystical Body. It is a radical ecclesial love, which does not evade the toils of missionary work, and even the sacrifice of one’s own life. An another important feature of missionary spirituality is striving for sanctity, because Christian spirituality is a function of holiness, that is – it remains in the service of holiness.
Działalność misyjna jest dziełem Ducha Świętego, który zarazem jest głównym sprawcą życia duchowego. Jest ona jednym z najważniejszych zadań i celów Kościoła Chrystusowego. Oznacza to, że misyjność stanowi istotny wymiar duchowości chrześcijańskiej. Całe życie chrześcijańskie, a zwłaszcza duchowość, rozumiana jako owoc współpracy z Duchem Świętym, jest przeniknięta misyjnością do tego stopnia, że należałoby mówić, iż duchowość chrześcijańska to po prostu duchowość misyjna. Jej specyfiką jest szczególna uległość Duchowi Świętemu. Ważną cechą duchowości misyjnej jest radość i miłość apostolska na miarę Chrystusa. Jest to miłość do Kościoła jako Mistycznego Ciała Chrystusa. Jest radykalną miłością eklezjalną, która nie uchyla się nie tylko od trudów pracy misyjnej, ale nawet przed ofiarą ze swojego życia. Inną ważną cechą duchowości misyjnej jest dążenie do świętości. Duchowość jest bowiem funkcją świętości, czyli pozostaje w służbie świętości.

The aim of this article is to present selected aspects of the biblical spirituality according to writings of Saint Ursula Ledóchowska. The Word of God has the central position in the spirituality of the Founder of the Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of the Agonizing Heart of Jesus. Mother Ledóchowska is the author of Meditations, that contain considerations based on specific fragments of the Gospel, intended for each day of the year. Her Testament is also full of biblical references and permeated with the evangelical logic. According to Saint Ursula Ledóchowska the meditation of the Word of God in the spirit of faith enables us to learn more and get to know better the person of Jesus Christ and to deepen the relationship with Him. Mother Ledóchowska, by her attitude to the Holy Bible, was ahead of the Second Vatican Council’s time. All her life was an active exegesis of the words of Christ.

Ursula Ledóchowska addresses the issue of the Christian vocation and tasks of women on many occasions and in various aspects, pointing to Mary as a model to follow. St Ursula’s writings contain a broad vision of the spiritual motherhood, encompassing mothers in the family, all lay women and religious sisters completely dedicated to God. Every Christian woman is called to spiritual motherhood, to guide and support people in their path to God; her mission is the apostolate of quiet, serene love, the apostolate of prayer and the apostolate of sacrifice in the image of Christ. A special task of the mother in the family is to care for the development of the faith of her children. The essence of a nun’s spiritual motherhood is to lead others to Christ by His bride totally devoted to the Holy Trinity.
Urszula Ledóchowska wielokrotnie i w różnych aspektach podejmuje temat chrześcijańskiego powołania i zadań kobiety, wskazując na Maryję jako na wzór do naśladowania. W pismach św. Urszuli zawarta jest szeroka wizja macierzyństwa duchowego, obejmująca zarówno matki w rodzinie, wszystkie kobiety świeckie, jak i siostry zakonne całkowicie oddane na własność Bogu. Każda chrześcijańska kobieta powołana jest do macierzyństwa duchowego, do prowadzenia i wspierania osób w ich drodze do Boga; jej misją jest apostolstwo: cichej, pogodnej miłości, modlitwy i ofiary na wzór Chrystusa. Szczególnym zadaniem matki w rodzinie jest troska o rozwój wiary jej dzieci. Istotą macierzyństwa duchowego siostry zakonnej jest prowadzenie innych do Chrystusa przez Jego oblubienicę całkowicie oddaną Trójcy Świętej.

Artykuł podejmuje zagadnienie wiary w życiu osób konsekrowanych. Jego celem jest stwierdzenie, w jakim sensie – w świetle myśli Josepha Ratzingera/Benedykta XVI – wiara jest podstawą odnowy życia osób poświęconych na własność Bogu. Artykuł wskazuje, że ich zadanie to umacnianie wiary, oraz wyjaśnia, jakie konsekwencje niesie ze sobą to posłannictwo. Benedykt XVI podkreśla, że życie konsekrowane nie rozmija się ze swoją istotą jedynie wtedy, gdy jest przeżywane w wierze. Oczekuje od osób całkowicie oddanych Bogu, by żyły głęboką wiarą, intensywną i żywą więzią osobową z Chrystusem, w dynamice ciągłego poszukiwania Oblicza Pana, a od konkretnej realizacji tych postaw uzależniona jest odnowa ich życia. Analiza papieskiej myśli pozwala wyciągnąć ważne wnioski wyznaczające kierunek wyjścia z kryzysowej sytuacji, w której współcześnie znajduje się życie konsekrowane.
The article addresses the issue of faith in the life of consecrated persons. Its aim is to state in what sense – in the light of the thought of Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI – faith is the foundation for the renewal of the life of those consecrated to God. The article points out that their task is to strengthen the faith; it explains what consequences this mission entails. Benedict XVI emphasises that only a consecrated life lived in faith does not fail to live up to its essence. He expects persons totally dedicated to God to live a profound faith, an intense and living personal relationship with Christ, in a dynamic of constant search for the Face of the Lord, and the renewal of their lives depends on the concrete realisation of these attitudes. The analysis of the Pope’s thought allows us to draw important conclusions that point the way out of the crisis situation in which consecrated life finds itself today.

Proces sekularyzacji i relatywizacji życia współczesnego człowieka dotyka wierzących w ich doświadczeniu Kościoła. Jednocześnie zauważalne jest zainteresowanie duchowością, ale często o charakterze zindywidualizowanym i pozaeklezjalnym. Stąd wynika konieczność refleksji nad właściwym rozumieniem tożsamości i misji Kościoła. Adekwatnym pojęciem dla opisania tej tożsamości jest communio. Artykuł wyjaśnia właściwe jego rozumienie w kluczu biblijnym ze względu na wieloznaczność, która występuje w publikacjach z zakresu teologii, a także w naukach pozateologicznych. Szczególnego znaczenia nabiera ono na gruncie teologii duchowości, określając charakter jedności pomiędzy Bogiem a człowiekiem. Analiza Starego Testamentu odsłania istotne aspekty komunijne wynikające z Przymierza. Analiza Nowego Testamentu wskazuje zaś, że w Jezusie Chrystusie dokonała się pełnia komunijnego zjednoczenia, która znajduje swoją kontynuację w Kościele. Z tego względu duchowość chrześcijanina musi być interpersonalna, chrystocentryczna, chrystoformiczna oraz eklezjalna. Ten proces kształtuje życie moralne, znajdujące swoje odzwierciedlenie w życiu indywidualnym, społecznym, ekonomicznym, a nawet politycznym.
The process of secularization and relativization of modern man’s life touches the believers in their experience of the Church. At the same time, there is a noticeable interest in spirituality, but often of an individualized and non-religious nature. Hence, the necessity arises to reflect on the proper understanding of the identity of the Church. The appropriate concept for describing this identity is communio. The article explains its proper understanding in the biblical key due to the ambiguity that occurs in publications in the field of theology, as well as in non-theological sciences. It acquires a special meaning in the theology of spirituality, by defining the character of unity between God and man. The analysis of the Old Testament reveals essential aspects of the communion arising from the covenant. The analysis of the New Testament shows that the fullness of communion was accomplished in Jesus Christ, and it finds its continuation in the Church. Therefore, Christians’ spirituality should be interpersonal, Christocentric, Christoformic and ecclesial. This process shapes moral life, reflected in individual, social, economic and even political life.

Artykuł przedstawia zagadnienie pogody ducha jako radości paschalnej w pismach św. Urszuli Ledóchowskiej. Założycielka Zgromadzenia Sióstr Urszulanek Serca Jezusa Konającego, której duchowość cechuje się realizmem, ukazuje przede wszystkim rzeczywisty fundament postawy pogody ducha i jej najgłębsze źródła. W ujęciu matki Ledóchowskiej pogoda ducha jest dojrzałą syntezą radości i cierpienia, jest doświadczeniem mocy Boga działającej w słabości człowieka; stanowi dar, który wymaga od osoby zarówno wyrzeczenia, jak i świadomej współpracy z Bogiem; nie można pojąć pogody ducha bez tajemnicy krzyża Chrystusowego. Święta Urszula akcentuje ascetyczny i apostolski charakter pogody ducha. Artykuł uzasadnia – wbrew temu, co już próbowano pokazać (jakoby pogoda ducha prowadziła do wątpliwej teologicznie „duchowości optymizmu”) – że pogoda ducha wiąże się z duchowością nadziei teologalnej.
The article presents the issue of serenity as Easter joy in the writings of St. Urszula Ledóchowska. The foundress of the Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of the Agonizing Heart of Jesus, whose spirituality is characterized by realism, shows above all the real foundation of the attitude of serenity and its deepest sources. According to Mother Ledóchowska, serenity is a mature synthesis of joy and suffering, it is an experience of God’s power working in human weakness; it is a gift that requires a person to both renounce and consciously cooperate with God; it cannot be understood without the mystery of the Cross of Christ. Saint Ursula emphasizes the ascetic and apostolic nature of cheerfulness. The article justifies – contrary to what has already been tried to show (that the serenity leads to theologically questionable „spirituality of optimism”) – that serenity is connected with the spirituality of theological hope.

Pluralizm światopoglądowy we współczesnym świecie przynosi wyzwanie dla chrześcijaństwa, by wejść w realny dialog z odmiennymi poglądami, zwłaszcza dotyczącymi (nie)istnienia Boga i podstaw życia człowieka. Obejmuje to również dyskurs ze środowiskiem ateistów, agnostyków czy obojętnych religijnie. Źródło tego dyskursu tkwi w naturze człowieka, który dąży do jedności z innymi oraz w wielkim nakazie misyjnym Chrystusa. Poza tym przemiany współczesnego świata, swoisty kryzys duchowy wielu ludzi, a co za tym idzie kryzys tożsamości człowieka, zasad, priorytetów, wartości domaga się mocnego głosu o ponadmaterialnym wymiarze życia człowieka, o autentycznym i zdrowym humanizmie, o znaczeniu uniwersalnych wartości, zwłaszcza w zakresie życia, zdrowia, szacunku dla bliźniego, kultury. Kościół wezwany jest więc do wychodzenia w kierunku ludzi będących poza jego strukturami formalnie lub moralnie. Wynika to z charakteru jego misji, a także z faktu, by nie stał się marginalną grupą, postrzeganą jako sekta, relikt przeszłości czy formacją ograniczającą wolność człowieka. Wobec tego konieczne staje się organizowanie różnego rodzaju spotkań w ramach „Dziedzińca Pogan” czy „Dziedzińca Dialogu”. Jest to też okazja do podejmowania zdrowej chrześcijańskiej apologetyki, koniecznej z samej natury wiary, ale również jako konfrontacja z ateizmem dogmatycznym, coraz bardziej agresywnym wobec religii, zwłaszcza katolicyzmu. Dialog wierzących z niewierzącymi jest konieczny. To sprzyja poznaniu świata, lepszemu układaniu wzajemnego istnienia w społeczeństwie. Dla ochrzczonych jednak ważna jest perspektywa ewangelizacyjna i prawdziwy szacunek wobec współrozmówców.
Pluralism of contemporary worldviews makes it challenging for Christianity to enter into a dialogue with different opinions, especially those relating to (non)existence of God and foundations of man's life. Such a discussion is also difficult with the atheist, agnostic and religiously ambivalent circles. The source of this discourse lays in the human nature, which strives for unity with others, and in Christ's Great Commission. Moreover, the evolution of contemporary world, a peculiar spiritual crisis of many and effectively a crisis of human identity, rules, priorities and values demands a firm voice on the supernatural dimension of human's life, on the authentic and healthy humanism and on the value of universal virtues, especially when it comes to life, health, mutual respect and culture. Thus, the Church is called to accommodate people that are outside of its moral or formal structures. This results from the nature of its mission and prevents it from becoming a marginal group seen as a cult, as a historic relic or as an organisation limiting man's freedom. Therefore, it becomes necessary to organise various meetings relating to the “Courtyard of Gentiles” or “Courtyard Dialogue”. This is also an opportunity to pick up healthy Christian apologetic, which is necessary because of the the nature of faith itself, and to confront the dogmatic atheism which is more and more aggressive towards religion, especially towards Catholicism. Dialogue of the faithful with the gentiles is necessary. It also encourages exploring of the world and facilitates common existence in the society. For the baptised the perspective of evangelisation and the true respect for their interlocutors are equally important.

The article presents the work by Evagrius Ponticus De octo spiritibus malitiae and its place in Christian spirituality. The object of the analysis are the main characteristics of the contemporary interpretations of the doctrine of the Seven Deadly Sins contained in Evagrius' work. Particular sins are discussed in contemporary interpretations concerning spirituality: gastrimargia (gluttony), porneia (lust), filarguria (greed), wrath, acedia (sloth), vainglory and pride. References are indicated of the Seven Deadly Sins to numerous aspects of Christian spiritual life.

The article shows how in the light of God’s Mercy a human being rediscovers and realises the basic truth that in his/her heart is a great longing and hunger for God’s love. God invites to listen to what He says to humans through the words of the Holy Bible. He invites people to listen and realise the loving presence of God inside. The author of the article shows that trust is the fruit of a relationship in which a person knows that he/she is loved. Trust presupposes a longing for God and a sincere search for Him in everything. The road to trust is expressed in three attitudes: in seeking God inside; in sensitive listening to His voice in one’s heart; and in trustingly opening oneself to His love and immersion in His mercy. Thanks to loneliness, silence and prayer, a human being discovers the Source of life which lies deep inside his/her heart. In the human being, in his/her interior is the source from which he/she draws life and nourishes hope. Immersion in this source of mercy means that one experiences inner change.
Artykuł pokazuje, jak w świetle Bożego Miłosierdzia człowiek na nowo odkrywa i uświadamia sobie podstawową prawdę, że w jego sercu kryje się wielka tęsknota za miłością i głód Boga. Bóg sam zaprasza do słuchania tego, co mówi do człowieka przez słowa Pisma Świętego. Zaprasza, aby człowiek, słuchając, uświadomił sobie pełną miłości obecność Boga w swoim wnętrzu. Autor artykułu pokazuje, że ufnośćjest owocem relacji, w której człowiek wie, że jest kochany. Ufność zakłada tęsknotę za Bogiem i szczere poszukiwanie Go we wszystkim. Droga do ufności wyraża się w trzech postawach: w poszukiwaniu Boga w swoim wnętrzu, we wrażliwym słuchaniu Jego głosu we własnym sercu oraz w ufnym otwarciu się na Jego miłość i zanurzeniu w Jego miłosierdziu. Dzięki samotności, milczeniu i modlitwie człowiek odkrywa Źródło życia, które kryje się w głębi jego serca. W człowieku bowiem, w jego wnętrzu, jest źródło, z którego czerpie on życie i karmi swoją nadzieję. Zanurzenie w tym źródle miłosierdzia sprawia, że człowiek doświadcza wewnętrznej przemiany.

Triada „fiat, magnificat i służba” podaje kluczowe słowa, które stanowią życiowy drogowskaz dla wszystkich wierzących i pozwalają przybliżyć się do misterium Matki Zbawiciela oraz spojrzeć na Jej relacje z Bogiem i z ludźmi.
This article presents the bases of a Marian spirituality in the writings of St. Ursula Ledóchowska. According to the foundress of the Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of the Agonizing Heart of Jesus, the words: "fiat, magnificat and service" point what is fundamental in following the Mother of God, who is a faithful handmaid of the Lord, opened to God's plans and intentions, accepting God's will and His guidance, which exceeds human ability to understand and comprehend. The triad of "fiat, magnificat and service" gives the key words that constitute a life signpost for all believers and allow them to come closer to the mystery of the Mother of the Saviour and to look at Her relationship with God and with people.

Celem artykułu jest charakterystyka pojęcia kontemplacji, jaką proponują polscy mistycy żyjący między XIV a XX wiekiem. Materiałem badawczym jest Antologia mistyki polskiej pod redakcją Mariana Zawady OCD, której pierwszy tom obejmuje teksty mężczyzn, a drugi — kobiet. Z materiału wyekscerpowano wszystkie fragmenty zawierające analizowane pojęcie w celu określenia kontekstów, w jakich polscy mistycy używają tego słowa. Badanie skupiło się na zdaniach mających formę definicji. Zostało ono wzbogacone odniesieniami do definicji kontemplacji istniejącej w obecnej Encyklopedii katolickiej, jak i do tej, która znajduje się w słownikach języka polskiego. Badanie ukazało bogactwo treści teologicznych i piękno języka zawarte w tekstach polskich mistyków. Przekaz zapisany przez osoby doświadczające kontemplacji znacznie poszerza bowiem wiedzę czerpaną jedynie ze słowników. Badanie ukazało także ogromne oczytanie i obycie polskich mistyków — ich refleksje nie odbiegają od tekstów wielkich teologów i mistyków innych krajów i jak najbardziej zasługują na włączenie ich do współcześnie pisanych prac teologicznych.
The purpose of this article is to characterize the concept of contemplation as proposed by Polish mystics living between the 14th and 20th centuries. The research material is the Anthology of polish mysticism edited by Marian Zawada OCD, the first volume of which includes texts by men and the second by women. All fragments containing the analyzed concept were excerpted from the material in order to determine the contexts in which Polish mystics use the word. The study focused on sentences in the form of definitions. The research has been enriched with references to the definition of contemplation that exists in the current Catholic Encyclopedia, as well as the one found in dictionaries of the Polish language. The study showed the richness of theological content and the beauty of language contained in the texts of Polish mystics. The message recorded by those experiencing contemplation greatly expands the knowledge gleaned from dictionaries alone. The analysis proved that Polish mystics were very educated and well-read — their reflections do not differ from the texts of the great theologians and mystics of other countries, and as much as possible deserve to be included in contemporary theological works.

This article presents Pope Benedict XVI’s juxtaposition of consecrated life and relativism in the contemporary world. The Pope believes that relativism is today one of the most dangerous threats to the Christian faith. Benedict XVI counters this contemporary phenomenon with the answer given by Christianity. The life of the people who are totally devoted to God stays in visible opposition to the contemporary relativistic mentality. Consecrated life translates into the exclusive love for Jesus Christ and the devotion to Him within the Church. Consecrated persons recognise the absolute primacy of God. Through the practice of evangelical counsels, they closely accompany and follow Jesus. Consecrated life, due to its nature, is atestimony of finding and recognizing Jesus Christ as the Truth that one can entrust oneself to.
Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia zagadnienie życia konsekrowanego wobec relatywizmu we współczesnym świecie na podstawie nauczania papieża Benedykta XVI. Według papieża relatywizm jest dzisiaj jednym z największych zagrożeń dla wiary chrześcijańskiej – Benedykt XVI przeciwstawia mu odpowiedź, jaką daje chrześcijaństwo. W widocznej opozycji do współczesnej mentalności relatywistycznej znajduje się życie osób poświęconych na własność Bogu. Życie konsekrowane realizuje wezwanie do wyłącznej miłości Chrystusa i służby Jemu w Kościele. Osoby zakonne żyją absolutnym prymatem Boga, a przez ślubowanie rad ewangelicznych idą drogą naśladowania Jezusa bardziej z bliska. Natura życia konsekrowanego sprawia, że jest ono świadectwem odnalezienia Jezusa Chrystusa jako Prawdy, której można całkowicie powierzyć siebie

Artykuł dotyczy aktualności chrześcijańskiego doświadczenia znaczenia ciszy i milczenia. Duchowość chrześcijańska przedstawia się tutaj jako cechująca się zrównoważonym i realistycznym podejściem do człowieka jako bytu potrzebującego zarówno ciszy i milczenia, jak też wymiany informacji. Następnie, opierając się w dużej mierze na nauczaniu papieża Benedykta XVI, zwrócono uwagę na potencjał oraz na potrzeby współczesnego społeczeństwa medialnego. W takim kontekście zostało z kolei zaprezentowane znaczenie milczenia i ciszy w przypadku mediów jako pozytywnie ważnego, nawet koniecznego elementu owocnego tworzenia ich oferty oraz korzystania z niej.
The article concerns the Christian experience of the meaning of quiet and silence. Christian spirituality is presented here as characterized by a balanced and realistic approach to man as a being in need of both quiet and silence, as well as the exchange of information. Then, based largely on the teaching of Pope Benedict XVI, the article focuses on the potential and needs of contemporary media society. Lastly, within such a context, the importance of silence and quiet in the case of the media - is presented as a positively important, even essential element of the fruitful creation of the media’s offerings, and subsequently, how it is used.
