    В статье публикуется малоизвестный текст конца XVII в. – образец поэтической формы сarmen echicum. Комментируются сложные для понимания фрагменты, анализируется сюжет. Предлагается гипотеза о месте этого произведения в культуре конца XVII – начала XVIII вв. Кратко рассматривается история эхо-диалога в русской литературе.
    The aim of the article is to publish and discuss a little-known text from the end of the 17th century – a model representative of the poetic form called carmen echicum. Difficult fragments are commented upon and the plot is analyzed. A hypothesis about the piece’s place in its broader cultural context is put forward. A history of сarmen echicum in Russian literature is briefly outlined.

    In introductione (I) auctor Paschalis carminis primum praesentatur (1), deinde allegoriae notio (2) eiusque species nec non usus in antiquitate ethnica et christiana exponuntur (3). In secunda autem commentationis parte (II) omnes allegoriae, quae in Paschali carmine Sedulii inveniuntur, afferuntur et accurate investigantur. In tertia demum parte (III) conclusiones deducuntur: Bibliae interpretationes allegoricae, quae in Paschali carmine Sedulii Caelii inventae sunt, ad gentiles diriguntur; pagani optime eruditi doctrinam christianam saepe iam exacte sciebant et Paschale carmen Sedulii eiusque allegoricas interpretationes biblicas intellegere poterant; explicationes spirituales in sensu mystico et typico rhetoricae artis litteratis blandimento erant; allegoriae Sedulianae pulcherrimae esse videntur et perplacebant fortasse gentilium lectoribus prudentibus, qui orationis virtutes colebant et facilius ad fidem imbui ac voluntarii adquiri Deo poterant.

    The aim of this article is to analyze two literary works of the Silver Age that are the poetic interpretation of Carmen story: the poem Carmen by A. Blok and the verse “Carmen” by I. Severyanin. Analyzing both literary works we pointed on different motives from the novel by Merimee and the opera by Bizet. We noticed that Blok and Severyanin not only simply had used well known situations but also had proposed their own interpretation of Carmen based on the intersemiotic relationship between literature, music and opera art.

    It can be claimed that modern European musical culture contributed to the crystalliza-tion and dissemination of a certain stereotype of a Gypsy person, and contributed to the creation of the highly romanticised Gypsy myth. The author of the paper – Anna G. Piotrowska, shows how 19th century operas, operettas or instrumental works helped to propagate the image of the stereotyped Gypsy, and ventures to prove that also pop music heavily draws on the same stereotype. Of special interest for her is Polish 20th and 21st century situation where conventionalized picture of Gypsies was conveyed and even a subgenre called Gypsy disco polo emerged. The author summarizes her observations by defining these specific features attributed to the widely understood ‘Gypsyness’ that assure its popularity in the realm of musical culture.

    Opis:
    Church Fathers tried to combat the legacy of paganism and made tireless efforts towards Christianising family events, recalling the teaching of the Bible. Tertullian, for example, complained that the Christians of Carthage didn’t marry in the church. The article discusses Carmen XXV of Paulinus of Nola († 431), written for the occasion of marriage of Julian and Tysia. The poem contains one of the oldest descriptions of the ceremony of Christian marriage. Bishop of Nola pays attention to the spiritual dimension of the sacrament – specifically to its rich, full of symbols rite as well as to fact that the Christian meaning of the marriage ceremony should become the main focus for wedding preparations.

    Carmen Laforet (Barcelona, 1921-Madrid, 2004) ha sido una de las escritoras más importantes del siglo XX en España. Su literatura muestra un particular interés por la naturaleza, destacando su vínculo con el mar, como observamos en La isla y los demonios (1952). Su ciudad natal, Barcelona, le aporta la cultura del mundo marítimo mediterráneo. Por otro lado, cuando la autora tiene dos años su familia se traslada a Gran Canaria, donde vive hasta su regreso a Barcelona en 1939; su estancia infantil y juvenil en la isla le da el conocimiento de la atlanticidad. La isla y los demonios es la segunda novela de Carmen Laforet, después del éxito de Nada (1945), ganadora esta del primer Premio Nadal. El relato de La isla y los demonios se ubica en la isla de Gran Canaria, y si bien las alusiones biográficas no son exactas se relacionan con las vividas por la autora. La protagonista, Marta Camino, es una joven de espíritu libre cuyo padre ha fallecido y cuya madre ha enfermado. Su rebeldía entronca con un sentimiento de cercanía con la naturaleza, en la que adquiere gran relevancia el espacio del mar, con toda su simbología, que para la joven viene a connotar la armonía y la libertad para huir y dejar atrás los demonios de la isla.

    Anna Gryglaszewska in the article Mexico haunted by history (“Las paredes hablan” by Carmen Boullosa) offers an analysis of historiographical meta-novel written by a contemporary Latin American writer. Carmen Boullosa, using the theme of haunting of the present by the past, returns to some dramatic events in the history of her homeland which had a huge impact on the lives of many generations of her compatriots. The beginning of the Mexican’s war for the independence from Spain and the bloody and full of victims revolution of 1910 are, without a doubt, the facts that have shaped the Mexican identity. Boullosa, telling the story of an impossible love three times, reinterpretated of these events, making them an important background for the action of heroes of this novel. Gryglaszewska, analyzing the novel, argues that the myth, understood by Mircea Eliade as a story rooted in the collective unconscious of humanity, serves as a base for Boullosa’s fiction pivoted around the history of Mexico. According to the Aztec mythology, gods, so that the world could exist, demand human blood. This is the reason why the bloody history of the writer’s homeland is marked by the stigma of suffering.

    Beaterio del Carmen was founded in the second half of the 17th century. Its operation was made possible by bequests and donations. Although it functioned throughout the 18th century, its greatest development occurred in the last forty years of the century, when Nicolasa de Christo became the Preposita. During her govern, not only the buildings of the beatrium itself but also the area controlled by the tertiaries expanded significantly. It even came to the closing of public streets inside the property, which ceased to be generally accessible. The presented article shows the urban transformation of the beaterium quarter, the process of attaching individual plots of land from the time of the institution’s foundation to the early 19th century and the formation of ownership of the property complex belonging to the Tertiaries was reconstructed.
    Beaterio del Carmen zostało ufundowane w drugiej połowie XVII wieku. Jego funkcjonowanie stało się możliwe dzięki zapisom i darowiznom. Choć funkcjonowało przez cały wiek XVIII, jego największy rozwój przypada na ostatnie czterdzieści lat stulecia, kiedy jego przełożoną została Nicolasa de Christo. Za jej czasów znacznie powiększyły się nie tylko zabudowania samego beatrium, ale i teren kontrolowany przez tercjarki. Doszło nawet do zamknięcia wewnątrz nieruchomości publicznych ulic, które przestały być ogólnie dostępne. Prezentowany artykuł ukazuje przemiany urbanistyczne kwartału beaterium, zrekonstruowano w nim także proces przyłączania poszczególnych działek od czasów fundacji instytucji do początków XIX wieku i formowanie się własności zespołu nieruchomości należących do tercjarek.
