The article’s theme concerns challenges encountered in the 21st century in the course of language communicative education within the scope of Polish as a native language. The author expresses conviction that socialisation process does not substitute for education, and therefore one of the paramount purposes/aims of language education within the scope of native language is to cater to the language-communicative needs of students stemming from cultural transformation taking place in the contemporary world. New tasks that a Polish language teacher needs to face are developing the so-called new communicative competency which facilitates communicative acts in media-dominated world of today, including digital media. The said tasks also involve counteracting the lowering of verbal communication standards, particularly the cases of verbal aggression and primitive vocabulary.

Opis:
Current processes of globalization and increased mobility of people have caused that the competencies for intercultural communication become a condition for proper functioning of society. Together with a group of researchers from the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, University of Bialystok, we undertook a research on conditions of intercultural communication competence of young people in the Northeastern Poland. These competencies result from four dimensions: knowledge of cultural differences, reaction to situations involving cultural differences, position on the continuum of ethnocentrism - relativism and attitudes toward cultural diversity. In the text, I present the analysis of selected factors that influence the family which result in the development of communicative competence in the studied group. The main idea is that family, in spite of social changes, is still the most important socializing group which creates life attitudes of young people.

The economic and social transformations that have taken place in the Republic of Belarus in recent decades have led to a change in the state educational paradigm towards the priority of personal development and self-realization of students. There is an urgent need to develop creative abilities of the future specialist. The problem of freedom of choice and the possibility of making independent decisions in conditions of social change are becoming significant. In this regard, innovations in the educational activities of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno are aimed at changing the personal attitude, the implementation of decisions, and the position of responsible and independent decision-making of future specialists. One of the methods that ensures the activity of students in the process of employment, as well as their independent thinking, is the heuristic method of teaching.

Aim. The goal of the study is to describe the teacher’s corrective work on pre-schoolers’ sound pronunciation that is developed according to the children’s age, physiological and mental norms, and special educational needs. Methods. Four children with special educational needs participated in this experimental study. We used the method of monitoring children’s speech during various activities: play, household activity and teaching (during speech therapy classes and various types of practical language classes). Results and conclusion. Age-related features of pre-schoolers’ speech development have been identified in the study. The reasons and indicators of pre-schoolers’ speech development disorders have been described, and the ways to overcome language disorders have been found. The experimental study tested the effectiveness of articulation exercises in working with children with special educational needs in an inclusive environment, the involvement of psychologists and children’s parents to overcome speech disorders of pre-schoolers, and the use of folklore texts. Originality. In the experimental study, we observed that riddles, proverbs, ditties, tongue twisters, fairy tales, lullabies, nursery rhymes, counting rhymes, and sayings are an effective means of phonetics and articulation work, during both the speech development classes and other classes as well as during walks.

This study aims to examine the communicative Arabic teaching methods currently used in Korean universities that extend beyond MSA to promote learner understanding and awareness of colloquial Arabic dialects. Arabic is characterized by a diglossic linguistic situation, which means that it consists of both diverse colloquial dialects used in different regions and social classes, and the written standard of Modern Standard Arabic. Recent trends in the field of language education have been moving toward a communicative approach to instruction. Since both MSA and spoken Arabic are important language variants that cannot be ignored, university curricula should integrate both variants into language courses. In the spoken Arabic education awareness survey conducted in the present study, the majority of the respondents answered that they wanted to increase the number of spoken Arabic classes offered at their university. Concerning colloquial Arabic, the majority also answered that they preferred the Egyptian dialect, followed by the Gulf and Levantine dialects. In terms of the timing of colloquial Arabic instruction, most respondents answered that they thought it should start in third year or in second year at university. It is also important to develop textbooks and other teaching and learning materials to aid the efficient instruction of spoken Arabic, which will give students the communicative skills necessary to be effective and competent communicators regardless of where they travel, study, or work in the Arab world.

The article deals with the essence of theoretic and experimental check of author’s andragogical model of development of foreign language communicative competence of lecturers of higher military educational institutions into educational process. The definition of “foreign language communicative competence” and its structure is proposed by author. The article reveals the main stages of experiment of foreign language communicative competence development. The results of pedagogical experiment on development foreign language communicative competence were presented and substantiated with help of Fisher F-test. The efficiency of the andragogical model was statistically proved.

Opis:
Though the system of maritime education and training in Ukraine has already been formed there is still the lack of graduates’ ability to perform specific duties especially the difficulties in the use of Maritime English during shipboard practice and professional activity. It stresses out the need to develop the system of professional training to provide the growth of quality and effectiveness of higher maritime education and to guarantee the development of communicative competency of future seafarers. The current study investigates the growing need of professionally-oriented communicative competency formation and development while teaching cadets/students of higher maritime institutions is based on the requirements stipulated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to the level of English language level proficiency and the recognition of the English language as the working language of multicultural shipboard environment. The research shows that the professionally-oriented communicative competency of seafarers must be regarded as a complex phenomenon which must be studied from the point of view of a systematic approach as a single integral system that encompasses a specific amount of components. The study demonstrated the structure of the professionally-oriented communicative competency of seafarers and analyzed the core structural components of the professionally-oriented communicative competency of seafarers.
Choć system kształcenia i szkolenia morskiego na Ukrainie został już ukształtowany, nadal brakuje absolwentów zdolności do wykonywania określonych obowiązków, zwłaszcza są trudności w posługiwaniu się językiem morskim w trakcie praktyki i pracy zawodowej na statku. Autoray podkreśla potrzebę rozwoju systemu szkolenia zawodowego, aby zapewnić wzrost jakości i efektywności szkolnictwa wyższego morskiego oraz zagwarantować rozwój kompetencji komunikacyjnych przyszłych marynarzy. Obecne badanie bada rosnącą potrzebę profesjonalnego kształtowania i rozwoju kompetencji komunikacyjnych podczas nauczania podchorążych / studentów wyższych uczelni morskich w oparciu o wymagania określone przez Międzynarodową Organizację Morską (IMO) do poziomu znajomości języka angielskiego i uznania języka angielskiego jako języka roboczego wielokulturowego środowiska okrętowego. Z badań wynika, że kompetencje komunikacyjne marynarzy zorientowane zawodowo należy traktować jako zjawisko złożone, które należy badać z punktu widzenia podejścia systemowego jako jednego integralnego systemu obejmującego określoną liczbę elementów. W badaniu przedstawiono strukturę kompetencji komunikacyjnych zorientowanych zawodowo marynarzy oraz przeanalizowano podstawowe elementy strukturalne kompetencji komunikacyjnych marynarzy zorientowanych zawodowo.
