Opis:

Opis:
The development of an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) with an eye-in-hand robot arm atop for depressing elevator button is proposed. The AMR can construct maps and perform localization using the ORB-SLAM algorithm (the Oriented FAST [Features from Accelerated Segment Test] and Rotated BRIEF [Binary Robust Independent Elementary Features] feature detector-Simultaneous Localization and Mapping). It is also capable of real-time obstacle avoidance using information from 2D-LiDAR sensors. The AMR, robot manipulator, cameras, and sensors are all integrated under a robot operating system (ROS). In experimental investigation to dispatch the AMR to depress an elevator button, AMR navigation initiating from the laboratory is divided into three parts. First, the AMR initiated navigation using ORB-SLAM for most of the journey to a waypoint nearby the elevator. The resulting mean absolute error (MAE) is 8.5 cm on the x-axis, 10.8 cm on the y-axis, 9.2-degree rotation angle about the z-axis, and the linear displacement from the reference point is 15.1 cm. Next, the ORB-SLAM is replaced by an odometry-based 2D-SLAM method for further navigating the AMR from waypoint to a point facing the elevator between 1.5 to 3 meter distance, where the ORB-SLAM is ineffective due to sparse feature points for localization and where the elevator can be clearly detected by an eye-in-hand machine vision onboard the AMR. Finally, the machine vision identifies the position in space of the elevator and again the odometry-based 2D-SLAM method is employed for navigating the AMR to the front of the elevator between 0.3 to 0.5 meter distance. Only at this stage can the small elevator button be detected and reached by the robot arm on the AMR. An average 60% successful rate of button depressing by the AMR starting at the laboratory is obtained in the experiments. Improvements for successful elevator button depressing rate are also pointed out.

This paper describes many types of public cloud computing and problem with cloud computing security. Cloud computing is the use of computing resources that are delivered as a service over a network. Cloud computing relies on sharing of resources to achieve coherence and economies of scale similar. The paper presents the several years' experience of the AMR (Automated Meters Reading) system operation based on a private cloud. AMR projects are successfully used by numerous local and national utilities but it was one of the first projects based on cloud technology. This system AMR was implemented in a utility company. The computer system has been working commercially since 2008. Users have to connect to server using Remote Desktop Connection. It was a new solution for the users. They were accustomed to the fact that all the programs they had installed on own PC. The past experience show that the cloud computing is a very forward-looking technology which can be used in systems AMR/AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure).

Opis:
This paper describes the development of a computational code REFLOPS USG (REactive FLOw solver for Propulsion Systems on UnStructured Grids) based on the Favre averaged Navier-Stokes equations with chemical reactions for semi-ideal multicomponent gas to predict the structure and dynamics of three-dimensional unsteady detonation as it occurs in the Rotating Detonation Engine (RDE). This work provides an overview of second order accurate in time and space finite volume method applied to conservation equations and its implementation on unstructured self-adaptive tetrahedral or hexahedral three-dimensional cell-centred meshes. The inviscid fluxes are given by the Riemann solver and stabilization is ensured by the proper limiters inherited from the TVD theory or gradient based limiters. The stiff equations of chemical kinetics are solved by use of implicit DVODE (Double precision Variablecoefficient Ordinary Differential Equation solver, with fixed-leading-coefficient implementation) routine or by explicit Chemeq2 routine. Additional improvements are incorporated into the code such as parallelization in OpenMP and implementation of NVIDIA CUDA technology. REFLOPS USG has become a fundamental numerical tool in the research of RDE at the Institute of Aviation in Warsaw, in frame of Innovative Economy project UDA-POIG.01.03.01-14-071 ‘Turbine engine with detonation combustion chamber’ supported by EU and Ministry of Regional Development, Poland. The simulations presented in this paper are based on inviscid or viscous multicomponent semi-ideal gas flow with chemical reactions. Due to high computational costs only simple chemical reaction mechanisms are used here.

Public utilities such as water, electricity and gas are essential services that play a vital role in economic and social development. Automation of public utility services addresses the huge losses faced by the utility services today, due to non-accounting of distributed utility resources. Automation improves government revenues. The different type of architectures are proposed and designed for automated metering, control and management of public utilities like water, gas, and electricity for effective management and control of resources. The various network topologies, hardware and software architectures to automation and management of public utilities are proposed by researchers. In this paper, the different technologies proposed by various researchers across the globe are surveyed and list of issues and challenges for automated meter reading and control of public utilities is identified.

Opis:
The article presents technological solutions of the communication and data transmission area that are indispensable for the organization of smart metering. As the term “smart metering” is very broad, particular attention has been focused on solutions based on the GSM-based wireless transmission that makes possible to flexibly model the process of remote meter reading with the use of the existing technological infrastructure. The article determines factors that can decide over the application of a such communication type as well as technical specifications to be met in order to develop a system that could successfully operate over an extensive network. Characteristics of the communication equipment used in real-time metering and billing systems have also been presented.
