The paper describes tools, both commercial and free, useful in maintaining the required level of information security protection - automated web application vulnerability scanners. The appendix contains the modified Web Application Security Scanner Evaluation Criteria list, the project of Web Application Security Consortium (WASC).

Economic Aspects of the Internet : the Rise of the Commercial Foundations of the WebThe article describes the Internet and the crucial conflict in expectations as regards common convictions which emphasize the social view of the Web. Such views are very popular and as a result they bring the great vision of the Internet as a new public space which demands democratic civil rights for example. In this situation inevitably a conflict emerges between this vision and the business which treats the Internet as its natural environment. The article describes the very beginnings of the Internet and the early phase of this conflict, which has existed from the very beginning mostly due to the counterculture of the sixties in USA. The article also describes the commercial sources of the Web which allowed its voluminous progress and the role of the third player in this game – the Government of the USA which has seen the Internet as a chance for potential economic growth. The article also emphasizes the great significance of the macroeconomic environment in the eighties, which also considerably enhanced the development of the Web. The article documents the predominance of the economic aspect of the Internet, which has become a fact already at the beginning of the nineties and describes incidents which confirm this situation, for example the rebellion of Jon Postel in 1998.

Opis:
The protection of intellectual property is necessary just as the protection of any property. However, it should not lead to creating undue benefits being the result of other people’s investments. Will the new directive, supported by artists and publishers, meet these expectations? The author recalls the discussions that took place during creating ACTA 1 in 2012 and the current effects of these provisions. According to the author, the main threat is the progressive privatization of knowledge, which means that there is less and less room for knowledge as a general, social and public good. Research at universities is carried out thanks to the free flow of information and knowledge already accumulated by generations of scientists.
Ochrona własności intelektualnej jest konieczna, tak jak każdej własności. Nie powinna jednak prowadzić do powstawania korzyści nienależnych, będących efektem inwestycji innych ludzi. Czy nowa dyrektywa, którą popierają artyści i wydawcy prasy spełni te oczekiwania? Autor przypomina dyskusje, jakie prowadzone były podczas tworzenia ACTA 1 w 2012 roku oraz obecne skutki ówczesnych zapisów. Zdaniem autora, podstawowym zagrożeniem jest postępująca prywatyzacja wiedzy, co powoduje, że jest coraz mniej miejsca dla wiedzy jako dobra ogólnego, społecznego i publicznego. Badania naukowe na wyższych uczelniach są prowadzone dzięki swobodnemu przepływowi informacji i wiedzy już nagromadzonej przez pokolenia naukowców.

Dieser Aufsatz beschäftigt sich mit dem Thema: Kirche gegen Idolatrie in Acta synodalia in Jahren 50-308. Das Verhältnis der antiken Kirche zum Heidentum wurde schon oft in verschiedenen Publikationen untersucht. Im Rahmen dieses Artikels analisiert der Verfasser die Quellentexte in Hinsicht auf die Problematik der Idolatrie und Apostasie. Es handelt sich um folgende Synoden, welche die Thematik erörtert haben; die Synoden in Karthago in Jahren 251-244, Synode in Cyrta 305, Elwira 306, Ankyra 314 und Arles 314. Die heidnische Religion war eine große Gefahr für die Kirche der ersten Jahrhunderten. Die Auseinandersetzung mit Idolatrie war ein langer Prozess. Die Acta synodalia zeigen, daß die Versammlungen der Bischöfe mit den Abfällen vom Glauben in der Zeit der Christenverfolgungen sich beschäftigt haben. Es waren Vertreter der Hierarchie sowie Laien, welche in der Verfolgungszeit in verschiedenen Formen im heidnischen Kult teilgenommen haben. Die Synoden widerspiegeln strenge Bußpraxis in Bezug auf die Apostaten und zeigen eine Möglichkeit einer Rückkehr in die Gemeinschaft der Kirche.

Opis:
The idea of free flow of information, for which after II world war developed democratic countries fought on the United Nations and UNESCO forums, was primarily based on the American concept of freedom of the press and the belief that the source of human progress is unrestricted activity of individuals and free competition, uninhibited by state authorities intervention. Today, with the Internet we finally have free access to information and freedom of passing it on to others. However, frequently there are more cases of limiting access to certain information on the network, not only from authoritarian countries, but also democratic. Under the legal names of projects such as European Commissions’ ACTA or ITR (International Telecommunications Regulations) operated by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU – the specialized organization of United Nations) there are smuggled provisions that main goal is to better control the Internet, and thus the flow of information in the world. Citizens of many countries recognize this as a desire to limit their rights and freedoms, so they loudly oppose such regulations. There is a war for control over information. This war has already started decades ago and on its course not only politicians, big business and the media have an impact, but also to the fore come Internet users – citizens of free countries.

Prezentowany artykuł ukazuje zagadnienie chrześcijańskiego świadectwa widziane z perspektywy prześladowań, procesów i śmierci męczenników oddających swe życie za Chrystusa. Źródłem dla rozważań są zachowane opisy męczeństwa (passio, acta martyrum). W chrześcijaństwie męczeństwo uważane jest za najwyższą formę świadectwa dawanego Chrystusowi i wierze, dlatego należy przebadać w jaki sposób świadectwo obecne jest w tych bezpośrednich opisach męki i śmierci chrześcijan pierwszych wieków, w okresie prześladowań, gdy teologia męczeństwa dopiero się rodziła, a dawanie świadectwa chrześcijańskiego życia i śmierci było szczególnie ważne. Artykuł przedstawia zagadnienie chrześcijańskiego świadectwa z różnych stron: świadectwo spisanych świadectw, świadectwo życia męczenników, świadectwo wiary i świadectwo męczeństwa.
The article explores the phenomenon of Christian testimony present in experiences of persecution and in the death of martyrs, those who have given their lives for Christ. The primary sources for our reflection are the preserved descriptions of martyrdom (passio, acta martyrum). Martyrdom is commonly considered as the highest form of Christian testimony, thus it is useful to examine how it is present in the direct testimonies of the passion and death of the Christians of the first centuries, in that period of persecutions when indeed the theology of martyrdom first awakened and the witness of a Christian’s life and death took on particular importance. The article discusses the issue of testimony from different points of view: the witness of written testimonies, the testimony of the earthly lives of the martyrs, the testimony of their faith, and testimony of the act of martyrdom itself.

Poniższy tekst tworzą wybrane fragmenty oficjalnej łacińskiej korespondencji między Gimnazjum Akademickim w Szczecinie a, obchodzącym w roku 1758 dwusetny jubileusz, Gimnazjum Akademickim w Gdańsku. Teksty te zostały wydrukowane w Gdańsku, zapewne na przełomie 1758 i 1759 roku, w specjalnym wydawnictwie jubileuszowym Acta iubilaei secundi Gymnasii Gedanensis… Ich autorem jest zapewne ówczesny rektor szkoły szczecińskiej Heinrich Moritz Titz. Od strony formalnej mamy do czynienia z listem gratulacyjnym (jednym z dwóch nadesłanych oficjalnie przez szczecinian do Gdańska), który prezentuje reakcję wspólnoty szkolnej na gdański jubileusz. W przesyłce znalazło się też programma, które można rozumieć jako „ogłoszenie” o gdańskim jubileuszu, kierowane przez wspólnotę profesorów Akademickiego Gimnazjum w Szczecinie do uczniów z ich szkoły i do prominentnych członków lokalnej wspólnoty miejskiej. Pisma te są przykładem instytucjonalnych kontaktów w ramach Respublica litteraria. Zostały przetranskrybowane i przełożone na język polski. Poprzedza je wstęp, w którym skomentowałem ich treść i formę, a także podjąłem próbę wyjaśnienia roli tej korespondencji pośród innych podobnych od strony formalnej tekstów gratulacyjnych, licznie reprezentowanych w gdańskich Acta iubilaei secundi…
The text comprises selected fragments of the official Latin correspondence between the Academic Gymnasium in Szczecin and the Academic Gymnasium in Gdańsk which in 1758 celebrated its 200 anniversary. These texts were printed in Gdańsk somewhere around 1758–1759 in a special jubilee publication Acta iubilaei secundi Gymnasii Gedanensis… They were authored probably by the then rector of the Szczecin school Heinrich Moritz Titz. Formally, it is a congratulation letter (one of the two officially sent from Szczecin to Gdańsk), which expressed the response of the school community to the Gdańsk jubilee. The letter was accompanied with a programma, which can be understood as an announcement of the Gdańsk jubilee. The community of the professors of the Academic Gymnasium in Szczecin addressed this announcement to its students and the prominent members of the local municipal community. These writings exemplify the institutional contacts within the Respublica litteraria. They were transcribed and translated into the Polish language. They are preceded by an Introduction in which I commented their content and form, and took an attempt to explain the role of this correspondence among many other, formally similar, congratulation texts in the Acta iubilaei secundi Gymnasii Gedanensis…

Zgodnie z teologią Nowego Testamentu śmierć chrześcijanina jest przejściem do życia wiecznego. Więcej, sam proces umierania, w myśl ewangelicznej dynamiki obumierania ziarna, jest rodzeniem się do nowego życia. Autorzy wczesnochrześcijańskiej literatury męczeńskiej mieli świadomość tego paradoksu. Już jej pobieżna lektura uzmysławia, jak wielką przykładali do niego wagę: nie tylko śmierć męczennika, ale także narzędzia kaźni, jakiej zostaje poddany, stają się już tu na ziemi objawieniem rzeczywistości zbawienia. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest wynotowanie i uporządkowanie tych miejsc z wczesnochrześcijańskiej literatury męczeńskiej, gdzie mamy do czynienia z owym paradoksalnym przewartościowaniem (podział na: więzienie, venationes, spalenie na stosie) oraz zestawienie ich z odpowiadającymi im miejscami z Pisma Świętego.

From twenty two martyrs of advanced age described in ancient Christian texts the author has choosen four in order to present his thesis that old age is a support for faith. They are: Polycarp of Smyrna, Potinus – a bishop of Lyons, presbyter Saturninus from among the martyrs of Abitene, and Sixtus – the bishop of Rome. The literary prototype of Christian martyr – senex is Eleazar whose martyrdom is described in the second and fourth books of the Maccabees. He was an old man, who at the time his cruel death preserves the courage of spirit and becomes a support and example of faith for the young.
