Opis:
Selected results of the qualitative research about social and individual consequences of non – typical forms of employment are presented. The research was carried out in the Lubuskie voivodship in 2011. They seem to show that the inhabitants of this province are aware of advantages and disadvantages of the flexible labour market. For some people flexible job contracts offer a chance to create self-made careers. Some people declare flexible jobs as a substitute under a lack of full-time jobs in searching for job. They understand that flexible jobs counteract unemployment and guarantee any income. However, they complain about uncertainty related the contract duration, income, and irregular work intensity. There are also opinions that when combined with a stable contract non-typical forms of employment offer opportunities to stabilize a financial situation.

Opis:
The development of flexible forms of work is one of the most discussed problems concerning the contemporary labor market. This article presents thoughts on the evolution of the concept of flexibility and its types to date. The presence of both negative and positive aspects of flexible solutions from the point of view of employers and employees is stressed. Potential applications of flexible forms of work improving relations between the professional and personal lives of workers are presented. The last section is devoted to factors impeding the introduction and use of flexible forms of work in Poland - legal regulations and a lack of awareness of organizational and time-based solutions and their methods of implementation.

A psychological analysis of the functioning of people in the work envi- ronment has been conducted on the basis of the results of quantitative research carried out among workers employed in nine forms of flexible employment, drawing on a model of selected psychological variables, in- cluding employment choice autonomy, attribution of organizational mem- bership, form and content of psychological contract, and attitudes towards work and social skills, including personal flexibility and assertive behav- iour. Work satisfaction in flexible types of employment has also been stud- ied, along with the psychological cost associated with this type of employment.

Opis:
This paper shows important trends on the contemporary labor market in the area of forms of employment. Possibilities for the implementation of flexible forms of employment in the shipbuilding industry are demonstrated in experience gained through the EUROSTER Project, financed by the European Social Fund. The paper examines the best employment structures for use in the businesses of this industry. Professions that can be performed applying flexible forms of employment are also looked at. Research among the managerial staff of the shipbuilding industry is used to present opinions on implementation of such forms and structures. Lastly, this paper looks at problems linked with barriers to undertaking changes in forms of employment in the companies.

Opis:
The technical issues described in the paper concern aspects of foundations of buried flexible steel structures. The foundations of these structures are most frequently made as traditional “rigid” structures (which is related to their massiveness - most commonly reinforced concrete), or in the form of properly profiled soil foundations (depending on the shape of the coating). Comparison of the two issues of “vulnerability”, i.e. the bearing structure and the ’’rigidity” of foundations, is the main motivation to carry out testing and conduct an analysis in this area. The problems are discussed in the paper in the context of new developments in the field of “flexible” foundations of the structures in question. Further development analyses are currently in progress , which will be practically implemented in the form of appropriate guidelines. In the authors' opinion, this will help to optimize the design of the in which the foundation of these structures.

Opis:
Radial drilling technology, of which the jet bit is the key device, is a research focus in the field of oil drilling and production. This paper shows mechanical equations for jet bits and analyzes the behavior of water while passing the jet bit. Were set up few important conclusions. The generation of the pulling force is mainly due to the inlet pressure of the jet bit; the backward jets can significantly increase not only the pulling force but also the stability of jet bits. The pulling force would reach 311 N while sumilation, which can steadily pull the high-pressure hose forward.

Flexicurity can be specified as an integrated strategy to ensure flexibility and employment security in European labour markets. On its basis lies smooth overlapping changes to the professional life of every human being, from the end of the stage of education, the first work, by changing jobs, until retirement. The flexicurity strategy focuses on the creation of opportunities for workers to change jobs for a better, career advancement, an individual employee development, flexible organisation of working time and reconciliation of work with private and family life. An essential element is to ensure the safety of systems of social benefits. Implementation of the strategy of flexicurity is to translate into greater business competitiveness and profitability of the economy, and thus lead to a higher standard of living for citizens. In Poland it is difficult to talk about a comprehensive implementation of flexicurity, but our legal solutions allow many forms of flexible work, which can bring benefits for both employers and workers in a situation where they are put on the principle of negotiation and mutual consent of both sides.

The paper describes a mechatronic approach towards designing and implementation complex motion control system. Particular attention was paid to virtual and physical prototyping of the control system. Possible implementations were divided into two groups: single applications or mass production. Authors attempt to present a unified approach towards the development of the process of designing control systems of both types. The prototyping enviroment was build around MATLAB, Simulink and RTW software from The Math Works Inc. Verification of presented methodology was done using physical model of a flexible robot arm: a with flexible beam, DC motor drive and harmonic gear. Object is very difficult to control due to non-linear and non-stationary behaviour of harmonic gear.
Szybkie prototypowanie w projektowaniu mechatronicznym. W pracy przedstawiono metodykę projektowania mechatronicznego ze szczególnym uwzlędnieniem procesu prototypowania. Przedstawione procedury umożliwiają skrócenie czasu powstawania produktu oraz integrację dziedzin wchodzących w skład mechatroniki. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na interdyscyplinarny charakter projektowania mechatronicznego oraz rolę budowy i badania prototypu w realizacji współczesnych produktów mechatronicznych. Przedstawiono system komputerowego wspomagania projektowania mechatronicznego. Jako przykład zastosowania opracowanych procedur wykonano układ sterowania elastycznym ramieniem robota.

Functioning of man in working conditions in a cognitive perspective is making decisions, doing a specific job and getting results. All of these three components are present in each work, but work in conditions of alternative employment sets different requirements to an individual with respect to the above-mentioned three components of work. In this article attention will be paid in particular to the third of these three components - the results of the work. These are the results that are critical for job satisfaction and its individual components. These three elements of human activity employed both on a permanent and temporary basis are present in nearly every motivation model (cf. Porter, Lawler 1967 and others). At the same time new categories of description and explanation of human behaviour spring up, since employment conditions are changing. Flexible employment is one of the most characteristic changes in the present times with regard to the relationship between an employee and an employer. The article presents the results of the author’s research on the sample of flexible employees.

In the paper the results of investigation of sheet-titanium forming with flexible tool are presented. Titanium alloy sheets belong to a group of materials which are very hard to deform at ambient temperature. To improve sheet formability forming technology using a semi-flexible tool was implemented. Experiments were carried out on a specially designed for this purpose device. Due to the application of a rubber pad the stress state similar to triaxial compression was produced in the deformed material. Such a stress state made it possible to obtain higher material deformation without risk of fracture. The numerical simulations were used for analysing the flexible forming process. The ADINA System basing on the Finite Element Method (FEM) was applied.
W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badań procesu tłoczenia blach tytanowych za pomocą elastycznego narzędzia. Blachy ze stopów tytanu należą do grupy materiałów trudno odkształcalnych w temperaturze otoczenia. W celu zwiększenia tłoczności zastosowano technologie tłoczenia półelastycznym narzędziem. Doświadczenia przeprowadzono na stanowisku specjalnie zaprojektowanym w tym celu. Dzięki zastosowaniu gumowej wkładki w odkształcanym materiale wytworzony został stan naprężenia podobny do trójosiowego ściskania. Taki stan naprężenia umożliwił uzyskanie większych odkształceń materiału bez ryzyka pęknięcia. Do analizy procesu tłoczenia elastycznego wykorzystano symulacje numeryczne. Zastosowano program ADINA bazujący na Metodzie Elementów Skończonych (MES).

The IoT technology is currently used in many areas and marked by growing popularity. On the one hand, the IoT makes our lives easier, on the other hand, it presents challenges in terms of security and privacy protection. An IoT infrastructure is characterized by a high level of threats due to, inter alia, numerous technical barriers that make it difficult to use conventional methods to protect information. The aim of this paper is to present a symmetric coding algorithm based on algebraic groups generated by specific trigonometric curves. The algorithm is dedicated to short data sequences transmitted by devices with limited computing power.

Knowing the structural capacity of existing bridges is essential for road administrations. This is equally true for flexible culverts as for any other type of bridge. For older structures all necessary data for a full detailed verification of the structural capacity may not be in place. In some instances the missing data may be possible to retrieve by different measurement and testing procedures in the field and in laboratory environment. However, for most of the structures one need to rely on database information when estimating the structural capacity. In this paper the procedures for estimating the structural capacity of existing flexible culverts specific for Swedish conditions is described along with some technical aspects important for the structural capacity.

When it comes to performance of duties, professional activity in flexible forms of employment, regardless of attachment to an organisation, perceived welfare of an employee, job satisfaction and efficiency of one’s own professional activities work engagement plays a vital role. This means that regardless the organization, variability in employment, jobs and posts, an individual employed in flexible forms of employment may experience, precisely as permanent staff and employees employed in traditional forms of employments, all the components of job involvement such as vigour, absorption and dedication. To test this hypothesis the author carried out a survey on a group employees employed in nine flexible forms of employment. This paper presents the most important conclusions of the survey and a theoretical review of the analysed variable.

The paper presents a comparative analysis of two types of flexible temperature sensors, made of carbon-based nanostructures composites. These sensors were fabricated by a low-cost screen-printing method, which qualifies them to large scale, portable consumer electronic products. Results of examined measurements show the possibility of application for thick film devices, especially dedicated to wearable electronics, also known as a textronics. Apart from general characterisation, the influence of technological processes on specific sensor parameters were examined, particulary the value of the temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and its stability during the device bending.

Currently in Poland, the most important legal act specifying the requirements and materials that can be used for the construction of gas installations in buildings is the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure on the technical conditions to be met by buildings and their location (Journal of Laws 2015 item 1422 as amended). It permits the use of seamless steel or welded steel carrier pipes, and threaded connections or copper pipes joined by brazing. Due to the fact that the Polish Standard PN-EN 1775:2009 (PN-EN 1775:2009) allows the use of corrugated stainless steel hoses as well as other materials, including plastics or stainless steel systems joined by crimping, as well as emerging inquiries of manufacturers of corrugated stainless steel hoses concerning the possibility of their use in Poland, an analysis of the possibility of using corrugated stainless steel hoses for gas installations in Poland was conducted. The article presents the provisions in force in Poland and in selected EU countries regulating the possibility of using corrugated stainless steel hoses in gas installations in buildings. Research was carried out to examine the most important, form the author’s point of view, characteristics of corrugated stainless steel hose systems, taking into account those properties that may have the greatest impact on their safety. The research was carried out on three selected systems available on the EU market. The properties tested were tightness, bending capacity, internal pressure strength, impact resistance, dent resistance, tensile strength, fire tightness. The tests were carried out based on the methodology described in the Polish Standard PN-EN 15266:2009. All tests gave positive results. Finally, the feasibility of using corrugated stainless steel hose systems in gas installations in buildings was assessed, and additional requirements to be met by these systems were proposed.

The article refers to the problem of inadequacy of the classification of the constitution due to the mode amend them. The purpose of the analysis was to determine the scope of the diversity of procedures for the amendment of constitutions as well as to create a typology of such procedures, with consideration to their individual components, their functions and effects of their use. To this end, I conducted a review of applicable solutions in terms of grouping related institutions. Considerations begin with indication of systemic importance of amendment procedures, the reasons for the use of stringent solutions and low popularity of flexible acts. For this purpose, it was necessary to present the origin and foundations of the division into rigid and flexible constitutions. Two-step classification proposed by JB Bryce over 130 years ago is not applicable to modern constitutions. The new three-step classification takes into account hedging instruments, which are used in the constitutions created in the twentieth century. The analysis included the following stages of work on the revision modern European constitution. As a result, they managed to identify different types of instruments intended to ensure the functionality and stability of the political system. Because of its universal nature it can be applied to all of the constitution historical and current, regardless of the provisions made for their protection.
Artykuł odnosi się do problemu nieadekwatności stosowanych w nauce prawa konstytucyjnego klasyfikacji konstytucji ze względu na tryb ich zmiany. Klasyfikacja dwustopniowa, zaproponowane przez J.B. Bryce’a ponad 130 lat temu nie da się zastosować do nowoczesnych konstytucji. Nowa klasyfikacja trzystopniowa uwzględnia instrumenty zabezpieczające, jakie są stosowane w konstytucjach stworzonych w XX w. Analiza objęła kolejne etapy prac nad zmianą współczesnych konstytucji europejskich, począwszy od inicjowania zmiany, poprzez jej opracowanie, uchwalenie, aż do ogłoszenia. Dzięki temu udało się wskazać różne rodzaje zabezpieczeń, mających zagwarantować ich funkcjonalność oraz stabilność ustroju państwa, a także dokonać ich pogrupowania. Pozwoliło to na stworzenie nowej klasyfikacji progresywnej. Ze względu na swój uniwersalny charakter może być stosowana do wszystkich konstytucji: historycznych i współczesnych, niezależnie od wprowadzonych do ich przepisów zabezpieczeń.

Demands for micro/nano products and assembly systems have been raised significantly to meet the ever complex technical needs for modern society. In this paper, we share the experiences and results of the study on the flexible micro assembly workcell focused primarily on a novel system implementation and system performance analysis. For flexible and autonomous assembly operations, we investigated a novel model based 3D depth measurement technology for faster and cost effective means to promote autonomous micro assembly systems in various industries. Micro parts, by its nature, are known of their shapes in advance for the majority of micro applications. We take advantage of the previously known shape of micro parts and hence apply a model based approach for a faster and cost effective localization and 3D depth measure of randomly loaded micro-parts on the workcell. The proposed 3D depth measuring method is based on the pattern recognition and multi-focus technique enabling it to extract only information useful for micro parts assembly for faster recognition. For demonstration purpose, silicon based oxide gears are fabricated by bulk micromachining and are used to study performance indices and to prove the usefulness of the proposed micro 3D depth measurement technology.

The article addresses the problem of determining the sequence of entering orders for production in a flexible manufacturing system implementing technological operations of cutting sheet metal. Adopting a specific ranking of production orders gives rise to the vector of delays and waste in the form of incompletely used sheets. A new method was postulated for determining the optimal sequence of orders in terms of two criteria: the total cost of delays and the amount of production waste. The examples illustrate the advantages of the proposed method compared with the popular heuristic principles.

Opis:
Hydrofoil is widely used in underwater vehicle for the excellent hydrodynamic characteristics. Currently, researches are mostly about the rigid hydrofoil while the flexible hydrofoil, like the caudal fin, has not been studied adequately. In this paper, the fish was regarded as the bionic object. Then the kinematics model to describe the fish swimming was put forward. A fin-peduncle propulsion mechanism was designed based on the kinematics model to achieve the similar sine curve swimming model. The propulsion mechanism was optimized by Matlab to reduc the deviation between the output curve of the fin-peduncle propulsion mechanism and the ideal motion trajectory. Moreover, the motion phase angles among flexible articulations are optimized to reduce fluid resistance and improve propulsive efficiency. Finally, the fish-like hydrofoil oscillation is simulated by fluid-solid coupling method based on the Fluent. It was shown that the optimized flexible fish-like oscillation could generate the motion that follows the similar law of sine. The propulsive efficiency of oscillating hydrofoil propeller is much higher than that of the screw propeller, and the flexible oscillation has higher propulsive efficiency than the rigid oscillation without obvious fluid resistance increase.

Understanding the interactions of epothilones with β-tubulin is crucial for computer aided rational design of macrocyclic drugs based on epothilones and epothilone derivatives. Despite numerous structure-activity relationship investigations we still lack substantial knowledge about the binding mode of epothilones and their derivatives to β-tubulin. In this work, we reevaluated the electron crystallography structure of epothilone A/β-tubulin complex (PDB entry 1TVK) and proposed an alternative binding mode of epothilone A to β-tubulin that explains more experimental facts.

In this paper, we consider the influence of the model reduction on the dynamics of the real closed-loop system. A simple cantilever beam is the object of consideration since we are able to formulate the exact analytical model of such structure. As a result of reduction, the model with low frequency resonances is usually separated from the high frequency dynamics because high frequency part of the model is naturally strong damped. In order to estimate dynamical system for control purposes in the paper, we applied a few orthogonal methods such as: modal and Schur decompositions. As it is shown, all methods well calculate resonances frequencies but generate different antiresonances frequencies. In the vibration control systems, the antiresonances play essential role. They influence the stability and dynamics of the closed-loop systems. The controllers designed for different reduced models were applied to real full plant. Dynamics behavior of the closed-loop systems with such controllers were analyzed and compared. The theoretical considerations were confirmed by experimental investigations. In conclusion, we should carefully choose model reduction methods in the design process of the vibration control system.
