    Opis:
    W pracy opisano proces wdrażania systemu identyfikowalności w zakładach przemysłu spożywczego. Przedstawiono poszczególne etapy wprowadzania systemu, takie jak: projektowanie systemu, analiza dokumentacji zakładowej, ocena możliwości przeprowadzenia identyfikacji produktów na podstawie prowadzonych dokumentów, modyfikacja obecnej dokumentacji w przypadku braku zachowania ciągłości w przepływie informacji w łańcuchu żywnościowym oraz weryfikacja wdrożonego systemu identyfikowalności. W pracy zwrócono również uwagę na trudności związane z funkcjonowaniem systemu i opisano korzyści wynikające z jego wdrożenia.
    The paper presents the implementation of traceability system in food processing plant. Article shows stages of the implementation, such as: design of the system, analysis of the documentation, evaluation of the possibility of tracing products based on documentation, modification of current documentation if the continuity of information flow throughout food chain was not maintained and the verification of the implemented system. The paper also presents the difficulty in the functioning of traceability system and benefits of the implementation of this system.

    Cortisol stimulates the synthesis and secretion of oxytocin (OT) from bovine granulosa and luteal cells, but the molecular mechanisms of cortisol action remain unknown. In this study, granulosa cells or luteal cells from days 1-5 and 11-15 of the oestrous cycle were incubated for 4 or 8 h with cortisol (1x10⁻⁵, 1x10⁻⁷ M). After testing cell viability and hormone secretion (OT, progesterone, estradiol), we studied the effect of cortisol on mRNA expression for precursor of OT (NP-I/OT) and peptidyl glycine-α-amidating mono-oxygenase (PGA). The influence of RU 486 (1x10⁻⁵ M), a progesterone receptor blocker and inhibitor of the glucocorticosteroid receptor (GR), on the expression for both genes was tested. Cortisol increased the mRNA expression for NP-I/OT and PGA in granulosa cells and stimulated the expression for NP-I/OT mRNA in luteal cells obtained from days 1-5 and days 11-15 of the oestrous cycle. Expression for PGA mRNA was increased only in luteal cells from days 11-15 of the oestrous cycle. In addition, RU 486 blocked the cortisol-stimulated mRNA expression for NP-I/OT and PGA in both types of cells. These data suggest that cortisol affects OT synthesis and secretion in bovine ovarian cells, by acting on the expression of key genes, that may impair ovary function.

    Due to the need to ensure protection of the forest environment against so−called forestry damage, the Polish legislator introduced a number of legal solutions (both in the field of criminal law and the law of misdemeanors), aimed at eliminating human behaviors that harm the forest as a priceless good. Despite the multiplicity of legal regulations, in practice there are situations of improper use (i.e. incorrect legal classification of an act), which in turn translates into the level of forest legal protection as property of special value. The paper analyses criminal law (sensu largo) in terms of penalizing behaviors that are a manifestation of forest damage, but also indicates their correct application in the situation of for example felling and then theft of wood or theft of wood itself. It should be pointed out that the current provisions on the protection of forest property, contained in the Penal Code (PC) of 1997, as well as the Code of Misdemeanors (CM) of 1971, differ significantly (while for the legal qualification: felling and then the theft of trees on the basis of PC should reach for the disposition of the provision of Article 290 of the PC in conjunction with Article 278 PC, then under the CM, only the provision of Article 120 of the PC). The non−uniformity of penal provisions and provisions regulating liability in the event of an offense aimed at ensuring the protection of forest property against forest damage creates a necessity to clarify them, but also to indicate an appropriate model for the classification of acts subject to their instruction.

    The aim of this work was to compare free radical properties of some model neuromelanins obtained from dopamine and its mixture with 5-S-cysteinyldopamine in various molar ratios. The EPR method was used in these investigations; the samples were detected at X and K bands. The parameters of EPR spectra, free radicals concentrations in air and in vacuum, the influence of microwave power and temperature on intensity of resonance signals were measured.

    A significant number of cases of clinical canine epilepsy remain difficult to control in spite of the applied treatment. At the same time, the range of antiepileptic drugs is increasingly wide, which allows efficient treatment. In the present paper we describe the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of the newer antiepileptic drugs which were licensed after 1990 but are still not widely used in veterinary medicine. The pharmacokinetic profiles of six of these drugs were tested on dogs. The results of experimental studies suggest that second generation antiepileptic drugs may be applied in mono- as well as in poli- treatment of canine epilepsy because of the larger safety margin and more advantageous pharmacokinetic parameters. Knowledge of the drugs’ pharmacokinetics allows its proper clinical appliance, which, in turn, gives the chance to improve the efficiency of pharmacotherapy of canine epilepsy.

    Opis:
    Boron nitride layers were grown on sapphire substrate by metal organic vapor phase epitaxy system that was originally designed for growth of GaN. Structures were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, the Raman spectroscopy, absorption and time resolved photoluminescence. Presented results confirm successful deposition of BN layers and gives information about basic properties of the material. The Raman line at 1370 cm^{-1} and absorption edges at 5.6-5.9 eV were observed which is related to hexagonal phase.
