Opis:
Opakowanie do żywności ma istotny wpływ na bezpieczeństwo zapakowanego środka spożywczego i konsumenta. Celem pracy była analiza opinii konsumentów na temat bezpieczeństwa opakowań do żywności. W ankiecie wzięło udział 204 respondentów. Większość z nich nie była przekonana o całkowitym bezpieczeństwie opakowań przeznaczonych do kontaktu z żywnością. W ich opinii najlepszym materiałem opakowaniowym było szkło, jednakże rodzaj opakowania rzadko wpływał na wybór produktu spożywczego. Można przypuszczać, że wygoda użytkowania, funkcjonalność i atrakcyjność opakowania wciąż mają dla konsumentów większe znaczenie niż bezpieczeństwo i ekologia. Wszyscy respondenci dostrzegali ważną rolę opakowania w zapewnianiu bezpieczeństwa żywności. Ponad połowa badanych wskazała stosowanie substancji niedozwolonych do kontaktu z żywnością w procesie produkcji materiałów opakowaniowych jako zagrożenie występujące najczęściej. Może to świadczyć o braku wiedzy respondentów o obowiązujących w Polsce i UE rozwiązaniach zapewniających konsumentom bezpieczeństwo.

The studies were carried out between 1997-1999 within the administrative district of Toruń. Forty sports pigeon breeders together with their pigeons were under study annually. The collected materiał allowed noticing the following issues: in 1997 and 1998 the Argas reflexus (Fabricius, 1794) was present in dovecotes (individuals) and the breeds' owners were pricked. In 1998 numerous specimens of the A. rejlexus were obtained from the materiał from the sanitary-epidemiological station. The specimens were collected from the bodies of the people, family members and from their flat located on the highest third floor of the old house. In the miteinfected dovecotes and in the old houserooms, the following steps were suggested: mechanical cleansing, whitewashing, disinfecting, and triple disinsecting, with fourteen-day-long intervals. The people with the symptoms of acariosis were subjected to treatment with calcium, antiallergic, and anti-fever mixtures, and, in some cases, cortisone ointments were applied. In spite of a considerable growth in the symptoms, the used methods turned out to be successful in all the studied cases.

This review presents the results of studies on the freshwater snail-trematode associations, carried out in Europe since the beginning of the 20th century. The great number of synonyms of snail and trematode specific names has made the cooperation between malacologists and parasitologists difficult. Here we provide a survey of larval trematodes (cercariae) based on Central, North and Western European literature. Whenever possible, the valid species name is provided, accompanied by synonyms, or just provisional names are used making up the largest part of the list. Trematodes with a definitely unclear systematic status are indicated as species incertae sedis. These include mostly trematodes which were attributed obviously erroneous names with poor or no description of their morphology. Although the provisional names inflate the number of trematode species and there are still many identification problems, we believe that this is another step in assessing the trematode species composition in Europe which will help not only parasitologists but also malacologists and contribute to their closer cooperation.

W pracy porównano jakość jogurtu produkowanego metodą przyspieszoną z zastosowaniem prefermentacji i metodą termostatową. Stwierdzono porównywalność cech organoleptycznych, lepkości i podatności na synerezę jogurtu wyprodukowanego metodą przyspieszoną z zastosowaniem prefermentacji i termostatową.
Properties of yogurt produced traditionally and using the accelerated method with prefermentation were compared. It was found that orga- noleptic properties, viscosity and susceptibility to syneresis of yogurt produced by both methods were comparable.

Opis:
W pracy scharakteryzowano cechy jakościowe jogurtu z dodatkiem soli wapnia i magnezu, wyprodukowanego metodą termostatową i przyspieszoną z zastosowaniem prefermentacji. Stwierdzono porównywalność cech organoleptycznych i lepkości jogurtu, z dodatkiem soli wapnia i magnezu, wyprodukowanego zarówno metodą termostatową jak i przyspieszoną. Dodatek soli wapnia i magnezu do mleka przy produkcji jogurtu powinien nie być wyższy niż 200 mg/L.
Properties of yoghurt produced traditionally and using the accelerated method with the addition of calcium and magnesium salts were compared in the paper. It was found that organoleptic properties and viscosity of yoghurt produced by both methods were comparable. The addition of calcium and magnesium salts should not be higher than 200 mg/L.

Parasitical invasions constitute a serious veterinary-economic problem in pheasant breeding. The studies were carried out between 1995-1997 in a big breeding centre situated in the Middle Pomerania region, where the basic flock amounted to 1000-1200 bird individuals. The aim of the study was to determine a condition of the pheasants' affliction with nematodes, reasons for the invasion and possibilities of a decrease in the losses thus brought about. In the subsequent years, the flock affliction reached the following proportions: 40% in 1995, 42% in 1996, and 68% in 1997. Between 1995 and 1996, the findings revealed eggs of the nematode Capillaria sp (C. anatis and C. phasianina) in their faeces, with less frequent cases of Trichostrongylus tenuis, Heterakis isolonche and Syngamus trachea. Between 1995-1996 40% deaths in the afflicted flock were brought about by Syngamus trachea whilst in 1997 syngamosis resulted in 80% deaths among the afflicted birds. To determine reasons for the confirmed nematode invasion in the studied period during which all the requirements were fulfilled in the pheasant breeding, conclusions were drawn on the basis of the study. Also, preventive measures were suggested to stop any further appearance of syngamosis or losses due to other endoparasites, as those in 1997.
